Gahlan + Inductiis is one unit, Kharn + Butchers is another. Both groups go in the Storm Lord. Storm Lord is flanked on either side by Tactical Blobs with Augury Scanners that can move all fast like to get into position and also screw up deep strikers trying to Melta my tank. So far this list has literally no AA, but I think I'd actually dust off and repaint my Imperial Knights for an allied detachment to bring it to 3k points. Lots of Knights, lots of marines. I basically want an army that isn't tons of tanks.

In HH, 2000 points are considered small games in which you can't really build a "take all comers" force, so yes, most people stay away from primarchs and other Lord of War entries. It's a very one-dimension list anyway, and will get old fast. I'd be tempted to take smaller squads in Rhinos at that points level, with a large backfield blob (i.e. not the end of the world if it can't reach its objectives on foot).

On the other hand, the Stormlord isn't that bad.

The forge of souls could fulfill that and Im sure the Dark Mechanicum is totally aligned with that realm which is neutral in the great game of chaos, who rules that realm? Really, it depends on if there's a 30k community near you. It's more niche than 40k, and far less likely to be played at a GW.

So, I'm trying to think of how I should build my World Eaters Praetor, and I'm kind of at a creative loss. Is a Paragon Blade and Power Fist a decent idea (what with them both being specialist weapons), or am I wasting time? Is cataphractii armour worth it? Seems like just having a regular dude with an iron halo would be better.

still building that 2000 point world eaters list around the stormlord, should I just give up and do 2500 instead since the stormlord already eats up 500 points? really love the model but its a pain to work into a list. was also thinking of doing the crimson path RoW with 2 x 10 inductii as a troop tax, chuck them in the storm lord as cannon fodder ahead of the red butchers, and then outflank sniper vets with apothecaries for some sweet, SWEET 4+ FNP.

figured out how to use BattleScribe on my PC. lets see if this picture of my list works. went for 2 minimal tax tactical squads turned into inductii to act as cannon fodder for my red butchers, red butchers are joined by gahlan for 4+ FNP and kharn for warlord, all of that in the stormlord...then two outflanking rhinos that'll unload sniper vets with apothecaries for 4+ FNP in the enemy deployment zone. basically an entire army with FNP and it feels good. I've got like 170 points left over...would 3 land speeders with multi meltas work? I just need some anti tank, but I'm not too worried about the 2000 point level, will get more robots for 2500.

My company was a relatively new formation at the time of Angron's return to the Legion. I figured that World Eaters companies would typically be roughly 250-300 men strong, and that the Legion as a whole would be at least partially smaller than the legion at it's height of 130,000 marines at Istvaan III.

The as yet unnamed company's first major action was the campaign of Golgotha, which resulted in significant World Eaters losses and atrrition. The company earned its first major laurels of victory in defence of a major manufactorum at Sarum, and were allowed to fold leftover units from other companies and command cadres into their ranks, and had become a permanent numerical institution in the World Eaters records and lines of battle.

Well Al, this is more from a fluff/history standpoint, but irl flamethrowers were pretty good at taking out vehicles in WWI and beyond, because you do not want to be in a hot metal box. You definitely do not want to be in a metal box that is literally on fire. You REALLY do not want to be in a metal box whose ammunition could be cooked off from said flames.

Oh, I thought you wanted to use a lot of Butchers. Sure that'll work too. They'll benefit even more from Rage since they can bring a lot of power weapons. Maybe some distraction dreads (like Leviathans) can allow the rest of your army to catch up to them.

Well that's the thing, vehicles on the tabletop are utterly immune to most forms of flame. And then you pull out the melta blowtorch guns. And then they coat the tanks in reentry-grade ceramite.

is there ever a reason to take 5 sniper vets in a rhino instead of 10? I wanted an apothecary to join the unit but if you do anything other than 5 or 10 vets...the points get...fucky. and it's pretty much impossible to hit an even number.
