Becoming a demon primarch gives you a small power boost (based on the only one we've ever seen in Demon and Mortal form, albeit seperated by...I want to say 2 editions? Which was Angron), but it comes with the minor annoyance of being subject to demonic instability and having your true name being a cheap way to detonate your demonic ass.

Its also worth noting that Mort really didn't want to become a demon primarch, and basically was tortured into becoming the thing he hates most. What effect this had on him is unknown

It's not

Someone talked to one of the sculptors for the Primarchs at a FW event and he basically hinted at plastic Daemon Primarchs saying that he was much more interested in seeing what could be done in plastic.

Plus it's probably a load off of FW's shoulders considering it seems to take at least half a year to finish a Primarch. Dorn and Alpharius still need models to go along with their rules and Magnus may only be halfway done.

Yeah, I remember when the 6th Edition codex first came out and I considered making a TS army that I realized to be in sync with the lore it'd be somewhat hard to justify taking infantry that weren't Thousand Sons.

This is a problem all of the Cult Legions face. All World Easters are Berserkers, all Death Guard are Plague Marines, All or a majority of Emperor's Children are Noise Marines.
