Yeah.

The best part is that the pic is taken through clear ice, meaning it's entirely plausible that the photographer could step on a thin patch and fall through...and that leopard seal knows it.

If you fell into that water, you'd be dead.

Wow did not know this happened. Kind of sad. So then how is this Dark Heresy related?
>>
>>49234288
>What about that is terrifying?

They're both hunters and ambush predators.

They have been known to kill polar bears and eat them.

They are ridiculously fast in the water, and their jaws have rows of canines designed to grasp fish (i.e. they're sharp as fuck). They also don't kill their prey immediately, instead preferring to disembowel them and feast on the fleshy organs and abdominal muscles first before moving on to the bones and other muscles. This means it will eat you while you're still alive.

They're pretty scary if they're hungry, and they will actively hunt humans when it's convenient to do so.

They ain't called Leopard Seals because they look like leopards.
>>
>>49234370
>So then how is this Dark Heresy related?

The chart implies Obama killed Harambe.

It's a joke about a shitty investigation, which is really common in Dark Heresy if you don't know what you're doing.

And then Pathfinder didn;t fix 3.5's problems straight away. At least it had the decency to make the Monk-that-works a revision to the original Monk, so players can justify rebuilding their characters.
Pity it came with a Barbarian nerf, though.

A lot of the class imbalance came primarily from them testing the game incorrectly. There's an old blog post by Jonathan Tweet that sheds a bit of light on that, I'll see if I can track it down; IIRC the main issue was most spellcasters were played as support for the martials, either as party-buffing machines or targeting only HP as if they were walking mortar emplacements, so naturally the martials seemed fine at that time.

The 'prioritize system mastery' bits were in the form of intentional obliqueness, the design of feats, and the open-ended skill system. They put in options for the sake of completeness and then intentionally executed on those designs in a way which made only a handful of options the actually intended, good choices while making others subpar (perhaps barring certain circumstances). And obviously, this all hurts martials far more than casters.

Basically it was a massive string of shortsighted decisions that assumed everyone would play things a very specific way.

I blame the gax. You can see a decent bit of stuff in there that seems catered to his world and gming style. Of course the major problem then was the world didn't come prepackaged in the beginning, and low and behold he had a fairly specific style of running things.

Hey I want elves and dwarves to be rare in my world. But I don't want to include a world within the book so people can make their own. I know, I'll restrict being able to play these things based on lucky rolls. That way they'll have to be rare.

Or hey what if they have level restrictions on what they can do so people will play more humans. Know what would be fun? If the only thing dwarves can do is detect when I'm being a cunt to my players in such a way that it would never make sense at anyone else's table.

So you're saying martials should have a level cap lower than wizards?
>>
>>49236484
>>49242265

Actually, most (not all) African nations are surprisingly modern and not-shitty in their capitol cities. They've clean, running water, reliable power grids, solid public services, and the other hallmarks of modern life.

It's when you get outside capitols that you start to have problems, because in African political thinking, supporting cities other than the capitol is supporting a potential rival, so they're given the bare minimum necessary to keep its people complacent.

While there are active war zones and lawless regions, they're not the norm, just highly popularized in Western culture.

Liberia is an exception - literally every place in that country is an absolute shithole, to the point where many of its districts of Monrovia are considered the worst slums in the world.

I want to say that we as Americans did wrong by Liberia, but the freed Africans we allowed to settle there enslaved all the neighbors right after they got on the boat, so I don't know what to say about it

Man, this bring back nice memories...

I wonder if you could make that scene work in a tabletop setting ? I'm thinking about making the paper toy a magical item that lets you become a new "you" from a parallel timeline/universe.
Each time you manipulate the paper toy you transform into one of your own alternative identity from a parallel world. You keep your original memories but you also gains the memories of your new self.
You could become a prince of noble blood, an agent of a forgotten god, an immortal barbarian or straight up a lich, a demon or simple undead soldier. All depending on what your other alternative identities are.

You could only use the paper toy once, as soon as you let it go you become that new "individual" but you can never use it again.

Wonder what kind of scenario would bring up the usefulness of something like that. A failed BBEG wanting to become a true demon ? A dying and sickly king looking for a magical cure ? A dragon looking to experience mortal life ?

The more I think about it the less retarded it sounds.
>>49242548 explained it rather well.
There's nothing really cool about a mage who hurl a fist sized rock at the speed of maybe 80km/h (sorry I don't speak imperial) and I'd say that's enough to kill a person.
What would that be in D&D, some basic form of telekinesis?
You'd have to create skills for martials especially to counter magic stuff.
Let's say the mage calls down a meteor. A martial of similar level with a bit of luck should be able to survive that hit.
You're making a tanky warrior? Well I guess you need a skill that let's block that shit with your shield.
I know, that's some animu level of figthing, but probably would be required for martials to go toe to toe with magic users.
Does dodging a meteor sound less or more retarded?

now see the problem with casters isn't damage spells. It's never been damage spells. Those literally don't fucking matter.
>>
>>49243829
>he uses wizards for nuking
This is exactly the wrong way to play a wizard. Why hit someone with a pittance of damage when you can just remove their levels?

?
>>
>>49243939
You're right.
The funny thing is that a wizard levitating upwards sounds better that a DEX fighter jumping from wall to wall and still being able to catch.
And when you think about it they're mostly doing the same thing

> Why hit someone with a pittance of damage when you can just remove their levels?
Holy shit I played a long time ago, I didn't even know magic user could do this.
I guess the fighter would just hit you very hard in the head and give you a life-long concussion. Nothing else I could think of.
This conversation is retarded, I rest my case.

I once picked only the powers I thought were cool, was playing a bard.
I had a spell that ripped your fucking hand off, compelled it to try and strangle you to death. Did I mention that it's also just my friend now? That I can collect relatively high cr monsters refluffed as hands (with a better ac because they tiny)?
We were like lvl 8 or 9.

They've been trying to "fix" fighters with more damage since literally ad&d.
>>
>>49244044
Yeah, 3.x Wizards can basically just give enemies negative levels via rays (which are ranged spells but touch attacks, which means AC from armor doesn't apply!). I think a decent mid-game setup lets you do something like 2d4 negative levels, and more specialized builds can do it to multiple targets.

Fighting men literally cannot compare to how ridiculous that is.

Basically, combat-built fighters do loadsadamage.

But wizards don't care about loadsadamage when they've got save-or-suck, save-or-die, and (ideally) suck-or-die effects they can throw around willy-nilly.

I dont get it.

And they can do everything every other party member can do except quicker. And to balance this the only downside is they have...to sleep every once in a while. Unless they don't because of a myriad magic items available that can completely negate their downtime.

Look up spell glyphs, or as I called them scratch and spells. Holy shit if you can get a few of those on a wizard, or any spell caster (I'm the bard guy). Boom unkillable mega wizard.

A little bit of rudimentary Google-fu that even you should be able to do (unless you're on a phone) leads me to suspect that it's a wax model of a deformed skull, and that the picture was taken in the Musée Dupuytren. Any more than that you'll have to find yourself.
