I wanted to put a relevant Gurren Lagann quote here but I can't think of any.
As promised, the new endgame scenarios for Gurren Lagann. Instead of being forced to save Simon and Nia, you now have the option to either conquer the earth for the Anti-Spirals, surviving the events of part 2 on hard mode, or create peace between the Spirals and Anti-Spirals.

Please tell me if any of this is too long or difficult to read that way I can fix it before updating the PDF.
>>
>>49645631
I like it. Other than the 'Ant-spirals' at the end there.

Deadman is obvious, but why the heck does he want to redo Medaka Box? Far as I can tell the only complaint anyone had was that the powers were just giving you canon stuff, but that's like half of our jumps anyway.

Ant spirals are an actual thing.

Ants can get lost and end up following each other in a circle until they all die.

The jump is basically nothing, Science smarty guy background gets a bunch of vague freebies that may or may not do something, the big draw (Branches of Sin) are glossed over hard and there's a perk which may or may not be a trap that trivializes the previous purchases by giving everything to you anyway and an alternate evil personality (which isn't actually canon, apparently, thanks to a plot twist I'm not gonna spoil by specifying but probably did anyway if you've got more than two brain cells), and probably some more shit I forgot because I can't be bothered to actually read the jump again.

You don't drag old drama into the new thread. That's shitposting.

Damn you KOTOR you vile tempter. You're making me doubt my choice of Dragonball as an End Jump.
>>
>>49645996
He was unpopular here. He had a power absorbing build back when jumpchain was much lower power and people would get really nasty if you got too strong or tried to get powers the jump wouldn't let you buy. So obviously DFC/Moe was hated for that, when these days nobody would even blink. Because of this, nobody wanted or bothered to try and stop the shitposter form harassing him, and eventually his activity started to drop off before one day he stopped coming here.
>>
If i go to fairy tail, and pick up fire X slayer magic, and then go to worm and pick up stellar fusion, can I eat the mini-suns, or does that break the 'dont eat own magic' rule that slayers have?

By you? I've never heard of a complaint like that against Medaka Box.

>>

>>
>>49646046

>>
>>49646034
>DFC didnu nuthin wrong
Yeah, totally not his fault at all. It's not like he said he could eat Azathoth with just Prototype Blacklight and routinely wanked other things that hard, or put non canon things into his jumps just to serve his own builds better. Nah, it was everyone else's fault.
>>
>>49646051
I think anon's forgetting the meaning of that word again. Closest thing to a complaint of powergrabbing I recall Medaka Box getting is the usual Real Eater wankery.

But I do remember complaints about the jump just giving you canon powers... while at the same time talking shit about everyone being unique.

Then there's the usual faffing about with trying to bypass the power limitation but that's besides the point here. In fact, I'd say that's the exact opposite of the point he is trying to state.
>>
>>49646065
Isnt plasma just REALLY hot fire?

...Can I be a plasma dragon slayer?
>>
>>49645631
Is it possible to win the first scenario by getting rid of mankind's potential with spiral energy, or do we have to ensure they stay down and are bellow one million?
>>

Not replacing, there is obviously something seriously wrong with it, and i remember it being a decent jump, though that was just after i had finished the series. see what I wrote above.
>>49646102
Fire is just weak plasma, and plasma is just gas with a decent amount of ionization so yeah go for it. Might want to pick up some ionikinesis to go with it. Teen titans has exactly that.

Pic Related.

In truth for a Jumper not running diminishing returns like myself and in the later double digits you should be able to do it, why?
Pile on the Therapy no Jutsu and various other mental health Perks along with perhaps hitting her with some Harem Perks so that she want to go with you and that should do it.
If you have less scruples then you can just go full Mindrape without the need for a healthy thinking mind.
No matter what prepare to be told you either A) Have bad taste in Waifu and/or 2. Are a Waifu-ing shitty person c. etc.

I dunno, I suspect this is kinda like how fire and ice are treated as different elements for magical purposes? Aren't ice and water spells differentiated there? Also wouldn't plasma be less efficient for a dragon slayer because it's harder to find plasma rather than fire to absorb in enough quantities to do the magic sucking spitting thing?

Right, so, go to worm first, then fairy tail.
>>
>>49646112
The latter, the scenario must be completed as written. The Anti-Spirals would probably still think humanity would be dangerous without Spiral power, and I doubt you could rid them of it since it's entangled with the universe like the Force is in Star Wars.

>>
>>49646212
I normally wouldn't, but putting in noncanon bullshit to pander to your specific playstyle or deliberately misrepresenting the setting's capabilities is absolutely grounds for being bullied of the site. Same shit Bancho/Tera did, and it's a damn shame we haven't been able to get rid of him. Same shit certain SB members were accused of, like vampire diaries guy.
>>
>>49646212

>>49646252

All I'm getting from this is that you have him because he falls on the wrong side of your petty imaginary dichotomy of nerfer and powerwanker.
>>
>>49646230
You know, I was really hoping the month of spooks would result in more horror jumps getting made, or at least claimed.

All I noticed was Universal Horror, and while that's a fucking classic, it's not enough.
>>
>>49646208
Oh, but will getting rid of their potential help with the scenario. Since Spiral Power is all about the individual 'evolving' and what not, would it be possible to make it easier on ones self by stripping them of their potential/evolution?
>>
So... contacting him would be impossible? Damn.
>>
>>49646261
Literally your only complaint is Savage Salvage, which he explained to be trying to explain how Abyssals get ordinance.
>>
>>49646249
Depends. If you're playing the actual game? Fuck if I know, people have argued that since it came out.

If you're doing a jump of it? I'd say Eclipse. None of the other effects, except maybe the stealthy one, are stuff you can't find elsewhere and even that's only maybe cause it depends on how you interpret charms/essence in terms of magic or whatever. Eclipse (And the ones like it) lets you learn charms of other exalts, handy if we don;t have all the jumps made yet, and if I recall right has that nifty oath enforcing power too.
>>
Um, question about the Familiar of zero jump. Is there any basis for the precog perk, or did that just get thrown in randomly?
>>
>>49646249
Eclipse because getting every charm ever is borked in jumpchain.
2 mote surcharges are almost meaningless once you get past essense 4.
Of course in actual Exalted they're not so great because limited exp but that doesn't matter when you have learning perks.

Eclipse is life.

Eclipse is how you make oaths so devious that with the help of a Fiend they can screw over the Ebon Dragon by exploiting a clause in his surrender oaths to transfer your botches to him.

>>49646207
If I recall the "improve magic with science" powers are in GATE and Mage: The Awakening actually. Unless you mean to rig up your own plasma reactor in which case fair enough.

The trick is maintaining the mutually exclusive beliefs that you're part of the dreamer who creates the world and an individual with a unique separate existence.

The typical result is to have never existed, but with sufficient willpower (perks) you too can become like Talos or Vivec and have access to what amounts to the creation kit of the universe.

It was a rubbish explaination. It is like "explaining" that Stands in JoJo come from farting.

>literally

That doesn't prevent it from being a valid one.

And it's far from my only one; the separation of Dark Binding and Alucard's Hug in Hellsing, and as for Touhou-the inclusion of unique abilities without canon basis. Emphasis on UNIQUE; I don't mind things like dollmaker or the elemental one which IIRC were just the result of hard practice, but stuff like Flandre's thing or Pandemonium which are things nobody but a specific character has.
>>
>>49646282
Yeah, if you somehow manage to remove their potential for it the scenario would become much easier. But you'd still have to destroy civilization, keep humanity underground for a thousand years and ensure their population doesn't rise to one million.

Quite belatedly for the anon that keeps asking about abominations and I keep getting distracted:

Every time anyone has ever asked, I have been very clear that you get your ancestry from the current jump. If I wrote something in there that it included prior jumps, that was done in error and is not how I intended it. You only get your notable ancestry from Dune.

