>Memorize them. Be able to rattle off DF and WP and Wk by heart.
And that's entirely unecessary, especially if one just reads the cards.
Knowing which things are (0) actions, or once a turn only etc. is far more important than memorising the easily checked statline anyway.
In principle though I agree with AutistAnon, RTFC and you avoid 99% of the retarded mistakes too many people make.

I don't know man, forcing discards and granting +2 Armour looks like good value compared to the Proxy.
Though I suppose stacked against the master-specific totems they're probably dogshit, yes.

Primordial Magic is pretty good though, at least compared to a lot of totems like the Cherub. The Malifaux Child has its uses as well.

Yeah, they're the three that are actually worth a goddamn: Primordial Magic (Rush of Magic machine), Malifaux Child (You have a casting action? I have a casting action!) and the Kamitachi.

He's middle, leaning high. When I was just starting out, the person teaching me used Von Schill because he was easy to understand what he did. Gremlins are fucked in a campaign, because of Injuries, though.

Well first I think of getting past armor which makes me think Wong and glowy, but then I remember blasts and pulses aren't so good against Freikorp. The new Swine Cursed can get past armor and are decent melee dudes.

I would say Schill is good at what he does. Marching around supporting his guys in a bubble that's hard to break up. The problem is that can't score well on all schemes and strategies so try to beat him there. Haven't played him much so can't realy say.

I want to make a custom shadow emmisary for my brewmaster. I'm thinking about copying the basic shape of the dragon but making it out of casks of beer instead, maybe even having the alcohol forming the dragons head and connecting all the barrels together.

This might be a silly question but how much is Malifaux like Warmahordes in the sense that it's really all about combos and less about good strategy?
>>
>>49702257
It is like that, especially for certain masters, but far less so than warmahordes overall.
>>
>>49702257
I'm a WM/H Press Ganger and
There's way, way way more thinking involved in all aspects of Malifaux
>>
>>49702257
Combos will make things die in Malifaux, if you spend the resources on them. Malifaux is not a game about killing. "I drop a scheme marker and move to cover" is often all the combo you need, but you need the strategy to know where and when to do it safely. I'd been playing Malifaux exclusively for about a month while some mates were away on vacation, and going back to Hordes after has been a fascinating experience.
>>
>>49702257
Less combo focused than Warmahordes, but it certainly leans towards a more card game esque style of gameplay like Warmachine. That said I would say that more of it is about good strategy than you may think.

2 original style, unaltered for tournaments (in case someone is unsure what the others are models for).
2 traditional samurai style, with chest bindings and chonmage
3 delinquents, two male with pompadour and street weapons (one bokken, one nailbat, i think) and one using the TTB character kit, female.

Super simple, make some rocks from cork, drill some holes with your pinning tool and use a small pin (no bigger than a paper clip) and attach them to the base. Paint the rocks grey, then prime your base white, don't worry about getting the bottoms of the rocks with some blowback it will only help later.
So with an airbrush I used Cygnus yellow as the base coat, then added in some of the necrite green until I was happy with the result, and finished it with a wash of secret weapon fallout wash.

>>

Fluff-wise? Waldgeists. Nekima (And correspondingly, the starter box guys). Graves and Tannen if the implications about what the Mimic keyword means are true.
>>
>>49704836
Gameplay wise, not sure where to go with the crew
>>
>>49704845
I think Nekima and doppleganger are good choices, Waldgeists are always a good choice, especially when you wanna give zero fucks and drop schemes everywhere. Her box set is pretty solid, Not sure if I like her totem or pukey, pretty sure you'd be fine with either. Maybe consider some Insidious madnesses or the widow weaver to really make the thirsty roots a pain in the dick. I'd also consider the Emissary for the Changling spawning and dangerous terrain summoning.
>>
>>49704836
Mimic keyword implication?
Could you please spell this out to someone who hasn't read the book yet?
>>
>>49705018
Fae are beings that existed in Malifaux before the Neverborn, before humanity, and are heavily implied to have built Malifaux City.
Titania was a queen of the Fae.
When she awoke, she felt for her people, but found only half-things, things that were like fae, but astoundingly weaker.
But then she felt Something Else, something that was familiar to her, but she couldn't place. She realized it was because it was trying to hide itself.
She looked at what it was doing, and liked its style, its way of ordering around underlings and using them, so she went to talk to it.
Smash cut to Lucius' office, and him thinking about how nice it is to be in control of so much with the Governor General gone. Then Titania shows up, proves her power to him, and demands an audience with the leaders of the Neverborn.
When she leaves, Lucius muses on how long it's been since he looked on the world as himself. He spends some time thinking about how long he's been wearing the mask, and if he even remembers who he was before he wore it.

