I'm not particularly fast or strong on my own, but:
I am racially combat trained
I can blast the crap out of things with magic that's 27 times as powerful as "normal" or whatever the baseline is or with whatever OTHER weapons my electricity can power.
Me and the Also-Immortal Dwarfbros can combine engineering skills and build epic power armor to wear to enhance speed/strength/vitality without it having to be "natural"
Powering the armor itself is no concern because being an electric-Elementalkin, I can act as a literal living battery for it
Initial money should be no problem since I can literally recharge people's batteries/machinery/entire city block/whatever stuff for cash at no real cost to me
I'd basically be Iron Man minus the squishy humanoid part. Arc Reactor the player character with everything else focused on building/constructing things for me to power.

I spent probably 2 hours at work yesterday making a Universal War build. Have the PDF saved on my phone and everything, for when I have no signal. Even asked some questions in yesterday's thread. It's long been one of my favorite CYOAs, but if I'm in this thread it's usually because I'm on mobile and looking for entertainment. It's very hard to post builds, especially one that long.

I've started keeping a notebook of my builds, if only because I see so many great CYOAs like yours reposted with no response, becuase You(s) are an awful gauge of quality for reposted content IMO. After taking so much time to make a build, only typing it here, and then in a day it's gone...makes a guy lose motivation to put in the time to type that all up again. So I'll keep my builds saved somewhere it won't take me forever to repost, I'll evolve them with time, and hopefully it'll help show creators like you that someone watching this thread does care

Just out of curiosity, is there any way to trade perks for more Power Points? I made a the World build, and realized there's only really 4 perks that I actually want, so I'd rather spend the other two on getting more power points for vanity abilities and the like rather than just wasting them on Abode like my current build does.

Same. I've noticed over time that most of the builds are kind of similar, powers wise, because I can afford most things. Only big differences are the perks, patrons, companions, and maybe quests.

Items are also samey because a lot of items are very expensive, so I never pick them over other, extremely useful and much lower priced things.

I was considering buying the army/legion perk to use as materials in Animus. The original plan was to turn the ~7000 or so elite troops you can get from the quests into various amalgams of the creatures in the Universe (with their permission, obviously) alongside whatever magical bonuses they wanted. Now I've realized, that transforming 37000 people is much cooler than mutating 7000.

Frontliner says you work best in close quarters. Would it still benefit you if you were using a gun, or is it limited to swords and fists as you charge in and beat the ever-loving shit out of them? Because honestly being a front-end scout with a SMG seems like it'd use Frontliner too, and the Indiana-Jones-esque "planning" skills suggests that it'd be better for quick speedy builds.

They shift between inexpensive (you can get like 50 fucking weapons) and very expensive (Outfitting a starship takes a fourth of your budget, for something that is essential to your quest).

As for the Powers, it is fairly easy to get a lot of the same (IE I imagine most of us go for Survivalist or Coordination), but there are some later differences (You can't afford all the physical combat and magical combat skills together, so there is some variance). I'm not really a fan of the current Perks myself, since the Unique Armor/Weapon don't say how they compare to the ones you can purchase, and it isn't clear if the Extraordinary Vehicle can count as a Starship and be outfitted as such.

Not that anon, but personally I like it as it is, though I do think if you do decrease the points given, you should probably give the Incarnates a higher baseline, since otherwise you're likely to just get those same "must buys" but with fewer individual variances since they have fewer "discretionary" points.

Also, how does the Flight 3 power compare to the starships? I know I don't buy starships in my own builds because, I go for Flight 3 and Instant Transmission for my mobility, but I just want to make sure that's actually a viable method of getting around.

Oh, I thought God Gates were for inter-dimensional travel, and for Galactic-level travel inside the dimensions you needed a starship or Level 3 Flight.

I'm not sure if Power Points should be reduced, but maybe there should be more variance and they probably should be re-arranged. Like all the Spirit Gift Powers should be moved to Tier 0, and there should be more Tier 1s to expand that section. Maybe some more passives in T1, like something that cuts the time off your Rituals? Aside from the link above, if you need more ideas I'm sure we could spout of a few dozen, out of which you'd get five or so usable.

