Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where under a smoke screen things can get dangerously furry.

Please elaborate on how it's the worst?

From a collector's perspective, they redid the model's in the old starter. The Bagh now being a part of another box.

They have yet to rerelease a Bagh Mari HMG, which I assume will either be in a blister or will be part of something else.

Not to mention, they finally got their new T.A.G. (Tik when?).

They probably won't redo the Guarda De Assaulto for a while and besides that there is nothing specific to SAA that needs to be redone. I'd be surprised if the Dragao saw an update too.

SAA will benefit from any resculpts of the Vanilla PanO line such as the REMS, Combat REMS, Support Pack, and SWC ORC pack.
>>
I posted about starting Haqqislam in the last thread, and I believe I've decided on Qapu Khalki. If anyone would be so kind as to give some feedback on the list, I would greatly appreciate it. I mostly picked models that looked cool/came in convenient boxes, and tried to streamline from there. Thanks!

Also Al Fasid HRL looks incredible

Dont be an idiot
It literally cannot be run on its own like every other starters can be (and should be meant for)
Its just stupid wetbacks being too lazy to make a proper SAA starter and an acon regular swc box so they just haphazardly slap it together with terrible and unplayable results
>>
When are we going to see a resculpt for the vanilla Aleph starter? Should I bother waiting, or should I just grab the current one?
>>
>>49687849
Really looking forward to that Al Fasid and Wu Ming!

>>49688434
It's probably going to be a CA tinbot

>>49688614
I genuinely feel bad for USARF

>>49689206
The starter is less than 150pts, but 5swc (6swc if you make those regulars FOs). It's an already VERY SWC hungry army, and the starter leaves little room for other special weapons. Also still no Bagh Mari HMG.

I said this in one of the previous threads, it kills any interest I had in the army even though I painted up a box of Bagh Mari and Stephen Rao.

>>49689520
>too lazy to make a proper SAA starter and an acon regular swc box
That's what I first thought - It's done to avoid doing a SWC box. But they still need to make a Hacker Blister and possibly a Minelayer/Sensor.

>>49689750
We will eventually, because that shit's looking tired. The next Aleph release is the Posthumans Mk4 and 5 I think.
>>
>>49689883
>that shit's looking tired
Damn right. You can really tell how much their models have improved by comparing them to their newer stuff, they just don't look the same.
>>
>>49689943
Yeah, and the current vedic range and some SP are a bit out of scale with the N3 models.

I think the fact that CB has thrown the idea of an Aleph vs CA 2-player starter around shows that a new Aleph starter is probably on the drawing table somewhere. Also we should be expecting a new sectorial in the next expansion

>>
>>49690545
Didnt CB do an infinity bootcamp where each person bought and played with a starter the first week? And ive heard of other stores doing the same to ease people in. Nevermind the two player boxesets are exactly that.
>>
>>49690744
I don't know, did they?

Stores that I know of always have the Starter packs on hand and boxes to expand with. No one ever just gets a Starter.

To me, they are just an entry point into your faction that makes it cheaper in the long run. The $ per model is low for those boxes so they make a great point to jump in on. In addition, they tend to have the needed profiles or models for a unit that at the time didn't even have a model.

Crazy how both the two player box sets both have expansion lists too... It's like they know you won't play with one starter pack over and over and over, and never proxying.
>>
>>49689206
I just want my riflemen. Regulars have some fantastic rifle profiles and I take at least 3 of them in most of my ASA lists, but the starter has only 2. A Bagh Mari HMG would have been nice to have in the starter too. They easily could have made a Regular SWC box with a spitfire, sniper, hacker and fastpanda as well.

I'll be happy if we get a separate sensor/minelayer model, but I seriously doubt it will happen.
>>
Is taking a sectorial necessary for ITS? If not, why? Beyond model selection, the +1B and order economy is massive, especially if you take things like Missile Launchers.

I'd kill all the spearheads in a sectorial first though.

Thoughts?

You also have 2-5 dudes that have to stick within 8 inches of one guy and experienced players will just do pic related to pick apart your teams.

Don't get me wrong, fireteams can be pretty strong and I love my Unidron links, but they're not the end all be all and answers for them are common in list building.
>>
>>49691357
First place in the 3rd interplanitario was a vanilla aleph list. Sectorials aren't necessary.

The wider selection of units gives you tactical flexibility that really helps in objective based missions.