>>49705113
>>
>>49705139
There's an implication there, yes. Personal theory is that Lucius was a mid-ranking Fae who got while the getting was good. A lot of people like to think he used to be Oberon. I think he's going to become Oberon in Titania's new court.
>>
>>49705018
Other things we learned from the book (stated or heavily implied)
Titania killed all the Tyrants. By herself. She's sorta known for it, in fact.
Her people turned on her and killed her because what the fuck.
When enough magic gathers in one place in Malifaux, a breach forms to Earth.
Tyrants absorb magic of their 'type' - that is, Cherufe draws on and absorbs all kinds of Fire magic, December draws on and absorbs all kinds of Ice magic, etc.
Titania killed a shitload of Fae before being put in the ground (literally).
Time Passed. Humanity entered Malifaux. They found a city, built to the specifications of royalty, with all sorts of infrastructure and built up and untouched, and no Neverborn.
Zoraida saw what Humanity was doing to Malifaux (How old IS that woman?) and decided to stop it. Jack Daw existed even then, and she empowered his corpse to act as a magic sink and absorb the ambient magic.
Time passes, the breach closes, and the Neverborn are formed. Note that the Neverborn as we know them didn't exist until Humanity showed up, and a lot of them are in the shape of humans' fears and hatreds.
Also note the the shit that happened to Malifaux City near when the Breach closed - unexplained fires, plague, harsh winters...All sounds somewhat familiar, yes?
Anyway, time passes, and the Breach re-opens.
Humanity returns. Zoraida gets backto work.
Malifaux 1st edition and 2e books 1-3 happen. Side note: Jack Daw woke up. Consider the Implications.
Governor General attempts to become a Tyrant. Zoraida arranges things to try to stop him. Lucius does the same. They somewhat counter each other.
Zoraida tries to turn G-G into another magic sink, half-fails. Lucius tries to stop him from ascending to Tyrant-hood. Half-fails. He embodies Cherufe, but neither can control the other.
Governor-General breaks through to Earth through the breach. Jack Daw has been trying to go after him, but is bound to his tree.
Tyrants are collectively shitting themselves.
>>
>>49705199
>Tyrants are collectively shitting themselves.
Specifically:
> December is offering 100% No Strings Attached control to Rasputina if she agrees to hide it.
> Cherufe got the fuck out of there
> Plague is gathering its power and tryign to get as strong as it can as fast as it can. No more waiting.
> The Dragon, still licking its wounds from its last attempt at manifestation, is keeping quiet. Shenlong is trying to become the stronger of the two wills, so the Dragon can't boss him around anymore.
> One of the Viktorias has started having arguments with her sword, and then the pair hired 60 of Malifaux's biggest badass mercenaries and marched towards Nytherea.
> Dreamer, with subtle encouragement from Nightmare, has decided he can't afford to just sit around and do nothing anymore. He's decided he's done with "Kid's Games", and Nightmare is right by his side.
> Obliteration and Tara hatch a plan to steal artifacts from the guild to try to bind Titania to their will. Nothing can go wrong with this.
> The Hungering Darkness isn't a Tyrant, but knows enough about Titania to know she won't care about the distinction. It's drawn its power back from Lynch, and encouraged Lynch to buy more taverns and lace their booze with Brilliance
>>
>>49705199
>and the Neverborn are formed. Note that the Neverborn as we know them didn't exist until Humanity showed up,
Note that this is supposition, and contradicts canon to a severe degree. However, Titania didn't recognize the Neverborn at all, as they were completely new beings to her, and Titania was only imprisoned after defeating the Tyrants - it was, in fact, defeating the Tyrants that made them decide to put her in the ground.

>>
>>49706472
I think the idea is that Titania was the one who used the Grave Spirit to smack down the Tyrants. That's why the fae are all undead. The side effect of the Grave Spirit and Kythera was lots of death and destruction, either killing almost all the fae or twisting them into something unrecognizable (the neverborn)

It's also possible that shit hit the fan only because Titania was betrayed and sealed up.