Keep in mind that history pretty much went canonically with real life until the eighties or nineties at least, one of your ancestors was almost guaranteed to be Genghis Khan, and also probably includes most notable figures in history that had kids because that's how genetics works over a long enough timespan.

Alternate suggestion: He could have based the perks off the protagonists instead of just randomly grabbing everyone he could.

Shrine Maiden origin based off Sanae and Reimu, capstone is summon gods.
Witch Origin based on Marisa, with capstone being either Master Spark or a "Spell Card Capture" ability to let you analyze and, with work, replicate enemy abilities with magic.
Servant of the Immortals origin based on Reisen and Youmu, based around being a hypercompetent sidekick, learning from a master, and dealing with eccentricities.
Youkai origin: Based around being a youkai, with powers like feeding on fear, the ability to cause "incidents", etc.

The only thing I know of with a title like that is a Haruki Murakami book

And before you ask, I can't comprehend how you'd make a jump out of any of those. Or worse/better, a Generic Haruki Murakami jump.

>>49646371

Why does basing you off the most boring and generic characters make it better? That's the exactly same problem you were complaining about, only condensed and giving you less ability to make yourself distinct. Why don't you just come out and admit what your REAL problem is? It's already obvious from the way your suggestions don't give you any REAL powers. Fuck, your Reimu idea doesn't even mention her true powers.

Ugh, please no. Nevermind that the type moon side is basically OC shit blessing made up so he could have generic mccool protagonist, do you really want to have to deal with running a nasuverse jump that has servant stuff in it?

Haruki Murakami is a pleasure to read (in Japanese, I've never understood the commotion with translations), but really his talent lies in writing scenes and exchanges well, while using an existing world. Really can't see a jump out of it.
>>
>>49646501
Reimu's idea doesn't have Float, because that's a unique Reimu thing, not a Shrine Maiden thing, which "Summon Gods" is. Since, you know, some variation of Summon Gods has been demonstrated with 3 different characters (Moonbitch and Reimu with he proper version, Sanae with a more limited "Moriya only" version.)

Very true. At least some of the crossovers can be good, it's just that those are usually the short ones.
>>
>>49646507
Well the idea would have been to use the fanfic for window dressing and have a +0cp drawback to replace the crossover with your stuff instead of Fate or Prototype stuff.
So all the void familiars would have been people from other jumps that probably have a bone to pick with you, and artifacts such as the plane or staff of destruction would be replaced with equivalents from where you've been.
But that's probably way too dirty to pull and once again I'm really lazy so I doubt I'll ever get around to it.
>>
>>49646574
'float' isn't her sole power. She can control natural spirits, cast youkai extermination magic, blessings, and the creation and destruction of barriers.

You still refuse to just come out and say you wanted Touhou to be low power for no reason. It's clear from your suggested backgrounds and perks that you didn't want jumpers to get even low-tier powers.
>>
>>49646521
They'd probably just get a random set of parents' memories and trace it back from there.
>>
>>49646549
But anon, we already have that jump.
It's called SCP Foundation.
The movie is clearly just them losing containment of… something. Something similar to 2317, if I had to guess.

Or maybe you're the kind of dude who believes everything Whedon works on is connected, and the giants are the reason humans had to leave 'Earth-That-Was' in Firefly.
>>
>>49646555

>>49646610
Are people really this desperate that they'll start farming fanfics to make a jump out of?
>>
>>49646620
... Summon Gods isn't low Tier. Moonbitch used it to smack around the whole moon invasion team, and Reimu used it to create a metal for nuclear fusion for Sanae despite having no idea what the hell that is. Youkai extermination magic and blessings fall under "Shrine Maiden" stuff, and would probably just be part of the background, like how shooting lasers would be part of the magician background. Creation and destruction of barriers has more to do with her actually practicing that, what with being the anchor for all of Gensokyo. And personally I consider the natural spirits as part of summon gods, but I acknowledge that others probably don't, so my bad for not mentioning that one, yes.
>>
>>49646610

>>49646665
It's mostly just the sheer number, in English we two orders down from the number of common-use Kanji, and a lot of kanji have only small differences between them.

Why does "New Bleach" have so many "fans"? I don't even think you're actual SBers because I've noticed even the recent crowd there accepts a degree of separation between our communities.

Frankly I think it's annoying of you. If we're going to accept that jumps need to pass a (subjective and informal, admittedly) standard of assesment to get onto the main drive, the least we can do is honor that stance by not pressuring people from other sites to make jumps for us just because we want them to.
>>
>>49646693
Doesn't he have enough on his plate? Don't need to go overloading the guy. He's not even really done with new bleach either.

It's exclusively an external ability. You're not strong, you're using other entities to do things for you. You're a weakling.

And for other backgrounds you suggested 'generic copy perk', 'learning' and 'being scary'. Those aren't even fucking powers, and they're the most generic things I can imagine; these show up everywhere. And you had the gall to claim that it's less boring than giving you some mid-high tier canon powers.

Giant Evil Gods. Skip to about 2:25 for the good stuff.
Cabin in the Woods is actually a surprisingly high-level setting.
I mean, GEGs are at least city busters, just going by size.
And the organization, despite how easily they seem to handle every other monster, are absolutely terrified of the GEGs, having multiple alternate rituals around the world going on at the same time, just in case one or more ritual fails.

Why the hell does Rumia's darkness power, Soar, Eirin's medical skill, Reimu's god-summoning, and Suika's density manipulation all fall under the same umbrella? What possible similarity is there between Hakutaku's gift (used by a scoolteacher representing a fucking advisor) Scarlet Destiny, Third Eye of Satori, and Spirit Camera? Third eye and Destiny, fine, those two get away with being "ruler" abilities, I suppose, but why the fuck are Third Eye and Hakutaku's gift in there?

>>49646782
You're complaining about it using canon powers in a setting where people have unique powers. Ergo, genericness.

A complaint about the backgrounds not being thematically similar is another matter entirely, and one that holds more weight. Doesn't mean your no-powers background suggestions were an improvement, though.

You clearly don't understand summoning if you think it's a matter of using other entities to do things for you. Just WOW boy, WOW. I have nothing further to say on this matter.

>>49646729
It's kind of ironic. Back before I left, there was already the notion that if you didn't like the Bleach jump, make your own, jump it, and then don't talk about it. It's a solution that works fine as long as you're not looking to show off this fancy new jump you made. (and making jumps for recognition is equally questionable)

Now for the third thread in a row this is being brought up again.

Hell, even the Servant one mostly just gets away with the users being servants, instead of the powers being an inherently "servant" style thing, but whatever, I can forgive that. Hell, I'd be fine with it giving out Yukari's, Tenshi's, and Yuugi's as a trifecta of "Drop In" powers as long as there was a fucking theme behind it. (I'm not actually suggesting that. To be clear. I'm just trying to make a point.)

They had to lock the fuckers up first. Yeah, they probably did it one at a time, but they use the same lock up method for all of them. That's some pretty dope security.
And the Director (Sigourney Weaver, I mean) mentioned that they've been doing this for a long ass time, which is a decent success record The ritual we see occur in the movies was just under the full effects of Murphy's Law at the time. You ever have one of those days where nothing goes right?

>Unshakeable Resolve
That seems like a really good willpower perk for just 100cp. At least it's certainly better then the other 100cp stuff.

>When You're Evil
That seems really really abusable. Maybe have it have diminishing returns as you go up in skill, requiring more and more evil acts to get the equivalent of a day of training? Kind of hypocritical, don't you think? It's easy to say that their death is worth it when it's not you on the chopping block. Most people instinctively cling to life, even when they know they're going to die regardless of what they do.
>>
>>49647290
To be fair, for a Jumper it's "Us or that other guy." For them it was "Us or us AND that other guy, and also all those unrelated guys."

Working on Shaman King for a bit. These are the ghost capstones, tell me what you think.

