GET FRICKIN HYPE BOYS!
>>
For real? I don't believe you, but if it's true, holy shit.
>>
>>49725548
You didn't post a link or a reference, you posted a screenshot of a thumbnail to a video and a greentext phrase. If this is the best you can do to create a thread, you might want to lurk more before posting.
>>
>>49725566
Just go watch their fb videos man.
It's just a tease, but everyone has creamed their pants.
>>
>>49725600
I'm just too lazy to bother with the link of the video and if you're too lazy to go to their fb page, what can I say?
>>
>>49725548
On one hand, this kind of video is an obvious opportunity for a troll-joke about SoB.
On the other, it's been so long and drawn out that them joking about it is really bad taste and poor manners.

We've reached a wierd point where despite spending many years on /tg/ and even longer in the hobby, and seeing metric tons of SoB false alarms, I, fore once, don't know what to think about this line.
>>
>>49725670
I really hope they're not just trolling for this one.
>>
>>49725548

And John Blanche
>>
>>49725789
I didn't lie though. The words "plastic sisters of battle" are said in the vid.
Now wether or not it's true or just some trolling by GW to fuck with people that leak stuff is the important part.
>>
that was a damn fast response to the leak today.
>>
>>49725823
they are in the video too
>>
I've been out of the hobby for about 15 years. Were this to be true. I would walk into the local GW shop and just hand them my credit card.

That said, there have been so many sisters rumours and sisters confirmed over the years at this point I won't believe it till I see it.
>>
They're just being cheeky cunts. It's what britbongs were born to do.

Plastic sisters will forever be a meme.
>>
>>49725882
You're pathetic

SoBs only exist because Blanche wanted his bondage nun fetish to be in the game
>>
>>49725937
>40k faction X only exist because Y wanted [insert trivial reference, preference or thing] to be in the game

Sounds about right, for most of the setting.
>>
SoBs and the crybabies who play them deserve to be bullied into oblivion
>>
>>49725965
There's a big difference: each faction is a bunch of trivial references and preferences combined into one thing.

SoBs are literally just John Blanche's sex fetish.
>>
>>49725841
Oh I know. I'm hoping that means that new rules are on the way. Because nobody uses Thousand Sons and they wouldn't make a kit they know doesn't sell.

R-right?

Anon, it's time for bed now, let people enjoy stuff. Hell, I'm not a fan either, but I'm happy other hobbyists will get what they have longed for 20 years.
That's what you should do: be happy others finally have what they want.

I've got well over 2000 points, probably close to 3000 points, worth of actual Sisters models. I would play the current army list forever if they just bothered to add things like formations and keep the details current.

My biggest fear is that they WILL release plastic Sisters and it will change the faction so much in the model range that my entire collection is obsolete, and the lore and aesthetic will change too much for me to be excited about buying anything new.

New regular squad, new celestians, and some sort of combo box for exorcist and immolator? I think what would suffice.
>>

we all know that sisters are gonna be squatted.
>>
>>49729316
Two boxes and one vehicle would be more than enough, though more likely we'll get one core design with some altered sprues based on the unit.

A box of Dominions will just have a few extra Meltas, a box of Seraphim will have a sprue of en-point legs and some jump packs, etc. Just the core Sisters of Battle sprue with extras.

Is GW trying to hop on the /tg/ meme train?
>>
>>49730374

Well just look at Grey Knights, a single box of 5 could cover Dominions, Retributors, Battle Sisters, and Celestians, might need a 2nd box for Seraphim (and I'd love to see a variant with Praesidium Protectivas and melee weapons), and a 3rd for Repentia.

1 vehicle box could cover Rhino, Immolator, and Exorcist, and a 2nd for Penitent (again with probably a variant since GW does that a lot these days)
>>
>>49730628
Just do a box with a second sprue with en-point legs, jump packs, and bolt-pistol-holding arms instead of the heavy weapons sprue.

