Is Malice still canon in 40k

Kinda sorta. The Sons of Malice still exist de facto (as there is a Fire Raptor Gunship in their colors in IA13) and nothing has outright overridden it, but it has never been expanded upon since.

They exist, but the primary issue is malice is a minor chaos god. And GW only cares about the big 4. However the sons of malice could be interesting enemies due to what we know about them. Which is still more than we know about the fucking alpha legion.

I don't have it on me, but it's in the Fire Raptor entry of IA13, which if you want to you can get in the 40K general. They're not NAMED the Sons of Malice in there, but it's their color scheme and symbol, and the book goes out of its way to mention that the skulls and helmets mounted on the hull are almost exclusively from other Chaos Space Marines.

Malice is Malal and Malal is the Fifth God. The god that fights the other four. Because a fundamental aspect of Chaos is, erm, chaos; and a chaotic thing is a self-destructive thing. Malice/Malal IS that chaotic self-destructiveness.

Except this is completely unecessary because every Chaos God is self destructive. And Malice is not a Chaos God, he literally gets no mention in the Chaos Daemons codex and has only showed up in a short story where he appears no powerful than a daemonhost. There are only four gods of chaos.

Each god represents a unique aspect of Chaos - they do NOT share aspects. Therefore, they cannot all represent self-destructiveness. Self-destructiveness (like all the other aspects of Chaos) is a unique province of one god. In this case, Malal, the fifth. No redundancy - a necessary part of Chaos to accurately reflect how Chaos actually works. Khorne has no desire to fail; Slaanesh has no desire to be without experience; Tzeentch has no desire to stop plotting; Nurgle has no desire to end. Malal wants all these things. Malal is necessary for the explanation of Chaos eating itself. If Malal was not constantly at the other gods' throats, forcing them to fight each other, the four gods would happily ignore each other and carve up reality at their whim.
Nobody talks about him because Chaos hates him and has no use for him; and 'tha good guys' can't handle the idea of chaos as an ally.

That's utterly wrong. There is massive overlap between the Gods' domanins. Especially within the domain of Slaanesh since anyone who shows an intense passion or follows a particular god with excessive zeal is technically behaving in a Slaaneshi fashion. Hence why the other Gods fear her ultimately eclipsing them. Chaos being a Pantheon is all that is needed for Chaos to be Chaotic and self defeating. The four Gods having their own agendas and wants makes them inherently self destructive as a whole without Malice's help or influence.

No one talks about Malal because Malal does not exist anymore.

They do, the various powers overlap and other gods spawn from there.

Except the Gods each wish total dominance, they are no happy when another gods gets to have nice things.

Nobody talks about him because he's an almost prehistoric piece of fluff, whose departure mattered not at all and who GW cannot legally use.

Malalfags are the absolute worst people.

Want special rules in FFG 40k games and the shit they give you a set of homebrew rules from somewhere (that are overpowered as fuck of course) when you say you're not allowing someone to be aligned to malal to try and get you to see things their way.

Always talk about how much cooler malal is that other gods and how much stronger his warriors are and go into surprisingly great depth for a guy with little to no mention.

Also tend to be edgy and under the age of 18.
