Is this any good /tg/?
And for that matter...

...what about this?
Iron Heroes is a beautiful clusterfuck of good ideas with awful execution.
I love what it tries to do, and the attempts it makes to make mundane melee combat interesting and fun in the d20 framework, but it's still unbalanced as fuck, full of broken options and generally rough around the edges. I have a lot of respect for what it tried to do, but I can't call it a success.

Not OP but I too am interested in /tg/'s thoughts on Arcana evolved.
Why did Mearls go from trying to make martials good in 3e,to shitting them up in Essentials and 5e?

He tried to make them good to create parity with casters which culminated in 4e but then 4e was horribly received so he was forced to backpeddle?

Yes, but Arcanist class is both overly complicated and poorly explained. The game attempts and somewhat succeeda on making martials moire varied and interesting to play.
Ran a longterm game of this, ask me anything.

Pretty much this. The book can be described as an admirable effort.
It's a bit less busted than 3.PF, probably because there's less of it, so if you're used to running/playing that you could make it work. But it falls short of actually being "good".

4e. Not even once.

I seem to recall is also recomends it not being played, so instantly half the group wants to be one.
