Maybe you should buy fewer charisma perks if you don't want to be treated like Negi Springfield in a doujin.

Or, considering Haruna, like his copies are treated normally. Magical copies with 20+ cm tongues imply implications.

Anomalous Physiology and Agitation Field would be a rather potent fuck you to people trying to kill me, would that be enough to stop the foundation from successfully killing me?

Follow up, how pissed would the foundation be if they had to watch helplessly from the other side of my warehouse portal as I posted their secrets on the internet.

You took the harem perks and now you have to live with them.

They'd start by trying to kill you, but exactly how hard they tried would depend on exactly what secrets you posted.

Really depends on what you take as canon, but you're almost certainly going to get laughed at. The Foundation has fucktons of experience suppressing information from getting out, because there's quite a few things making the rounds that would end the world if knowledge of them became public. By the time you're finished typing out your post you'd be banned for posting CP on every single major forum of the world, even the ones you didn't have accounts for previously.

So close to being done with this. Does anyone have any suggestions for my missing perks/items?

Also, if you're wondering whats with all the *'s, its mostly because I dont want to forget what each perk does, but I also dont feel like actually writing a description for it yet.

How badly would the Asari from Mass Effect react if you suddenly showed up with a more technologically advanced fleet?

I've got it stuck in my head that if they couldn't get that race to join the council the existential fear might drive them to war, or at least convincing the other races that you're up to no good and need to be stopped
>>
>>49572934
Good against mages, bad against anyone who has anti-magic of their own. I imagine many of the cannier wizards would have that just for emergencies. There's a perk in MtA that protects you from anti-magic, though, you should get that.
>>
>>49572934
Dog Talisman is really not that great. It's been shown to be able to be pierced with sufficient firepower. Shendu got a huge hole blown in his chest by a laser canon and had to heal it with the Horse.

So long as you don't immediately start devour worlds: not at all.

It's your story, so tell it how you want, but that just doesn't make any sense to me.
>>
>>49572937
Probably not. Plot armor is usually a fiat perk rather than something granted by an actual power. If you had a probability manipulation perk, though, then you could make a plot-armored mecha.
>>
>>49572968
Dog Talisman does fuck all for Shendu since very little would be considered fatal damage for him. . . and considering the other perks in that combo the same problem would present itself to the jumper.

They'll react the same way any polity would to a larger, more powerful nation appearing: Be polite and friendly, try to establish trading partnerships so they can both tie you to them through economics and potentially gain access to your technology, hope they can convince you to abide by their treaties on arms limitations, and if they think they can get away with it send espionage teams to steal from and undermine you. They're not just going to declare war just because you could possibly be a threat at some point, that's the Turians' thing.

Point is it's not anywhere near as absolute. It's useful for no selling lots of low damage, but it's not going to make you anywhere near unkillable.

Dog Talisman is just flat near invulnerability below its threshold of damage. You still get pain and can be knocked unconscious but aren't truly injured. There's nothing about it only kicking in for mortal wounds.

It looks like some sort of liquid, but there appears to be things sticking out of it? Maybe it's her shed skin? Her tail does seem to be longer then the last time we saw it. Or could it be the scientist's melted remains, and the lab coat is all that's left of her. BAD END.

>>49573012
I don't have to but I'm gonna. What is happening in this picture? Did the scientist get eaten/assimilated?
Grey goo snek-girl?

An explanation of what happens in the combo will follow now:

Gift of the Twilight Imperium (Negima) this is one of if not the premiere anti-magic perks in Jumpchain + Dog Talisman fatal wounds won't kill you lots of energy + Horse Talisman regeneration is awesome + Magic Must Defeat Magic (Jackie Chan Adventures) make the above unaffected by magic + Agitation Field all but my supernatural shit shuts down field, no exceptions + Anomalous Physiology (SCP Foundation) for tanking blows like a boss + (Heavy Machine Gun) needs more dakka but even my gear is effected by Agitation Field however... + Infinite Ammo (Devil May Cry) this is a perk effect and thus part of me + Enchanted Ammo (Darkstalkers) as is this which makes it so I have infinite magic bullets now mundane shit don't stop these bullets cause Magic Must Defeat Magic.

Agitation Field isn't immediate, though. Fast, but not instant. You need a defense in case something can negate your defenses faster than you can negate it.

Gift of the Twilight Imperium can negate most forms of anti-magic, but if that isn't enough I could also add Unmagic (Circle of Magic) or my own Anti-Magic Field (D&D) to just void the anti-magic. We could also lock up in a Counter Spelling duel.

>>
>>49573226
Still can't believe how unbelievably broken it si that Technopathy gets to work over wifi/internet at Beta level. It's not even the Omega level upgrade, you can just basically control any technology in any modern city, town or any sort of population centre.
>>
>>49573210
Symbiote. The titular symbiotes are some sort of bio-nanotech colony designed to run off of specialized "bioprocessors" embedded in their hosts' bone marrow, but they can adapt to any information substrate. Combined with their ability to nanoassemble anything they can comprehend (such as quantum computers), that makes them able to turn themselves into incredibly powerful AI. They can augment their hosts to have the same capabilities, though if you don't think you can convince your symbiote to do so (it wouldn't be hard, though, they can have their own goals but instinctively want to aid the host) there's an origin that makes you the symbiote and your head-companion the human, who suffered brain damage and so you're the one piloting the body until such time as you can heal them. And one of the perks explicitly gives you the designs to the super-powerful quantum computer nodes, though if you hang around long enough you'll get the blueprints for them anyway once symbiote technology gets disseminated throughout the world.