I'll be honest that as someone who hasn't bought any GW products in about 6 years because I don't like anything what they've been doing as a company that as long as the models are good I'll buy some more Sisters even if the price is outrageous. But the price will determine whether that means "a squad or two to add to my existing Sisters" or "entire new army".
>>

>>
>>49726280
Having browsed the 1d4 wiki, my count is zero. There are zero armies in 40k.
>>
Immolators disappeared entirely from the store a while ago. Makes sense if they're being replaced with a new combo kit since there's zero reason for them to take a plastic kit out of production otherwise.
>>
I can't find a working link to the video. Anyone else having issues?
>>
>>49735259

>>

>>
>>49725548

>>
>>49734205
New red color: Sisters of Battle blood.
>>
>>49730628
They probably pulled the Immolator/Rhino for reboxing, most likely they'll release a new kit that makes the Exorcist and some new kit.
>>
>>49735208
You do know that the only thing missing from the Inmolator kit, in the Exorcist kit is the transperant window.
>>
Releasing a 5 (wo)man box to build the entire army out of would be incredibly dickish. A 10 man Battle Sister box and a separate 5 man Retributor/Dominion box would be believable though.
>>
So, if Sisters do get a rework, what rules updates/changes would you like to see?

Making Acts of Faith actually useful is the top of the list. I've always thought they should be powered by Matyrdom: everytime a unit dies, gain Faith points to spend (kind of like reverse pain-points from the old Dark Eldar codex). Then give them a cheap shitty "Pilgrim" unit of scouting civilians to send forth in front and die for faith points (like cultists).

Beyond that,I'd love to see Seraphim get Jet-packs instead of jump and a Jink save. Since in the fluff they always talk about their insane manoeuvrability, and they weigh less than marines.

Oh yeah, and some kind of AA would be great.
>>
>>49725835

They talk about the Plastic Thousand Sons and the Magnus model, and you get to see the sprues. The Plastic Sisters bit is a windup
>>
>>49736123
Only getting your special abilities after losing units is a fast track to the garbage bin. If I was going to design them it'd be something like Focus points from WMH so there's strategy in spending your points to perform "miracles" by turning the odds in your favour. That said I care little for the rules at this point since the game part of 40k is a trainwreck overall.

What I really want is biker sisters with lances and shields. If we get that I'll be incredibly happy.
>>
>>49736139
You do know those where chaos vehicle upgrade spuer and old chaos warriors?

It kind of annoys me that I can recognize kits at this point. My guess is just years of playing.

>>49736123
Honestly as long the codex is not just a copy paste of the same 3rd edition rules with less shit each edition I'd be happy.

If I can keep playing with it for years to come and be bitch about my "op and broken" unites by the flavor of the month codex I'd be more than happy
>>
>>49736123
This was sort of how it worked under the 3rd edition Witch Hunters codex. Certain units were classed as 'Faithful' and each one gave you a faith point, which could be spent to trigger miracles as and when you required. Whenever a character died, you also got a Faith Point back due to martyrdom.
>>
>>49735012
Except, they don't give a fuck.

They'll be expensive because of people like you "i'll take $300 of sisters whatever that means a full army or 2 squad" means they make $300 no matter what.
>>
>>49736028
Allegedly, they can't produce the small clear bubble window anymore, which is why it was axed.
>>
>>49736178
Not really. Just because I have $300 to spend doesn't necessarily mean I'll spend all that $300 if I don't think I'm getting value for my money.
>>
Considering some random neckbeard literally dug through their trash and ruined months of potential marketing plans and hyping, i won't rule out the plastic sisters quip is just friendly teasing.
>>
>>49735259
Facebook address + /WarhammerTVteam

It's the second post atm, titled 'You totally wanna watch this.'

They 'leak' the new Magnus mini and then make an off-hand joke right at the very end that there is plastic SoBs in their recycling bin.
>>
>>49730628

The issue with SOB and melee has always been 'As long as they are limited to the same melee weapons as marines/guard they are going to suck'. Mostly because those very baseline weapons run off the base strength of the user.

