>>
>>49725398
Every day is a rough day for a batmarine
>>
Cant wait for 40k to get sigmar'd and not be allowed to play heresy in the local GW
>>
>>49725917
Lots of GW stores already dont allow HH because it is sold by FW and not in their store
>>
>>49726068
But they literally sell heresy miniatures in their shop
>>
Every time I get into Warhammer, they fucking switch editions and my list is worthless
>>
>>49726145
ive actually been told by my local gw manager I cant play 30k in the store
>>
>>49726211

First off he is being an ass and driving away potential customers.

Second off, call corporate and they will sort him out.
>>
>>49726145
They don't sell 30k, only B@C. All the resin stuff is not that welcome, they don't want the little timmys get excited for something they can't buy right there and then.
>>
>>49726278
>only contemptor dreadnoughts, MkIV marines with HH era weapons and equipment, Cataphractii terminators with HH era weapons and equipment, and soon MkIII marines with HH era weapons and equipment, Tartaros terminators with HH era weapons and equipment, HH era characters and Adeptus Custodes

FTFY
>>
>>49726266
I knew a guy that emailed customer support on a similar issue regarding warhammer fantasy and gw said he can ban any games that arent 40k or Aos. The dude that emailed corporate got banned a few weeks later
>>
>>49726386

30k is 40k.

It is different as far as armies go, but it's playable with GW armies also.

Fantasy and AOS are quite different however.

Still, a dumbass redshirt might not understand that. Why was the guy banned?
>>
>>49726386
HH is 40k Supplement.
>>
>>49726435
>Why was the guy banned?
dunno had something to do with a review on facebook

>>49726454
yeah but I guess since it wasn't "GW" he didn't like it
>>
>>49726524

So what are people who buy b@c supposed to do? Twiddle their fingers and get the fuck out? It seems needlessly confrontational.
>>
>>49726693

use them for their 40k space marine armies
>>
>>49726693
play the B@C game ofcourse.

It is its own game, not just for 30k models
>>
>>49726205
Maybe stick around into the new edition and learn to play
>>
>>49726816
what happens if you just bought the individual squads and not the game?
>>
>>49727102
Then you wait for the GW produced Horus heresy books obviously

>>
>>49727102
Then they'll want you to play 40k because the rulebook and codices are available from the store. FW's books are not.
>>
Keep in mind GW redshirts are under pressure to sell stuff in the store. At some point the pressure becomes high enough that they care more about store sales than overall GW/FW sales and customer relations.
>>
Reading the Magnus and 40k general threads makes me so comfy that we have our own general, I am honestly suprised how normie they are

>>
>>49727234
I've seen to what strange things the pressure to sell the managers get driven. In one GW store if anybody but the manager talk to somebody new walking in, they are in serious trouble because "Maybe I would have been able to convince them to buy something" even if the person in question only walked in because he was looking for directions to the train station

WTF is happening to GW, first Magnus and now plastic SoB?

I know it's not 30k but still...
>>
>>49728207
I'm excited. I don't know about you guys, but most of the gamers in my area still play 40k so this just means more army diversity when I can bring my imperial fists and upcoming world eaters armies to play games. I'd love to play against a new sisters or genestealer cult army to be honest.
>>
>>49728281
I prefer these kinds of releases over the "Oh hey look what we found in the armoury after 10k years ! No, of course we had these all along, why do you ask" 40k releases were turning into lately
>>
>>49728207
Plastic thousand sons may be relevant to 30k though, if they end up retconning the rubic to be during the heresy rather than afterwards. Or hell, maybe some people will want bitz (helmets etc.) from such a set even if they don't want the whole tzeentch-marked package (I'm assuming those models will be covered in tzeentch logos anyway).

