What class is King Arthur

King

paladin
>>
>>49337986
Aristocrat. All the fighting stuff came from the magic items.
>>
Arthur
>>
>>49338011
Wouldn't it be fighter? What paladin-y things does he really do?
>>
>>49337986
NPC that was used for a few good games, with a few different GMs exploring his positives and negatives while giving the players something to do as a result, then ruined when another GM took over and uses him to promote his two self inserts.
>>
>>49338046
Who are the self inserts? Lancelot obviously and...? Mordred?
>>
>>49337986
Royal Cunt.

>starts with magic sword and a fuckton of money
>continues to have magic swords tossed at him willy nilly
>has no less than fucking 10 companions at any given time
>engages in PvP at the drop of a hat
>>
Arthur is a Warlord.

Lancelot is a Fighter.

Galahad is a Paladin.

There's literally nothing wrong with PnP PvP. Scrub.
>>
>>49338097

Depends on the system. Some systems can make PvP fun and have it not disrupt the game. Other systems are like D&D, where it utterly sucks and ruins everything.
>>
>>49338067
Galahad?
Galahad was a bit 'muh purity', but he wasn't a cunt like his dad.
He's sort of the person everyone admires but never really understands because he's so much of a perfect perfectionist you're almost waiting for him to crack.

>>49337986
The ruling class
>>
Fighting-Man.
>>
>>49338162
Whenever I hear this I always imagine like a caveman or stereotypical Neanderthal and it fucking cracks me up. Why didn't they just use the word "Knight" to describe "man-who-hits-things-with-sword-and-wears-armour"
>>
>>49338172
Because Knights are considered nobility and a lot of medieval soldiers are not. Soldier sounds modern and Warrior often sounds barbaric.
I dunno, not my choice in name.
>>
>>49338172
Title. Landed or landless. Later romanticized with chivalry.
>>
>>49338172

Not all Fighters use swords and wear armor
>>
>>49337986
once and future class
>>
>>49338362
they are shit fighters then. if you want to use axes, roll barbarian.
>>
>>49338296
All of DnD is based on romantic era medievalism, specifically Ivanhoe
>>
Saber
>>
>>49338362
Not all Knights used swords? In fact that was a side arm for a knight the same way most soldiers use an assault rifle or submachine gun primarily instead of their fucking handguns
>>
>>49338538
Not monks.
>>
>>49338586
Fuck off, you know exactly what I meant.
>>
>>49338172
Meh, by the time they reach lev 8-9 they are rich enough and done enough decent shit to be knighted by any local king.

Bard

>30 ranks bluff
>"I pulled this sword out so it means I'm king."
>>
>>49337986
He did have a pretty decent party with cavaliers, paladins, wizards, a dwarf, and a mage/knight hybrid. Then he tried a plane raid that really didn't go well. Should have leveled up some more before trying that.
>>
>>49338605
>implying they want to be knighted
>implying the king wants anything to do with them
>>

This is 2E isn't it? I miss when they used to do this kind of stuff

I miss old table top in general compared to what it is now

1E Deities and Demigods man
There's a chapter on Arthurian Heroes
>>
>>49338651
I wish I was competent enough to convert these to Pathfinder.
>>
>>49338651
How would you build the most typical knight of the round table class in Pathfinder using only core classes?
>>
>>49337986
Demigod. Arthur is the soul of Britain, the Once and Future King, and his return will usher in a golden age of prosperity and righteousness.

Better question.

What class is Sir Kay?
>>
>>49339175
He's in a class all his own.
>>

That image is incredibly Dark Souls
>>
>>49339175
Weren't giants common in medieval folklore and such?

Yeah. Literally called "Camelot". It was on a few university's recommended reading list because the authors were that autistic. They go over the mythic version that was written way back then, the cinematic we have nowadays in movies and stuff and the real life. Some stuff too about Europe of the 5th century. Neat read.
Also have the stats of a probable real-life Arthur.
>>
>>49337986
Class-based systems are cancer.

Arthur is a knight.

Most of his skills will be in sword, lance, ride: horse, battle tactics, siegecraft, knowledge: chivalric code, and a smattering of peasant skills from his days as a dung-picking orphan.
>>
>>49339175
>>49339473
Now I want to play a sarcastic giant administrator knight.
>>
>>49338076
>starts with magic sword and a fuckton of money
He starts as a squire without any money.
>>
>>49337986
King, multiclassed into Cuck.
>>
>>49338036
Chosen by God and blessed with a holy sword by a powerful spirit of good.
>>
>>49342257
>his days as a dung-picking orphan
He was raised as a foster son by Sir Ector in his household
>>
>>49337986
Social Class: King (Head of State)
Character Class: Fighter14

>>49339473
>Sir Kex
This sounds like a decent reaction image