>>
>>49689206
It is pretty much just the Spitfire Regular that makes it bad.
If they release just this and then the Hacker separately, it will create a situation in which you won't have enough basic Combi Regulars unless you buy the box twice or get some of the old ones.
>>
>>49692398
Eh I still like her definitely over the male one from the starter. My only issue is the raised mask/helmet. Sometime I wish it was detached or held off to the side of the waist or something -like that one new Wu Ming. Sometimes it just looks dumb like the fem Kosuil and the Bagh Mari shotgunner.

It would be "girl lean" if she was shouldering the shotgun. But she isn't. Remember that women have differently distributed weight to men, so they would pose differently.

It's a nice enough model and I do own one, but the pose is just daft. Girl lean is exactly what you're describing; stereotypically, female shooters naturally lean away from the centre of weight to balance it out. For an active duty, combat role female soldier, that shouldn't exist; especially in Ariadna.

How do people actualy glue infinity models togather. I love how most of the model look, even bought a starter for two factions. The worse are the hold weapon in two hands models. It is impossible to align both to hold the gun, plsu 4/5 times am end up sticking myself to the model which then means a 50/50 chance of the model breaking when I try to get unstuck. Are there some sort of tutorials on how to assemble infinity models somewhere ?

I meant that the red parts of the uniform should be Bakunin orange. No matter how good you make the model itself, with the new scheme you're just polishing a turd.
>>
>>49693823
Git gud. Seriously though, it's practice.

Which particular models are you having trouble with? A lot of the older stuff is a massive pain in the arse to glue, but most newer stuff tends to be pretty good.

Finally got around to start working on this girl. Not entirely convinced by the maroon hair, to be honest.
Also, while the Pheasant's paintjob looks already lovely, the model itself is still shit. Well, the head is; the rest is fine. No braid *and* the stupid open visor just ruins the whole thing...

>>
>>49693823
New models have square connectors, those help a lot. If by "starter for two factions" you meant a big box one like Icestorm or Red Veil, those definitely apply.
- check if you haven't left any flash/mold feed on the joint that could interfere
- dry-fit both arms
- a bit of gel superglue on the off-hand connector
- put the off-hand on, hold it with the tip of a modeling knife, it'll give some pressure but won't stick
- wait until joint is firm
- glue the weapon arm to both joints, as above

Few weapons have to be glued both arms at once (and you should know if that's the case after dry-fitting).

Also, you did wash your models, right? Mold release agent is a thing.
>>
>>49693905
I wonder how hard would it be to cut the red fury barrel and give it to the boarding shotgun's model...
>>
>>49693929
Ok, I maybe more of a moron I though I was, but what is gel super glue and how do you hold anything with a knife?
>>
>>49693898
Well Am tried to glue up odelisques and failed hard, on all save the msg one. Tried to glue up the red veil khwajri, and couldn't align the left hand to fit. Either it is too long or it doesn't stick to the body, or is is glued too far at the back making the model look stupid.
Am also having problem with doing the "separate leg" models, as the legs do not seem to fit in to the whole no matter how much I try.
I also have a fidey with a boarding shot gun. And the small hand that holds the huge gun always comes off. It is very small, and it is impossible to get enough glue to support the whole weight. Generaly out of 2 boxs and 3 blisters, the only models that I managed to assemble are an smg odelisue, 1 hawza, and a djabanza hacker.
The hacker was a real suprise, because I was 100% sure she would fall apart, but her holding the gun down somehow makes the model easy to assemble.
>>
>>49694015
- superglue comes in liquid/runny version and gel version. I use both, but gel is awesome for filling inner gaps and doesn't escape into weird places like runny does.
- you can press down on the part with the point of the knife. Sure, you'll stab/damage the part if you press too much but if you do it lightly it's enough to hold it while the glue dries while having a minimal contact point with the knife ifn case the glue decides to escape.
>>
>>49693929
Adding to that, score the contact surfaces that are going to be glued, as in *gently* graze them with the tip of your model knife to create a textured surface. The glue has more surface to grip and the bond is stronger.
Pinning is also a thing, but I would consider it only for particular cases (older mini, a joint under mechanical stress, parts that keep breaking). Useful for dry fitting multi-junction minis tho.

Also remember pewter is a malleable substance, if two parts don't fit together you can apply some heat (drop them in a cup of hot water) and carefully bend them to adjust the pose.
>>
>>49694092
Ok, Am having problems with visualising this. How do you hold a model, hold one arm and hold the gun and then hold the second arm and push it with knife without a second person helping?