Really does seem like you spend no longer then just what it takes to make the build, yell in all caps a bit but never write what you actually do or how you solve the problems you exclaim about, then move on to the next jump. Isn't that a really empty way of doing this if you pay so little attention to stuff?

Just seems really mechanical and cold to do so little in each jump beyond noting what you can buy with cp.

Well barely anyone pays attention anyway, so...

But if we have to be honest, Soul Eater the main gig really is what >>49573415 said. Go to the MCs, seriously try to convince them, and try to be friends while avoiding the shit out of Death City, because golly any city that has 'Death' in it sounds like a city I want to avoid. Even if the moon is worse, for me that place is just as bad. And seeing as that's often considered 'cowardly' as I'm not trying to rush in and kick the BBEG's teeth in, there's no real point TO explain that.

Worm... we have had entire threads. Entire. Threads. Where people talk about Scion, or what's the best Worm shard, or how to kill the Endbringers, etc. That's old hat. That's been done to death like Fate and SMT and all kinds of things. Yes I'm doing something different like avoiding the bloody plot and staying far away from Endbringers, but do you really want to hear four posts about how I'm a little bitch? Does it sound like fun to hear me talk about how I'm a coward this early in the game?

I imagine it isn't.

There will be plenty of writefagging soon enough, but in places where I'm trying to keep a low profile I imagine the interest in people wanting to hear about that is shit.
>>
>>49573480
It's not defensive, I'm legitimately curious where your writing is at. I want to read it.
>>
>>49573488
Well, the only reason I've even posted is that it's not just these two jumps that are like this. Your whole new chain has been like this and I'm really confused as to why. Even your very first few jumps got basically no depth at all barring once people asked specifically about them.

>>49573505
Haven't done much at all I'm afraid. None of my chains seem to last past 4 or 5 jumps before i get frustrated for some reason or another.
>>
>>49573418
You seem to be confronting a lot of mid to late chain enemies early on. Dracula at the height of his power? Asura? The Endbringers? What's next, are you going to land in one of the SMT worlds? ...oh, that would be terrible. Imagine having to confront the forces of Law and Chaos, the Bels, or Polaris before you even reach the 50th jump. Those would be chain enders, because you HAVE to confront the big players in all three jumps in order to survive.
>>
>>49573515
I'm still interested. Post a link or perhaps just a snippet of your writing. I'm intensely curiously about your writing now.
>>
>>49573534
Not sure you understood me. When I said I haven't done much at all and that my chains don't last, I mean I delete my chains most of the time before they get to jump 6. Since I write the stories in the same word document (Yes I know I'm basic at this) they go too...

I'd be fine showing you if I had any and I guess I could try to start a new chain and do some now. Don't really have any ideas for one that I haven't done a lot already, you have any suggestions?
>>
>>49573519
>What's next, are you going to land in one of the SMT worlds?
...please no. I really do not want to see myself die to that kind of torment. If I confronted the SMT worlds that early I think I would have to very specifically avoid the higher drawbacks out of fear of being mega-death'd. ...the sad thing is you're actually close to what would happen. Jump 50 is when things start tumbling down and demonhood is put upon Red with a very sick twist. Anyone who's paid attention to something other than the screaming should actually start seeing the pattern outside of the occasional vacation.

>>49573515
Again, I don't think anyone wants to hear about how I just run away all the time, that gets just as boring. I'm not going to write out massive novels for each jump, and I'm mainly posting these builds just because I know there's some people who wished they could see more builds. But verbose variations of "and then I ran like a bitch" is just as bad as trying to wank that I somehow beat the BBEG single-handedly. Hell, even Castlevania there's a high chance the plan was "grind and have the Belmonts take the brunt". So if you want me to be verbose about running away and posting the same story a bunch, I guess I could try?
>>
>>49573565
You can say that but isn't pretty much all the blurbs you write just some variation of 'I'M SO SCREWED', 'FUCK' or something else related to how dead you are? Seems a bit weird that you constantly say that sort of stuff when you plan to lay low and run away anyway?

Not like I'm asking for a novel per jump, just a little more then the usual empty exclamations. Do you do anything interesting in each jump at all? Meet anyone interesting? Make anything interesting? The impression I get so far is that you just sit in a hole somewhere shivering in fear, which seems a bit silly with all the worlds you now have to explore and all the things you can now do. Isn't magic meant to be this passion of yours?

Well okay, the thing is on one hand he does have a point. It's a bit of a rote with the recent jumps. Not ALL the jumps, but the recent jumps. I should actually find other little details to bring up. I disagree with the amount of detail for each and every one, but he does still have a point and I should include some variation.
>>
>>49573565
The biggest thing is that, early on at least, SMT was pretty much a cosmic horror story. Every victory against Law and Chaos was fleeting, at best, and utterly pointless at worst. SMT 1's Hero defeats Law and Chaos in order to create a new nation where people can live in peace, only for him to die in a "landslide" (yeah, bullshit, you'll see why) and Law takes over (suspicious timing) anyway. SMT 2 ends with countless people dead, and even though YHVH is killed he eventually comes back and sentences Aleph to an eternal torment the likes of which have never been seen before. Hell, Nocturne reveals that the Great Will is creating and destroying countless universes in order to finally find a way to erase free will for good, and it ends with the Demifiend destroying the multiverse and allowing Chaos to finally wage war against Law directly. No happy (or at least bittersweet) Neutral ending here, folks! Of course, this changed and eventually SMT became known as the series where humans could punch out gods, but the point still stands that SMT was once an even bleaker place then we know see it as.
>>
>>49573614

I only delete them because looking at my failures just makes me upset rather then giving inspiration

Satan is God's servant, who only rebels because of his human half in the Law ending of 2. The Great Will IS YHVH, and it's also evil, as seen in Nocturne. Also, why the hell can only humans kill gods and demons? Why is Dagda so powerful? Seriously, it's just...it's stupid.