600 cp - Oni
Oni are, in effect, a walking Oversoul powered by negative emotions such as hatred and resentment. You, are not an Oni. Well, you can be if you want, but you don’t have to be. Before your death, you were friends with a shaman of some form. Afterwards, the shaman took something of yours - a favored coin, a talisman, maybe a finger bone - turned it into a medium for your ghost, and charged it with furyouku. Running out of furyouku isn’t the end of the world, but it does mean that you can’t form an Oversoul - or a visible body - until you get a recharge.

600 cp - Genius Loci
At the beginning of a jump, you may choose a ‘territory’ to be your home. When inside this location, you gain limited omnipotence - you are aware of everything and everyone inside of it, and have the ability to read their surface thoughts and emotions. You can also alter the area slightly, from moving things around with telekinesis to turing cold water hot, or maybe instantly cooking a can of soup. Lastly, you gain a power boost drawn from the ambient magical power. Leaving this territory isn’t really supposed to be possible, but a powerful shaman may be able to bring you with them, though you will forfeit the power boost. Or you could not be a spirit and just walk out.
>>
>>49647290
See >>49647317

They weren't going to live either way. They decided that instead of dying for everyone's sake, they'd take all the innocent people with them. That's not selfish, that's spiteful.
>>
>>49647324
It'll get abused one way or another, but that's pretty much a guarantee if universe access is a given.
>>
>>49647216
A question about classes and skills.... does "certainly
doesn't prevent you from learning skills normally" suggest that we can learn/train the stats and skills of other skills (albeit slowly)? Could, say, a magician practice swinging a sword for a few thousand years, maybe do a few sit ups (i.e. intensive training), and reach the level 10 ridiculousness described by the warrior class? Does being a hero mean we have that level of insane potential in /all/ areas?

I've not touched the manga so I've got no idea if old heroes ending up as jacks-of-all-trades is a normal thing for the setting (or even a possible thing).
>>
>>49647324
I'm not so sure about that. From the way the jump reads, it seems as if even if the powerlevels go that high, it's not like you're just getting that type of power in a decade or two. People always seemed okay with big damage if you need to actually work for it.
>>
>>49647375
>limited omnipotence
Could you possibly pick a more controversial wording of this?
>>
>>49647375
>omnipotence
Avoid this.
>>
>>49647375
Just say 'you gain a certain amount of control over your territory."

Jeeze dude, were you trying to start something with that wording? Not funny.
>>
>>49647376
That was my point, yes. Jumpers have a choice between living or dying, they had a choice between dying alone or taking everyone with them. It's not at all an equivalent choice.

>>49647375
Omnipotence means "I can do anything." You want "omniscience" which is "I know everything." Assuming your "Limited Omnipotence" statement is referring to the awareness, as it implies.

>>49647392

>>
>>49647375
I love the Genius Loci perk, but you'll probably want to use a different word than omnipotence. The word limited in front of it will not stop the autists from screaming bloody hell.
>>
>>49647324
Eh, all the multiverse stuff really means is that there's a multiverse within the space defined by that jump. It doesn't have to mean traversing from jump to jump.

Rick and Morty already gives us the ability to travel between dimensions within a jump-local multiverse
>>
>>49647376
Oh, wait, you were pointing at me. Whoops, misunderstanding. Ignore >>49647425

>>
>>49647375
I think using the word "omnipotence", or even "limited omnipotence" is probably a bad idea. Maybe "immense power" or something would be better? Seems less likely to spark huge arguments that way.

>>49647375
>>49647427
Just remove the mention of Omnipotence and leave the description, it covers everything you can do anyway.
>>
>>49647450

>>
>>49647256

>>49647455

>>
>>49647469
I'd at least like an answer Mr Acting Like A Gigantic Faggoty Asshole For No Reason
>>
>>49647385
Yes. There's nothing stopping you from training normally and learning other skills any more than there's anything stopping you from learning some other random skill in another jump that you didn't pick up. The difference is that you have natural talent in your class skills; you learn them faster, at least somewhat, because you're just pretty good at that kind of thing. But a magician can absolutely pick up a sword and spend a thousand years to become a level 10 swordsman. It's just going to take a whole lot longer than it would take for him to become a level 10 magician.

So you could become a level 10 in everything. It's just going to take... well, a really long time. Like on the order of thousands of years of training.
>>
>>49647491
COULD I at least get an answer? Thought I was being pretty polite in my criticism, seems a little...weird that you just seem to ignore all my posts without even a reason?

So essentially there's four cases here:
a) The multiverse magic only works in jump as per IP rules, and fails outside of it due to system incongruity.
b) The multiverse magic ..., and outside of jump according to the current IP's multiversal state.
c) The multiverse magic ..., and outside of jump depending on whether the jumper can create multiverses.
d) The multiverse magic ...., and outside of jump, as long as the jumper uses other universes that don't have association to any specific IP (say, original fiction, crossover fiction, etc.)

As a veteran in exploiting the idea of evil for profit, people always underestimate the small, petty evils when it comes to net gain. Oh sure, I could brutally ravage an entire village, wasting resources and manpower on organizing a proper ravage that isn't immmediately shut down by the proper authorities.

Or I can simply turn down every. Single. Advance I get in this world and drink their disappointment. Like a perpetual prayer wheel turning on the TECHNICAL lie of me being unavailable because I'm still sad my girlfriend left me.

Anyway. Yeah, this is probably what being a Sidereal feels like. So many problems in the multiverse, so little time to weave fate such that all of them are solved as efficiently and at as many removes away from me as possible. That demon king has grown jaded and can become a good hero. That hero is becoming conceited and must have his corruption exposed. That retired hero has the skill to fill the power vacuum left behind by the other dead demon king. And so on, and so forth.

I've come full circle: Here I am in front of a computer obsessively trying to win arguments with people over the magical internet. Granted those problems are more along the lines of agony aunt-style advice than shitposting, but still.

So yeah, I'm busy. Congratulations Elodie, yes fine-I'm okaying that research project of yours. Gotta study whatever the hell Star Metal (presumed no relation to starmetal) is. Damn Harem Heroes! has the effect of essentially giving you a harem; probability just conspires to make these girls love you. These aren't specific people, they're just random normals. You can target people with the perk directly but the effect is mitigated; it's not a guaranteed victory like the randoms. You have to work to get them to love you. But once you do the rest of the perk will fall in line.

Unshakable Resolve is probably kind of unbalanced there, yeah. I didn't really have anywhere else to put it though. Maybe I should switch it with On The Trail? It's based on a couple of the Heroes.

When You're Evil balances itself; it gives you the equivalent of a day of training. How effective that day of training is depends on where you are. If you're a master swordsman already then you're obviously going to get less from slaughtering people with a sword than if you're a novice swordsman. It's one day of training by yourself.
>>
>>49647599
If it's the latter, then that's some SMT level bullshit.
>>
>>49647543
Find a shaman and barter for it? The character this is based on was a retainer of the asakura family, so you could do that as well and get one of them to do it. Or leave it in your Genius Loci location and let it absorb the ambient mana.

That trick will only work in YOUR Genius Loci though, so if you dont take the perk it doesnt work.

>>49647552

>>49647615
On the other hand if this setting really is this amazing in terms of multiverse editing and creation, at least it'll put all of the powerlevel arguments out of commission. By the time you can rewrite multiverses and reality, the rest of it shouldn't have to be argued over.
>>
>>49647628
Can we have the genius loci be the warehouse?
>>
>>49647650
Yes.

It would be a shitty one, as I highly doubt that the warehouse has any ley lines or similar.

Maybe if you picked up a few macguffin tier magic items, or enough regular ones for an army and left them lying around, but that would probably drain them after a while.

But yes, you can.
>>
>>49647613
Thanks.