I'll ask around if there is gel super glue sold here, but I have a bad feeling that it is not, because in my 34 years of living this is the first time I hear it exists.
>>
>>49694099
Ok I'll try the heating up method.
>>
>>49693905
I've got the old Pheasant sniper model, so I'm considering switching their heads around and seeing how it works out. The garbage head would work better on a garbage profile, methinks.
>>
>>49694182
Hold the model. Put a bit of glue on the arm joint. Take off-hand. Put off-hand on the model so it sticks. If it tries to move, push it gently into place with a hard pointy object that won't stick, like a toothpick or knife tip. Wait until glue dries/joint sets. Repeat with weapon hand (glueing it to both joints this time).

Alternatively, use an extra hand (as in, part holders on a stand)

There's a Story to this. I was at Crucible Orlando (a wargaming tournament) and one of the sponsors set up shop there. They had a lot of Old Infinity stuff there, including the Caskuda, the OOP Karakuri blister, and a bunch of other stuff. In the midst of it all, unasuming, was that blister. The one attending the shop didn't know what it was, googled a general price, and sold it to me for about sixteen bucks. Given that I saw it go for 50 on ebay I considered it a steal and bought him and a Karakuri.

Ok, super glue here doesn't work unless I keep it for 2-3 min. So I need both hands for that, one holding the model and the other for the arm. Plus the fact that I have big hands doesn't help.
Checked all stores near me, including a model store and no one sells gel super glue.
>>

>Ok, super glue here doesn't work unless I keep it for 2-3 min.
Your superglue is shit then (probably stale?), use this one for terrain and buy a new one for minis.
>>
>>49696986
Also, get your glue from paint stores, big marts and such places that go through them fast. Superglue is good for maybe 6 months sealed and 2 months after opening.
>>
>>49696963
>>49696986
>>49696998
Start with just a little superglue. Less really is more with this stuff for the initial bond.

Once the bond has started to set you can then, if so inclined, add more superglue to the join.

Get good stuff, and keep it fresh. I used to used dollar store crap, but a "why not" purchase of basic Loctite (clear bottle, not the opaque side squeeze) was all it took to change that.
>>
>>49696284
Lucky bastard...
>>
>>49696986
It is new. I bought it in the modeling store, name probably irrelevant, but its UHU Instant Glue.
The only stronger type of glue is the two component one, but it costs almost 30$ for a one box, and has to be used with gloves on etc. Hard to use with models, but it does glue metal doors etc realy well.
>>
>>49697601
Weird, I remember UHU superglue being one of the better ones.

The two-part epoxy glues are awesome for the shit that needs to stay together when you beat the other dude with the model. Recommended only in extreme cases due to all the hassle.

It's not even a matter of shipping (most international dealers offer tracked shipping, and most of the time I buy from my LGS anyway), it's just that in my country there seems to be no privates selling their used infinity models. And to buy from international ebay sellers I would incur in so many shipping costs that it would defeat the purpose of buying used in the first place.

The prices here aren't even particularly high, I'm just a little sad that I can't enjoy used deals like many other here. Like now I'm needing a pair of dakinis; in some other country I could scour ebay till I find something used, but here I'm forced to buy from that bloke who splits the boxes in the official forum.

I dont have a lot of painted YJ minis. So far just these CGs. I have the Crane Rank dunked in some simple green for a repaint, Su Jian, 2 Bao, and Kanren has a basecoat, and I have RV stuff unpainted. I want to play ISS, but I'm waiting for more resculpta especially a CG box.

My plan is: Agents are in black armor. Basic ISS bitches in white. Generic YJ troop in Orange. Each color are acents for the others similar to Nomads' white, black, and red for each mothership. I do the same for Haqqislam (generic, Ramah, and Hassassins).

>>49693322
Nice head swap. The base look a bit too muddy though.

>>49693905
There's something about Jin Wei's sculpting style that makes me like it. He also sculpted the Bandit Hacker iirc.

But I totally get why some people dislike her. At least she's no where near as awful as the foxytrot which killed my interest in not only the model, but nearly killed my interest in the sectorial.

>>49692837
Primer is suppose to leave texture, so the paint can adhere too it... but not enough that you can actually notice it. Well, you can always strip the paint off and start over.

She's only available in this event anyway, as a free unit to one of the players. No point in making her distinct. Maybe it's supposed to show how she was exceptional and how after General's McDidNotCutMyselfShaving's initiative now every Tik pilot is as good as Toni.