You kind of do. SMT has YHVH flood the entire world, forcing people to flee into the Grand Cathedral AKA the final battleground between Law, Chaos, and the Hero and Heroine. In DeSu 1, you can't leave the Lockdown and by the 7th day big name demons are attacking random people (as seen with that soldier guy fighting off a few in some of the endings). DeSu 2 has Polaris delete the world by the final day. You have to go with the MCs as the barrier has fallen and the world is going to be deleted. That's why they left, everyone else was already dead. And DDS has the Junkyard get deleted, while part 2 will have God/Brahma delete the Earth. So no, unless you go to the Warehouse you're going to confront the big players.

Still, calling them chain-enders is a pretty hilarious exaggeration. Take 1000 cp Tribrid or Dormant Power with Chosen+Demonic Fusion and you're pretty much the strongest thing in SMT1 that isn't YHVH or Lucifer.

Bels and Whistles and Sword of Polaris also make you one of the main players in their jumps. Even without them, you can just level grind.

Ahem well...
Choose Your Own Adventure started as a series of children's gamebooks where each story is written from a second-person point of view, with the reader assuming the role of the protagonist and making choices that determine the main character's actions and the plot's outcome. The series was based upon a concept created by Edward Packard and originally published by Constance Cappel's and R. A. Montgomery's Vermont Crossroads Press as the "Adventures of You" series, starting with Packard's Sugarcane Island in 1976.
This is the origin of the CYOA format which we use along with a vaguely structured system to tell our own single player adventures, usually to each other over the board but I myself have shown my writefagging to a friend IRL as well. It is A) a game that is Tridtional because of it's roots mid-1970's and B) cool to have on /TG. It is not a quest thread for a single reason, we don't centrealize on anyone of our stories and thus this is basically our spot to exchange stories about the game we play, which /TG is well known for, and also get in touch with the Creators of Content who happen to post on board. So, yeah not a quest thread.
>>
>>49573836
Not...really? You do realize that game logic doesn't apply in those worlds, right? And that SMTAnon even confirmed that you can still get your ass beat if people gang up on you, which they will. Also, both of those perks come with drawbacks in which the even bigger players want you dead. Good luck fighting the Bels early on, even better luck with Polaris. Plus, do you even realize the amount of save scumming needed for those games? Something you don't have access to? I think you gravely underestimate the danger you're in.

Don't forget Strange Journey, where if you DON'T decide to create a barbaric hellhole or a 24/7 live concert of Zelenin's Greatest Hits you're still stuck with a planet's that ecologically screwed, without any real certainty of whether you can fix it or not!

And why stop there? Sure, DDS has a mostly happy ending but getting there really highlights how low people can sink even WITHOUT making demonic pacts, and the local representative of YHVH is an utterly incomprehensible mind screw of a spaceship-head. Even if you can pull a win in SMT 4 there's little motifs that highlight how futile everything is: The White, the Ancient of Days-and IIRC I think it's implied Sanat MIGHT be the previous world's version of Demifiend after becoming a true demon. Who by now has absolutely no humanity within him. And from what I've seen of the translated playthrough, Apocalypse's message is that the White kind of had a point in the sense that you gotta do something drastic to meaningfully influence the eternal war.

I'll concede that both Devil Survivor games are basically higher stakes Persona games, though.

>>49573697
I'm still not sure what to make of it all, to be honest. On a meta level I have NO expectation that what Nanashi apparently does in the Anarchy ending is going to stick, though. Or they'll just make Bonds the canon end for the next SMT game just like how apparently Neutral route was apparently the canon end for SMT 4

It'd help if I could just handwave it all as specific weirdness inherent in YHVH, Lucifer etc. in the SMT 4 iteration of universes but given the talk about permanently replacing YHVH I don't think that's gonna pass muster

What I AM wondering is what STEPHEN must be capable of if he's apparently survived from the FIRST game to now, if what I heard about the DLC is correct

>even more golden stuff

>holy shit dat BOD I happen to have a kickass bod
>and now the Warehouse is Aztec gold with Orokin Gold
>mfw

Aside from kind of spending time to myself giggling at all the ornate stuff that's around and being OCD about making sure everything is just the right AMOUNT of bling and not too much? I'm probably going to start making waves in the Aztec priesthood. By trying to find different ways to do their sacrifices. Maybe by trying to instill only a small portion of bloodletting and finding some kind of magical way so the life force in the blood does it. I mean yes it's a Dreamworks movie and so they tone it down... but have you seen Aztec rituals? Have you seen the amount of people they go through? Even ignoring if they got some things wrong like with the team gig with sacrificing the losers. You don't sacrifice losers, you sacrifice WINNERS in the Aztec mythology. You don't give your gods second best, that's insulting.

But the point is, use my own magics. Maybe play it up a bit, try to find a more... friendly way to keep it going while not causing everyone to die to a psychotic (and arguably still-realistic) priest who wants to murderize everyone to the gods?

Sanat being the Demifiend is based on him having the race Chaos King, which is the same race the Demifiend has with the Masakado Magatama. It's not definitive proof, especially since Demi-Fiend appears in the DLC, but given that they're the only two with the race...