There's a sprue thats MkIII plus chaos stuff, that looks like the new rubric marines so I wouldnt be surprised if GW brought the flesh change back into the 40k 1ksons and if thats the case then that could be a cool kit to make a coven of flesh changed HH-era thousand sons.

guys help I don't know how to build a world eaters berserker assault for 2000 points

1995/2000

Kharn with Gorechild 190 pts
Gahlan Surlak 110 pts

Troops
20 x Inductii, Pistols + Chainaxes, Vexilla, Sgt with Melta Bombs, 240 pts

20 x Tacticals with additional CCW (Chainaxe), Vexilla, Sgt with Melta Bombs, 280 pts

20 x Tacticals with additional CCW (Chainaxe), Vexilla, Sgt with Melta Bombs, 280 pts

Elites

5 x Red Butchers, double the Power Axes, Sgt with Chainfist, 285 pts

2 x Apothecaries, 2 Augury Scanners, 100 pts

LoW
Stormlord, completely naked, 490 pts

Gahlan + Inductiis is one unit, Kharn + Butchers is another. Both groups go in the Storm Lord. Storm Lord is flanked on either side by Tactical Blobs with Augury Scanners that can move all fast like to get into position and also screw up deep strikers trying to Melta my tank. So far this list has literally no AA, but I think I'd actually dust off and repaint my Imperial Knights for an allied detachment to bring it to 3k points. Lots of Knights, lots of marines. I basically want an army that isn't tons of tanks.

Yeah just one big one. Some may consider a low at 2000 points to be a bit cheesy but also it's quite a nice target for a tank hunter lascannon squad. Also you have little anti tank.
>>
>>49729396
should I only use something like a Stormlord for 2500 or above then?
>>
>>49729195
In A Thousand Sons Magnus extends the haft of his axe at some point to turn it into a staff. The warp probably did the rest

Interesting that with both Fantasy and 40k end times, the first big awesome model we get is one of the most powerfull magi in the setting

Why not Assault Marines? I mean Tacticals are fine but they'll never reach combat by walking and putting all your eggs in a stormlord basket isnt such a good idea.
>>
>>49729462
If the codexes are to be believed, every named psyker of every marine chapter. Though GK Librarians are also supposed to be rediculeously OP, so there are a lot of contenders
>>
>>49729427
In HH, 2000 points are considered small games in which you can't really build a "take all comers" force, so yes, most people stay away from primarchs and other Lord of War entries. It's a very one-dimension list anyway, and will get old fast. I'd be tempted to take smaller squads in Rhinos at that points level, with a large backfield blob (i.e. not the end of the world if it can't reach its objectives on foot).

On the other hand, the Stormlord isn't that bad.

He'd work as a plastic lord of change, if you could get a big enough bird head for it.

Alternatively you could use something like a Reaper Miniatures Groloth head, make your lord of change a lovecraftian octopus man
>>
>>49729571
I've got my eye on those plastic MK3 coming next month or December, so I'm trying to use a lot of Tacticals and attach Chainaxes "holstered" kinda like combat blades. I'm going for a sophisticated clean white and blue look before they get their gauntlets bloody.

>>49729743
that works too, what about 2 x 10 tacticals in rhinos and then a 20 man tactical blob with Gahlan that starts in the stormlord but gets dropped off along the way midfield? stormlord is open topped so they can disembark wherever on turn one or two while moving up. 4+ FNP blob that's scoring sounds tasty.

The forge of souls could fulfill that and Im sure the Dark Mechanicum is totally aligned with that realm which is neutral in the great game of chaos, who rules that realm? Really, it depends on if there's a 30k community near you. It's more niche than 40k, and far less likely to be played at a GW.

I got into it for the modelling aspect, and am going to build an army that I'll never play, even if I do theorycraft and listbuild and meme on here all day.
>>
So, I'm trying to think of how I should build my World Eaters Praetor, and I'm kind of at a creative loss. Is a Paragon Blade and Power Fist a decent idea (what with them both being specialist weapons), or am I wasting time? Is cataphractii armour worth it? Seems like just having a regular dude with an iron halo would be better.
>>
>>49733696
Unless you want to make one of the tankiest Praetors, Cataphractii isn't worth it.

Tartaros, or Artificer is what you want.