Those guys look baller too, the color scheme goes really well together. Black armored agents is something I'm strongly considering myself, it feels just so right (but then again that would mean no black armored penal regiments like wu ming... I'm torn)
Myself, I'm planning on doing an aquamarine/black/touch of purple scheme, and differentiate between ISS and IA troops by the proportions between these, but I keep being swayed from this plan by all the excellent schemes I see from around the web.

Overall, I've had some minor improvements to my painting of infinity figures since April 2015 but dang, what I wanted to do was compare some of my earlier/first minis to the most recent but all I see is the scale difference.

Is anyone doing a write up for the vanilla Ariadna tatica? I want to get into the game and Ariadna looks like a good place to go, but not really sure what units do what and what they are good for.

Should I buy the USAaridna pack first though? since I hear the ariadna starter is really of date.
>>
>>49700732
>Should I buy the USAaridna pack first though? since I hear the ariadna starter is really of date.
USARF Starer is mostly for playing USARF, but the basic starter really is showing it's age. Grunts are not expensive, so even if you're limited to 2, they're very good, hard to kill cheerleaders. You'd just need to add some non-USARF Ariadna units to the mix, like Tankhunters, Spetsnaz, Chasseurs, Uxia and the like. But unfortunately quite a bit of Ariadna is old sculpts.
Or you could just play USARF for now and use shiny new figures exclusively until new sculpts arrive. Judging by recent Kazak figures CB is going to mix it up a bit with Ariadna.
>>
>>49700864
So probably best to fool around with USARF for awhile till the stuff gets updated then? I kind of want to have a complete collection of Ariadna and play each faction of it.

Any suggestions though of what to updade with aside from spetnaz if I do the basic starter?

Achilles v1 or v2?
>>
>>49699764
Real world Japanese are sometimes in a different scale from the rest, so this is not as big a problem as all that.
>>
>>49701363
I think v2 in most cases, but v1 is no slouch, as evidenced by Interplanetario.
V1 is harder to shoot down, but v2 is stronger in melee.
>>
>>49701363
V1 for me. ODD gives him a massive advantage against non MSV troopers even if Achilles is out of him optimum range.

That said V2 is also really solid. Much harder to wound and deploys a bit further up the field. I just prefer the ODD mods over Mimetism.

They still kill shit just fine even without linking. How many BS 14 panzer Faust can you name?
>>
>>49703033
Why do you need a BS14 panzerfaust? I'd rather get a Father Knight missile launcher with no frenzy and a knight that has a decent short range weapon like a Santiago spitfire or Hospitaller multirifle doc. Not to mention that Santiagos have stealth, far more versatile weapons, a 360 visor, a specialist profile, a spitfire cheaper in SWC and duo capabilities that can remove frenzy. The Teuton isn't unplayable, but he's not good either and the things he does can usually be done better by someone else.

I'm hoping for an overhaul in the next book, since it's likely all the Paradiso units will end up in the Varuna sectorial.
>>
>>49703190
he is fine, I wouldn't bother with knight specialists when the order sergeant does it better. Why waste the father knight on shifty ARO duty when you can do it for cheaper with a to sniper or a teuton for less points or less points and no SWC. I do agree about the spitfire, much better in other knights hands. It is also worth pointing out that canceling the frenzy on the other knights is extremely pricy and limits the rest of the list
>>
>>49703190
>I'm hoping for an overhaul in the next book, since it's likely all the Paradiso units will end up in the Varuna sectorial.
Don't fucking hold your breath.
Stupid beaners.
>>
>>49703464
>Why waste the father knight on shifty ARO duty
Because BS 14 and ARM5. Also in active turn it's 1 vs 1 shots on long range. Basically you're making sure your Spec Sergeants and Konstantinos can roam free.
Not as cheesy as ML Swiss but still pretty damn good.
>>
>>49703464
A spitfire+para Santiago duo is reasonably cheap and nets you a specialist and heavy weapon that both enjoy moving up the table. And Teutons are hardly dedicated ARO platforms. They can only do it twice, lose cover when they actually land a hit, and aren't intended to be used at good pfaust ranges. Not having stealth is also a big hit to their role as a doorkicker, and combi rifles aren't great. Again, he's not Seed Soldier-tier bad, but there are things that just do all his jobs so much better than he can. The SWC issue is valid, but Peacemakers are fierce competition when it comes to SWC0 defensive dudes.

FKs are actually damned good ARO platforms as well. Dat defence they're famous for can force the enemy to waste no shortage of orders trying to take them down, and with a BS14 ML you're decently likely to hit them back for massive damage. I'd gladly scrape together the 5 points required to take him over a Teuton.