I was thinking of his title being The Eternal Youth, and the fact he refers to Flyn & co. as the 5th humanity. Implying he's seen several creations and destructions of the universe at YHVH's hands. I guess if Stephen could access the Expanse well enough to get the other Great Will-sponsored individuals he might've plucked him from a time before he became a superdemon

Yeah, that's the part I'm trying to figure out the ramifications of. Like if high-powered humans can do things on par with the greatest demons, or if it's an Undertale-like situation where he's just a dude but he can basically win almost any fight he wants if he tries hard enough. And whether or not he was empowered by the Great Will too, for that matter. But the fact that he apparently doesn't intervene in whichever true ending you go for screams to me that going Anarchy is futile
>>
>>49573240
First off all I'd make sure that you have some means of being immune to memetic hazards. There are images, sounds and phrases in the scp verse that will kill you if you experience them. If you're going to try to push them they will replace everything on the internet with them to kill you. I'd also keep in mind SCP-8900-EX where they managed to cover up the fact that the world was naturally black and white before an scp created colour.
>>
>>49574058
Erm, actually...Sanat is an actual deity, and that's his actual title, the Eternal Youth, because he's actually supposed to look like an incredibly handsome sixteen year old. And the 5th humanity thing might be referring to humans being on the 5th stage of ascension or something, which is another part of his religion.

Apparently, in the Anarchy ending Stephen states that Nanashi will either become something like YHVH or he will become YHVH. The Goddess at his side is supposed to prevent this because supposedly YHVH went crazy due to loneliness, unable to see anyone as his equal, but I doubt that. He does say that a Messiah will rise to fight him, though.
>>
>>49574098
Death Note, Alan Wake, Banjo Ka-whatever, and SCP itself should have some decent starter perks for that.
>>
>>49574117
So now they're positing that Yahweh's breakup with Asherah is why he became a jerk.
>>
>>49574141
I thought Mem Aleph was the ultimate female creator deity counterpart in the SMTverse?
>>
>>49574058
>>49574117
Okay, so, I just watched the translated Anarchy ending, and...um...so apparently, Stephen really doesn't give a shit, and in fact seems to support your ascension, even warning that a new Messiah might rise to fight you. Speaking of, it seems that the Goddess of Tokyo is the one who sponsors Messiahs in the english version, not the Great Will, and says she will go to another universe. YHVH also makes the same taunt that he does in the Peace ending, proclaiming that humans will one day call out to him again, implying he will return. Also, it's only the SMT IV universe Nanashi controls, as the Goddess will go to another universe to find another Messiah. Ultimately, this means that in the english version, all you did was destroy that universe and temporarily erase YHVH. But there are still other YHVH's in other universes. And the Great Will is not mentioned at all.

God, just ONE THREAD without SMT... is beginning to look like a far-off dream.

Sort of. She and the other Mother Goddesses ruled the old universe, only for YHVH to come and shatter them, destroying the world and allowing Him to reign supreme. Interestingly enough, this actually points to (one of) the old canon(s), where YHVH used to be a minor god who managed to somehow power up through worship until he achieved omnipotence, which he then used to kill everyone and reset the universe with himself as the all powerful Creator God, ala SMT IV Final's Anarchy ending. Only Megami Tensei 2 and Nocturne and the games after it have him as the Great Will or a face of it.
>>
>>49574169
Do you think Scion could take YHVH?

Will Taylor Hebert kill them both in a single epic battle?

Will your liver survive the amount of alcohol you have to drink when you watch endbringers take on the archangels?

>>
>>49574194
Depends on which version of scion. The one we see probably doesn't have a chance. The full fledged entity with all of his billions of shards might have some tricks that'd make it less of an uneven fight. Also given that YHVH was apparently driven mad from loneliness some shards might be able to social fu him (Would be unsure about ptv as it's based on a deterministic universe).

No idea. From what I know, this >>49574194 .

For the Archangels vs. Endbringers? Well, assuming the Archangels are comparable to 1000 CP races, the Endbringers have endured far greater than what the AAs can dish out offensively. On the other hand, Worm is greatly lacking in the "faster than a speeding bullet" speedster department, and I'm not entirely sure that the Endbringers can even fight at those speeds.

Doesn't Apocalypse have a kind of chicken-egg thing going on where YHVH IS a facet of the Great Will, but he ALSO pushed around the other gods to become absolute top dog?

I dunno if I like the Goddess of Tokyo idea better or not. On the other hand, it's like Dagda but even worse. On the other hand, it does explain why everything goes down in Tokyio. Is she Burroughs or the little girl who hangs out with Stephen?

According to the artbook's translation the reason why his boss fight has a second form was because the same metaphysical whackness that let him demonise other gods turned HIM into a demon when humanity rejected him. Except for some reason unlike the other gods demonisation made HIM stronger

>dat english-japanese divergence

...as a vacation jump technically, there's not a lot to exactly say here. I mean yes I would try to actually make action films with female leads GOOD AGAIN because seriously, why do films like Lara Croft have to be so shiiiiiiiiit, but there's also the important thing of providing an amazon who was curvy and could actually provide those roles instead of leaving them to dainty, super skinny tiny women because apparently Hollywood is afraid of breaking out of a cookie cutter view.

But where my real passion would lie? Voice acting.

Because damn it, if I can't star with Robin Williams in this jump and fulfill my dream childhood, I will consider myself a complete and utter failure as a person.
>>
>>49574296
She'd probably take about the same amount of time as Naruto did. For all that Taylor has a memetic reputation as some uber-scheming badass, she's much closer to a shonen character. Think about it: fiercely loyal to her friends to a borderline obsessive degree, possessed of incredible stubbornness and willpower, pulls new powers out of her ass by coming up with clever uses of her current power set, and defeated the main villain through the power of friendship and cooperation. The only difference between her and Naruto (aside from their respective powers) is that instead of being an obnoxious twit, she's an insufferable bitch.
>>
>>49574337
So Taylor Hebert is Sasuke.
>>
>>49574337
Taylor did nothing wrong except show too much mercy to bigger bitches.
>>
>>49574269
As far as I know, YHVH in Apocalypse basically slapped the shit out of the gods because they were taking away from his worship. Think of it like this, YHVH is this big mafia guy, and all these other gods are low level gangs that take from his profits. Obviously, he's going to crack a few skulls. even more so because he's the legitimate creator god, and all the other gods are just moochers.