I'd say switch it and lower the extent of it just a little maybe. It's one of the top willpower perks I've actually seen in the chain, especially with that bit at the end.

My problem with When You're Evil is that it's way, way way better then normal training ever could be. You can spend hours and hours training or just kill 3-4 people in seconds. The amount of people you could kill, especially since you're constantly getting better as you do, in one day is pretty crazy. if you take into account the sort of power you might be able to achieve...well. If say, 5 people count as that peasant family, I kill a million people in one big attack from some shonen jump (or after I've gotten to high levels in this one if it allows it), does that mean I get 540+ years of training in whatever I want instantly? What if I just spread some super infectious disease that kills millions, do I just rack up thousands of years of training in whatever I like for what might only take a couple weeks or months?

Just feels like this "one family per day of training" scale isn't the best way to go about it once you go above the basic human level.
>>
>>49647676
>as I highly doubt that the warehouse has any ley lines or similar.
You heavily underestimate people's warehouses.
>>
>>49647628
>Limits... Like, a mountain glade, or a cave, or a lake. or a house. less than one square mile?
If Mountains work then it'll be bigger than one square mile, but basically if it was to be a single landmark of less than 50 Km then I wouldn't even complain about it. A vast swath of land that is basically my oversoul/Reality Marble is just all kind of awesome.

>>49647676

Pretty sure Red's Garden might work though, would it?
>>
>>49647700
>murder

Anon, no. You're doing it wrong. You don't need to be evil, you need to be a dick.

Don't kill a million people, turn all the chocolate into brocoli. Don't make an infectious disease, make one that makes noses look like penises.
>>
>>49647700
>Just feels like this "one family per day of training" scale isn't the best way to go about it once you go above the basic human level.

Well if we're doing that form of projection even at the basic human level it's pretty effective. Anybody fighting in a pitched war will have a good share of kills, and conventions protecting civilians isn't necessarily a given, so civilians are basically free kills. Increase the efficiency of killing by using more effective armaments and suddenly your kill counts jump up.

With a perk that's literally called When You're Evil, I don't think morality is even to be considered here.

Not that guy, but how about, instead of replacing training for anything, you make the perk let you learn evil or intended for evil stuff or trained evily stuff way faster? Like, if you're practising your sword fighting by slicing up some innocent village, you learn as well as if you were being taught by a fencing grandmaster or something. If you're developing a spell to spread an awful disease, you develop it in half or less the usual time. Learning how to summon demons or casting inherently evil spells coming quicker too.

Basically I mean that you swap it out so instead of having this "Commit evil in place of training" it makes anything you'relearning that's evil, intended to do evil or are training in an evil way be learned a few times faster then normal. Still (I think?) pretty strong and fitting the theme. I dunno, any good?
>>
>>49647826
Too limiting and weak.
>>
>>49647767
Well if we're considering strictly from this jump it would seem that the magicians are pretty ridiculous. If they're playing around with multiverses, blowing up a couple wouldn't hurt. Or maybe go for something that afflicts people long term, like substance addiction or mental conditions that slowly destroy them. Like turning 90% of Earth into NTR fanatics.

Yeah once morality is a nonfactor it really becomes a simple optimization problem.

All he actually did was interfere with a summoning ritual, so a combining robot returning to its home planet accidentally got tagged as a hero and summoned to a fantasy world.

And it's important to note, he had no real idea what he was doing at the time, but managed to figure it out well enough that he was eventually able to get the rest of the combining robots sent to the same world.

This same mage was capable of creating legendary magical swords in a few days, constructing endgame dungeons in roughly the same time, and generally doing anything you'd expect the final boss of a fantasy light novel to be able to do.

This is level 8, of 10.
>>
>>49647903
Definitely some multiversal stuff. The manga makes a point about how the robots are from the same universe but a different planet as Detective, but one got summoned to a different universe where their inbuilt communications systems put them out of contact with each other.
>>
>>49647919
>>49647922
Well that's that I guess. If the source material deals with multiverses, then so be it. This won't be the first time we've come across settings at relatively high power.
>>
>>49647919
>>49647922
So he basically just used countermagic, like any DnD wizard can do? I think you guys are getting lost in the multiversal background of this story and forgetting that just interrupting a spell that travels between universes doesn't mean you can blow up or create multiverses.

Doesn't seem any more impressive then stopping someone using Greater Teleport desu.
>>
>>49647945
Although it would be wrong, I think, to speak of 'destroying' or changing universes themselves. It seems to be much easier to edit stuff happening in between universes than it is to edit, say, the physics of an entire universe at once.
>>
So how does one enter a prestige class if one buys The Book of Prestigious Possibilities? Do I just will myself into being it? Like, say I wanted to become a Shadowdancer. The prerequisites are as follows:

>Skills: Move Silently 8 ranks , Hide 10 ranks , Perform (dance) 5 ranks
>Feats: Combat Reflexes , Dodge , Mobility

Assuming I qualified, would I just open up the book one day and say "hey, I wanna be a shadowdancer"

...and suddenly I am?
>>
>>49647919
Oh, okay. That's impressive, but it's not quite as bullshit as just fucking up the multiverse or even a universe. Still impressive, though.
>>

>>
>>49647487
Fuck off. You gave criticism, that doesn't mean it is actually good criticism. You continuing to nag the jumpmaker after he doesn't respond to you and insulting people like a tourette addled child With A Fetish For Capitalizing Random Words isn't doing you any favors shitposter.
>>
>>49647945
Well, I'm just some anon and maybe you're all already thinking of it like this and I misunderstood, but I think it's multiversal in scope rather than magnitude. So a Level 10 could fuck around in multiple universes at the same time and do whatever with the proper preparation, but it's not like he could actually destroy an entire reality.
>>
>>49647959
The original question had nothing to do with blowing up or creating multiverses though, that point was raised up in determining the most efficient way to farm the Training perk.

The original question was simply what a level 10 could do, and the example for the level 8 involved the multiverse example.

Seriously, does no one evne think that you don't need to be even close to multiversal level to travel between universes or stop someone doing so? Plenty of the heroes in comics like Marvel and DC travel between universes, often with inventions of their own making, and we don't consider most of them universe editors or anything.

Come on guys, have some common sense here.
>>
>>49647964
If it's a real place, you just need to know how things work.
>>
>>49647985
I know? I'm countering the multiverse example by explaining it isn't anywhere near as impressive as people are making it out to be thus Level 10 isn't going to be either.
>>
>>49647982
>So a Level 10 could fuck around in multiple universes at the same time and do whatever with the proper preparation, but it's not like he could actually destroy an entire reality.

There. If this is the answer as to what a level 10 can do, then the ACTUAL original question is settled.
>>
>>49647982
It seems to be a scope thing. We see a level 10 in the form of Wanderer (traveler?) And he doesn't really give off the idea of "Blowing up universes". He just fucks around, visiting one, learning magic/eating food/doing whatever, then moves onto the next. That being said, godslayers are considered Level 10s, and gods are... well we see one example, but he's actively throwing his fight and we don't see that fight, so... no help there.
>>
>>49647987
Sleep tight newfriend

Just a question for when you wake up, exactly what is "the true form of justice" anyway?
>>
>>49648013
Although I might be misremembering. Lemme try and find that chapter.
>>
>>49648013
Erm at this point I don't think anyone hee even knows what a god is capable is setting. Even seeing one jobbing would help get a better idea.

At this point im getting the impression that even without multiverse busting, this setting firmly runs on 2e style caster supremacy.
>>
>>49648029
Yup, misremembering! Wayfarer is just noted to be a "minimum of level 8" for being a dimensional traveler.
>>
>>49647988
The original anon >>49647282 implied it was much more then simply travel.
>>
>>49648000
>I'm countering the multiverse example by explaining it isn't anywhere near as impressive as people are making it out to be thus Level 10 isn't going to be either.

