Force of Will is better in pretty much every situation.

The green pact, on the other hand, searches out a combo piece intended to take over a game when you cheat it into play. On top of that, 1 less CMC to pay during your upkeep if you have to in a color with a metric fuckton of mana dorks.
>>
>>49233682
there's no mana problems on g/w. sure, you take some damage because of it, but only matters against burn and finks can fix most of that damage.

it runs 4 gq with 2 tect edge + loam on the sb, i think that's an amount of ld that matters.

Yeah, you can convert that to modern. There are some Grixis variants, mostly control, that use snapcaster, dank- dwellers and various control spells. Midrange variants use Cletus and it's all fine. Be prepared to drop about 500 bucks for a land base.

>>49238555
Wrong. Copying is the very first layer, so you get a copy of Saheeli before anything is done to her, so the copy isn't an artifact.
>>
>>49238577
It copies all attributes of the target. If the target is an artifact at the time then the copy will also be an artifact.

Type modification comes after copying. That's literally all there is to this.

it's a simple concept. Before you call a judge, talk about layers, post on 4chan, you read the card first.

This shit works because her ability makes it work
>>

>>49238719
Guilty as charged. How embarrassing.
>>
>>49238555
It depends on whether her ability is interpreted as
>copy target artifact [END] or copy a creature; it becomes an artifact

or

>copy target artifact or creature, it becomes an artifact

because the former would only make creature copies also an artifact (and thus it wouldn't work) but the latter always makes it an artifact no matter what you copy

but it's a 3 card combo using indvdually bad cards that dies to bolt so it's unplayable either way
>>
>>49238764
Yeah, it's definitely the latter. It would seem that if you copy an artifact the type-altering part of the ability is just redundant.

Thanks to oversimplified text I'm fairly certain it works.

>>
>>49241919
Can't see why you'd run this. SB Rule of Law if you want to beat storm, this card reads 'gain 5 life' against burn.
>>
>>49241944
His is a one sided effect where as rule of law and eidolon are both. Plus he doesn't read in that sense more, pay 3, negate 5 damage to you, make opponent waste a card, opponent loses 2, at least in the burn matchup he does.
>>
>>49241919
It's just not big enough I think. The effect is not bad since at the very least it also drains 2 when trading 1-for-1 with removal.
It's just that it's a very subpar beater for 3 mana. It doesn't hold up as a blocker or attacker compared to other creatures in Modern.
>>
>>49241992
>negate 5 damage to you, make opponent waste a card
he only does 1 of these things. You don't gain 5 and make the opponent use a bolt, you gain 2 and make the opponent use bolt. If the opponent would prefer to bolt your face that's exactly the same as a gain 5 deal 2 damage spell.
>>

I think it's big enough for a sideboard in Junk or something. It's a free 2 for 1 against burn and counters a lot of Zoo's pump. If they don't deal with it, they can't beat you. If they do deal with it, which they have to, then they burned a card on him and rolled back a bolt (almost)
>>
>>49240894
time to sell my ice bridge i guess
>>
>>49233715
The manabase ends up kind of inconsistent since there's plenty of both colored and colorless mana requirements and fetches are a complete nonbo with Arbiters. Also you'll end up mulling more on top of that because theres plenty of MUs where you just can't afford to be playing a bunch of painlands on the curve.
It's super abusive when you get to go off and your opponent just doesn't get to play, but i ended up going back to monowhite + eldrazi since it can operate at a baseline level much more consistently
>>49233615
>Budget g/w hatebears
There a reason that the tier 2 builds that actually put up results consistently are the white and eldrazi builds. A deck with no card advantage will suffer from having 8 additional dead topdecks once your sitting on top of your curve at 3-4 mana. It also doesn't have as many good ways to interact with a bunch of other decks. It can be way more explosive and end the game a lot sooner but its much more vulnerable to non interactive combos and bad draws
>>
>>49241919

How far do you go when stat-ing your decks?

This is a method where I goldfish for a number of trials keeping track of how much damage done per turn and then averaged.
Then I graph the average and the linear regression/equation. Pic related is for my burn deck; very steady deck. Obviously the caveat for this is the lack of opponent, but in 'gotta go fast: the format' it's good to see how fast a deck can hit for.