Can you give them a Power Fist AND a Paragon Blade? I've always wondered about stuff like that, always confused me.
>>
>>49733796
the sentence is worded so weirdly it's hard to tell. I don't think so because the wargear options ends with "...for one of the following"
>>
>>49733796
>A Legion Praetor may exchange either their bolt pistol and/or chainsword/combat blade for one of the following: [list of weapons and costs]
>>
>>49734236
So yes, you can in other words. Any time it specifies you being able to replace both your ccw and pistol, it allows the acquisition of 2 new weapons of whatever flavour, {even if one of those weapons blocks the additional CCW bonus}.
>>
>>49734253
No, it's and/or for *one* weapon, the and/or is in there because the heavy chainsword is an option and presumably you're trading both in because it's a 2 handed weapon

Unless there's been some clarification on this?

still building that 2000 point world eaters list around the stormlord, should I just give up and do 2500 instead since the stormlord already eats up 500 points? really love the model but its a pain to work into a list. was also thinking of doing the crimson path RoW with 2 x 10 inductii as a troop tax, chuck them in the storm lord as cannon fodder ahead of the red butchers, and then outflank sniper vets with apothecaries for some sweet, SWEET 4+ FNP.

figured out how to use BattleScribe on my PC. lets see if this picture of my list works. went for 2 minimal tax tactical squads turned into inductii to act as cannon fodder for my red butchers, red butchers are joined by gahlan for 4+ FNP and kharn for warlord, all of that in the stormlord...then two outflanking rhinos that'll unload sniper vets with apothecaries for 4+ FNP in the enemy deployment zone. basically an entire army with FNP and it feels good. I've got like 170 points left over...would 3 land speeders with multi meltas work? I just need some anti tank, but I'm not too worried about the 2000 point level, will get more robots for 2500.
>>
>>49734720
I need to get me some chinacast. FW is just too expensive. Sadly, I can't seem to find much that isn't the character series.
>>
>>49734976
changed the list a bit, added multi-meltas to the veteran rhinos and two land speeders with graviton guns. figured that would be a decent amount of tank opening power at 2000 points. still 39 points leftover though.
>>
>>49734976
A pair of Javelin speeders with lascannons and multi meltas will run you 150. They've got better armor, get Outflank and Strafing Run on top of Deep Strike and you can use the points spare for HK missiles or other army upgrades.

Bit bigger than a landspeeder. There's a size comparison here: https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Legion-Javelin-Attack-Speeder-with-Lascannon

The rules for including odd stuff in your legions has changed IIRC, I don't know if you can just have any old imperial super-heavy tank any more - there's a list or something

Not sure if the mechanicum can though, seeing as they actually make the things, and make whatever they want.

Or you do the sensible thing and talk to your opponent about it

When? I'm sure that a faction can be your-duded with some imagination, ie. Word Bearers' Mech Auxiliaries, Legion inducted robots etc.

>How far down the hole is too much for DarkMech in regard to Chaos "research"?
Battle automata already border tech-heresy. In fact many Taghmata codex entries (Ursarax, Revenant Adsecularis, Thanatar Cynis) are regarded as heretek by the more puritanical factions.
As for how far would Dark Mech go, remember:
>"You may say, it is impossible for a man to become like the Machine. And I would reply, that only the smallest mind strives to comprehend its limits" .
This is a quote by Fabricator General Kane, a loyalist. Now imagine how far would radical Dark Mech go.
A commonly seen tactic, besides the regular daemon-infused machine, is to use psykers and Titan Principes' torture screams as oscilators to generate scrapcode and interference, such as on Phall and the Witch Wall.

Palatine Blades with all platinum plate, equally lustrous gold trim, and reserving purple for tabards, plumes, and other soft material embellishments. Fluff supports it, but it's actual aesthetic merit is what I'm wondering at. Good idea y/n

We are clarity of intent and purpose, it's only that our world is one of endless violence and our only mercy is quick death, close and personal.
>That is our honour, that is our glory.
>Our brothers think us shackled, hounds of war to be pointed at the enemy and set loose. Let then think what they may inside their bunkers, behind their barricades and guns, holding broken chains in dulled hands with broken souls. They do not ask, we do not answer. That's why only we are brothers, and no one else. Because we are War, and nothing else.

I have always thought the Nails reveal you the secrets of the universe. It's only tragedy that the truth makes you reeeeeeaaally angry about it.

gib lore reasons mang
>>
>>49743591
Aight.

My company was a relatively new formation at the time of Angron's return to the Legion. I figured that World Eaters companies would typically be roughly 250-300 men strong, and that the Legion as a whole would be at least partially smaller than the legion at it's height of 130,000 marines at Istvaan III.

