On a semi-related note, have we speculated on the origin walkers yet?

I was really unimpressed with Chandra since the new storytelling era began. Her characterization was just HURR DURR I DONT WANNA DO HOMEWORK I WANNA PLAY SAVE THE WORLD. She felt like a waste of a character, but she wasn't relly connected to the Zendiiar plot (even if her fuckups let the eldrazi out).

Sure, Kaladesh is her plane and her story, I thought "ok, lets give her a chance, this might be good".

Then Ajani shows up and steals everyone's fucking thunder.

It's the multiplaner smuggling guild that Tezzeret used to run. In Jace's intro book, he joins and is mentored by Tezzy, and Liliana is sort of a temp.

Eventually Lili strikes up a deal with Bolas to give control of the group to the dragon, and plans to use Jace to do it.

Jace mindfucks Tezzy hard but refuses to give over the knowledge on the Infinite consortium, effectively dumping Lili and screwing Bolas all at once.

The consortium should still be active, but without a leader.

That might be due to the way the Origins five are written: in collaborative meetings and then they appear in many stories written by different people. Planeswalkers beside the main story only appear in singular stories and don't seem to have that many restrictions to them so they can be fleshed out more by the writer in whose story they appear. Whereas the Origins five are the subject of many writing prompts and even silly debates like "How would Jace and Gideon move a couch together?" I can imagine this leads to characters quickly becoming caricatures of themselves. I hope Wizards fixes this in the future and gives the Five a more layered personality.