I'm honestly surprised that the Bandersnatch was the first Alice reference so far.

I've had plans to do an Alice Dreamer crew since I first saw the kid but so far I haven't gotten around to it yet.
I wonder if I do Jabberwocky or Queen of Hearts Lord Chompy Bits.

Book 1:
Welcome back! Malifaux missed you. Here's the basics of the world, for anyone coming in fresh.
> Guild
Perdita wakes up from her coma, with the names of the Tyrants on her lips. She gears up and takes most of Latigo out to help Criid, who was actively being possessed by Cherufe in an attempt to ascend. She gets there and tosses a mask to Hopkins, who'd been pinned down, while distracting Cherufe - and Hopkins seals the Tyrant inside Criid while Cherufe screams with her voice. She can never take the mask off again.
> Arcanists
Ramos ascends a mountain, with his finest at his side. He finds people feasting on the bodies of the last team he'd sent up the mountain, and calls out for Rasputina, who kills two of his best men. Ramos strikes a deal with her, and when Joss goes to reclaim the bodies, Rasputina says they're hers, and Ramos tells Joss to stand down. Rasputina has agreed to help Ramos with his plans.
> Ressers
Meet Molly and McMourning. They go on a road trip through the sewers to find Phillip, who Molly liked. She finds him as a sentient head attached to the body of a Mindless Zombie - but lacking motor control over it. Sebastian cuts off his head, and Molly takes it. Mostly namedropping cameos.
> Neverborn
One Mr. Rivers has been selling Neverborn artifacts. Lilith goes to track him down at the Honeypot Casino, while Pandora and Candy watch through a divining bowl. Lilith gets confounded by someone with illusion magic, and Pandora steps in, but claims because she caught him, she gets him. Candy suggests Pandora drives him mad, and Lilith cuts him up to accentuate. Yay, sharing!

> Outcasts
Levi and Rusty Alyce are playing chess, and Leviticus keeps winning. Alyce gets tired of his shit ("And with just one move, it's a whole new board.") and takes out her pistol, shooting Levi's king ("And with just one move, it's a whole new board!"). Tara shows up (Alyce: "Wow...Neat. Can I put my arm through it?") and asks Levi to track down a certain guild rifleman - and pays him in high quality soulstone. As Levi tracks the guy down (With pet Hunter) he finds zombies chasing guardsmen out of a cave, and a man ranting about how Obliteration is his to control. This is going about as well as you'd expect, but Alyce shooting a hole through him doesn't slow him down, and Levi's magic gets blunted as it gets close. The Viks show up (Alyce is jealous~), and strike a deal, whatever protections the Rifleman has not doing anything to their swords, and whirlwind-of-death the Zeds so Levi can get in and deal with him up close and personal.
> Gremlins
Somebody's called a meetings of the greatest minds of Gremlinkind! Or the ones that claim to be, anyway. Som'er claims it's him, but Ophelia calls him out on it, and shit's about to go down when there's a rustling in the bushes. The Brewmaster shows up, on his Golem, and EVERYONE, no matter who they are, shuts the hell up and pays attention. He offers Som'er first drink, and it almost knocks him out, Ophelia declining when she sees how it affects Som'er. Zoraida shows up shortly after to get the meeting started, and when Som'er says she's not a real gremlin no matter where she lives, Zoraida asks how he'd like to be a real TOAD. Som'er shuts the hell up. Zoraida is angry. Shit is going down in Malifaux, and it's not okay by her. She tells the Gremlins that individually, they're each a finger. Brewmaster's the index finger, most oft used. Som'er is the middle finger, for obvious reasons. Ophelia's a cute little pinkie. But to survive, they can't be fingers. They need to become a fist.

> Ten Thunders
Open on Mei Feng bitching to Misaki about working 16 hour workdays for the Guild, and then having to work 4 more hours a day to do the Ten Thunders' covert work, on the rail lines. And overstepping her bounds like a motherfucker by telling Misaki that she doesn't really know what it's like, but quickly reigning it back in. Misaki says that she understands, and hopes Mei's subterfuge won't be necessary much longer, but...For now. Please. Mei Feng grumbles, but also points out that Misaki wouldn't take tea with her just for a status report.

Enter two Torakage, with Jakob Lynch between them. Lynch is an impertinent motherfucker to Misaki, flirts with Mei Feng (Which she is having none of), and then asks why he's been taken here. Turns out Misaki wants information. But not from him.

