Flat out, they're pretty much the best melee infantry in the games in terms of how hard they fucking hit, their only weakness is exorbitant points cost and being termiantors. They can turn Abaddon into paste but suffer from poor mobility and being a distraction carnifex. Escort is absolutely necessary but when it works it is GLORIOUS.

Dark Reapers are shit and easy to kill at the start of the game once I've ghosted halfway across the board by just deploying. The only thing I worry about is Wraithguard, and that's why I ally in Ultramarines with Centurions to solve that issue.

there is a number of reasons why they could be waiting to reload. You don't need the rate of fire to be so high when there is a whole battery raining shells down on an enemy, and slow but cadenced shells are just as effective as fast ones when it comes to area denial and suppression.

Dark reapers will smoke bikes. Hit on 2s, rerolls to hit against bikes, S8, blast template and ignore jink. Anyone without a learning disability will place them behind LoS to walk out and shoot on their turn.

Also, I was talking in general about ignores cover. AP2 blasts with ignores cover are alarmingly easy to come. Tau, vanilla marines and Guard all can laugh that point sink off the board, and literally anyone could just tarpit it with bubble wrap. Wraithguard aren't even an economical counter and could just sit in a transport or deep strike.

Ideal artillery ROF is not dependant on the limits of the mechanism, but on combat role and ammunition supply. Artillery can burn through ammunition supplies FAST, because you generally have a battery firing together and those shells are fucking heavy. You can't pack the whole volume of a supply truck with those things unless you want a cracked axle on the first bump.

Generally, when artillery begins the enemy immediately scrambles for cover. This means that every salvo after the first is inflicting negligible casualties. The purpose of sustained fire is not to get rounds downrange, since they aren't likely to kill anyone anyway, but to keep the enemy locked down in their holes. As such, the best rate of fire is one juuuuust fast enough to land a second shell right when the enemy's thinking about sticking his nose out. This gives your guys time to reposition, rearm, or otherwise get things done without being shot at.

If the artillery is working in a precision strike capacity, then the limiting factor is targeting speed and fire opportunities.

You could argue that everything's equally worth shit with Chaos. The best reward you can really get is being a Daemon Prince, which really only means that now you get to serve your patron more directly. And along the way you start to lose anything that your Chaos god doesn't care about, which is really anything not related to the worship of them. Emotions, memories, interests...

I once ran a DC themed list that was a 7 Psyker Librarius Conclave, with two 15 man death companies, 2 sanguinary priests, and two squads of scouts just so I could take a Baal strike force.

The three of the conclave rolled invisibility so it was 30 Death Company that could only be hit on 6's with a 3+ and a 4+ FNP.

The Imperial Guard they faced fired, in total, a good 300+ shots and killed ONE (1) of them. Before getting chewed through slowly in CC. They would've been dead instantly but war hymns made it take a good two turns to chew through them.

Because the primary way for a mortal to be elevated to daemonhood is via one of the Chaos gods and they're loathe to lose a promising tool or worse lose it to one of their brothers. That is what being a Daemon Prince is ultimately all about, power and immorality in exchange for an eternity of servitude. Thus Undivided Daemon Princes have become have become a rarity, representing individuals who have proven that to be an asset to Chaos, have possibly told the gods to piss off when they came demanding sole tribute, or have shown that they won't be an interference in the Great Game for one reason or another. This is why both Lorgar and Perturabo are Undivided. Lorgar worships the gods equally as a pantheon and Perturabo doesn't give a damn about anything other than wrecking the Imperium.

Kharn managed to hit Abbaddon twice, quite nastily and the big shit was saved by his Terminator Armour/MoN. He also managed to dodge all the lethal blows Abbaddon decided to throw at him.

For a dude who claimed to have the favour of all four Gods, alongside the assistance of relic Terminator Armour and one of the most powerful Daemon Weapons in existence, ol' Abby got shown the fuck up in front of his own men, even if he won.

Meanwhile Abbaddon's hits, save for one, were either tanked by Kharn or dodged would they prove lethal.

Abbaddon is literally the most powerful non-Daemon in terms of raw Chaos favour right now, in addition to possessing the assistance of his Daemon Sword, something bearing a spirit more powerful than your standard Greater Daemon. He also possessed superior gear and still took two hits that would've ended him without much issue had he not the armour or mark.
