Generally Dwarven culture as a whole dictates most social roles based on gender: Women often taking care of the home while the men are out in other pursuits. You see them all the time, it's just that it's practically impossible to distinguish the two genders apart unless they're naked. Children are just seen as shorter dwarves, otherwise they act just like adults.