No one was checking numbers during the event, because no one expected anyone to be such a cunt as to outrageously cheat during a casual event. And also because very few people play ALEPH, so no one is quite sure how much the units cost.
A guy recounted all the units he used and they easily exceeded the limit. Ergo his score should be nullified.

>>49709115
no one is going to steal my back, because am always checking if someone is stealing stuff. If someone plays in a tournament and gets cheated by an opponent, then it is their own foult. It is like sport, everyone tries to get any possible edge they can get. Sometimes they get caught, sometimes they don't. And all those people are pro sportsman, who till caught red handed are put on a pedestal.

>Which he is showing by the way he's handling this fiasco: by insulting everyone.

you guys are never happy. he wins. it is bad. he loses it is bad. So I guess the only time it would be good, if he leave the game, probaly by a ritual sucide in a public place like the pusudski square, self denoucing himself as a cunt?
>>
>>49709115
if someone expects people to not cheat durning a sport, or any other event that has a winner and loser, then maybe they shouldn't play games and just run around with kids doing pew pew sounds. less hurt for them
>Which he is showing by the way he's handling this fiasco: by insulting everyone.

How can truth be insulting. Now I understand it can make someone salty. Specialy when it emasculates them, showing that they are less pro then other, but it is not insulting. It is not like he is spiting on people durning his games.
>>
>>49709168
>And all those people are pro sportsman, who till caught red handed are put on a pedestal.
Uh, no. Every sportsman is checked after the event for doping.

>So I guess the only time it would be good, if he leave the game, probaly by a ritual sucide in a public place like the pusudski square, self denoucing himself as a cunt?
Or you know, if he STOPPED CHEATING IN FRIENDLY GAMES.
No one wants to get angry over a hobby and Infinity is complicated already without some asshole claiming Martial Arts is the same as Multiterrain or switching his Le Muet's loadout mid-game. And then when called out on it, claiming everyone's just mad because he's so pro.

Why are you defending him anyway, are you his best friend or something? If you are, you're the perfect person to tell him to cut that shit out.
>>
>>49709231
I just think he is the best Polish player, possibly one of the best in the world, and the community should support him to get a better ranking, and not be small minded and require him to lose games. He could be the Malysz of infinity, dominatng everything, but he can't because polish community is giving him stupid aggro. If he can't win and can't train, because people don't play vs him, how is he suppose to prepare and win worlds?

Cheating is cuntery. Cheating in a casual tournament is double cuntery. Acting like you are the shit and everyone else is wrong when you are caught is supreme cuntery.

False equivalence. This isnt like someone bending the rules a little that might result in a personal foul or whatever, its as if one team brought extra players onto the field.

If that was true, he wouldn't have a problem winning without cheating.
On any organized event he'd be disqualified immediately for trying to pull that shit. When he can't (like in Wroclaw), he loses, badly. So much for "Malysz of Infinity".

Seriously, he really did his part for making Infinity more popular, but now it seems like he was just making sure he has an influx of inexperienced players to farm ITS rank on.
>>
>False equivalence. This isnt like someone bending the rules a little that might result in a personal foul or whatever, its as if one team brought extra players onto the field.

As if doping wasn't an extra player. All sportsman dope, but some have bad docs and bad support, while others have good docs and good support and don't get caught.
Hulk Hogan always told that doping is bad, when everyone who ever looked at him in the 80s knows he and the Warrior were juicing like crazy. Yet no says bad stuff about them, or discredits their legacy, like people do with Xaos.
>When he can't (like in Wroclaw), he loses, badly.

He lost because he wanted to, and he didn;t want the old breslau crew to feel bad about him domineting the whole sceen. He wanted to lose and he lost. Plus his cheating in noob tournaments are not real cheats, he just does stuff to make the games more spicy and fun, for the opponent. Of course he could steam roll them without cheating, but what is the fun in that, if the noobs pick up on his cheats, then this means they have learned a bit about the game and all is good. He is teaching people through this, but als he only gets hate, while people should actualy be thankful to him.

>40k players bitter but Stockholm syndrome

Wait.. People actually believe this regurgitated meme bullshit? No one is idiotic enough to play a game because of Stockholm syndrome. They keep playing it because while they enjoy aspects of the game, modeling, the lore, etc. The rules tend to be a crapshoot with whether an army is viable competitively. But ya know, that just sounds like complaining about the worst shit and glossing over the good, an acceptable practice among Infinity players, but obviously makes 40k fans shit. That's some real modern Tribalism right there.

