Rifts is a post-apoc, kitchen-sink game with soldiers, mecha, wizards, dragons, psionics, cyborgs, monsters, aliens, dimension-hopping and everything else thrown in.
It's getting converted to Savage Worlds and the conversion looks good. Are you going to run a game now that it has a decent ruleset?

Would love to run a game. Need actual players around here.

Glitter Boy for the ducking win!

I like the old rules, but I am learning savage world rules. For a DBZ game I am going to run so hopefully as SW looks like a strong ruleset.

I like my games as nonsense as possible. It's my cover for being a shitty, forgetful and inconsistent GM.

>I like the old rules,
Whoa, first time I've seen this.

Hey now, I like the old rules too, at least the RUE ones. That being said Im not an insane person who thinks there isnt a bunch of problems with them. I just like them, warts included.
I would like to see a definitive "Megaversal Core Rulebook" though, no copy pasta, just all freshly written rules that matter of factly override all pre-existing rules, clarify some of the many missing parts and acts as an easy to read ruleset for all of their game lines.

That would break the "Megaversal" system and require everyone to get conversions for or buy 80 new books. Kevin would never allow that while he lives. Rifts will have to pried from his cold, dead hands.

Not freshly written as in all the rules change, but just re-written so it HAS to actually be thought about and edited appropriately and not just republishing lines of text that have already been erratad or changed throughout various versions.
I don't think anyone in my group is interested in it. If we were going to SW again we'd probably do more Deadlands. It's shame because I'd like to see this sort of crazy high end combat in action and muck about a bit in this setting. I get a kinda He-Man, Thundercats, etc vibe from it.

Yea, but I was introduced to TTRPGs this way so it could be nostalgia clouding my glasses.

I don't like the old rules, but I definitely prefer the old art/style.

Yeah, the Savage Rifts stuff isn't bad, but it sure isn't exciting in any way.
There's a certain charm to black and white art that gets lost in coloured illustrations.
Especially for robots.
What's a better name for Sovietski?
Does this robot suit make me look fat?
Is Savage Worlds any good?

It's medium-crunch, straight-forward and pretty good for over-the-top cinematic action. Which fits Rifts quite well, except in the mecha dept.
>>49897783
I definitely enjoy it. The rules are fairly loose, so it's important to have a confident GM who is willing to improvise on the spot and allow cool stuff if it makes even a little bit of sense.
Seems perfect for RIFTS from what I've seen of it (I really, really hate the system though)

It's fine. Generic roleplaying system geared around fighting but also has a handful of mechanics that noncombat characters can use to be useful in a fight. Some people get very upset about a minor quirk in the exploding dice math and shitpost endlessly about it whenever the system is brought up, surprised they're not here already.
