Funny enough he made stickers with the update you can use on the old cards. I missed the last KS the game itself is really fun but its got that Dark Souls level of difficulty. Ive done games where we have wiped on the first encounter due to poor dice rolls. The models are fun to put together and paint unlike Brimstones etc.

I was unfortunate enough to poor and to late for the first kickstarter, which suited my interest just right!
Then everything went down the shitter, I'm talking literally anyone backing that game had no good things to say about it during the long and agonizing wait. Then they waited some more.... and some more... and then they forgot they actually ordered stuff for a lot of money, so they also forgot to be angry. Then it finally came, and it seems everyone had forgotten they waited for ages for this game to be released (hell, people are still even waiting for their stuff!).
And all that was said in reply to this fiasco during the course of time was "I'm an imbecile when it comes to anything beyond a cool idea", and this was repeated several times.

Now that you got a second kickstarter I sadly am in doubt. Not that I still think its a brilliant idea for a game, but I have no faith what so ever in the creators of the product. You can only fuck up so many times before people starts to question your competence.

How do you guys feel? I know Ill get shit for my post from all the fanboys and all the horny neckbeards, but disregard those post, how do you feel about supporting a project like this?

Well I get that the game is good. Hell, even better than good, this is probably one of the best, most well thought game to be released on the market.

Its actual a really long production process. The custom dice alone take 4months to make for most dice retailers and the modelkit/sprue can take almost year to complete a order series. Expect at least a year for delivery though I think last time it took around a year and a half before I got my stuff.

Cant say, I opted for the plastic. I assumed the resin was more for display peices then tabletop use. I prefer the plastic since its just easier to work with, especialy if your doing magnets on the survivors so the gear is interchangable.

Most of the peices are done but the actualy rules are problematic since the power creep past Lantern year 25 is pretty bad and hard to balance. I remember reading some playtests where the characters all just kept wiping on the King and The Scribe Encounters.

My current favourite involves a new campaign with a Frenzy Potion drinker with an axe who obliterated the Spidicules, Butcher and Manhunter almost solo.
Lost 2-3 of the others during each run. We now call her the bloody silent butcher because she also has a disorder where she can't encourage anymore.

Also got a saviour with a Phoenix Ring and now we're seeing if we can make her Immortal.

The Prologue Lion seems to always kill at least 2 people whenever I play him with a notable number of decapitations. In my last run he killed the standard 2 via that method too.

the first comparison doesn't make sense. one is a minotaur, the other is is a devil with a lion's head

second one is a medieval dragon on a medieval castle in a medieval fantasy setting

the only thing that's common between the 3rd ones is the scaly skin and snake's head


kingdom death incorporates the masked ground, seductive demons, tits and rape everywhere and the basic survival of humanity berserk is about. all three are dark fantasy but kingdom death is closer to berserk than dark souls

Alot of Horror work reuses the same "Tropes" there is no innovation since theres nothing new under the sun. I actualy forgot that gif/scene in Berserk. In kingdom Death there is no light except for the lanturns and the ground covered in carved stone faces. Its like living in the Eclipse permanetly from Berserk.

The games really fun and the minitures are easy to assemble and fun to paint.

I want to ask a serious question.

Is playing this game solo worth let's say 1500$... I mean to get EVERYTHING available? Right now on the used / resale market the prices for this are ridiculous and after reading the seemingly crappy rulebooks for the expansions I honestly feel that my kid sister could make a better square grid based game.

Basically this game is only about fap material minis right? How is it better than any other 3D dungeon crawl game like descent or heroquest or warhammer quest et al.

So there's been some talk of doing an update to the core set with the 2nd kickstarter. Any news on what they might be changing? I'm hoping that if anything significant is added I can just get an update package or something. My group loves this game, but there's no way were going to re-buy the entire set.

How much did you pay for the first KS? I hear there are over 14 "expansions" which I guess are just addition minis with a rule book, but they sell for 65 to 130$. The set I saw for sale had 11 different minis/expansions and they got over 1500$ for it. Even at that price it was possible to profit via resale.

So at 400$ it's reasonable? But for only the base set? And does that give you enough to build custom characters and create your own Adventures and/or campaigns?

I thought the game had a rogue -like premise with a base building aspect vs "heroes". Meaning to say that your base afforded the characters to have better weapons etc. before going out to die.

Anyway thanks for the response. I really don't care about the naked minis, but if I get one I want them all.

I missed the Kickstarter, got my core set second hand and have only picked up a few expansions. There is some difficulty getting them at a reasonable price thats for sure.

Gives you enough to build custom characters yes, I suggest doing what I did and using magnets so the armor and weapons are interchangable as you go.

You dont really create your own adventure/campaign but its randomly generated as a sorta choice your own adventure story. Your group deicides what to fight and build and on story events you roll for a outcome that benefits you in one game and can kill your characters in another so each playthrough is unique.

The game is played over 25 Turns called Lanturn years that are you hunting for materials from monsters and building up your settlement with the rewards. You craft your own armor and weapons to fight the next big thing basicaly.

The expansion just add differant possible story events and encounters and new items from them.
You can do perfectly fine without them. I actualy keep my intrest assembling the new figures and painting them.(I get into minis too much)

You can mostly hunt down almost anything you want at 3 levels of difficulty.

You have enough core parts to make all of the figures. You just cant mix and match parts if your using glue for the differant appearances for your character. So you make a base survivor and full white lion set survivor, and a full leather set survivor and on. Why I suggest using magnets so you can attach bases to differant torsos, heads and arms(For differant weapons and armor).
