Makes sense. This is a test of course, to see if the made on order thing takes flight without loosing too much money over it from the start. Pretty smart choosing the karskin as vanguard. They probably remembered how the scions were ill recieved at first and tried to play on that.

The Chinese are masters of this. Just picked up a few of theses goodies, I'm glad that i did as everyone at my local shop said it would be over tomorrow.

Just bought Lord Solar Macharius twice, one to paint up and one to use as a statue in a terrain piece. Also bought the old special characters and a couple of other models as conversion fodder. This is pretty neat, I hope they keep releasing old stuff. Shame I already spent a ton of money on Kasrkin on ebay though.

Your options are metal, resin (finecast) and plastic.

Finecast and metal can, kinda, use the same rubber moulds. Plastic can't, you need steel moulds for that (£$€), which in turn means many of the old sculpts simply can't be done (soft rubber moulds allows for slight overhang, steel does not).

I was expecting the entire old school catalogue to be up for order atleast the wfb armies that were squatted, i guess in retrospect it was foolish to think so but there wasnt exactly much info out there of how the system is going to work.

Not sure if i like how gw just chooses a selection of miniatures to put up nor any indication of when this will change to another group of mini's, or if the old lot will still remain when they do change to another group.