The jump notes mention that Level 10s are Gods/Demon Lord Killers, which is the only point of reference that I can identify for this number. Based on your statement, and I'm assuming that you're a subject matter expert, it would seem that you're saying the levels are linear in terms of growth/power. If that's the case then I'm not sure what this says in turn about Gods/Demon Lords.

On the other hand, the jump also then says in the backgrounds that roles are limited in terms of maximum ability they can demonstrate, and based on what those limits are, I don't know if that means Level 10 can only perform those feats, or if it means you're permanently capped at a lower level without something like Soft Cap.

Demon lords range wildly in power, so they're a bad example. The god, on the other has, the following information about him, explained in chapter 15 of the manga, in case anyone feels like checking it out.
*Created the world with his brother
*Screwed up, created demons.
*Created(?) a demon world to lock them in, Demon World is /significantly/ bigger than human world.
*Took 3 years to kill while using absolutely no regeneration abilities and actively throwing the fight.
*Killing him puts you at level 10 automatically if he weren't throwing the fight.
*Gods can hand out immortality (infinitely long life type) pretty much casually, but you can just use magic to give it to yourself as well.
>>
>>49648057
And when asked for proof he pointed to stopping a summoning ritual? Like I pointed out, a DnD wizard can stop someone summoning a monster from another plane too, it doesn't mean that wizard can now warp the entire plane to his will and destroy it as he pleases. It just means that the wizard, like the level 8, can stop someone performing a summoning spell.

Maybe he just put way too much emphasis on the cross universe part of it. Other anons described it as not being multiversal in scale, just in scope, which sounds much more likely given the stuff we've been told of lower levels.

>>49648058
Don't really understand your post. I'm just saying that level 8 is probably not busting multiverses if the only feat to prove that is stopping a summoning spell that happens to work between universes. I then said that, if 8 isn't busting multiverses and is actually far far lower, then 10 is also unlikely to be busting multiverses. I mean, unless there's a truly prodigal leap in power between 8 and 10.
>>
>>49648094
Can't exactly expect a person to write a novel every time, eh.

Also Persona if no one's given another suggestion already.
>>
>>49647867
Wireless Interface
With a short ritual, you attune yourself to a magical item to benefit and draw from its power at a distance. Armor and protective talismans no longer need be worn to shield you, and the connection between you allows for activation and control without the need for command words and the like. This also grants you telekinetic abilities, using the flow of magic as a lever to move attuned items or yourself through the air. Too many connections will cause interference with each other, producing odd side-effects.

It's easy to say that it doesn't work cause of various reasons, now that I look back on it it is explicit in the whole magic thing so there's that. I am derp sometimes.
>>
>>49648110
So...maybe planetbusting at the very highest tiers? I mean, that's assuming this god created the world in one go rather then piece by piece. Supernatural's God did that with the universe for example, so I guess it's an easy trick to fall into.
>>
>>49648057
Original anon was partly why people had no clue what these numbers meant in the first place, since "accessing and altering the process space of the multiverse" is ridiculous vague. If he wanted to focus on "interfering in a summoning ritual" anon didn't need to explicitly use that sort of language.

So far in the quest to understand what a level 10 is actually capable of, we have about 9 sentences or so in the jump that can be used, a whole bunch of statements regarding Gods and Gods jobbing, and people saying that most people in setting job anyways. Then we have people trying to use examples from other settings to determine what the maximum in this setting should be.

If the background descriptions are anything to go by, I don't think the jumper can reach Level 10. Nothing in those inspire any sense that they can kill a God, unless the Gods are wonderfully weak.

The description for Magician states this: "At the highest levels of ability you can
perform feats like altering the environment, controlling the weather, and manipulating space-time to remotely warp people between planes. You're stronger than Warriors but also more vulnerable."

So they're above warriors as far as "strength" goes. The Magician is therefore a somewhat suitable scale as far as determining what a L10 does. But...our example of a L8 is a Warrior?

Based on the description, no relation.

Also, who wants super hitchhiking powers, and/or a patches type companion?
>>
>>49648115
My post was to point out that your perception of this level power scale was linear, such that 8 > 9 > 10 had equal gaps in between them. But nothing that I've seen so far really defends or rejects that notion. So as far as drawing a conclusion goes, there isn't sufficient proof to conclude anything out of a single feat.

The objective remains unchanged: What is the level 10 capable of. We now have further information in >>49648110 as far as what Gods are capable of, and we are told that level 10s can kill Gods. We can plausibly draw some sort of conclusion from this, but again, it's a shaky one. Just because a L10 can kill a being that can instigate genesis, doesn't necessarily mean anything else besides the fact that a L10 can kill an immortal.

If we accept that premise, again, we don't know what a L10 is really capable of.
>>
>>49648189
Would you be willing to consider a "super mundanity" perk that lets you use your ridiculous powers to accomplish mundane tasks in absurd ways? As a more general version of "super-hitchhiking."
>>
>>49648189
I'd love that shit. I also love the fact that the only time the truck guy was late was when his truck broke down.
>>
>>49648189
Who doesn't want Oversoul: Big Thumb? I remember that in the GBA games, that's what they made Tokagero's effect. All the rest of the spirits on the team got something impressive for when you activated their OS. Amidamaru was your main attacking OS, Kororo had an ice punch that was good for both freezing enemies and getting past obstacles, Mic the Jaguar gave you dashes, and Bason had a bunch of cool attacks. Tokagero just turned into a huge thumb that you'd use to push boxes with. The only one less impressive was Eliza, who just let you survive in poison areas. She wasn't even an active spirit like the others, she was a passive slot.
>>
>>49648207
Erm, no, I didn't meant to say it was linear and I don't think I've given any indication of that either? All I've said is that I don't think Level 10 would be at a certain level of power without a absolutely massive jump in power from everything else shown so far.
>>
>>49648207
>>49648146
To be fairthe gods also range from super awesome to pretty much just dorks who can make people immortal. You can kill gods in a lot of settings anyway so thats not a good tell for power, the most impressive thing I think we have seen anyone do was planeshift someone and send supplies to another dimension with magic.

Oh and the demon kings son who was with a hero uses something like a massive fireball spell to whipe out demons.
>>
AHA! Continuing here >>49648110, When Sage causes his summoning screwup, he notes, "I was taking a look at the flow of spacetime, and while I was looking, I accidentally bent it, thus causing someone to be summoned who shouldn't have been." Which is still not /too/ informative, but hey, more info. Also, Sage is a level 8, just a quick reminder. So his messing with the summon was a side effect of him accidentally bending spacetime.
>>
Maybe we should wait for the jump maker to come back and make some rulings? I mean, we're not really going to get anything done unless someone starts posting some evidence we can all use, but so far all the evidence has been really vague or only kinda related. Even that list of what the God could do, someone pointed out that something making something doesn't necessarily mean they do it instantly.
>>
>>49648273
... Well, not /there/, I suppose, but hey. Continuing my thread of grabbing info from the manga. Anyway, chapter was 24 for this bit, in case someone would like to check me.
>>
>>49648057
What does it even matter at this point? Are people in this thread really retarded enough that they believe that destroying the multiverse through a few decades of training magic is somehow more OP than a few months or years of prep time at best with intelligence perks? What is even the point of blocking that kind of shenanigans off through post-spark or endjump material at that point.
>>
>>49648273
Maybe that's just how the spell works? Just because it manipulates space time doesn't necessarily make it impressive. There'sa whole range of Space Time techniques in Naruto, most of which are just teleporting yourself or something else around.
>>
>>49647985
>>49648007
>>49648013
Wasn't there a level 10 god that to defeat a hero and his group had to fight him for 3 years non stop? And the level 10 didn't use regenerative abilities.
>>
>>49648306
Because people are trying to ignore CCDT's broken power grab for now because it does nothing but cause arguments for everyone else. Until he comes and talks about it, that's all we can do.
>>
>>49648309
>>49648273

>>49648219
Awesome made mundane it is!