Enter Yan Lo. Misaki nods her head to him, and Mei Feng gasps, then immediately drops to bowing, while Lynch looks rather confused. He doesn't quite know what Yan Lo wants him to say - and Yan Lo doesn't have questions for Lynch. He has questions for the creature inside Lynch. Lynch tries feigning ignorance, but Yan Lo glares him down, and he opens his mouth and the Hungering Darkness takes up the same space he does. Yan Lo acknowledges the creature, and warns him that the Tyrants are returning. Huggy says he doesn't believe him, and after getting stared down, says that he's guile, not strength - he can't help them fight Tyrants! Yan Lo agrees. But, being guile, he can help them TRAP the Tyrants.

She went into a coma because of the event. The tyrants are ancient gods of Malifaux that are evil and now rewawakening, making up a general narrative. You should read the fluff from the first 4 books, are alternatively listen to http://www.breachsidebroadcast.com/ .

Physical embodiments of various kinds of magic, and scary powerful because of it. They were killed by Titania, and then locked away. They were later released, but are still dead. In order to ascend back into being alive, they need a "Lock" - A person who holds their power, and a "Key" - A physical embodiment of their power. Hence why so many of them have empowered humans - those are their Locks.

>>
>>49714643
Why? He seems like a boring support master.
>>
>>49714702
The key lies in the word, "Master". It isn't some enforcer, to fly into the fight to remove everything that opposes your rule. It isn't a henchman, standing at the right hand of the actually important and aiding them. Hoffman is a Master, true and unquestionable, in a way that few are. Lucius is another, but he is too full of himself in doing it. Hoffman is the crew's Master, and he truly plays like he is in charge of everything on his side of the field.

>>
>>49715230
Titania is fun to play, she feels so different to the other Neverborn masters and that's nice.
It's also really fun to flood the board with scheme markers.
>>
>>49715282
I mainly want an excuse to cover my models with roses.

Actually thinking about it I need to work on some terrain for the FLGS we got a halloween tournament at the end of the month. Need to get my Hanging trees, Corn field, and pumpkin patch done. (as well as the carver model)
>>
>>49716010

http://www.trainworld.com/manufacturers/jtt-scenery/
You want "O" scale.

So what totem do you guys consider better for Titania, her personal totem or Pukey?
>>
>>49716260
I don't run her with one, that's because I still need to buy the pukeworm. I've used the Gorar once or twice and I think it's pretty underwhelming, it's squishy and needs to be in a very dangerous place and probably won't live longer than the model it's meant to summon back.
>>
>>49716289
Hmmm alright, Which of Titania's minions are best? I like the look of all of them but I don't forsee myself bringing all of them.
>>
>>49716396
I don't think one is better than the others, I never take all three though. Thorn is probably my favourite though, ignoring armor and a big engagement range, it's annoying and good at tying people up
>>
>>49716432
Love the whips myself. So what do you guys think about making a list with just a bunch of dangerous terrain and scheme markers to force WP duels? Do you think widow weaver or the insidious madnesses might be a good fit or should I run some changlings instead?
>>
>>49717142
I've never tried changelings, what do they do?
>>
>>49717171
mostly they copy attacks kinda like how the doppleganger does.
>>
So, /tg/, tell me about this "Von Schtook". I saw him referenced on one of Molly's upgrades and figured it was simply another 1e reference I'd missed, but he showed up in Sandeep's story as well, so he's officially become important to my lore knowledge.
>>
>>49717383
He is a professor that runs the University of Transmortis (As in the box set) and has a bunch of petroleum powered zombies. Much like English Ivan he is not going to get a model, acting as more of a story character than anything..
>>
If I summon a gamin with Sandeep and the upgrade says the model "Can't use attack actions" does that mean they can't engage models to prevent them from shooting?
>>
>>49717491
They've still got a melee range and can still engage, they just can't actually declare an attack (including disengaging strikes)

>Brewmaster, if you're one of those people who is fueled by other people's hate.

More so than Hamelin or Daw? I always thought Outcasts were the best faction for Fun Policing.
>>
So I want to get into TT, as I like their models and general theme. But they are almost all cross-faction and often need their specific models for their fluff/gameplay style, especially someone like Lynch, rather then generic TT models.

So which master will give me a good excuse to actually get use out of Lone swordsman, Katanaka Sniper, Thunder Archer, Fuhatsu, Yamaziko, Samurai, etc.