This is sense. There are many powers on the wiki that are too weak or specific on their own to justify including in the cyoa, but if they were bundled up together they could form a strong T1 or T2 power.

Also, please list the Spirit Powers by the order that the Spirit Gifts appear. Or at least, put them near each other. There's no reason for Causality to be at the top while Oracle is below Ouroboros.

It takes a month to build a God Gate on your own. God Gates already set up can be used instantly but they can only connect to other God Gates. They can be used to travel an infinite distance instantly.

Flight 3 is slower than Starships but it can be used to get to other planets within a reasonable length of time.

If it would take a month to travel from one end of the galaxy to the other in a Starship, Flight 3 would take a little under 2 months.

There could also be some that replicate higher-tier abilities at a more severe cost. Something like 'Snakeskin' that instantly regenerates your entire body at the cost of half your maximum energy. Or just other stuff that is niche or situational. Here's some off the top of my head

Tremorsense - Able to feel tremors throughout the planet you are on, allowing you to both avoid geologically active areas and sense where heavy machinery is.

Predator - Allows you to have a near-sixth sense that lets you track a single person you have 'marked'. This doesn't rely on smell, so it is perfectly usable in a vacuum. Unlike Cosmic Compass, you can track them anywhere in the Universe with high precision, or even across Universes.

I felt like there was a bit of a difference between Broodmother and Animus. With Animus, I imagine the animals you spawn have their own desires, while with Broodmother they would live only to serve you.

Beast-Shifting is supposed to act like a 'finisher' attack to end a Stylish combo, like turning your arm into a Lion's Head to chomp on someone. Plus shape-shifting doesn't mention being able to only shift portions of your body.

I came to this conversation late but you seem to really consider feedback so I'll throw my two cents in.

Do not reduce the amount of Power Points given. I think reducing them to make drawbacks more appealing is dumb because I always viewed drawbacks as what you go to when you absolutely need some extra shit. Not just to have enough points to finish your build. I've personally found that I could certainly use more powers when I've spent all my Points in the like 5 builds I've made so it's not like Drawbacks aren't being taken or serving their purpose.

I'd say the amount of Points and Stones given are pretty "balanced" as they are at the moment.

Also, care to share any of the stuff you're going to add in the Halloween update?

I just wanted to say that I disagree with the notion of lowering our power points. We are demigods fighting for universal supremacy. We need to be starting at upper tier comic hero power (e.g Superman, Dr. Strange, Phoenix). Now the variety of builds based on powers alone has been limited compared to the supersoldier CYOA but that is for one reason alone. We have to consider that we need to fight up to 99 others with 30 points of the same powers. In order to defend ourselves certain powers need to be taken almost by default. In addition most of the offencive options have hard counters that we are almost guaranteed to encounter so we are less likely to take them.

That's always a risk, true. They might also fall in love with a rival (Beauty 2) or fall under their Charismatic sway. The only one, I imagine, to be truly immune to all of that would be The Lover. You can only get one of those, though.

I always take it on the high magic races too. Compared to humans they may all be good looking but they have their own bell curve. And at the levels we are talking about people would be all but hopelessly mesmerized by such beauty. That's something I did not like about this cyoa is the system made it so there was little variety between what we bought outside of the race itself. Most Companions are resistant to Mind Control and very resistant to Charismatic

Some are outright immune. Like Croatmor, Lodoleth, Spirit Stone, Xuite, Chernabog, The Wise Men, etc.

I have given thought to rival incarnate companions. I have no intention of going alone. For one Groatmor is literally free, but also several of the mentioned "mentor" types will be able to hold their own as well. However ultimately most companions will need to stay home once the fights reach a certain level. The best counter is to take ONE incarnate as a companion so that you can both work on demiurge hood together. I say one because managing more could get tricky. I am personally thinking Jazz but thats just me.

The central point was that you're the one who's supposed to design that beauty in the CYAO, and there's no fucking way you can do that without imagining it first. So exceptional appearance wouldn't do anything for your beauty on a race that already gets perfect looks by default, because there's nothing you can do with it.
