Any one who has served in the military can spot how fake the uniform is. Tons of insignia no airman could get, plus the ridiculous number of ribbons. People who put on a uniform, but have never served often make mistakes like that, and are commonly called out for it. Its not technically a crime, but there are a lot of people that get pissed off at people who fake like they are or were in the military. And if you do it around the wrong people *cough*marines*cough* you will get your ass beat to hell.
>>
>>49684337
Honestly they would deserve the beatdown. I have never been in the military but I can understand that to some those medals mean a shit ton more than the metal they are made of. People had to go through hell to receive those medals a lot of times and many die and only receive them posthumously. Someone walking around and flaunting shit like that without ever going through anything just to look cool can definitely set someone off

I was in the Navy so I don't know off the top of my head a lot of the warfare pins, but generally you only see someone with one or two, I knew master chief, the highest enlisted rank, who had been in for 33 years and he only had 4. My dad has been in for 41 years and he only has three of the enlisted warfare pins and 3 of the officer ones. So that should tell you how ridiculous and obviously fake someone that young having 6 enlisted warfare pins is.

Their rank, typically. E1-3 you are addressed by your last name informally, or Seaman [Lastname] formally. If you're a Petty Officer, E4-6, you're addressed as "Petty Officer" if you don't know them. If you do know them, there's this whole thing incorporating our job titles that Uncle Sam is phasing out, but I won't get into it. E7+ is addressed as Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief.

Idiot.
If you heard how similar Russians spoke of the Soviet years, you'd hear them saying that it was the least bad time in Russian history, which is the highest praise they can give given their sense of 'humor'.
Just because things were good for some people or even that there were major social improvements in the general sense doesn't mean the people in charge weren't the scum of the earth who should have been shot before entering office.
Again, I'm going to point to America here.

You see that blue medal, the badge with the rifle and laurel around it? Thats the CIB, the Combat Infantry Badge. It's given only (pretty sure) to Infantrymen who have been in combat, i.e. shot at and returned fire. I am 627640.99% positive that the Airforce doesn't use them

dude must have changed services. Was in the Army long enough to get deployed three times, go to Air Assault and Jump School, have a combat jump and go to SF school (in other pictures he has a Green Beret as well) But not Ranger School (no tab). Get a United Nations Medal, A Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Airman's Medal, A Bronze Star with Silver Oakleaf Cluster, A Coast Guard Recruiting Ribbion, Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Combat Action Medal, Airman's Medal, Purple Heart and a Distinguished Flying Cross. And that is just the ones I can identify easily.

ETS out and convince the Air Force he was so badass that they let a prior service Army join. And then soared up through the ranks and become a master Sargent.
>>
>>49685703
I don't want to derail the thread, but...
I was trying to say that, if the objective of nazi propaganda was to make its people believe that they were living in the best country imaginable, then it worked with the person that wrote the letter.

there was a recent case of it happening here in Canada

not that Canada doesn't have a cool military history, but there's a fair amount of anti-military sentiment here now. people don't even wear red poppies anymore because they feel it supports the military, and wear white ones instead that signify peace or some dumb numale shit that totally misses the point of the poppy in the first place (its from a poem)

anyway, the reaction to this guy posing as a CF member at a parade or something was mostly along the lines of "Why would you pose as a person no one likes?" even the judges in the case found the guy to be sympathetic and understanding of his wrongdoing, but it was still confusing why he did it at all

You sound like you're Québécois. Here in Alberta we are very supportive of our troops.
The only troops we don't like are the Brits up at CFB Suffield who always come down and make a mess in the pubs. Even then, they're easy enough to deal with.