>>
>>49245424
Ghost quarter and tec edge. It's also worse if you play it into blood moon as tendo will still get the counter while the new land won't get any energy. Also potentially allows weird situations where you can get fucked by instant speed hand disruption if they know you're color screwed out of something that's played at sorcery speed. Dredge is now back in its proper place as a format bogeyman. It's the deck that gets to sit back, bide its time, and wait for everyone to forget before stealing a major tournament and shaking up everyone's sideboards again.

The reason it's good for MtG to have a bogeyman like this is that it fights against players solving the format. It helps keep things from becoming stagnant and induces "seasons" in the meta.

The deck isn't abusive enough to warrant anything being banned and WotC is conscious enough about format development to know what sort of asset it represents. They're not going to kill it because it's exactly what they want it to be right now.

>>

Why is everyone so damn obsessed with making Delirium work? The deck is literally a worse version on Jund.
>>
>>49250794
Delirium is not a deck, it's a mechanic. And decks like jund have been trying things out, dryad and traverse are pretty decent cards that might find a home in jund or another deck eventually.

Did people forget slaughter games exists? Or any of the other cards that have this same effect? Why are people discussing it like its gonna start hosing certain decks. It's not.
>>
>>49250868
Its faster and easier to cast for Jund (because jund is already setup to power out BB from lili). It could see some SB play, but I doubt any more than that.
>>
>>49250868

So, I am I awful or is Jeskai Nahiri actually pretty difficult to play?

I'm newer to playing playing modern, but been following it for quite a while and I'm a very mid to low level player. But man, I'm not having much success with this deck. The fringe decks just wreck me.
>>
>>49254603
yeah it's one of the more difficult decks

on top of that, playing control in modern is tough because there is a huge amount of viable decks of which 80% are noninteractive racing decks so you need to predict/guess the meta a bit and then when you succeed and control is good for a month you're instantly the format's new Hitler

Only play control in modern if you're really into it and winrate comes secondary
>>
>>49254666
Not getting ancestral T1 and drawing it later feels so fucking bad..
>>
>>49254725
You'd be surprised how often an AV still comes off suspend if you draw it later; it's another challenge of the deck knowing when you should suspend it; the earlier the better of course, but suspending it on turn 2 means you cant hold up countermagic, or sometimes you're on the draw versus a turn 1 manadork with bolt and AV in hand

Nahiri was practically made with AV in mind though, being able to cycle away late copies

MTG RULES CLEARLY STATES THAT THERE CAN NOT BE MORE THAN ONE PLAINSWALKER OF THE SAME TYPE IN PLAY.

306.4. If a player controls two or more planeswalkers that share a planeswalker type, that player chooses one of them, and the rest are put into their owners’ graveyards. This is called the “planeswalker uniqueness rule.” See rule 704.

>>
>>49259550
You're not, I had the idea of trying to make it a deck after Twin got banned (because the biggest counter-argument at the time was "Just play twin instead) but I don't have the cash or events to test the deck out.
Also, you can do it for 4 mana using a Mishra's Bauble or a Gitaxian Probe.
The only real issue I can see with the deck without testing it is that the creature you want to drop is a dead draw if you don't have Fold and a card to counter and that Fold is a combo piece that doesn't do much outside the combo, while both parts of the combo in Twin could get value.

Of course, you could probably even make a deck that's purely built around using the card like you would a Breech or Goryo's.

>>49259654
Dropping Emmy on turn 5 (Or possibly 4) seems pretty close to game winning if you ask me.
Also you're acting like all modern decks win in the first 4 turns, ALWAYS.
>>
>>49259683
If you fail to get Emrakul out then you just two-for-one'd yourself. But if you want a more reliable way then go esper Polymorph + Tokens :^)

>>
>>49259754
Polymorph only demands U & searches your library for Emrakul instead of requiring it to be in hand. The big difference here is that Fold is instant speed, making it much better in the draw-go shell that it wants.
>>
>>49259754
Make a list, test it out and go win a gp with it, but when you scrub out on day one remember, it's not because the card is just bad, but everyone who beat you lived in magical Christmas land.
>>
>>49259848
>Polymorph only demands U
Well, don't most Poly decks use Lingering Souls to get their tokens? That's why I said esper, plus the anon I replied to specified esper polymorph.
>>
>>49259874
Esper is a good wedge for either shell, but that's beside the point. Fold is instant speed, but it requires Emrakul in hand, while Polymorph searches up Emrakul, but is sorcery speed.

It doesn't help that almost all vehicles do nothing when they sit around as artifacts and most of them are just nothing but dumb beaters when they turn into creatures.