>>49648259
*dies of laughter*
>>
>>49648309
He's not using a teleportation spell or the like though, he's literally just looking at the fabric of spacetime because he's wondering why the hell so many earthlings keep getting summoned. And then "whoops, I bent the universe." And it's also implied that he's doing this mostly on a whim, but apparently the LN has info where he actually meets some other dudes who asked him to.
>>
>>49648306
>Are people in this thread really retarded enough that they believe that destroying the multiverse through a few decades of training magic

You didn't read the jump, and now you're applying hyperbole, while not even beginning to address the anon's original question. It specifically states a L8 took 200 years at least, and a L10 likely takes lifetimes to millenia. Time wasn't ever the issue. People just presumably wanted to know what the actual ceiling was, if there was one.
>>
>>49648306
>Are people in this thread really retarded enough that they believe that destroying the multiverse through a few decades of training magic is somehow more OP than a few months or years of prep time at best with intelligence perks?

Yes, they are. Regardless of the power of this setting's mystics, people in this thread have always put a higher price on personal power than intelligence. It's why it's somehow "OP" to be able to toss battleships with physical strength, but not OP to build planet-busting doomsday devices.
>>
>>49648333
So he's using some variation of Mage Sight then. Still not seeing how this is a very impressive feat or proves any sort of power level. Someone earlier brought up scale and scope and scopeis the most important thing to keep in mind here. Just because this guy can look at and alter space time (Only very slightly given the effects just changed who got summoned in one spell) does not mean he can alter it however he wants. A mage who can summon a fireball is not necessarily able to create supernovas just cause he can manipulate fire.
>>
>>49648286
I don't really mind either way since it's already autosage, and if it wasn't discussion about this, it'd end up being something else. At least we're starting to gather more pieces of info from things various people remember.

>>49648269
>All I've said is that I don't think Level 10 would be at a certain level of power without a absolutely massive jump in power from everything else shown so far.
This is the part of your logic that isn't sound. You've essentially said "L8's are power level Y. I believe L10s should be Y + Z, but not beyond that because then it would be too large" but there's no justification behind that statement.
>>
>>49648354
Yes, or OP to block planet-busters with centuries of magical training, but not to build them with decades or less.
>>
>>49648356
On the other hand, that means his frekkin mage sight is fucking up a multidimensional summoning spell, which is really impressive on its own. And he only mentions the summoning, then goes on to note that he's frantically fixing everything, so we're not actually sure what else he broke.

That being said, I do agree he's probably not a universe buster, I'm just noting that with the sources I have access to, I can't actually say if he is or isn't.
>>
>>49648354
How did a question of "What can L10s do" turn into "Is this OP?" Like how did a simple investigation into what the people of this setting are capable suddenly railroad to a comparison of multiverse destruction and perk stacking.

Are there any feats for characters /lower/ than Level 8? How do they scale comparatively? If they exist, can we not extrapolate?

Well, this place was certainly fun, and it's nice to get some melee skills and a "angel" summoning spell. It took a while to realize that the dungeon was screwing me over in particular, but when I did, I started training a lot harder, and I think it worked out for me, outside of being almost bisected by a Chimera. Which was less than pleasant, let me tell you, but at the very least I didn't die, which I've come to take as a Gold Standard of Excellence for my adventures. Can I just bring up /again/ how this is not a super impressive feat? Almost any summoning spell from DnD fits 'multidimensional summoning spell'.
>>
>>49648397
We'd only be able to extrapolate if the actual elements could be compared though anon. The problem is we have people going "Well this is XX/YY" but comparing XX and YY against one another is like comparing apples and oranges. That's the inherent problem behind this. Everybody is apparently fixated on multiverse destruction, but that, along with the feats demonstrated so far, don't actually help us extrapolate what a L10 can do.

So far the only thing we do know that a L10 can do is kill immortals. That's the only thing we can conclude, L10s are great at killing immortals.

But that doesn't tell me anything else besides that. The L8 feat that was brought up so far wasn't even in the same "category". One is about killing things, and the other is spell interruption. What equation do we want to use to weigh those two together? If the L4 feat is for example, cleans a 2500 acre house in 40 seconds with febreeze, then where does that fall on the scale?
>>
>>
>>49648437

And he fucked it up by looking at it too hard. That's at least one feat we have as for reference. You're able to fuck up teleportation/summoning by looking at it too hard. No, you're not countering it actively or anything, you can just glare a summoning into not working with a scrying spell. I mean it's not as impressive as multiverse busting clearly, but it's still actually pretty darn impressive on his part.
>>
>>49648437

>>
>>49648460
I don't know what impressiveness has to do with this at all. Is Impressiveness the new scale that we measure everything by? Or is anon trying to say that this setting gives levels out based on how impressive things are?

More shaman king perks.

300 cp - Awesome Made Mundane
There once was a technique, created by the shaman known as ‘wooden sword Ryu’. This technique was a giant thumb OS. He used it to hitchhike. Similarly, you will find yourself using your various powers to do utterly mundane things. From using giant hands to carry things, to using your ice natured spirit as AC, to even using a giant sword OS to cut bread, there seems to be no limit to your degrading your superpowers. Pickle jar opener OS when?

Shaman lineage
600 cp - The Accent Out Of Hell
Like Hao, you have managed to do something nearly impossible. You have died, and fought your way out of hell. Or rather, you posses the potential to do so. Once per jump, when you die, you will find yourself facing of against a rather large number of Oni and other demons, and probably some form of emotional trial. This will take a very long time, but theres a time compression aspect as well. The hundred years or so it will take you the first time will barely equal a day. Should you succeed, you will wake back up wherever you were when you died, fully healed and with a slight increase in Furyoku.
>>
>>49648460
Or he did something in addition to looking. Maybe the magic he was using to look at it bled over and disrupted it or maybe he reached out and knocked something important over.

Here, once again, is the problem with every argument so far. We ALL know almost nothing. Until someone gives us a whole bunch of feats so we know what each level can do, we might as well be chasing our tails. So we might as well just wait for the one guy who can rule on this to come back.
>>
>>49648455
I'd say mortal hero forms perfects aren't full powered any way you slice it.
The unique flaw of invulnerability takes care of that situation handily.
Which is a good thing really given how the flavor is set up.
Taking some damage instead of being paste is always preferrable.

I mean there's always fae perfects, but those are wyld only I think.

Dude I replied to went, "This is not an impressive feat." Thus I replied, "No, but countering it by staring at it is."

Exalted was never actually nerfed. Just given a clause that powerful conceptual/magically effects could possibly push past Perfection. 'Possibly' including shit like Ragna Blade and other multiversal shenanigans, by Wukong's rulings.

>>

>>
>>49648490
Well, they're full powered as in Gauntlet was asked and said yes they were.

And seriously, the flaws rarely come up even in game and that's without gaming them. And you have many ways to do so in game, much less in jumpchain.
>>
>>49648519
Not really. These usually pop up everytime a new jump is made, especially when a new jumpmaker makes it.
>>
>>49648532
There weren't any complaints that I could see from this though, except the perks criticism. Even this long ass discussion is just a bunch of people going back and forth while likely knowing that nobody involved has the answer. It's not even related to the jump so much as it's related to the actual IP.
>>
>>49648518
If they can get past it, then it's not Perfect is it? Logically if anything can get past it, then it is nerfed from canon because in canon nothing, not even something that automatically succeeds at anything it's doing, can get past it.

Uuuuuuunless you look at Dreams of the First Age and laugh at all the faggots who think Perfect defenses mean anything when there's a charm that lets you pierce perfect defenses.
>>
>>49648518
My mistake then. Guess I should have been paying more attention, but it was really hard to care when the argument was so circular.