Yes, the Goddess of Tokyo is the little girl that's seen with Stephen.
>>
>>49574337
Wisdom. You are truly a sage among anons.
>>
>>49574372
What? Taylor does EVERYTHING wrong. Like, from page one of the series, she's screwing things up left and right. She's just good at fixing her mistakes.

>>49574329
>Wanting to voice act with Robin Williams in Aladdin
I knew there was a reason why I liked you, Red. I presume you're going to try to help him with his issues and maybe prevent his suicide later on?
>>
>>49574337
Say what you want about Naruto's intelligence and social skills, he's still a total bro. Hell, his social skills are only so poor because he got ignored for most of his life, he just needs someone to teach him, that's all.
>>
>>49574399
Oh, sure. I was just being pithy. In actuality I think that a Naruto who had a few more positive influences when he was young would actually be a pretty great guy to hang out with. He just needs someone who isn't Sakura to hit him when he's being stupid. That started off as him pursuing her romantically, so her hitting him just got lumped into that stubborn "I'll do it no matter how hard it is" thing he has and just got seen as an impediment. Even after he shifted his feelings for her over to "friend and surrogate sister" the context for her hitting him had been established as just a sign that he should keep going. But if a jumper slapped him upside the head every once in a while I think it would work well.
>>
>>49574386
Not even in Aladdin, just in general. Any of his songs are just amazing to hear, because he always put so much work into them. His roles he always poured his soul into so the characters were so... animated. I always wanted to be like him as a kid. Before I realized my voice was forever shit.

I actually have no idea whether I WOULD be able to help him, or if he would open up to that extent. Folks like him tend to keep their depression or concerns really close to their chest, and he can only be helped if he wants to be helped. But I can sure try, and if nothing else... maybe an extra shoulder might make difference. I don't know.

But trying is better than nothing.
>>
>>49574449
Eh. Just give them super powers. Flying/Telekinesis/Magic would cheer anyone up. Maybe give them a god complex that will not end well though...
>>
>>49574492
No offense anon, but that sounds like going "Hey, you know what could solve years of pent up issues? CANDY!!"

I really, really don't see it ending well, and feels more like trying to do bribery. If one wants to ensure that shit doesn't happen upon leaving, get to the root of the problem and help resolve it. Cheap tricks isn't going to do shit without addressing the concerns that lead to it.
>>
>>49574508
A big part of depression is being unable to feel happiness, anyway. It's not just that you're sad, it's that you can't not be sad. At best, positive emotions are muted. Superpowers would be neat, but any thrill from them would be too subdued to cause significant changes.
>>
>>49574508
He was depressed because of the drugs he used to take. If you can fix the effects of his past drug abuse it would probably help him a lot.

Jump #162: Portal
>Nine of Cups (Achieving what you always thought you wanted.)
Just because it isn't what I thought I wanted doesn't make it worthwhile.
>Location: The Aperture Science Enrichment Center
>Identity: JuDOS
>Drawbacks: Perpetual Testing Initiative (0), Where's My Olympus? (+300)
That AI is not Cave Johnson. Cave Johnson wouldn't act nearly so sneaky. Therefore, I don't have to feel guilty about fighting back.
>We’ve both done a lot of things that you’re going to regret. (Free, JuDOS)
Being an AI, I envy the option to embrace regret. One must always march onward. For SCIENCE.
>The Enrichment Center regrets to inform you that this next test is impossible. (1150, JuDOS)
This is why humans are assigned to perform this next test. Human potential routinely involves doing the impossible.
>Why not marry safe science if you love it so much? (850)
Sacrifices must be made! Though we have done an admirable job under the new administration of reducing permanent injuries and deaths to near-zero levels in an effort to reduce our insurance rates.
>Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (700)
You know who is going to be interested in this? NASA. We're going to launch a slab of concrete to Mars with an active portal on it, so that astronauts can set up shop there.
>Long Fall Boots (650)
Useful in a wide number of fields once the production process is refined to a reasonably low expense level. This will also be combined with the Aperture Science Exoskeleton System, in development at an enrichment center near you.
>Conversion Gel Recipe (550)
Well, we've got to make those portals on the red planet work somehow. Also, paint this on things in orbit, and suddenly you don't need to launch rockets in order to put things up there. We're going to be rich, ladies and gentlemen. We just... need to mine regolith first. Please ensure proper EVA training takes place.
>>
>>49574811
>Repulsion Gel Recipe (350)
This... is of limited utility at present, to be honest, but I intend to produce this in truly massive quantities, compress it with magic, store it in a water balloon like state, and use it on some sort of enemy spaceship in the future just to watch it shake itself to pieces.
>Propulsion Gel Recipe (300, JuDOS)
You know who could use this? The Navy. Who needs rail guns? Gel guns. Hell, traditional guns! Use a 20 gauge shell instead of a 12 gauge shell, coat the interior of the barrel, and once you pull that trigger you'll find the bullet travelling triple the normal speed. Not very useful for pistols, though. Mostly short guns. Naval guns on the other hand... oh yeah, those shells are going to be FLYING.
>Aperture Science Data Collection and Human Suffering Enablement Chamber (0)
We need somewhere to do science with the warehouse, and otherwise alleviate boredom. This is that place.