The only kind of vehicle I can see having any sort of modern play is if it had good utility as an artifact, did something else on top of turning into a creature, or had Crew 0 so affinity could use their Ornithopters to activate them.

Smuggler's Copter is the closest they've gotten to playable. It won't pan out, but they just barely missed it.

both these shady fucks stood with pucatrade for as long as it could, even after it exploded, until people started complaining about their silence.
>>
>>49265839
They sponsored them, they gave them money or points and then he just completely shit on them. Literally doesn't show any support back.

In the comments he mentions "Things might change in the future". Ya fucking right pucatrade wants anything to do with you now.

I heard some shit about this guy, but man the greed is real.
>>
>>49265968
Who gives a shit about pucatrade?

It's awful
>>
>>49266022
I'm sure a couple people, I don't give a shit if it lives or dies, but the whole thing just seems fucked up to me.
>>
>>49265968
>m-muh trust

it is business, friend. loyalty or w/e has nothing to do with it.
he cant advertise a product that his viewers dislike, it is as simple as that. his viewers have to trust him. he can fuck with his sponsor, not with his clients. grow up kid.
still hate that fat fag though.
>>
>>49263826
I'm proud of your suppression fields but your lack of green disgusts me.
>>
>>49233462
It's seen some play in Turns
>>
>>49262089
Oh no... not you again
>>
>tfw just bought my last two fs goyfs
Oh boy I can't wait to get my rug on
>>
>>49267980
>fs goyfs
based
>>
>>49268078
See, you get it.

Everyone I talk to scoffs and says shit like, when I get my goyfs I'm not gonna skimp out and get the bad art.

Nigga it's superior and it actually costs more
>>
>>49268436
fs goy is the ugliest tho
>>
>>49268546
Embodies the card better with it's ambiguous look.
Also will retain value better
>>
>>49268598
i dont care about value, it just looks cooler.
same with narcomoeba fs.
>>
>>49268598
>will retain value better

That may not actually be true. The better proxies get, the more wary of old Goyfs people might get. Personally, I'd have bought the ones with the stupid little security foil.
>>
>>49268598
>>49268546
It isn't even ambiguous or ugly. Look at a legit one under decent lighting and you'll see the details
>>
>>49267980
fs goyf best goyf

anyone know if grixis delver is worth fooling around with while i save up for goyfs if i want to avoid buying snaps?
>>
>>49270110
play grixis shadow instead. I 6-0d tonight and it was the easiest fnm of my life. none of the games were even close. also, "bolt myself" is a really fun line.
>>
>>49262740
I'd play bogles
>>
>>49270577
i've actually been been running 1 shadow in grixis delver for an hour. nothing like closing out the game with a 12/12.

Are you talking about a tempo shell or just like combo-aggro? I'm wondering if shadow would be reliable enough in conjunction with tasi to turn on stubborn denial. compared with goyf, shadow is still weak to decay but fine against RIP.

>Probably too slow

Affinity doesn't get mana. Affinity has cards. Module wants 3 mana a turn for one counter on one thing. Do you actually think anyone will even try it?

What do you want your curve to be? T1 module t2 hangarback t3 sink your mana into a counter? lmao
>>
>>49271293
>not reading the ability on the module
You don't fucking tap the module for counters, it's so you can pay 1 mana for a 1/1 artifact creature every time you get a counter from other means (i.e. ravager activations, hangarbacks ect.)
>>
>>49270752
I'm playing super aggressive. 16 lands, 4 shadow, 4 kiln fiend, 1 angler. I prefer the extra point of power to the activated ability.
>>
>>49271293
>"Competitive discussion" modern thread
>idiots can't even read the fucking cards they're talking about
Competitive my fucking ass, Spikes are retarded
>>
>>49271471
dang that's gnarly
what kind of interaction are you running?
>>
>>49271551
3 thoughtseize main, 1 side plus 3 inquisition in the side. 4 stubborn denial main. 1 dispel and 1 spellskite side. 4 bolt 2 dismember main, 2 gut shot 2 lavaman side.
>>
>>49271728
sounds pretty sweet. i'd play something like this
>>
>>49271728
You should post list, I'm interested also.

Label your axes
>>
>>49271915
Was this without taking into account your opponent can cast spells too?
What about listing some other decks in the format too instead of just the two fastest decks?
>>
>>49272071
Do you not know what goldfish means?
>>
>>49271915
You know both decks absolutely can't win turn 1 so you should force your trend line to pass through 1,0.
