Hey /tg/, recently got my hands on this cute little RPG called Acdemagia. It has a cool dice and combat system that I don't think I've seen before.
Thinking of using it for a play-by-post game with a couple of friends over roll20.
Have any thoughts, /tg/?
Cute!
Is this from the same guy that made Mascot-Tan?

nope! made by a guy called Trevor Cashmore; says so on the cover

Why is that name familiar?

Only thing I can find of him is an interview of him on a MTG podcast called Re-Making Magic.
System looks cool

Guess I'll give it a read.
I was actually thinking of making a homebrew where the players are the faculty of a mage academy, so maybe this'll inspire me to get off my ass.

Neat little game. Reminds me a bit of Call of Catthulhu, although there's a little bit more there. Useful for cribbing design notes, even if I'm unlikely to play it with my group.
Is there more is it just this?
There is a very good video game student simulator named Academagica, you may be thinking of that.

I wouldn't call it good. Dozens of skills are only used once or twice in the entire game, and that's assuming RNG gives you an event that can use them.
And the devs made the mistake of cramming everything into the first year of the game, instead of spacing it over the four years a playthrough was supposed to cover.

That girl on the cover looks familiar.