>>49648528
I was talking about how the mortal hero forms flaw actually is a problem. You take unsoakable damage equal to how much above your weight class your opponent is.
A little different then the norm
>>
You know, everyone is confused about power level, but I'm confused about a few other things. Like, the origins mentioned summoning heroes. What, do heroes get summoned to other worlds after they've beaten their Demon Lord? But why didn't that world have a hero? More over, wouldn't that leave the hero's world vulnerable to another Demon Lord? Also, according to the intro there's sci-fi stuff as well, so why are the origins based only on fantasy stuff? Can we choose to be in the sci-fi settings?
>>
>>49648510
To be honest, from a normal perspective, pretty much everything described there is fucking impressive. People here are just so used to their high ass power levels going in that everything is "Oh this other IP already has it/better".

Going into this place as a jump one, I fail to see how anything isn't impressive. It'd just be isekai all over again.
>>
>>49648564

How did you not get at how broken that bullshit is?

Okay, so! Here's what's going on.

Basically, you know those LN's involving an everyman from Earth getting summoned to some fantasy world in order to defend it from some great evil or whatever? It's kinda based on all those. After the heroes have completed their quests, they tend to want to go home, or help others in the same situation by letting them know they're not alone. That's what the Union's for, getting them home, letting them have experienced former heroes to talk with and ask advice from, or to revoke a summoning if the group using it is evil about it. Other heroes in general are also on the board, and it's basically 4chan. You get on and chat with other people who share your interests, only instead of "share your interests" it's "are a hero."
>>
Well this is badass.
>>
>>49648565
Well if we're going to add to the questions for jumpmaker to answer later, I'm still completely lost as to what role the Demon Lords are even supposed to have if they were...made...then scrapped, and literally everybody described so far appears to be a jobber.

Like is jobbing a culture in this place to the point that everyone does it? What is the actual multiverse like? Are there horror verses, or other generic verses? How many gods really are there if there's such a massive range? Can an item really elevate a person's level just by having it, in which case, does level really reflect anything if you can just make a high level item and equip it?
>>
>>49648586
Oh I get it. I was just explaining what I was talking about earlier when I said it wasn't perfect.
I'm fully aware of cheese, but for some reason I thought you were just talking about that one martial arts form.
Although if your power stealing why do it to companions?
There are about 697 more non dragonblood exalts out there you could be taking from. add 700 if you don't connect the jumps.
>>
>>49648591
Huh. That's actually pretty cool. I presume that's what Drop-In is based on? Then the Hero origins are native heroes who are trying to help the new guys out, and the Demon Lord origin is one very confused evil overlord who suddenly finds him/herself in another world without his/her minions and empire, or something like that given that it mentions being summoned as a Hero?
>>
>>49648605
Eh, big problem is that you can't take much out of the gauntlet (Anything you own basically) and can't exalt in it. I suppose you could say, do that combo someone made where you get multiple souls and use Lytek's tools to exalt each of them, but just have a companion hold the souls/have the perk in the first place. That way you can basically use them as a carrier for the exaltations (Surely someone owns their own soul) till you get out and can grab the ones you want and exalt in some other jump.
>>
>>49648611
Drop in is probably based on that, yes. The etting has 2 "types" of heroes. Born heroes, who are people born into the universe normally, think the LoTR cast, and "Summoned Heroes" who, well, get summoned. Retired Heroes are the ones who've finished their quests (doesn't matter what type they originally were) and now hang around on 4chan giving advice to newbs. Demon Lord is presumably based on the time a demon lord accidentally got summoned as a hero, then proceeded to be awesome.

So, upgrading the S.S. Swordfish is the work of a few moments but with that done I and my companions are off to have some fun. Also more Mad Scientist stuff is always something I'm okay with. Also my mind has been mildly shifted but I just don't work and avoid most of the problems by speaking very plainly and avoiding the fuck out of people whilst building up some stuff.
Plans that I'm going to be working on in the Basement of the Warehouse behind a ton of defenses include;
1. Medabot Mass Production Plant
2. Using the Transmorgrigier to make the Eye Tree produce my eyes DNA, that may take a while.

>>49648490
You're speaking of the Perfects provided by the Mortal Hero Style, yes? Is so then yeah basically.

>>49648528
Perfects have limits, in most cases it's sheer Mote Drain, the various Flaws, and various other little gotchas like Willpower. So, I never felt the need to limit them any more.

>>49648564
Ah cool yeah. Also the only other set of Perfects I can think of that you can find in the Mortal Hero Gauntlet is the Divine (Martial Arts) Subjugation, which is a huge Mote sink that, at best I've come up with without just saying fuck it and laying on the cheese and even then the cheese is sorta thick in places, can be used a maximum of seven times.

>>49648483
This...
>>
>>49648618
Oh, important part, you should leave the companions in the previous exalted jump. Better yet, just make clones of them so you keep the originals. That way you get a whole stack of full powered allies with all the stuff you'll need without needing to import them.
>>
>>49648618
I was thinking of using return, but that works too.
Actually are you allowed to use return for gauntlets?
Now that I think about it I'm not sure.
>>
>>49648629
I don't think so and even then I assume all the rules still apply. With what is to be gained and how pissed I'd be if I missed out, I've generally tried to go for the more reliable option. Maybe returns might work but they might not and I'd rather the non risky option.

Seriously, imagine how annoying it'd be to leave the jump, expecting to use a Return to get all those goodies, and find out you've been fucked over?
>>
>>49648602
Demon Lords are usually the big bad that the hero has to defeat. The hero can be born, chosen or summoned. Jobbing is something that the extremely powerful characters do because they don't really care about the demon lord vs hero thing anymore due to the most powerful characters usually being immortals. No idea how large the multiverse is but its definitely a large one. Each god shown is restricted to its own reality. With the multiverse its basically every version of chosen hero vs big bad stories. So kamen rider/power rangers, magical girls, generic magical world chosen ones and etc. Levels are basically a measure of threat level, if someone gets a sword that cuts through everything for example then they'd get a higher level as they'd be more dangerous.
>>
>>49648625
The only other perfects I can think of someone being able to get just from their own ability in mortal heroes are the Raksha ones, but those require level 5 graces and unless I'm reading things wrong don't do much of anything in creation.
>>
>>49648623
Ah, I see. That explains the origins I suppose...now that I think about it, the setting just seems to be incredibly comfy. The only real threat seems to be the Demon Lords, and if you can beat them it's just a matter of hanging with your fellow heroes and the new guys and shitposting on multiversial 4chan. For a Jumper, that'd be a pretty interesting experience, especially since it sticks around post-jump.
>>
>>49647987
In the notes:
>For the purposes of Jumpchain, however, the jumper cannot access other jumps or realities that are based on fictional media.
Do you mean during the jump or during the chain?
>If a setting already has an established multiverse then you can travel freely between any of the existing universes with the magic from this setting but you are limited to their in-universe rules.
Or are you meaning that the magic is limited to in-multiverse (in-jump) travel but not cross-multiverse (omniversal) travel and we need our Jumpchain Spark for the latter?

Yeah, basically.

Maybe just cap how much evil training you can get per day? So if I burn a family in the morning then I get the equivalent of a day's training for it, but if I then kick a puppy that same afternoon, there's no benefit.
>>
>>49648420
Autism.
>>
>>49648681
The discussion about morality does bring up a point. If the actions taken had to be increasing evil, or permanently warped your mindset to lean towards worse choices, how many people would really take it and consider it an anchor in their character?

