I LOVE Alekhine's Defense, /tg/.
What do YOU love?
I like that one opening I actually know how to play. I forgot how it's called.
the one that is
e4 e5
Nc3 Nf6
>>49669275
1…c5 or 1…c6 is better for Black and as White 1. e4 isn't the best move to start with.

Vienna game?
>>49669275
Najdorf Sicilians and Queen's Gambits declined.
>>49670429
No, I confused left and right.
Where do you find the names for these maneuvers?
>>49669275
But then what do you do next turn if white moves his pawn up to threaten the horse?
>>49669275
I LOVE the little horsie shaped ones, OP.
What do YOU love?

Not OP, but usual Alekhine's defense is predicated on that. The most common variation by a fair amount goes:
1. e4, Nf6
2. e5, Nd5
3. d4, d6
4 Nf3, Bg4
5. Be2, e6.
I love games that aren't so stale that every logical move has its own name.

St. George in response to E4 and Chigorin's defense for Queen's gambit.

What? Just because things are named doesn't mean things are stale.
The point of openings is not to win the game directly, but to assure you can reach the unmapped mid/late games either ahead or at least even.
Which opener you choose dramatically affects how the midgame and lategame will play out.
