I doubt it's 40k Ahriman or TS sorcerer in general. For Ahriman there's a ton of details that are totally different and I don't think any 40k TS nor Ahriman himself have TS legion logos on them, which this models has plenty.

Maybe the rumors of BaC 2: BaC Harder being set on Prospero are being confirmed? That would mean the other character will be a Space Wolf one. Hopefully the stock models will be generic.

The TS don't have rules yet, do they? I think I have the most up to date red book and they are not there.

I also means that we don't know which armor they wear? I would say mark IV. Given that we have a dead corgi in mark III, is it possible that the Y@P box actually brings mixed armors?
>>

Nobody knows yet, obviously, but there has been mentions of recycled MKIV.

It's a reference to an old thread where one anon was adamant it's going to be MkIVs because then it's consistent with GW's HH releases and they could never do MkIII in plastic, it would be just too demanding to get all the FW details right.

Lorgar and Magnus were on good terms and Ksons were a small legion to begin with, so supplying them with the newest marks was the least issue. They also had the forge world Achaea produce for them, and Achaean pattern armour is mk4 variant.

Or just don't do what FW does. GW MkIV didn't do FW's skinny legs nor the stupid looking helmet design they had in the kit.

If they could do plastic MkIII backpacks in 2e, they cna do them today. They might not be FW backpacks, but neither are FW backpacks plastic GW backpacks from 2e. So who's doing it wrong by not following the other to the letter?
>>
>>48951367
And GW could only sell to 2 factions. Then again, the fact that they already did a legion specific character (where as the BaC ones are generic as well), doesn't bode well.
>>
>>48951211
>>48951222

And that is what I want to do too. My main issue is that, while in B@C you have only mark IVs, thus allowing you to make almost anything, here you may (oor may not) mixed marks.

I really want to build an army using IIIs but sadly I'm sort on money and FW resin is a bit too much, while a 30 armor (+extras like other models and such) even if in plastic, is a better deal.

I'm between TS because I must be the only person who likes Magnus and DG because sick colors. The first would go mostly on IV with a few extra bits from other armors while DG mkIIIs are downright sick.

tl;dr: being poor sucks and I don't want to chinaman.
>>
>>48951394
Epic bait brosef!!

Just as many people complain about the FW legs being skinny as the GW legs being static.

By your reasoning we had MKIII all along and should just use the plastic Berzerker kit. Some people might have ghetto standards, but not everyone.

GW made the MKIV kit a little more bland, but they had a lot less room to screw up.

>>48951460

Because they can't find the middle ground. FW's are indeed too skinny, but GW's are too thick when compared to other plastic marines.

Try harder doing what? I've said it is unlikely to see a 1:1 replica of MKIII in plastic, or an improvement like the MKIV was in many ways, ESPECIALLY their backpacks. You keep saying "m-m-muh rubbish 2nd ed", which doesn't have the fans sticking out along the sides. They've not fundamentally changed the way they make miniatures since then, they've just refined it.

Unless they carve it into tons of tiny pieces they're going to compromise on the details. What is even the point then? You might as well just use MKVII because it's close enough.

If they have managed to put out something that looks good, I'd be as happy about it as anyone could be, but I want to see the kit before I'm convinced.

What are you smoking? Put them next to the MKVI and MKVII legs and they have very similar thickness to them. The MKIV ones from the Tac squad might be slightly thinner compared to the Calth ones but that's about it. Aside from the kneepads being wider and the added studs it's very close.

>Since the days of the VIth Legion's inception on Terra, it has remained a Legion apart from its fellows, its origins shrouded as it garnered a fearsome reputation for its warriors' prowess as a shock-assault force as well as tireless pursuers and a peerless hunter-killer force. Unexpected violence was the Legion's calling card, its campaigns unsubtle, but brutally swift. Like their latter-day namesakes, the wolves of old Terra, its warriors' assaults are calculated exercises in ferocity, aimed to tear and rend until the foe lies in ruins or is driven to its death.

>Conditioned to hold a near-suicidal disregard for danger and trained to exploit this to the fullest on the battlefield, the heavy infantry that form the core of the Legion's battalions are a force that has been honed in battle against the countless enemies of Mankind and, it is whispered, against their own wayward brothers. For, unlike their brother Legions, the Space Wolves were kept under the tight control of the Imperial Court and unleashed at the Emperor's command as often to chastise those who would renege on their oaths of service as to destroy those who resisted the offer of Compliance.