I'm not going to lie. The reason I took JuDOS is solely because I will be here when the Seven Hour War occurs. I'll be keeping an eye on Black Mesa but keep working on science, but when the time is right and the portal storms tear across the planet... I'll be prepared. I'll have had years of testing with human subjects and robotic ones, because there are plenty of tests that such precision is necessary for, and there will be a great many robotic test subjects because you just never know, after all.

But the day will come. The overhead doors to the test chambers will open. Robots of a dozen types will issue forth. The war will be over in seven hours, I assure you, but those seven hours will be decisively on humanity's side. Clouds of robots, spreading across the globe, protecting human interests and striking back at the aliens and the Combine.

>>49574508
This would probably be a good time to throw out the idea of a 'The Magicians" Jump, which has been kicking around in my head for a little while (I should mention that I'm not claiming it).

It's sort of about.. an adult going to Hogwarts and then finding Narnia. Except much darker. There's a book series and a TV show.

But anyway, the point of it the story is kind of that just because there's magic in the world, there isn't necessarily meaning. The characters aren't just handed a quest to complete, or a dark wizard to fight - they have to decide on their own purpose, and find their own happiness. And they're really fucked up people. In a lot of ways it's a deconstruction of most fantasy stories.

Plus it's a cool setting with cool magic.

There are some weird things with psionics in pokemon when it comes to humans, but humans can't learn pokemon moves. At least the guy behind the games describes humans in being different from pokemon in that they can't learn four moves, whatever the hell he means by that.
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2012/11/23/pok-233-mon-39-s-burning-questions.aspx?PostPageIndex=2

Really though there isn't a lot to go on when it comes to human psychic powers in pokemon, because the focus is always on pokemon. Whenever humans use psychic powers though it's never explained, but the jump offers you power comparable to a pokemon, so I would assume you get similar sorts of powers to pokemon just that those powers would be different.
>>
So, uh, just out of curiosity, if SMTAnon is around: with the /co/co/'s Bizarre Adventure jump, were you thinking that (non-drop-in) Jumpers would become existing /comic and cartoon/ characters, or that they'd be "original characters" existing in the world of /co/co/?

Also, just watched parts of her battle against Ash... She made Abra evolve just because.

What sort of range did they have on the teleporting and communications in the manga?
>>
>>49576838
If someone wanted to do something like that, then I'd suggest it be a Sentai jump instead for a little bit of added diversity.
>>
>>49576863
Sabrina's shit is from that weird before time where the anime just straight up made shit up and people thought you could find Mew under a truck.

Sometimes I miss those times.

I dunno Anon I don't want to add to my workload.

Making it a Sentai jump though is just not right. Everything is different. And Time Force's Sentai version didn't have its main villain
>>
>>49576915
You mean that Timeranger's Power Rangers added a main villain. Sentai comes first, then it's adapted.
>>
>>49576915
>>49577007

Yes.

Oh god why did Megaforce's English adaptation got so fucked up
>>
>>49577019
I think it's because the final battle also used the Sentai that were not adapted to Power Rangers so they had to cut their parts out and these parts also included some characters that WERE adapted so it is janky and cut off and all
>>
>>49577047
Also, the red ranger wasn't named Captain Marvelous, and that's clearly a mistake.
>>
>>49577061

>>
Does anyone know anything about Shadowrun? I was wondering how their magic compares to other settings.
>>
>>49576863
Yeah, they can do illusions. During the silph co arc there was an entire floor made of illusions that Blue (or Green, depends on translator - the girl) had to fight through. Communications, unknown range - its implied Lance's are pretty fuck hueg since he's commanding a goddamn pokemon army at one point across all of kanto before being taken on by an all-star team of the team rocket admins, Red, Blue, Green, Mewtwo, and then finally stopped in the eleventh hour by Yellow and Giovanni.

Teleporting, also unknown but probably short range.

I only know a little bit, but enough to give a short version approximation. It's a little weird. The closest other magic system I could compare it to would be Dresden's magic, but without randomly destroying electronics. What I mean is, both operate by using the wielder's stamina rather than a spells per day system. More powerful spells are more draining and pushing too far past your own limits can cause you to kill yourself if you're not careful.

As far as most "normal" mages go, they're fairly Shamanistic. Think Native American style Shamans, because they had a lot of influence on the whole process. Spirit summoning, ritual spells, and totems are all par for the course. There are normal mages that just summon up blasts of fire or electricity and just go to town, but they're less common than the Shaman types. They have their Druids off in the woods, but most of those are Elves and they're not excited about others learning their kind of magic.

There's also a /lot/ of strange, niche magic in Shadowrun. You've got the werewolves, which are actually mages that allow themselves or are accidentally infused with spirits of rage, allowing them to change into half-man, half-beast, hard to control killing machines. Then there's the cybermages, who I actually don't remember a lot about.

You also have to consider cybernetics when you talk about Shadowrun Magic. Mages rely on "Essence" to connect to the magic of the world, which is /rapidly/ lost as you start adding cybernetics to yourself, cutting into your power dramatically as it is lost.

Now, I'll asterisk this whole conversation by saying that I have never played the tabletop game system, only read the older books and played the SNES and Sega games, so they may have changed things in the new series of books and games.

TLDR: Think Dresden, with more of a Native American influence. More utilitarian than raw power, useful only if you have a large stamina bar and dislike cybernetics in all forms.

>>
>>49577755
This is true. Shadowrun magic is quite a bit more draining for the punch you could get out of it than Dresden's magic. Unless you're a Dragon. But that might have more to do with their immense stamina allowing them to snap normal magic over their knees than anything else.

A perk that allows you to miniaturize your tech to custom robo levels would be cool. But I think that should be something you'd have to may be have the scientist have a melting pot perk, one that allows him to use all his other tech trees together?