So instead of burning a family in the morning and getting a day then the dog kick but nothing, you'd have to burn the family, then burn even more families, in larger and larger amounts until eventually you have to burn worlds' worth of population to accrue gains. I mean you could replace burning and murder with all sorts of morally dubious activities, but you get my point.
>>
>>49648489
Knowing sage whatever spell he was using to "look" probably also had touchy feelers. I mean he is known for bad decisions and getting carried away. "Looking" may very well involve more than just staring at it.
>>
>>49648483
>Similarly, you will find yourself using your various powers to do utterly mundane things.
>you will find yourself using
Er... that reads more like a drawback? I'd suggest "you will find yourself easily able to use" instead. In which case, unless your jump is a total CP vampire king, consider this perk on my buy list.
>>
>>49648644
Hey gaunlet I'm reading through the mortal hero style pdf and I noticed something weird.
The last charm says you take unsoakable bashing damage equal to the essence cliff, but what happens if it's negative?
Do you just heal by being so much better or does nothing happen? I mean it's unlikely you'd be able to use the charm in such a situation, but it's still potentially possible.

I believe that it's at a minimum of zero, as stated in other effects. No negative unsoakable bashing damage effects that I know of. Once it zeros out no extra effect. That's just how I'd rule it.
Though I guess if you were going max cheese then you'd only heal bashing damage since it would be negative Unsoakable Bashing Damage.

THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH A PLUMBUS?

> Month 2.
Neet found me by killing herself and respawning next to me so now we're sharing a cell.
She won't stop singing.

> Month 4.
I am still here.

> Month 6.
So the church found me and blew a hole in the wall and also the jail and some of the earth attempting to murder me. The plumbus was destroyed in the attack. So I...
fuck it.

You know what, whatever. I'll take it.
So, it's funny how I have all these memories of saving this world from a demon king, and then I wound up in jail and now this is happening.
So, I guess I'm taking over the world now.
I guess I'm the new demon king.

You can also parry omniverse busters with You... Blocked? from 8-bit Theater alone.
>>
>>49648823
Try and ignore the second half of the pdf, thats where the remnants of the original are.
>>
>>49648930
The difference is you have to be able to put your sword in the way which is kind of hard for AOE. I mean if an omniversal explosion is going off and your reaction time is lightning fast you might be able to save yourself. But everyone else is going to have a really bad day.
The combo just needs a swan dive in the general direction so it's easier. It also somehow saves everyone else that would have died even if they're nowhere near you.

I suppose if you blocked it point blank you could do the same thing though. However that's supposed to work.
>>
>>49648996
This. 8-Bit Theater makes it clear that whatever the powerlevel of that ability actually is, you absolutely NEED to have a sword to use it. Black Mage casually got around it by just convincing Fighter to turn his back, and IIRC Sarda could trounce the party as a whole just by using magic that doesn't travel in a linear path to take effect and thus can't be physically blocked.
>>
>>49648968
If you have a perk that lets you freely travel into the afterlife and you're a spirit here does that mean you can commit suicide?
>>
>>49649159
>magic that doesn't travel in a linear path to take effect and thus can't be physically blocked.
...what.
>>
>>49649204
It's been a while, but-suffice to say that final battle got really weird. At one point Black Mage tried to copy one of the BBEG's spells. Using it just hurt him instead of the BBEG. Who also rewrote his text box to change what he said against his will.
>>
>>49649211
So what, the magic went through time and attacked the character's pasts?
>>
>>49649216
Ah, found it. Both examples, actually.

I think he's talking about spells that just take effect, like Power Word Kill, though Fight might be able to Block the sound of a PWK if he understood what it was.

>>49649211
>At one point Black Mage tried to copy one of the BBEG's spells. Using it just hurt him instead of the BBEG.
I think that was a case of Very Specific Spell Casting. The spell was to rupture the organs of the Black Mage. Black Mage though it was a Targeted thing but it was literally just that.

>>49649216
The magic at that point was moving through the Meta. Also Pic Related.

>>49649247
Ah, I thought you meant the above and this as well.

>>49649292
I don't think Naruto ever got to the point where the meta was litterally being used as a ninjutsu, but I may have missed something.
>>
>>49649306
It makes one wonder why he doesn't just rewrite reality completely instead of doing relatively tiny changes as far as cosmic scale is concerned.
>>
>>49649345
Yeah, 8-Bit was comedy and it stuck to that even at the high end where they should have been doing just as you said. Sarda could have done it, but he was too... emotional about his victory. Too caught up in it all to really do anything but play with the group.

Was this before or after Fighter cut a hole in dimensional space just because no one ever told him he couldn't?
>>
So from what I gather, the Dawn Machine in Fallen London was built with Victorian era technology out of a years' worth of work.

What happens if you try to build one with something more advanced, like a Song Tower or a GUNNM nanites or basically anything from Blame!?
>>
>>49649274
Gas station?
>>
>>49650279
ok, makes sense.
>>
>>49650279
so... "do an autostop" = "find a gas station"?
>>
>>49649661
Do you got the plans for that from your future self now, eh?

Kidding aside, I don't think it was made from just Victorian era tech, they did leech off almost the entire British Naval budget to do so and Hell's upriver, so mundane materials, no matter how super tech, might not do the job. Presumably you'd see a boost to power and the brainwashing effect.

Also, I've been reading up on Solar Exalts. Eclipse caste seem the weakest, but with Jumpers above recommending it how useful are super diplomat messengers? Twilights seem more utility to me.
>>
>>49650393
I need to fiddle with the locations.

Any comments about the perk trees themselves?
>>
>>49650636
Eclipse can learn charms of any other exalted type, any spirits (Save certain unique ones like Incarnae), ghost charms and even Primordial charms. If you don't pick Eclipse or it's equivalent in other exalted types, you are limited to only the charms you get from that type. Non eclipse solars can only learn solar charms. All the other castes generally don't get anything impressive in jumpchain terms. One gets an intimidation aura, one can burn corpses, one can mitigate damage by spending energy (Considering it's motes, it's super inefficient). All stuff that can be easily replicated in other jumps whilst Eclipse is the only one that lets you learn charms from other splats. Especially useful whilst those don't have their own jumps but even then it means you don't need to wait several decades to get through all of them or you can take a break in between and still learn other type charms. The oath stuff is just the cherry on top.
>>
>>49650667
Crashing to bed sorry, will look at them again in the morning.
>>
>>49650636
>Hell's upriver

Really? Must've missed reference to that.

Anyway, yeah-Eclipse abilities are the least fight-y. To compensate, they can learn basically ANY Charm as their anima power at higher cost. The super diplomat messenger STATUS is less useful out of jump since it's specifically recognised by political parties in the context of Exalted.

If you're talking about how good Eclipses are AS diplomats/messengers, let's just say a Solar managed to make a Primordial retreat from battle with a letter so badly written it traumatised her. That uses Linguistics, one of the types of Charms which Eclipses specialise in. That's how good they are at writing things down.

Bureaucracy is mostly boring but practical; most of is just winning so hard at paperwork and organization you can basically win West Wing jump effortlessly. Though some higher end Charms can also do things like collapse organizations they've created through causality manipulation-or other things they've created like artifacts, spells or crushes if they have gud enough other abilities.

Sailing can make ships immune to most environmental effects, perfectly negate damage to your ship or claim metaphysical ownership of ships such that unwelcome passengers find it harder to do basically everything. Ride can make horses ride on air, create horses out of spiritual energy, allow a horse to keep pace with a target no matter their speed, tug any object (limited based on MASS not WEIGHT) and make townspeople grateful to you while pumping yourself up by riding away dramatically like a cowboy after being heroic. They only sound boring on paper.

And Socialise is pretty much brainwashing through debate.

What does Oni do for you post jump? Right now it seems a bit lackluster for a capstone, as far as I can tell it just gives you a body so you can physically do things.

Is it supposed to give you power from negative emotions?
>>
>>49650844
If you choose to be an actual Oni, then you can eat negative emotions and spit them out as minions, though that will weaken you.

If not, then I guess you get your OS as a second body type deal? You can control it independent at the same time as your normal body. Kinda hive mind ish, if that made any sense.
>>
>>49650903
Ok, that makes sense. I was hoping for a get powered up by lust perk, as I collect them, but hive mind powers are always fun too.