Still, I'd love to see them get some stuff like how the Genestealer cultists got stuff that is very clearly 'Imperial' but not just rejects from the marines.
>>
>>49736181
They kept selling the Immolator without the cupola anyway.
>>
>>49736228
>make an off-hand joke right at the very end that there is plastic SoBs in their recycling bin.

And that right there is the key point. It's not that they are even in the works but that they are being scrapped.
It's a pointless joke about them getting squatted and not even a half-arsed 'being worked on'.
>>
>>49736123

Jet Packs would be very fluffy but would run into the issue that Jet Packs work best with units with the range to actually jump out of enemy range. Seraphim use pistols so they really need to get there fast.

I dunno, maybe they'll go utterly crazy and give them the first Flying Infantry.

I'd like to see them get a few toys (Even if they look similar, blessed swords look rather similar to power swords I'd imagine) that are uniquely them to help separate them from Space Marines a bit.
>>

How are they not knights? The Sisters of Battle are the Order Militant.

They are knights in the sense of the Hospitalers or Knights of Malta. Religious Orders.
>>
I think that sisters need to step away from marines.
Bikes, no matter how fancy, would just be reinforcing the female marines idea.
>>
>>49737074
If you're just going to pull a "simpsons did it" to try and deny things to Sisters, then they'll never get anything.

>>49736396
>>
>>49737034
Because they live in convents, they spend their days in prayer, their leader is an abbess, they are under the church's jurisdiction and so on. It should be obvious to everyone that they're nuns, not knights.
>>
If anything, the fact that genestealer cults got a major release including multiple new infantry kits and a vehicle is the single most compelling argument for sisters getting an update. GW is in the process of putting every single IP it controls on the shelves and they appear to be leaving no stone unturned. Genestealer cults last had models in, what, 1992? Forge World is selling fimir warriors, which are an artifact of WFB 3rd edition. There's now a whole range of plastic AdMech after decades in which the closest thing to it was the IG enginseer; or out-of-production, mid-'90s Skulls figures.

And that, aside, you know that GW has to be casting a covetous gaze at the various Toughest Girls in the Galaxy Kickstarters. The thinking, undoubtedly, is that those backer dollars should rightfully be Citadel's, since the models are only popular because people want new battle sisters.

So, yeah, I can believe that plastic sisters are in development. I don't think that since cheeky Brit popping off about it on a social media video is anything remotely like confirmation, though.
>>
>>49737171

They are also military orders who go on crusades and fight the foes of the church. I'd note that the Knights Hospitaler were Monks as well as Knights and the female equivalent of a Monk is a Nun.
>>
>>49737074
You are right, space marines shouldn't have bikes.
>>
>>49737171
Nuns also do not go into battle.

The Adepta Sororitas includes non-military orders doing nun things, but the Orders Militant are analogous to the Catholic military orders (aka knights) going on crusades and shit.

GIANT CHURCHES ON WHEELS
More crazy Ministronum punishment machines
Sister Sabine leading fanatics
Sister Oblatia using the original Repentia rules, hiding in a Sister squad and leaping out to counter-charge assults, leaving the Sisters free to shoot the enemy at point blank range next turn
One girl microtanks
A whole new tank design that isn't a Rhino, Raider, Russ or Chimmy
Porta-shrines
GIANT CHURCHES ON WHEELS
Sister-portable inferno cannons
Large and Angry Penitent Engine
Solo, Angel Winged Sisters armed with lances like what keeps appearing all through Codex Witch Hunters
Sister Statue Mini Knight Titan
Wheeled Churches. I think I mentioned this one already.
Ornate gothic armoured jeeps.
Hell, have Lance Cavalry on Robo-Horses even if you want to push the knight aspect in spite of IG's Rough Riders but just chucking in bikes is pointless as it doesn't try and develop the Sisters as their own entity, just makes them look like you raided the marine codex for some scraps.

That's the big question in my mind.
How will they make Sisters feel different than Marines.

Sisters have fluff about the holy trinity of bolter, flamer, and melta. All weapons that marines have had for years.

So unless GW goes full retcon / creates new profiles for Sister-Variants. The only way to differentiate them is special rules.