>Combat Infantryman Badge

If the copy of the regulations I found are accurate:

The CIB is authorized for award for the following qualifying wars, conflicts, and operations (see para 8–6g on subsequent award of the CIB)

(1) World War II (7 December 1941 to 3 September 1945).
(2) Korean War (27 June 1950 to 27 July 1953).
(3) Republic of Vietnam Conflict (2 March 1961 to 28 March 1973) combined with qualifying service in Laos (19
April 1961 to 6 October 1962).
(4) Dominican Republic (28 April 1965 to 1 September 1966).
(5) Korea on the demilitarized zone (DMZ) (4 January 1969 to 31 March 1994).
(6) El Salvador (1 January 1981 to 1 February 1992).
(7) Grenada (23 October to 21 November 1983).
(8) Joint Security Area, Panmunjom, Korea (23 November 1984).
(9) Panama (20 December 1989 to 31 January 1990).
(10) SWA Conflict (17 January to 11 April 1991).
(11) Somalia (5 June 1993 to 31 March 1994).
(12) Afghanistan (OEF, 18 September 2001 to 31 December 2014; OFS, 1 January 2015 to a date to be determined).
(13) Iraq (OIF, 19 March 2003 to 31 August 2010; OND, 1 September 2010 to 31 December 2011).
(14) OIR (15 June 2015 to a date to be determined).

So shortest time frame is Somalia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. So 10 years.

canadians are polite, not nice

it's even reflected in our government. you'd think that immigration is easy, but it's points based with a limited number per year. you'd think that it'd be easy to live as an illegal here, but you need several pieces of primary identification to do basically anything. canadian federal bureaucracy is basically as close as we'll get to the 40k Administratum in our lifetime, and the behaviour of the provinces is more openly hostile to eachother than US states are, despite US states being more of a tight federation like the EU rather than being objectively part of a continuous state. and our military, while small, is fairly well trained, cross-trained on lots of different pieces of kit, and literally everyone from infantry to clerks have to know how to use the service rifle and requalify yearly. we also all go through the same basic training, as least as defined by some crusty legal document of what must be taught and demonstrated by pupils. we also basically invented modern infantry doctrine of aggressive flanking covered by suppressive fire. contrast this to the US that has easier or harder basic training depending on their trade, doesn't even bother training "pogs" on weapons at all, and was still buying into the cult of the rifleman until the Vietnam War.

if anything, we're polite and good neighbors and such more out of wont to not get into street fights with eachother and knowledge that cooperation is literally more bountiful than the alternative, rather than out of genuine good will or peaceful nature.

Think about it, after the failed Jewish coup in 1918, in the image of the 1917 Jewish takeover of Russia, the Jewish central bank destroyed the german currency used to pay forced reparations in the treaty of versaille. This ruined the receivers like France and England as well as Germany, creating a financial collapse in the weimar republic.

By 1933 starvation was common and mothers murder suiciding their kids was common. Hitler won the elections democratically in an almost unanimous sweep. The first thing he did was print a fiat currency to be given in exchange for an hour of government work. He rebuilt the infrastructure and made Germany one of the richest, most properous countries on Earth by 1938. Bankers obviously could not let the secret of debt free currency get out and spread or they'd lose all power.

Today, Trump is trying to get rid of America's central bank to take control of the fiat currency back for the government.

Ironically they compare him to Hitler.

Guess how WW2 got started. After WW1, poland was given a large part of Germany with germans living there, unwilling to leave. Poland muredered 80k of them in 1939 to provoke Germany so the rest of the central bank controlled nations could declare war.

All the wars in the middle east are because palestine was destroyed and the populace chased off to the rest of the region. Why does Israel even exist?

/pol/ harbor was an event in December 2014 where Moot and the mods trolled /pol/ by removing captcha, directing other boards to raid it, marking all posts with [trigger warning], adding a privilege checker and put a word filter on them. well, /pol/ was essentially witch hunted everywhere else. You can barely call someone/a group of people 'niggers' without getting told to go back to /pol/. /pol/ was still there, because he never deleted it, yet leaking out has become harder than ever.

All /pol/ harbor was, was /pol/ trying to(and failing) to leech on other boards. They couldn't even take over fucking /mlp/

I have to admit, I was surprised when I read the book version of Generation Kill and found out Doc was actually in the Navy (having qualified for the SEALs, even), rather than being a marine. It kind of explained why he could be rather more outspoken than the others toward dumb officer stuff, though.

