Last time Joy keeps working miracles. We look into making super soldiers but find out its never cheap because once they are cheap they cease to be a considered super soldier. Axum keeps running around recruiting help. We finally completed project FFOD(Flying Fortress of DOOM).

By the way, stacks and combos are completely unintuitive. When I hear the word "stack" or "combo" in regards to units I tend towards thinking that means 'stacking' bonuses towards a certain stat that eventually get a result greater than the sum of the parts, or 'comboing' certain stats/abilities for a new and/or multiplicative effect.

Anyway, what's our military position right now? What are the forces surrounding us doing, what are our forces doing, how is the wasteland half of our defenses? What heroes are gone on various errands at the moment and which ones are available for use?

...see this is the sorta thing that is partly why I need to quite civ running until I get better. Fear not anons I will still be in the condition to run ordinary quests instead. As they are pretty laidback and quite easy to do. So I plan to run them until I get better (CIVS) or stop(probably dead or soon to be).

Civ running is a hell of a lot harder running then quests its just quest wise I am more inexperienced in them. Fortunately I got a godly setting to fall back on...

Mirza and the magicians have supposedly found the necromancer. Mostly due to him being based at in the one place they cannot reach. When Mirza finally reached it he found out that apparently knows how to use portals and is fucking sneaky as well apparently being on 'vacation' at some kind of crazy carnival.

Mirza was not amused but everytime he got close the necromancer portaled himself away assuming they even noticed him in the first place.

Strangely the super geniuses don't know much more about him then the ordinary tek bandits do. He is however obsessed with technological progress. Half of the teks are convinced he is rediscovering old knowledge while the other half is convinced he is creating entirely new ones.

The big boss very rarely comes out as thinks that require a super he simply delegates it to the other super geniuses. So its very rare for him to come out. Supposedly he comes out to check out the tower every once in awhile or to pursue some strange lead he is intrigued with. You can tell its him because he takes the greatest number of super soldiers with him on those outings.

He might be tempted if you got something good enough to interest even him or even you make a big enough deal with the tek bandits he'll be drawn out. As it turns out our CEO met the guy before but only briefly.

Marty responds...by oddly enough stopping by Rizal's place before wandering off and returning with a super soldier of the tek bandits.

As of right now, SAL is our current trump card when it comes to searching and locating difficult to find things. However it takes time. So much time in fact that we had to withdraw him from his previous task because it was too long or impossible.

Not to mention Mirza is looking for the Necromancer.

And our own heroes are attempting to search and locate Marty's. . .whatever it is he wants piece for building something to win over the Tek Boss.

Not to mentoin our traders finding more things to win over the Tek Boss too.

We'd LOVE an AI that could help speed up these difficult search and locate actions. A real wizkid when it comes to Where's Waldo. So SAL doesn't take ages but only a couple of turns and we find the things we're looking for quickly. Maybe an AI with a super algorithim for locating difficult to find things.

SAL is good at finding things. But he is slow. Too Slow. Sometimes it takes entire threads for him to find what we need. We even had to withdraw him for the first time because he was taking too long.

We'd like to find a solution to making Sal a good AND fast finder! Turns instead of threads, or maybe even a single turn.

Marty says that old world data can be used to find things faster. But old world tech is rarely intact. However, Magic has not been lost! And it can detect more than just other things, including tech.

HOPE...does indeed come up with a solution...sort of. What hope did was the questionable act of digging through those old world sources despite the problems. HOPE was oddly resistant to it and even more strangely was capable of processing them into a form that was both useful AND safe for others.

What was even better was it turned out that among those old world systems and tech...not all of it was shutdown. Some of it was still operational enough to collect data even now. Problem is the data is even more scrambled, disjointed, and seemingly random then the old world sources, but it DOES contain info of the Post Fall world. Which does have its potential uses...so long as we can make sense of it anyway.

As he was actually looking FORWARD to facing off against a fucking Fallbringer...something about it being awhile and him being bored. Admittedly a big part was the AMAZING pies and awesome show.

Mizra has acquired MAD MAGIC ability and Fireworks Finale ability. The first is self explanatory...as for the second in exchange for making himself a bigger target he can either boost morale AND counts as a rally OR he can target another force causing them to be especially 'highlighted'. Apparently its more then just making them a bigger target if what he claim is true...

Marty meanwhile builds quite the insanely impressive fireworks display. Even our artillery took part in it for putting on the show...and it REALLY impressed people. Almost as much as the show between Joy and Mirza.

As for our advertisers and market specialists...they boarded some trains never to be heard from again. At least for now anyway...it doesn't help those trains are strange so most comms are nigh useless on them.

The necromancer seems to have brought his own forces...an assortment of undead and few other necromancers with him. He admits to not entirely sure of what Skellers full abilities are and his full abilities are unknown to us...more due to how scanners simply being unable to penetrate his shroud.