Is it just Misaki (since she has to take the TT exclusive models anyway)? Or is there another master that works well enough with the TT generic choices?
>>
>>49718012
Shenlong runs those guys pretty well.
>>
>>49718012
>Misaki has to take TT exclusive models
What? She's dual-faction outcasts.
>>
>>49718030
Oh right, I forgot. So I guess Shen is the only one who has to take TT only models, but he also has a rather specific style.
>>
>>49717985
I'd say Hamelin is more tedium where Daw and Brew aggressively set up a no fun zone.
>>
>>49718012
Lynch doesn't need to take a single NB model to be a powerhouse. 10T brothers, archers, and anything else with 'discard a card' costs are great with his Ace in the Hole ability.
>>
>>49718012
All TT masters do perfectly fine without their cross faction models. TT Lynch is very capable, I've never seen Yan take retainers besides maybe one Ashigaru, Misaki didn't even have any before this book... The only ones I would say definitely get better with them are McCabe and maybe Mei Feng. And even then they can do well without them.

Shen and Misaki both just need a strong crew and then Shen empowers whatever you've hired while Misaki ignores whatever you've hired.

Lynch also just needs a strong crew that he empowers by sifting his hand up and maybe something that takes advantage of discarding aces.

McCabe needs a 9-10 SS minion, 2-3 Guild Hounds and whatever makes a functional crew.

Mei needs Porkchop + crew.

Yan needs 2ish Ancestors + crew.

Brewmaster needs beaters and units that capitalize on the swills.

TT's in general not that fussed about synergies like Nightmares or Horrors or whatever. If you're absolutely set on not even using dual-faction models I suppose you're hurting yourself a bit as there's some decent ones but there's nothing wrong and most masters will gladly work with generic TT ones.

You went full retard.
If you want to go with the full poison route you are going to need at least 1 performer. Reguardless of what faction you decide on. Take a sniper or something with some range if you are gonna play him TT relenting to an obey allows you to take another shot or two with brewmaster and Wesley, as much fun as the whiskey golem is I don't take him unless the opponent is new, playing a melee centeric crew, or both. The whiskey golem in my opinion needs a ranged attack to be worth 10 points cause if any opponent is worth their salt it's gonna go down fast as a $2 whore.

On top of all that I think you got paired in a bad match up, brewmaster can't just like sit back and take rasputinas attacks. And make no mistake she's got range. It's one of the reasons that when I hear arcanists I try to figure out a good crew that can either counter range by picking off her frozen heart models, or look for a blitz master who can get up in her face fast as she only has one melee action.

Anyone have a good list for Zip? The only Sky-Priate models come in his kit, and I want to pick him up as my second master, I have the Pandora Box, Waldgeists, Insidious Madnesses, Iggy and the Starter Box, should I go guild instead? If I got a Guild master I'd want the doctor theme to match but McMourning doesn't really go with them very well right?
>>
>>49721320
No clue about Zipp, but gremlin staples include Rooster Riders, Slop Haulers, Burt, Trixiebelle, Lenny, and Francois.

McMourning can do well with the starter dudes. Grimwell is gross when he's ignoring armor, Orderlies are decent scheme runners, and Heartsbane is fragile but a good control piece.
>>
>>49721522
Heartsbane is a glorious lady. Stun and straight-jacket someone who's yet to activate and move on. I've had her tie up opponent beatsticks endlessly before.
Like you said though, she's fragile and my regular opponents will take her out early just because I've used her so much against them.

So I've got a thought for Titania, what about running a pandora type list, alps, widow weaver, etc. with teddy or nekima as the beat stick? Given all the Wp duels they are already taking would think it would Be a perfect fit.

>Yan needs 2ish Ancestors + crew.
Speaking of which, how does a Yan list look like?
>>
>>49724814
Brutal, Fortify, Reliquary on Yan Lo
Soul Porter
Emissary w/ Ancestral Conflux
Izamu
Yin
Chiaki

Cheap stuff to fill out the rest of the crew. Crazy disruptive, dem respawns, etc
>>
>>49724999
Instead of Brutal, take Misdirection. Yan is going to be balls deep into enemy lines, so him having two different defensive triggers really helps him out. The core of a Yan crew is basically a crew that is so resource intensive to put down that it's just not really worth the effort. I'd generally go for something like...