I'm Canadian, though, and wasn't really familar with the whole 'all the marine doctors are actually navy corpsmen' thing.

>They couldn't even take over fucking /mlp/

That's because /mlp/ feeds on hate and rage; it was a board born from /b/ trolling and /co/ autism, created purely because no one on 4chan could handle technicolor horses without exploding into a font of unending butthurt. They knew they were the most hated bunch on the site (for a time) and fucking reveled in it.

/mlp/ consisted entirely of spammers, it's no surprise that /pol/ trying to spam them failed. To this day stealth pony threads pop up to bait a specific autist and ruin everything. What was the old /b/ saying? Like pissing into an ocean of piss?

pic unrelated but on topic.

No but essentially, his opponent was using deep strike cheese to posistion his troops wherever he wanted dynamically on the board. His troops could enter anywhere on the board without units there.

So the kroot guy deployed his units along the entire length of the game field so he couldn't deploy anywhere. As a result, he could not deploy and had no units on the table, thus his force was counted as destroyed. Tabled in 1.

This game is pretty great, I liked it at least, most people I showed it to hated it.

This isn't an actual match from the game though, this is some people that planned out this webm, and gave themselves unlimited time per frame and max frames per second of action.

Normally you get like 15 or so seconds to pick which muscles work what way, and if you fall down or get dismembered you lose, most of the higher level / championship games are just grabbing a limb and forcing it off it's body.

8/10 fun indie game.

Alright I guess

So, this was one of our first shadowrun campaigns. So, of course, we had neglected to roll a Face for the party. We had a street samurai who took the meaning too literally, an orc demolition expert, and a wannabee orc techie, and a gunner who knew everything there was to know about assault rifles. Our GM thankfully had the idea of giving us face, although he made her a bit too gungho for our taste. The NPC we were given was a CEO's Daughter, who had had enough of the quiet life, and now wanted to live life on the edge. She always wanted to run and gun with the best, even demanding we take her along on stealth missions. We got annoyed.

Eventually our wannabee orc techie decided he had had enough, and before our next stealth op, began passing notes to our GM. He and the face left the room for a minute so she could "Learn the Ropes from a master of hacking". He came back to the party with a small wave, and simply told us she wouldn't be joining us on our mission today. The party was thankful she had an ounce of reason for once, and simply left as quickly as we could before she changed her mind.

The op went relatively well, nobody even shot at us. Obviously, we were all on edge because of that. A stealth op going well means shits about to hit the fan. So we returned to our current hideout with guns drawn and taking perception rolls almost every other step. That's when we noticed we had been ransacked.

I suppose now I should mention that our party had run afoul of a local crime lord one too many times, and were currently on the tippy top of his shit list for various reasons I don't really need to get into. Either way, we had no doubt he had found this place, and had decided to rob us of our hard earned money and gear. Granted, we took most of it with us, but he did steal quite a bit of our emergency funds. And our techie kept fidgeting everytime the GM described how easily the place had been ransacked.
>>
>>49691591
Cont.

We grilled our techie, and found out he'd forgotten to set up our security before we left. When we asked him why, he mentioned something about being occupied, before hastily making very good friends with a corner. Eventually we found a ransom note.

It was pretty standard, just a petty "HAHAHA, I'VE ROBBED YOU SUCKERS." and we were pretty put out by it, until the GM described the picture enclosed in the letter.

It was a picture of our Face NPC, bound and gagged, with the caption, "2000000 nuyen or she dies!" It was then that the techie came clean. Not only had he forgotten to lock up, he had left one of our most valuable contacts bound and gagged to a chair, with no way of getting free. He lost security privileges for a while after that.

Eventually, we managed to rescue her, but only after our street samurai got himself shot thrice, and our AR specialist got his favorite gun broken. At least our Demo Orc got to blow up the Gang Leader once and for all, but the Face refused to talk to the Wannabee techie for at least an in game month.

We made sure to keep an eye on him after that.