All readings come back claiming he is either isn't there, dead, or undead. Not a single live reading in sight...

As for brood improvement...it has 0 effect on him. To such a degree Rizal was creeped out by him and Jazri was fullblown scared of the guy. As for improving he says necromancy is largely useless against the brood due to their recycling capability and willingness to sacrifice remains(somewhat) to deny necromancers.

Necromancy against one assumptions was actually quite weak against the Brood. Which doesn't explain why Jazri is so scared of him...

Well, even empty air can be detected as something with fine tuned sensors. Sound waves bounce off the ground in sonar, or even the very molecules of the air can be detected.

So, if we fine tune our sensors, what we have is a hole of "nothing" surrounded by a backdrop of "something."

Why not program a sensor to inverse the readings and give us an outline of this nothing? It's akin to say, inversing the color of a photo so black becomes white, or being able to detect dark matter in space by how it affects gravity. A work around to scanning Skeller and what he is doing by outlining his nothingness."

There has been an idea regarding MMOs bumping around in Genie's head for some time. Only recently has it gotten any good. Technically not directly related but they are.

In genieverse there is such thing as places rich in magic and not...it is what allows shit to go down in sci fi time in such an amazingly awesome(you gotta admit magitech, hard tech, and magic facing off in sci fi is awesome).

However a certain thought occured to the Genie...what if its possible for magic to not stay poor or rich? What if sometimes...it shifts?

HOW then can one best prepare their world for the change?

The answer was games.

No one would obviously believe you...but if you say put all that into a game...it is naturally going to be quite popular yes?

All those who played it would be much better off when the shift occurs. They'll also possibly be horrorified and think that maybe the game BECAME reality...but that isn't quite true yet it is.

So in some parts of genieverse that is exactly what happened. It was a problem that bothered the Genie for many years before i came up with the solution.

Used to be one of my top problems.

A BIG part why the simulation is so good is because of magic+its much more real then people realize. The tech for it is literally magitech which is why everybody else has failed miserably to reverse engineer for the longest time(remember these worlds were previous tech heavy worlds they didn't have much experience with magic until then...and these worlds are generally Pre Sci Fi). Which drives the competition insane because they cannot pull off such a realistic vivid simulation with its own history(which is based heavily upon the world's ancient magical history).

A lot of the stuff you learn in game actually DOES have effect real life(especially has the magic surges become stronger and stronger). Those kinds of games were literally invented to help during the transition process and reintroduce old stuff that was previously lost.

Should a game reach sci fi there is a lot of talking about those strange games and where they came from, because they keep showing up in different worlds. The games are somewhat different(to coincide with the different world histories) but the engines they use are oddly similar.

A lot of people want to know the truth behind the games creators because of the massive influences they have had and lives saved because of it.

One of the Genie's biggest problems ended up turning into something unexpectedly like and is a really fucking cool. Only problem is I have been having a hard time fluffing out those creators because its hard to give them the justice they deserve...

So its this big honking mystery to both the tech worlds and the magic worlds.

Problem is I haven't solved what they would do if the world's tech hasn't reached the point to allow such games...

As for clashes between magic and tech worlds...most of the stuff I have is sci fi based when they basically tend to run into each other. I mean if they didn't before that is when its going to happen no matter what.

As for before that...basically the only chance it can happen is if magic surges OR you got one of those fancy still operational portals attached to different worlds. At that point its a rather tricky problem because it greatly depends on the level of tech and what's the magic like.

Which basically makes it very...well tricky and easily biased. In sci fi I heavily bullshit a lot of it with various scientific breakthroughs and new materials they get to play with(thank god for black matter as a bullshit source of exotic matter).

While it IS an amazing concept...its an extremely hard concept to write. This is coming from the Genie who for shits and giggles made his setting extend from ancient fantasy to sci fi.

I find that what is important for that sorta writing is better idea of military tech(which largely means historic due to all the restrictions being lifted so you actually can get an idea of it) and a thorough understanding of the magic you will have facing off against it.

Problem is its very easy for it to get unbalanced. One problem I ran into is the tech world's massive advantage in sheer population. Even with magics capable of boosting yields and protecting harvest its really not easy to compete with industrial farming.

Its tricky to figure out.

Let's press on with trying to win over the Tek Bandits with the promise of fantastical brood tech.

Have Rizal specifically make Biotechs doing things that only biology can solve and tech can not do alone.

Now that Mirza and Joy are young, get some fresh young recruits (Male & Female) and train them to be MAD MAGI apprentices, males trained by Mirza, females by joy
They are strongly encouraged to pair up and protect their uh...student partner! This way they can learn by example of our mad magical duo. also so they have a reason to protect each other and ensure survival at least the girls protect the guys