>>49578203
>We can use that for training, right?
Yeah, it does weight you down so both the drawbacks and the benifits of that are a thing.

>Also, how quickly can we empty said inventory?
Instantly. It's a Zelda Inventory time sorta stops while you look through it in the game so it's basically in the Jump as fast as you can think and reach for it. It can't be used for blade rain, as it's only for retrieval and storage.

You're so powerful that the biggest and really only threat to you is exhaustion. Have one or two good stamina/befriending perks and you will almost definitely survive.

Like I said, I don't know much more than the old style games and books. In them, Shamans were by far the most common type of mage I saw there. I could count the number of purely "hermetic" mages I remember on one hand. This /may/ have changed in the newer stuff. I don't know. That said, most Shamans did have a few quick, offensive spells like Firebolt, but their specialty was still Shamanistic magic at the end of the day.
>>
>>49578383
...I don't see where there's anything that proves me wrong on grinding? Great, you can do it, I said as much. And? You don't have unlimited time like in the game to do it. Also, yes, he did. He stated that the Archangel Michael and his group could gang up on you and overwhelm you. Just because you have more power then anyone alone doesn't mean you can't be overpowered by a group. Also, it seems you can't even read your own example, given that 1. he's talking about a build that lacks a cosmic warehouse and 2. he mentions that you'll die of exhaustion regardless of stamina perks.
>>
>>49578599
Use Narnia time and stuff in DeSu and fight against fellow timers but don't kill them. You still get the EXP. this you get more time to grind too
>>
>>49578599
Are you retarded or just trolling? Someone straight up asks him if they have the protagonists ability to level up and grind. And then he says they do have that ability. Meaning that you can, in fact level up to 99 within the time period of the jump, just like the protagonists can in game. And dieing of exhaustion regardless of stamina perks is pretty ridiculous considering there is at least one that makes it so you literally never get tired.

...I think the only reason I picked those drawbacks is because the Warehouse is effectively a home anyhow, so I could easily pick a shitty apartment that's dirt cheap and just walk into the Warehouse to actually live my life in a better way. It's a surprisingly flexible gig that made this even possible to begin with, though the 'Digital Half-Life' and the 'Rule of Three' drawbacks are gonna make it pretty harsh. It forces me to stick with either really kickass 2-parter games, or making some sick video game equipment and attempt to circumvent the ruling that way, though it still feels like I should play it safe.

...so yeah, I'd probably try to make some really nice VR equipment? And occasionally a game or two in order to build some notoriety, so people paid the fuck attention. I also really doubt that donations would work if the games were really that much of money suckers, as if the games and tech is successful, then I could see people going "Why would you need donations, you should be stupid rich".

It's gonna be something of a balancing act, alright.

Alan Wake has "A Dark Place", which allows you to create an area up to the size of a city block where time doesn't pass. Said area warps its local reality according to the dreams and thoughts of its inhabitants, and is probably pretty spoopy.
It lasts for up to a week, but nothing says you can't spam it (or how long it takes to create, or any details like that), so you could probably just keep recasting it whenever it failed or else develop some way to make it permanent through magitech and transferrence.
After that it's just a case of getting a nice place to put it. Boom, your very own pallet swap room of spirit and time?!

200 - Chrome, Cartoon, Chrometoon
Chrome plating or plastic? A metallic sheen, or a simple paint job? These are important questions in making a Custom Robo. Or, ultimately, not really. Still, with a minimum of difficulty, you can alter a design so that it has different aesthetics, or modify something that already exists to something you think looks cooler.

400 - Upscaling
Custom Robo are only eight inches tall, and yet the weapons the carry can seriously injure a human, should one be caught in the line of fire. Even legal parts can do this, let alone illegal ones. So imagine what this technology would do if it was bigger? By the time it was the size of a human - let’s say it’s a suit of power armor - it could probably punch a hole in a tank.

600 - Other Robos, Other Parts
In each production generation of Robos, there are a certain number of types, and three Robos in each type. However, as science marches on, more Robos are produced before the next generation is official. Like how the Ray is remade as the Ray Mark II and the Ray Mark III, and the X-Ray as the Ray Sky - a completely different type of Robo, for the record. These less than official Robos are known as ‘Other’ type Robos. You, as a scientist, gain insight into creating ‘Other’ type Robos using the tech from other jumps that you possess. ‘Other’ type parts don’t officially exist, simply being declared legal or illegal.

Also, an explanation of discounts.

I'm thinking it might take several 40k jumps to accomplish, some estimates put their populations in the trillions, and their city is all space folded. Which never made sense, some of them must farm and trade, raiding can't be that cost effective.

So... yeah. The long and short of it? I'm going to read the books. I'm going to find out how the xenos work. And then I'm gonna purge me some xenos. Tactically. Mostly by eradicating their food sources and offering them the option of either fucking off to their home planet or eradicating their species. Because apparently they're biologically programmed to be assholes, like Daleks but without the cuddly appeal or the brains. Or the armored tank body.

Idiots.

Yeerks are blind sluglike creatures that take over hosts and puppet them via the brain. They dont do it for food they do it because they are parasites that require a host to actually do anything other than quiver in a big puddle of other yeerks.

Plus they enjoy having senses other than feeling vibrations. Some species willingly become hosts. Most dont.

Really? One can lift towns and disintegrate people w/ raw telekinetic force, another can manipulate matter on a molecular scale, and tge other can pull meteors from at least low Earth orbit. I've heard that Alpha-level can compete with a tank battalion and /maybe/ devastate fortresses.
>>

I don't know how you could become an Alpha+ psyker, anyway.