Misdirection, Fortify, Reliquary
Porter
Yu+Wandering
Yin
Izamu+RT
Chiaki
Komainu

Maybe wiggle a Toshiro in there somewhere instead and/or a second Komainu instead of Chiaki. I wouldn't go for the Emissary because really, with Yan he just feels subpar. Yu allows some reliable healing on Yan, which makes it absolutely impossible to take him down. Or lets him attach an Ancestor upgrade or two.

The problem with the Emissary is that it requires the Brutal upgrade, it limits itself to +1 chi while without the upgrade he can easily get Ca9 if he's anywhere near a Soul Porter, so all you're left with is an occasionally fast emissary. Which is okay, but doesn't compare to Yu's healing and ability to push/pull any model including opponents and Yan.
>>
>>49725239
Misdirection is so based.

I should have specified that I was playing resser Yan Lo.

>>
>>49725565
To get a mech porkchop as soon as possible.
>>
>>49725565
The Emissary with its conflux + Toshiro means you're getting at least 2 Komainu by turn 2, and naturally Misdirection and Vapormancy on Mei.

The rest really depends on schemes and opposing faction. Generally I'd say something that can take out bigger units, something range-y and something support-y. And then just small models to fill it all up. TTB, LRM, Shadow Effigy, Emberling.
>>
>>49725844
>The rest really depends on schemes and opposing faction
Ressers usually, with another more rare player who jumps between Guild and Neverborn. And yes, he does Lucius.
>>
>>49725875
Ressers means Kang. Though lately I tend to not take him because it's starting to feel cheap against our Resser player. So you have...
Misdirection, Vapormancy, Claws/RT - 5 SS
Emissary + Conflux - 10 SS
Toshiro + Summon + LRM Upgrade - 10 SS
Kang + RT - 10 SS
Shadow Effigy - 4 SS
Low River Monk - 4 SS
Emberling - 3 SS
Giving you a Cache of 7. You could swap something small out for a TTB or give Kang Smoke Grenades against lures and such or maybe even a Wings of Wind. Try not to dip below 6 though.

Turn 1 you summon 2 Komainu and heal them up with the LRM if you can spare a card for the Emberling giving you 9 activations, which should be plenty (Or keep going turn 2, if you've got the Komainu). The rest of your cache'll just be there to keep Mei safe or snag away a corpse marker or two from the Ressers.
>>
>>49726184
I do not currently own any of the Monks. Would swapping the LRM out for Chiaki work in the short term, or is the Cache too important?
>>
>>49726228
The cache is really important. You need that explosive summoning turn 1 and still have enough left to keep Mei happy to be in the center. And while Chiaki is really nice for removing slow, she's just so unreliable in her healing. But I'd prefer Chiaki over nothing. Maybe a Tengu? Or just proxy it.
>>
>>49726390
Yeah, the monks never impressed me before book 4, and I'm in a money crunch right now...I don't have anything that's come out in the last ~2 months except for the Emissary, which I tapped into money I don't really have to get. >_> Meanwhile, my regular opponent has moved past the fact that Seamus exists and discovered that there's things in Ressers she actually likes, and having come into a windfall, just bought Molly and Nicodem and approximately everything they could ever want.
>>
>>49726466
They were pretty much worthless, but this upgrade makes them absolutely insane. I'd really just proxy it though. I'm sure they won't mind.

I don't know if I can keep supporting the Neverborn on the kid, they''ll kill her parents but it's because they love her
>>
Is there anything to allow Yan Lo to take the shadow emissary with his specific upgrade in ressurs or is he stuck with carrion with the generic upgrade if you want one?
>>
>>49727966
His personal upgrade goes with both factions. You just have the Carrion Emissary with Yan's specific upgrade.
>>
>>49727500
I am going to guess you don't play with much difficult terrain. Walk 6 unimpeded aint no joke.
>>
>>49727899
At this point I'm basically assuming the Neverborn have the kid and the Ressers have the woman. It's not that there's no way to pull out of the nosedive, but people are playing games based on what they think is cool, and being shackled with a Ressers-style or Neverborn-style story for whoever you wind up with isn't cool to most people.

I would have actually really liked for 10T to win the werewolf, we could have had John Talbain in Malifaux.

And now that her skin's fucked I don't want the woman.