Guess what? Humanity is equally shitty across the board, every fandom has shit people. Don't look like a cunt by assuming everyone else a cunt. Fucking off back to my own thread now, have a nice afternoon.

no they keep playing it, because if they spend 800$ on an army and then resell it for 50% or less, because it or the edition rules suck, they would look like fools to people playing other systems, and to themselfs. Now if they stay and keep playing, they just get bitter and angry. Which may not be a thing for you, but for poles bitter and angry is what mothers milk is made of.
>>
>>49710495
But anon, he's right. People play 40k either because of inertia it has gotten over the years, or because they have already spent a tonn of money on it. Rules are shit, minis are mediocre, and the only good things left are the lore and the playerbase.

There's a similar mechanism. Blacks from ghettoes use racism/historical slavery/etc to excuse not putting effort into career, education, etc, even when the opportunity are available to them (I realize they often aren't). Poles got used to 40+ years of communist oppression and going against the system and bitch against success because in communist times success usually meant connections/bribes/cheating, not honest work. It's changing, but it's easier to blame the system and claim "it can't be done" than to work on it.

The ones who take the shit work for low pay are a different kind than the ones who prefer to sit on their asses and collect welfare.

So I've heard that this game tends towards spamming lots of cheap bodies, rather than playing a few expensive pieces, because of the advantage that gives you.

Is this true? I was looking for a game where I could run just a few models.
>>
>>49710900
It was sorta true last year, but missions from Human Sphere and the general tournament system has been bringing the average model count down to about 12. Even when it was sorta true having a few expensive pieces still worked.
>>
>>49710900
Playing IG mode is just another part of the rochambeau of Infinity. Order spamming means lots of soft targets for the opponent with competent troops.
>>
>>49710900
Do note that "spamming cheap bodies" is at most ~25 models in a 300 point ITS game. Cheap bodies usually get mulched by competent placement of decent/good units. Generally lists go for about 12-15 units. There is also the limited insertion scenario which caps both players out at 10 units each.

Unless you live in Poland,, you probably wont have to deal with kurwa spam.
>>
>>49710659
Y-yes?
>>
>>49711139
Wait, so you want to tell me that armies like haqislam or ariadna play with the same number of models as something like aleph or nomads? Wouldn't they end up totaly raped? same number of orders, with having weaker stats and unit efficiency.

I mean with HQ the Lt alone takes up 3-5 slots from a 10 man list, with saladin, 1-2 hawzas and the fideys .
>>
>>49711328
Play Haqq and have done a few limited insertion games. I've done a Saladin list with heavier things and it worked just fine.

Nice to have a reason to use my Jannisaries.
>>
>>49711328
Usually ALEPH and PanO tend to clock out at 10, Nomads and the like at 12-14 and Ariadna at 14-16. But each of those factions can play either full elite (like taking most Ariadna HI and elite units) or spammy (like the winning Interplanetario ALEPH list that had 14 orders – for ALEPH that is spam).

It is true that Ariadna and Haqqislam play better without Limited Insertion rule, but they can still play well within it.
>>
>>49711328
I should have said orders as models are not exactly the same. Haqq can play pretty fine at 10. Ariadna has some trouble but is kinda the poster child of kurwa spam and why limited insertion was invented from what I have gathered.

It literally just happened yesterday and most conversations about him happened face to face, not publicly online. But it was known that he often cheats in games (like claiming higher BS, Mimetism or stuff like that) and that he organizes "noob ITS tournaments" in which he takes part and naturally wins.

His excesses were ignored up until the tournament yesterday. It was a 200pts 4SWC casual tournament, but with ITS points. After the event (in which he placed second) some people went on to check in the army to see what they lost to, to learn how to play against ALEPH (as it is rather unpopular in Poland).

They quickly realized that his list was something like pic related (although sometimes Asura would have HD+, despite the MR).One guy pointed this out and asked the guy to post his list on the FB event page.
Xaos immediately started telling the guy that he remembered stuff wrong and called him salty. Then several other people who played him confirmed that those units were on the table, one guy giving a fully detailed batrep (I built the list based on it). TO confirmed that the list was illegal, Xaos continued to argue that people are remembering stuff wrong and his GF got in on it. Someone started arguing that it was TO's duty to require printed lists, others that this does not excuse the foul play. Xaos got silent for a while.

