Yes, edgy bondage elves are an actual army.

Their latest codex removed their big faction leader special character and made certain units no longer able to get the grenades bonus for charging through cover for no reason though, which pissed a lot of people off.

As-is, they are extremely fast and extremely fragile, and have poison and lance shooting letting them always have a chance at harming whatever they're targeting. They also have a special rule where they get stronger as the game goes on.

Surviving, yes. But the marine was hurt and the suit was very badly damaged. It's because of the adamantium skeleton and the fact that he sunk into the ground under the weight. Even the marines present were like "holy fucking shit" even though the terminator himself acted all cool and told them to stop standing there and go kill some heretics. While bleeding through the torn gaps in his armour.

I do not remember anyone getting stepped on in Storm of Iron. In the novel there's a terminator that gets shot in the chest with a plasma gun (doesn't penetrate, but melts the surface of the suit and he can feel the heat inside the suit), a terminator that gets toxic sludge poured on him (should have worn a helmet) and a terminator that takes out a Warhound with a combi-melta.

I'm trading both the Custodes and Sisters for more Tartaros Terminators. If I can find anyone willing to swap five-for-fifteen, I'll trade my Terminators for Iron Armor. My goal is to wind up with sixty marines when all is said and done. Gotta build those twenty-man legionnaire squads, somehow.

Remains to be seen what rules and units they get. If they get Contemptors, I might be persuaded to not put the two I got with my SW and instead paint them golden.

Those are still the fundamental steps. Everything else is just detailing. Models with as much kruft on them as the Custodes are actually easier paint because there are more hard edges to highlight and fewer flat surfaces to shade.

Painting them well is still pretty easy. A lot of raised area, simple color scheme, and standard GW exaggerated detail.

Selling them is a good idea, but they still don't look difficult to paint.

In Storm of iron he hunted down a warhound titian jumped on it while it was down and killed the crew before finding it's brother leering over him out of the fog.
He was then properly killed by a vulcan mega bolter which he had significantly more chance of surviving than being stomped on.
And that was it.

The dude who kroeger replaced after attacking too soon became a dreadnought or died, one of those two during the course of AE and later went on to die against Sick Fuck number one.

Ok, do tell the rest of the class what else you would apply to the models. They're in golden armour. Apart from little details, it's mostly gold. Painting single colour doesn't need 50 paints. I bet you once Duncan makes a video about painting Custodes, it's mostly gold, wash, highlight.

To be fair, none of those are really mutually exclusive. Using progressive washes to tint, glaze, and/or shade your model is the cornerstone for miniature painting. You could use one or 50 and it wouldn't change the technique used.

That's sort of the point, init? Me saying "gold, wash, highlight" equals "shitty painted mini" only if you're a shitty painter. Point was more that it's way easier to paint a miniature that's mostly single colour than something like a Harlequin with an overly elaborate colour scheme and shapes. When the basic concept is simple, all the effort just goes into making it look good.
