The SCS was made as an addon to the CYOA to cover the combat side of roleplaying. It allows players to easily take characters made in the CYOA v1.5 and use them in Quests and long-running campaigns alike.

This PDF covers the basics of magical girls and sets the groundwork for updates and addons.

I'm basing this as much as I can on the existing trees. I posted a preview a while back that showed what the Fire tree will look like, and I don't think I got any complaints about balance for that.

There's no official set of AMGC rulings for Origins, but if you want to use them, just come to the IRC (or Discord, but that's more for SCS) and say that your character uses Origins, and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out for you.

Besides, half of the players on there just Points Buy their builds anyway.

The character archive doesn't catalogue coin spending or anything so for the most part you'll be taken at face value if you're asked for your stats. Hell if you want you can make your sheet private for your eyes only more than a few people have done that including an IRC mod.
If you ask for verification you run the risk of being called an asshole or starting a witch hunt.

If you ever feel like doing a quest, you'll have to tell the GM you're using Origins rules beforehand. Same goes with PvP. They'll probably let you just go ahead and use them, but just in case they don't, you may need to keep an Origins-less version of your character sheet ready.

Aside from questing and fighting, you can definitely use the Origins rules. In RP, CYOA content is often just as canon as AMGC stuff, even in the IRC.

Also point buy builds are Smug origins, except that they give a lot more. It's just the mechanics that aren't supported, but that shouldn't be that big a deal in RPing.

No. Death was the default for the CYOA before the origin update, but in the irc (and AMGC) people were always doing weird shit with their characters backstories.
I don't think its fair to equate pointbuying with smug either. Nothing in the AMGC fluff text for pointbuy suggests you're trying to con the puchuu. It reads more neutrally.
