Hm, my explanation got cut off without my realising it in the OP. The first session was raiding an oil platform turned research outpost. They found all aboard dead, and ended up shotgunning a mysterious figure in black that could vanish into thin air. They retrieved a locked box at the centre of the facility.

>Police investigated, returned without memories of visiting the castle
>Government has stepped in, ordered the police to put up roadblocks and wait
>It's time to deploy
>Players argue over taking Ike, they decide to.

>JTF2 pulls a stun baton and takes a swing at the nearest guy
>Hits, but not enough. The wizard stuns him
>AFSOC doesn't have a stun baton, he does have a knife.
>A brutal fight with the guy who was talking ensues, including a cut-off nose, and a heart stabbing
>Ranger pulls his pistol and starts popping at the guy in the doorway, with some help from his squad they down him
>He tries to cast a spell, but this dislodges bone from his broken rib, which enters his heart and kills him (Don't you love only war crit tables?)
>Rest of the squad turns the guy on the wall to swiss cheese
>AFSOC quickly revives the men who where stunned
>They enter the castle, with Ike's help.
>Searching the library, they find a hidden stairway
>Down it, a small statue on a pedestal. Clear line engraved on the ground in front of it.
>They hesitantly cross the line, everyone makes it across fine. Except Ike
>Ike hits the line like a brick wall
>They retrieve the statue with no small amount of paranoia
>Game ends as they plan for the cleanup crew

Things seem to be going well so far, the statue stops wizardly teleportation, so they'll be considerably safer if they keep it on hand or at the base. Even if they don't actually know what it does.