From some information that I've been getting in private outcasts numbers have been pretty bleak, I wanted to get my outcasts painted and throw my lot in to oppose the neverborn that cropped up in the LGS, but I dunno the storyline rewards have been pretty shit for us, and I'm not sure there is anything for us to salvage at this point.
>>
>>49729354
The 10T Rewards for the Woman this time are actually pretty bad ass, even if it is vaguely sickening (and I like models that literally eat people) for her to tear the skin of others apart to get their magical tattoos

I'm going to play a game against my friend later this week, I'm playing Sonnia and they're playing Tara. What should I be doing? I've not played Sonnia before and they're moderately experienced as Tara.
>>
>>49729550
Prepare for Death Marshals - Death Marshal Recruiters tend to be a good answer. Prepare for Incorporeal - Soninia is a good answer herself, but finding Casting actions, or at least non Ml/Sh sources of damage, is important. Tara can and will get Reactivate every turn - be ready for that.

Eh, I'm a sucker for molly so I kinda hope they meet up, now that I'm reading the rewards.

The self righteous man seems....interesting, like a Shindig story mission, Think I might actually have to pull out the arcanists for this job, with enough spiders I think I can win just due to activations.

Not sure if I wanna roll with Misaki (outcasts) or Seamus for the child this week.

Consider what she has. Read it. I recall, though cannot currently confirm, that a few of her tricks only work if nothing else is buried. Don't count on having your entire crew round to round - she WILL remove them from the table and that'll be all there is to say about it. If it's a campaign, she probably doesn't have a lot of her nasty out-of-faction shenanigans. Stop the Nothing Beast ASAP. Sonnia is the only one in that crew who can.

Sweet. Thanks. I have only played once with yan lo so far and I just took all the ancenstors I had plus a belle nurse and the soul porter. Yin as always is good. The first edition book describes it a bit. Super loose quote from memory.

Something along the lines of 'the light seems more intense but dimmer and shadows all seem deeper than earthside.
Like the light is being bent by some property of the air.'
>>
>>49722769
>>49732315

Here you go Anons
>Everything that was wrong hit her all at once. What had been a warm, golden afternoon Earthside sun was now a fragile morning light whose spears pierced grey clouds like icicles. The world looked painted on glass. What light there was too bright, too harsh, the shadows too deep and the colors luminous and rich in a way the Old Masters would have killed for. Viktoria did not know if this was just another side-effect of her passage through the Breach, but if it was, it was not fading. Was this life under some distant cousin of the sun? It was
invigorating, chilling and unsettling all at once. It even smelled wrong. On the wind came the dirt of the city and the oil-smoke of the train mingling with familiar but far-off hints of decaying swamp and distant snows, but the wind here was a strange creature, and its breath held spices and savors unknown.

I haven't gotten a chance to look yet. Did book 4 add anything good to Mei Feng, Arcanists or 10T?
>>
>>49733207
To Mei? No, not really. Terracotta Warriors are constructs, but they don't really work with Mei, while Lynch seems like a good fit with them. In Arcanists there aren't any new models that would help her either. I found it funny that Phiona Gage despite fluffwise being a steamborg railworker, isn't a Foundry model or even a construct.
>>
>>49733323
Word is that Phiona was originally intended to be the Arcanist master for this release. I guess they decided the M&SU theme was over done.
>>
>>49733695
I think that focusing on wizards and shit was the right decision, as there are three M&SU masters (With Foundry being essentially offshoot of the M&SU).
>>
>>49733323
>>49733695
>>49733829
Still makes little to no sense that she's not even a Living Construct - she's at least as metal as Joss.
I can allow not being MS&U due to her affiliations, but the rest doesn't make a lot of sense.
I would've really liked her in Foundry.

>>49731320
I like the comprehensive-looking page, but that is waaaaaaaaaay less convenient to use than ByTheTree.net.

So why are ppl so butthurt about Sandeep and Reva? Noob question: what does it mean when an action has a suit symbol next to its stat or TN but no corresponding trigger? I.E. The Judge's Bound by Law.
>>
>>49736290
Not much.

Sometimes an upgrade will add a trigger to that action, sometimes it's leftover from an earlier playtest version of the unit or future-proofing in case they want to add a relevant upgrade later.
>>
>>49736290
>>49736351
Oh, wait! I misread that.

If the suit is next to the TN, you need the suit. That means you need a properly suited card in your hand, or you can burn a soulstone if it's a master or henchmen.

If the suit is on the stat but not the TN, then it's >>49736351

So what is the red cage, anyhow?