>Personally I wouldn't mind a teamwork special theme, where if an enemy unit was hit by a Special/Heavy variant of one of those 3 weapons the next unit gets a boost
>Bolters - Next SOB unit shooting the same enemy unit rerolls 1 to wound/pen
>Flamer - Next SOB unit shooting the same enemy unit rerolls 1 to hit
>Melta - Next SOB unit shooting the same enemy unit gains Rending

Gives them a distinct feeling (imo) from Marines, give Stormbolters a little love.

>Granted I also wouldn't mind Acts of Faith from Codex: Witchhunters. (Loved the old ones where half were equal and up model count and others were equal and under model count). Current ones just remind me of gimpy psychic powers.
>>
>>49737962

If the Tau hadn't gotten it, I'd have leaned for 'They can overwatch for allies' to fit the short range shooting idea.

They could get some odd HH-era weapons due to 'The Ecclessiarchy has more money than god'
>>
>>49737985
I don't know the fluff, but was there anything in the Deathwatch book that said their Heavy-Bolter/Heavy-Flamer Combigun was Deathwatch only?

If not could totally dig SOB getting Heavy Combi-guns
>>
>>49738037

It would honestly do wonders for the Retributors if they could get 1-shot heavy flamers on top of the other heavy weapon they have. Might actually make people take Heavy Bolters if they came with a heavy flame volley.
>>
>>49737826
Did she give a time frame?
Because development can easily run into multiple years and that's been the cover for so many false rumours in the past. They don't give a time frame of give it so far out that by the time comes to pass, no one even remembered what was said any more.

Not calling Atia a liar, they've been quite accurate really, but pretty much any rumour about the Sisters is complete bullshit at this point.

>Sister Sabine
My brain went somewhere else and I realised there must be a drawfag for that.
Grenadier sisters?
>>
>>49739209
Sisters Sabine are sent to human occupied worlds that don't yet have contact with the Imperium or are reestablishing contact after a long time without, to bring the light of the Emperor to them.
This may involve anything from simple missionary work to full on false Jesus scams using tech to fake miracles.
They also do general missionary and priest work in pilgrimage locations.
They are not unknown in rousing fanatic groups into a full violent frenzy.

Though Grenadier Sisters are another we can add to the list.
>>
>>49725548
They already announced that they are re-releasing their catalog as made to order.

I am betting it is just the old mold, but using plastic instead of pewter.
>>
>>49725548

I spoke to the manager of my LGW today. Sorry to disappoint you guys (myself included) but he said that the mention of plastic SoBs was just GW joking around.

There are no plans to bring back SoB as they were (at the moment at least), but he did hint there's plans for parts of them to return (which to me suggests Sisters of Silence for 30k).
>>
>>49739671

>>

>>49739873
Hey I hope he's wrong, but I don't really see why he'd lie. He brought it up in casual conversation and spoke about it pretty clearly.

It'd also be pretty weird for GW to 'announce' plastic SoB via a video, then not inform any of their staff about it, whilst at the same time informing them about the other stuff mentioned in the video.
>>
>>49726217
Good that nobody fetishizes pink and purple babes with three boobs right?

Or that nobody fetishizes huge hulking men, all oiled up to fit in their armor.

Or that nobody fetishizes biological weapons, living armor and strange aliens with tentacles, pheromones weapons and the like.

By your standart, 40k is fetish party. Nun fetish isn't more or less of a thing than the rest. that argument is bad and stale
>>
>>49736160

No, the thousand sons sprue was actually thousand sons, pause the video and look at it again. But yes, there was also a Chaos vehicle upgrade sprue in the bin: what did GW mean by that?
>>
>>49739925
How about a Vendetta with the wing points being multi meltas and the weapon on the cockpit replaced with an inferno cannon
>>
>>49739801
That is the origin of fine cast
>>
>>49739949
The reason for a casual announcement and not a full on "here's a sprue" is likely due to the army and models themselves still very much being in development. Thousand sons and Magnus are likely a month or so tops from release, Plastic Sisters are likely not going to arrive till at least next year,

I mean, the plastic assasins were made and put on sprues in 2014 but didnt see a release till 2015, so theres quite a bit of long term planning in terms of releases.