Next day in the Warsaw Infinity FB page Xaos posted a long post about how he started in March, loves the game, helped build the community but it's full of salty, dumb assholes that don't like a new guy beating him etc etc. After that pretty much everyone, especially the people that did actually build Warsaw Infinity community, denounced him, his skill as a player and his input into popularizing the game. Warsaw Infinity League organizer banned him for life from any related events and said that after this post he doesn't want to see him as well.

Someone posted this thread to the FB page. Full circle.
>>
So in Poland, it's okay to cheat as long as you dont get caught?

>>49712041
You need to thin your paints down. But for a newbie it's not bad especially since you seem to have some understanding of shadow and highlights. I think if you were to add some water to your paints and apply thinner layers, it'll turn out a lot better.
>>
>>49712789
>After the event (in which he placed second)
My mistake, he actually placed first. He 10-0'd everyone except one guy (who 8-0'd him) if I understand correctly.
>>
I don't know what the fuzz is about. Xaos wanted to be a pro 40k player for a few years. He sucked at it and failed on every tournament - local or regional. He then decided to switch to infinity and started to run his own tournaments. Still hard to call them tournaments, if there were 4-6 people playing. In both 40k and Infinity events he was known for cheating to put it mildly. There is only one question left - what system will he choose next. Please, don't let it be Malifaux. Oh, and on a side note - despite his huge ego - he is as much a ladies man as a good player ;)
>>
I just recently switched from some pretty cruddy paints to the Vallejo Model range at the recommendation of a friend.

>Vallejo Glaze Medium is fucking magical.

Oh really?

I have only ever used any mediums for ensuring washes don't get chalky, what other uses are there?
>>
>>49713434

Vallejo has a bunch of mediums (thinner, matte, gloss, glaze, etc.) For the most part they do what they say they will, but the glaze medium is the only one I use consistently.

Glaze medium makes the paint transparent but not too watery. It's excellent for highlights and color transitions.
>>
>>49713434
I can confirm that Vallejo Glaze Medium is amazing and you should drink it every day.

Seriously though, it's great for:
- adding a drop to a wash - reduces pooling, makes it smoother/better when you wash large parts of a mini
- mix a bit with paint, kinda blurs the edges, giving smoother transitions between colors. Very very good for highlighting.
- mix a bit with thinned paint, stops the paint from behaving like a wash and flowing into details. Makes the paint stay in place more.
- mix a lot with paint, gives you semi-transparent paint (like wash but that stays . Uses are up to you.

Glaze medium is just that, a medium for glazing. Glazing is a great way to get nice blending without having to wet blend. You can also just glaze to tint a surface towards the glaze color.

I did the skin in pic related using the glaze medium. Alternatively, you can simply use water, but the glaze medium helps dry more evenly

I actually did add water. I basically watched a ton of youtube vids or painting before hand. I think i applied the primer to thick and it was almost chalky. Any advice on how to apply primer? I was using P3 black spray primer, maybe a paint on primer would be better?

(any advice on how to strip models back down to metal :/ )
>>
>>49715641
I've used P3 before, it's alright.

If it's coming out chalky that can be for a bunch of reasons but usually it's either because of high humidity or spraying the primer from too far away.

If you want to stick to spray priming test out your primer on something random and disposable until you get a good idea of how far away you need to be spraying from. Also if you're doing a bunch of stuff at different times do your best to prime in similar conditions the best you can (in the afternoon when it is cooler if you live somewhere humid for example).

Alternatively if you don't mind brush priming then I have had great success with Vallejo Airbrush primers and just painting it on with a normal brush. You don't need to water it down at all and it's pretty auto-pilot as far as brush priming goes, though it will take a little care to ensure you don't end up with brush marks if you aren't used to priming by hand.

Of course the last alternative is airbrushing, but if you're just starting out it's probably best to leave something like that for later - they're a big investment and getting as much brush practice in while you're starting is always a good thing.

Also I'm sure you know this but ALWAYS wash your miniatures before priming.
>>
>>49715641
To apply primer evenly: first shake the can thoroughly. Keep about 8inches away. And when applying, spray in short bursts in a swaying motion like a pendulum. Spray on a piece of scrap or something to get the hang of it.
>>
>>49715641
Acetone goes thru acrylic like Doomguy thru demons. I am actually using infinity models to practice painting because of the high detail and they are metal. So stripping them is pretty easy. Soak for like an hour in acetone and then use an old toothbrush or whatever and scrub it right off.
>>

Going to start painting the PanO from Icestorm and need guidance on colors. I think I want to go with an EYE Divine Cybermancy theme but don't want to overdo the gold by just outlining every single edge. How would one make a bright/iridescent gold anyway? I am also thinking instead of going with black, using a dark red and glazing over with some black to have almost a warm black if that makes sense.

can't understand polish language. Seems like a lot of drama with jack and some other guys. Not sure, but it seems some take jack's side, and some the other's side, or something, translate is not very good, and I don't understand russian.