The as yet unnamed company's first major action was the campaign of Golgotha, which resulted in significant World Eaters losses and atrrition. The company earned its first major laurels of victory in defence of a major manufactorum at Sarum, and were allowed to fold leftover units from other companies and command cadres into their ranks, and had become a permanent numerical institution in the World Eaters records and lines of battle.
>>
>>49743710
I forgot to mention specifically that I estimated the legion strength at the time of the company's formation to be between 60,000 and 70,000 strong, being just prior to a significant recruiting drive under the leadership of Angron.

>>
>>49743710
So why exactly the number 245?
You could always use Greek numerals, 245=ΣΜΕ or σμε(overlined), perhaps meta-linking the company number being in Greek as opposed to Roman to the fact that the company was formed before Angron was found (gladiators fought in Rome, Greece reached its height before the rise of Rome just in case, though I believe everyone here's educated a bit more than an average guy).

Death from the Skies expansion for 40k, don't bother it's shit (adds 3 rounds of rock-paper-sissors and randomly nerfs 1/3 of the fliers)

If there's new companies being formed when the legion was between 60-70k strong, and companies were around 250-300 marines each, then a newloy formed company would be numbered somewhere between 240-260 or some shit like that.

And thanks for the suggestion; I could use Greek. The Taghmata Omnissiah seems to use it pretty often, and that could be a cool visual queue that ties my company to their allies.

Ordnance 2 S10 AP1.

That means it fires twice, and has a bonus to armor penetration.

AP1 gives a +2 on the Vehicle Damage table, which means at minimum you get Crew Shaken, rather than Crew Stunned.

>But how would a Heavy flamer benefit from Tank Hunters?
Well Al, this is more from a fluff/history standpoint, but irl flamethrowers were pretty good at taking out vehicles in WWI and beyond, because you do not want to be in a hot metal box. You definitely do not want to be in a metal box that is literally on fire. You REALLY do not want to be in a metal box whose ammunition could be cooked off from said flames.
>>
>>49745090
>outflanking sniper vets
Oh, I thought you wanted to use a lot of Butchers. Sure that'll work too. They'll benefit even more from Rage since they can bring a lot of power weapons. Maybe some distraction dreads (like Leviathans) can allow the rest of your army to catch up to them.
>>49745097
>irl
Well that's the thing, vehicles on the tabletop are utterly immune to most forms of flame. And then you pull out the melta blowtorch guns. And then they coat the tanks in reentry-grade ceramite.
I know Warhammer is WW1 in spess, but how hot would a modern tank get from a flamethrower?

This is true, but I'm an autist who thinks MkIII is for Hardened armor and Artificer armor only.

By the decree of the Ordo Chronos, this anachronistic Commissar is to be destroyed by use of a Red Hunter tactical marine.

They don't have much of it. The best by far is the two Horus Heresy novels and they're pretty recent. The Tau campaign was pretty recent too. Not much before that - you really had to like Mongols (which I know some military history buffs do). And you have to get over their color scheme.

I love them after reading those novels, but they describe them as wearing white (ivory, so a warm white) with red and gold trim and that breaks all the rules of making a good, contrasting scheme on the color wheel.

Ordered some recast recon squads. Any experience with shipping times? Mine is estimated at anywhere from the end of the month until December???

I'm not super concerned it just seems crazy long. Anyway, is there any good comparison pix of FW marines vs GW ones? I could've sworn there was a difference but I can't find anything.
>>
>>49747276
Man, I'd be all over the new box if it had Cataphractii.
>>
>>49747476
Last time I ordered from some Chinese friends it took about 2 weeks. The estimated time is super long, but it's usually much quicker.

>Anyway, is there any good comparison pix of FW marines vs GW ones?

I think the legs on FW MkIV are skinnier or something, but I haven't seen a lot of direct comparison

I'm hoping the wait is similar.

No, the 25% rule is for all points values. Once your list hits 2k, then you can bring LoWs that are 500 points or less. The army book has a section in the beginning that explains this better.

Surely you could come to a gentlemans agreement about it, you can take ashen circle and paint everyone else in the old colour scheme but not the other special units

Mate, it clearly says that you must play at 2k+ to TAKE a Lords of War choice. Said choice must cost 25% or less of 2,000, which means at 2k you can have a 500 point LoW, to turn it into a 2500 point game.