The average GW manager or grunt isnt going to know when they're releasing them, because GW likely doesnt know exactly when exactly theyre going to be released either.

Sisters are at least getting new vehicles, there was a post on Faeit about Tom Walton mentioning that he was working on an army that he had never worked on before, which after some digging left only AoS, Orks, and Sisters has possible choices. AoS doesn't have vehicles.

>Forge World is selling fimir warriors, which are an artifact of WFB 3rd edition.

The Fimir actually aren't entirely new, they appeared for Fantasy in Monstrous Arcanum, which came out a few years ago along with the models.

It wouldn't surprise me if the model they just put on sale, which would have also been a unit upgrade under Fantasy rules, wasn't simply something put on the shelf after Warhammer Forge was closed.

A lot of folks seem to be debating the veracity of whether or not plastic sisters of bettle is promised or even implied by this video.

While I refuse to believe anything until such time as I actually see models, I think this video *may* be truthful.

Recently we have seen turn over in the management of GW. Soon after the return of specialist games was announced to the joy of fanbase. Since then, GW has regularly expanded their line with many niche armies, again to the joy of the fanbase.

Games Workshop has gone to great lengths to regain the goodwill of their customers. It seems unlikely that they would jeopardize such hard won good will with what would be flippant remark were it untrue and, as many have said, said in jest.

Furthermore, in the last couple of years many miniature manufactures have started to produce alternatives to GW produced Sisters of Battle. Most notably, Ragin' Heroes have seen great success (no matter how people feel about them one way or the other) and in all likelihood Games Workshop may see that revenue as "rightfully theirs" (whether it actually is or not).

As such I believe we may live to see Plastic Sisters, maybe even with in the next year.

Of course this could all be wrong.
>>
>>49746949

I would fucking love this just to see the whine from space Marine players.
>>
>>49746958
>As such I believe we may live to see Plastic Sisters, maybe even with in the next year.

The last batch of reliable rumours was for deathwatch stuff, GScult stuff, heresy stuff and Tzeentch stuff.

That's all this year. So the only other rumour we have left is for a new edition in July? I think next year.

Considering the comment of "these aren't coming out for months" meaning not years, I think a reasonable estimate for the Sisters release is March next year.
>>
>>49747119

Well, that would be within the next year.

>>
Is it even possible to make the faces look anywhere near as good as they do in the art? If I ever played them I'd just want them to all wear their helmets
>>
>>49752501
>It's pretty retarded
The SoS and the SoB do attract the kind of vocal hipster that gets on people's tits, though.
>>
>>49752704
Like every not-well represented 40k faction?

Like genestealer cults and Admech a while back?
>>
>>49752704
I've had a relatively small closed gaming group for a long while, but I was looking to try getting some more people into our Mordheim game. If I am playing a SoS warband any kind of behavior explicitly you'd recommend avoiding?
>>
>>49752501
This. It's a horseshoe case of autistic neckbeards having more in common than they think with the tumblerinas they detest
>>
>>49752652
I dunno, is it even possible for them to wear diapers like they do in the fluff?
>>
>>49726289
I wouldn't be too worried, anon. Lol at all the releases lately that have been done based on really really old fluff/models. Genestealer cult is pretty faithful to the old designs, just updated to modern tech for the most part. And they didn't radically redesign the available units, if anything they'll probably just add a few new options.
>>
>>49753322
But look at Deldar
Old Deldar look like shit when compared to the new sets

And several units got a total redesign- mandrakes became spooky shades, these flesh-crafting guys with long name got more arms and started flying
>>
>>49736123
I could see it working like a reverse version of the blood for the blood god rule from the khorne daemonkin codex, where you get points from your things doing for army wide buffs. I think they changed the old power from pain because it's too much bookkeeping to do these sorts of things on an individual basis.
>>
>>49736231
Melta. Swords.
>>
>>49736520
It's something that would set them apart from marines. Plus, sisters really are the ones with more medieval iconography overload, so it makes some sense.
>>
Fuck this shit. Where are my Squats at?
>>
>>49753671
in 30k.

you can build an army of +1T, -1I 3+ BS4 guardsmen with +1str guns

>new penitent engine model and rules

They'll be worse than what we currently have. PE have taken a nerfing every single codex SoB have had from WH onwards and PE weren't even good then. I'm actually convinced its malicous intent rather than being incompetant as nobody can be so incompetant to keep nerfing one of the worst units in the game for a decade straight (considering the buff repentia have had).
>>
I for one look forward to making Slaanesh SoB's.