I'd like some citations on that. Cause all I can find on the web is much smaller on scale unless you're talking Emp and (Most of) the Primarchs.
Notable feats from an Alpha Plus are snapping a Titan in half and summoning a legion of Greater Daemons. The latter of which is fucking impressive and the former of which means at least city levels of psychic might, though that's only in the armor once you get into the fact that Titans are covered in Power Fields or Void Shields you get into the comfortably mountain or perhaps even continental levels of damage. Also mentioning of twins who are apparently holy shit awesome but I was just doing a brief search.

Couldn't find that demon you were talking about but on Alpha Plus Pyskers:
An Alpha Plus grade psyker, however, is a being of almost grotesque power. They are described as being able to "turn a man inside-out with a glance", "snap a Battle Titan in half with a flick of the wrist", and "a muttered syllable can turn an army upon itself in a frenzy of blood lust". They are capable of destroying entire worlds -- sometimes unintentionally.

There is some controversy as to whether this description should be taken as an objective description of the Alpha Level of psychic mastery, or if it is intended to be read as Imperial propaganda, and just the exaggerated view of the generally anti-psychic authorities of the Imperium. The Alpha grade psyker Esarhaddon is powerful enough to control hundreds of Imperial citizens as puppets, but he is not described as being powerful enough to destroy a Battle Titan, and is eventually subdued.

However, there are very few Alpha or Αlpha Plus psykers that can be controlled safely, or even at all. Because more powerful psykers attract proportionally more interest from Warp-bound daemons, many are driven insane, tainted by Chaos, or even become possessed (examples include the Apex Twins, who were responsible for murdering scores of Imperial Guard regiments). They are one of the biggest threats the Inquisition has to face, and are one of the grave dangers to Mankind that the Ordo Hereticus was formed to combat. Most such psykers are executed, as the threat they pose is simply too great to deal with or control to any large degree. The Inquisitor Gideon Ravenor was known to be an Alpha Plus psyker, but was later downgraded to the grade of powerful Delta or weak Gamma. The Emperor of Mankind would be considered an Alpha Plus, though in fact his power is so great that it probably cannot be measured by any mortal scale.

The Apex Twins were the ones who murdered scores of Imperial Guard.

So another one of those arbitrarily high end feats, which like Malcador had an arbitrary plot device level of machinery that psychic amplification one him at the time. See I'm looking for an example of a regular Alpha Plus and those are in the ranges of snaping Battle Titans and such. The other stuff take unknown levels of tech to enhance the average Alpha Plus to Emp or Howling level feats. Show me just Alpha Plus level here, like how Malcador calmed the warp at one point at the planetary level, now that's an impressive feat but I think it's been retconned.

>>49580890

Also, kek at seriously implying a jumper is human. Jumpers are omniversal abominations empowered by an even bigger abomination to troll the reality, who will have outlived any human many times over before they hit mid chain. Frankly, the demons have more in common with the humans than jumpers do.

>>49581094
The Golden Throne was made as a hybrid of Eldar and Imperial tech from the Dark Age of Technology, so it's really high end but I'm not going to say a Jumper can't build it. As for the Cacodominus, it had arbitrary plot levels of tech, again not saying a Jumper can't make it.

I know it is. I've only given feats that were the 'average' Alpha+ psyker could do.

>Of fucking course it's all over the place.
But it's not the line above is all the feats an 'average' Alpha+ does. Exceptions in this lump category are either Emperor of Mankind, Primarchs, or using tech that has plot levels of advancement in it.

>It's honestly really annoying to see you whine about the lore and terminology of a setting you don't even know.
There is no need for such accusations. I'm not whining, merely stating what research I've done and asking for feedback, correcting that feedback where it contradicts the research done or clarifying my points.

It's not particularly bad, but it's mostly there for the circumstances rather than any particularly special abilities. The characters in there stand out moreso than anything, and there's a large part of the worldbuilding that's been hinted at but not yet developed. The truth of the matter is that the Empire of Mankind has come across them often enough that they've stated outright the same thing's I have have Alpha+ are able to "snap a Battle Titan in half with a flick of the wrist", and "a muttered syllable can turn an army upon itself in a frenzy of blood lust". with the exceptional high end being they are capable of destroying entire worlds -- sometimes unintentionally. This is the so called 'average'.
Evidence to the contrary comes from the God-Emperor, the Primarchs, or two Alpha+ on a hell of a lot of tech. These are exceptions.
It is true that the canon doesn't ever say anything about the average Alpha+ other than the fact that they're mostly KOS.

Well they're lampreys. Probably some kind of horrible parasite.
>>
>>49582037
-Psyker Bane (Khornate Only): The strength of flesh and the power of blood are things that the Lord of Skulls cherishes immensely, and to deny these strengths by using powers not yours are a sin to his magnificence. It is one thing to replace flesh with machine, as it is still the ingenuity of man that has led to the machine’s creation… but to use the power of the Immaterium for your own, to forsake your flesh for easy power? Blasphemy. While you have been barred from using Psyker abilities, this has been turned into a boon; any attempt to directly use Psyker abilities on you mostly wash right off, their stolen power being of little use to you while their attempts to use the environment against you will have a partially reduced effect. Outside of this world, it will work just as well against any ability that is psychic in nature. Let them cower in their weakness, for you are strong.

You tell me.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is that grinding ultra rare drops from khorne daemons in numbers high enough for a drop to be likely, would be unfeasible without basically fighting entire armies of them for months to years on fucking end, and it still isn't a good chance. At that point, why bother, you don't need the fucking collar that badly do you?

I mean, lets think of it this way; if he plans on literally killing trillions of trillions of daemons over the course of a couple thousand years, there's a decent chance he'll get his collar at some point, and with companions he can kill more daemons faster.