The funniest comment was how someone said they play toy soldiers like the compete in the olympics.

why is /tg/ infinity filled with nothing but russians and poles anyway? where are the people from the civilised countries? Still under the spell of GW? I blame the rulebook actually, since it was written in russian or some european language and translated into english, that's why its so confusing...
>>

There are plenty of people from other countries here, we just don't tend to join conversations about specific pollacks because we don't know them or speak their language.

The original rulebook was written in Spanish, CB is based in the exact opposite end of Europe to Russia.

Black is hard as a primary colour. Its hard to shade, and shades don't show up well. It makes the model look cool, but will dull-out a lot of the nice detail. Use it as a secondary colour.

I'd stick to brighter colours where you can shade and highlight to show off the details of your models.

Depends on your painting ability really. I think only the very good and very bad will work with black, but for all others, maybe look for other colours.

American here, I think you are way off base.

No idea about anything about europe. I always thought poland was some small village in russia where children run around barefooted, a babashuka with a huge carving knife will cut off chicken heads in the town square, and if you fell sick, they send you to baba yaga in the woods, where she'll ask you to lick a toad 6 times in exchange for the soul of your 5th daughter. never thought they were advanced enough to have electricity and running water, much less play wargames, which was why I thought CB was some ruski game developer that gave out miniatures to impoverished kids in poland on a trip back to the countryside or something.

ausfag here btw.

No, them females realy do like him. Don't ask me why, am not a female. What is odd is that he does not look like a regular table top player in warsaw. He ain't in the police or military, isn't juicing, isn't tall and cut. He looks rather efeminite.
>>
>>49717431
Nah, it's a big shitty field that everybody beats up whenever there's a war, but now Europe has spent so long without a proper war that the pollacks have started to do stuff like build a city and pretend to have an economy.

If I fuck it up then I will just strip it, and yea black is hard to work with which is why I was going to do it last. If you tint something enough, it should look black-like, right? The general idea is the heavier the unit, the more black it will be. So LI are mostly steel grey/some gold trim, cloth will probably be dark/muted green. MI will be mostly steel grey/more gold trim with some black like on faceplates and other areas. HI mostly black with steel as pauldrons and such with LOADSEGOLD. But that just feels like HI would be super gaudy if I don't do the gold right.

Maybe he got a special potion from baba yaga to make him attractive to the ladies? Sacrifice your little toe to baba yaga, and she'll give you a counterspell. Also, babashuka told me she wants you to collect some firewood and 3 spotted toadstools from the woods on your way there. She's cooking chicken innards for tea today.

why you russians gotta make your village disputes the center of everything? You're just a little village in the rural hills of russia, no one cares.
>>
>>49717597
Black will hide a lot of the details no matter how pro you are bro.

Maybe very dark grey is the way to go, like death corps of kriek grey
>>
>>49717634
This.

How the fuck some drama from a shoebox in the urals made it onto the Infinity thread is beyond me.

Go be faggots somewhere else.
>>
>>49717579
But this can't be true, my family lived in Poland pre WII, and we always lived in cities.
>>
>>49717634
But baba yaga is Russian, what does she have to do with polish folklor.
>>
>>49717708
Isn't poland a tiny village in rural russia?

If you look carefully, its not completely black, but very dark grey. Look at how the details shows, as its not completely black. Compare to death companywhich is completely black, where any detail they have is bling, and anything black is completely obscured.

Also, why are russians posting village politics on the infinity forum? I don't care if xao cheated in his local tourney, nor do I care that dimitri grew a 6th toe.

I'll let you in on a secret, mate. I know. That was a shitpost.
>>
>>49717800
To be fair, deathwatch are mostly large flat surfaces anyway. That is a really nice dark grey and I can probably get that to show faint deep red underneath it better for where light should be hitting surfaces.
>>
>>49717861
Actualy I wasn't arguing with you. My grandparents from both sides of family always said that poland was a shit country, and that if it werent for Jewish diaspora, they would not know culture or what cities are. Maybe not it changed, but in my grand parents and parents times, the country was divided in to normal people living in cities, which were jews, germans and some dutch, and the country side full of pollacks, ukrainians and gypsies.

Ey you fucks get in here