Why, thank you.
>>
>>49753741
That's not gonna make plastic Squats avaliable now will it?
>>
>>49753346
Yeah but that was what, 6 years ago? More? In the past few years GW had clearly been taking a lot more inspiration their back catalogue and doing it pretty faithfully. Even the Lord of Skulls was pretty close to an old epic model.
>>
>>49753949
>Template Melta

How does that work?
>>
>>49753975
Are you too lazy to convert or something?
>>
>>49754030
Yes. Also, just sticking sci-fi guns on fantasy dwarves looks dumb as shit.

Srill wouldn't make it viable because its not an excorcist.
>>
>>49754271
But not all templates are the same size. For example the green ones are slightly larger than the clear ones. Also, you're going to hold both a tape measure and a flame template at the same time?
>>
>>49754331
Swap them to the Elite slot like other Dreadnoughts.
That would make them way more appealing.
Or give them the +2 attacks all other dreads got aswell.
If bloodangel can have 8 attacks on charge(deathcompany), surely a dedicated melee penitent can have get 7 on charge.

That at face value still doesn't make them worth anything - for a CC focused choppy wealker thats no faster than infantry but pays close to dread price while being inferior in every single way means no matter which slot they live in they are a waste of time.

Christ in elites they'd make celestians look good.

How about 1 squadron as a unique troop choice?
>>
>>49754649
As someone that use them a lot. They work better as suicid bombers or area denial. They either explode due to them being open top and the aboundance of AP2 in melee will result into this fucker explodIng.

If PE could run and assault or at least more like skitarii chickens, they could be better. Otherwise they need a lot of cover, planning and luck to work.

Or your opponent being a retard and ignoring them.
>>
>>49754737

I don't think you grasp the problem. Moving slots around won't make PE good - they are overcosted for what they do bu a huge margin.

>>49754848

Nothing a PE really should be stabbing in CC gives a fuck about an exploding vehicle. They are meant to be suicide linebreakers but the reality is they implode at the sight of anything remotely good (read: a tactical squad is a serious threat to them).
>>
>>49754882
Make them into MCs, give them an Act of Faith.
ENGINES OF WAR.
This turn can run and charge on the same turn and gain fleet and rampage.
>>
How about just giving sisters dreads again? It fits GW's MO of going old school lately.

Is that a twin-linked heavy flamer under the CQC weapon?

>>
>>49754984
Well, according to FW (in IA vol. 2), there is the Unification pattern dreadnought, which works on non-Marines, unlike the Contemptor and Castaferrum. Fat chance we'll ever get to see it in 30k, let alone in 40. Because dear God the Army was anything more than 30k Guard with Guard equipment. Not like I've waited for almost two decades for the ability to field a proper HH era Army... army with Rhinos, Predators, bikes, Land Speeders, and Land Raiders. Just like I've read in scraps of fluff scattered here and there.
>>
>>49756060

Those scraps of fluff were retconned. The REAL army is what FW has given us, regardless of whether or not it hurts your fee-fees.
>>
>>49754984
>>49755036
That was a fanmade model using GW's vehicle design rules, the pic is from an Australian White Dwarf. Sisters never officially had Dreadnoughts.

Still do

On a sidenote, the formatting of the rulebook pdf is atrocious. And the epubs are even worse. It's kinda impressing in a way.
>>
>>49755807

Except the vehicle datafax clearly says that it's an inferno cannon, which by the way was just a S6 flamer in the 3rd edition.