What is the diffrence betweeen faction arsenal deck and generalist deck? They have exclusive stuff? Or generalist contains all factions arsenal decks?
>>
>>49736533
Faction decks contain all upgrades for that faction, including upgrades for specific models.

The generalist deck doesn't include any model-specific upgrades, but it has the general upgrades from every faction.

If you're starting with 2E and you aren't proxying anything, you'll get the model-specific upgrades in the boxes with the models themselves and should only need to buy the Generalist deck.
>>
>>49732554
Thanks anon, that's what I was remembering.

>What light there was too bright, too harsh, the shadows too deep and the colors luminous and rich in a way the Old Masters would have killed for.

This line makes me think Rembrant's 'The nightwatch' is a good representation for the visual feel.

Another question about brewmaster.

A lot of fokes recommended me to run him as Ten Thunders. I have box of fermented river monks and Izamu. What would reinforce that crew?

In gremlin (I have starter and golem) way I heard I should grab McTavish, Trixiebelle, Lenny, Burt Jebsen.

Please guide me fellow anons, how to make him more versalite.
>>
>>49738086
Ten Thunders Brewmaster is Swillbot 9000, which can't be shut down because of the aura. Get him in position and toss Swill on things, then punish things for having Swill.

Sensei Yu is good for this. He can push Brewie upfield, saving the Master's AP for throwing around hangovers. Yin the Penengalan really benefits from things having negative flips. Katanaka Snipers are a must in every list - they're the best anti-sniper piece in the game.

Kat snipers can bite a huuuuge dick - Signed, Trappers.

Is there assembly instructions for the multi-part men and women kits?
As self explanatory as most the parts are, some bits leave me confused and it'd be great to see the CAD designs also as it's a bit hard to see the details on the raw plastic.

>>
>>49738165
thanks anon, some ranged support would be really welcome.
>>
>>49739421
>Kat snipers can bite a huuuuge dick - Signed, Trappers.
To explain this slightly further, the Sniper is actually slightly bad at actually sniping things. It's actually slightly better in melee than it is at range. However, if you deploy second, anything with From the Shadows has to sit back in their deployment zone, or you'll just deploy your sniper next to it. Even if you deploy first, you take the best sniper spot for your opponent. You start the game engaged with the enemy more than likely, cut them down, and proceed to be a mediocre sniper for the rest of the game - but a Trapper, or Hans, or Nino, none of them can effectively deal with having a katana shoved in their gut and twisted turn one.
>>
>>49738572
>http://web.archive.org/
Aaaand now I feel retarded for never thinking of that.
Cheers braux.
>>
>>49739472
Why are Kats worse than Trappers?
They use the same rifle, no?
Is it just the Reposition trigger?
I think that's a relatively small issue, since you usually either do or don't have a shot, and if you pick your firing lane well and your opponent is denying free kills properly you shouldn't be getting that Focused shot anywhere other than first turn.
>>
>>49699928
>Graveyard spirit bad
Its +2 Armor in the faction with the most incorporeal or hard to wound/high wounds models, most of which have 50mm bases to hide it behind.
>>
>>49739574
Pretty much this. Cheap models with a stack of wounds Hard to wound and Armor 2 are hard to shift.

Maybe lack luster next to totems meant for their master, but not bad.
>>

So what works well with Kaeris besides the rail golem and two metal gamin? I think that Mech rider fits into anything but not sure.
>>
>>49745611
anything that synergies well with burning.
Gunsmiths are awesome.
Personnaly I prefer Rail Workers to gamin, they're a stone more expensive but they can (sometimes) do some burning and they're really hard to remove.
>>
>>49745664
the gamin are there for their ability to add +2 burning to the rail golem with their attack. Turn 1 it's possible to get the rail golem up to +6 burning with 2 of them.
I got a weird thing about needing to play stuff painted, lying around unpainted I've got 2 gunsmiths, an oxfordian mage, Willie (miss fire), Some fire gamin, and a single rail worker.

painted already I've got 10 spiders, rail golem, Kaeris (obv), 2 large arachnids, Mech rider, joss, Howard langston and a Coryphee duet

Do you have A) any suggestions on a generalist list?
or B ) any suggestions on other things to pick up for her?
>>
>>49745940
I diddn't realized that you could count as engaged with your own models to trigger the burning on the metal gamins attacks, that probably does make them worth taking then.