Inferno can't be released soon enough.

The most recent story that concerns with the Wolves' first encounter with the Rubricae, it is post-Heresy. "The Hunt for Magnus", I think.
In short, the presume the Thousand Sons destroyed and are horrified when they learn what has become of them.

>>48952912
I'll have to check the Index Astartes, but I think Magnus teleports the legion to Sortiarius post-Prospero in the old lore as well.
But in the old lore, the Thousand Sons participate at Isstvan V so yes, the lore's changed a lot as the flesh change has returned while in IA it say Tzeentch shielded them from mutation for some time after the Heresy was put down.
Maybe we'll have Rubricae during the Heresy this time, and it wouldn't surprise me since they are the only god-specific legion that wouldn't get their god-specific stuff if FW goes by the old lore.

Every orbit is elliptical, and in cosmic term, "nudges" are tremendous. We're struggling to figure out how to nudge small asteroids out of earth's path, and that's asteroids that are 10km in diameter. Bodt's moon is spherical, which means it's big - the only asteroid in the Solar System massive enough to be spherical is Ceres, which is 950km in diameter. A nuclear arsenal capable of wiping clean the surface of Bodt might only deflect its moon enough to cause problems in millions of years. It'd be a slow event, starting with increasingly closer orbits and tidal effects ruining the surface. Everything would be dead long before impact.
>>

I’ve never seen a SW player that lived up to the negative stereotypes, and the BL novels (30k at least) weren’t bad. I only share the common complaint that the 40k SW were overly wolfified, but it sounds like FW isn’t going to repeat that mistake.
>>
>>48953441
I'm withholding on them because of the rules, but at least I know that bolter tacticals are the likeliest way to go. Although, scrolls and parchments are good to go even on non-psykers as the legion was obsessed with every piece of knowledge, not just the sorcery.
Not trying to be too critical, but I find your main colour in that spot where I don't want mine to be - I'll go either more to the scarlet with gold trim or crimson with white trim as on the cover of "A Thousand Sons".

It's interesting that people seem much more interested in Praetorian than they were with Angels of Caliban.
>>
>>48957707
I assume it's because we finally get information about those Alpha Legion fucks. Alpharius seems to be the least liked brother ever, where the only person who ever loved him was his twin.
>>
>>48957707
HH Dark Angels just aren't very compelling, imo. Dull color scheme shared with two other loyalist legions, no secrets yet (their "thing" in 40k), no presence in the FW books yet, and their first BL novel wasn't bad, but it wasn't what anyone wanted at the time. Fallen Angels was alright, but then it took years to give them part 3 of their story. Too long.

There are a lot of IF players, and this is a clear progression into the next phase of the war. Also, John French's other works are great. I'm a fourth of the way into this book and I can already recommend it, even if you have to actually pay for it. I'll probably buy it just for French's sake.

Why Guilliman is associated with Cena?

>It's interesting that people seem much more interested in Praetorian than they were with Angels of Caliban.
probably because it's a more interesting book than the third dark angels book where nothing happens

WHY CANT PEOPLE IN THIS FUCKING GENERAL PAINT EXPENSIVE RESIN MODELS!?

I painted my minis that badly when I was 11 bu that was on much cheaper models. You're ruining the miniature with such a shit paintjob. Did you actually bother to watch painting tutorials and read guides? You should be ashamed of yourself.
>>
>>48957312
Why must the bad guys be ugly and have bad-guy names? The only WB who supposedly looked like a good guy was Lorgar the Aurelian (golden one).
But is "Kor Phareon" an evil name? I thought it meant Heart Pharaoh.
>>

Why do you think all these crack-ridden coonfags are so obsessed with chinamen? Don't even have airbrushed I bet.

>>
>>48957927
They are significantly less expensive recast. I've watched guides and following a guide I began painting my first model.
>>
>>48957927
I'll withhold judgment on that mini until we get a better photo. Metallic minis and flash photography don't mix. Not to mention turning our heads sideways is annoying and makes us hate the paintjob. But it looks painted cleanly enough.
>>
>>48957976

Then Guilliman did a CIA on him.

>Why must the bad guys be ugly and have bad-guy names?
BL writers lack subtlety?

>Kor Phaeron
>Heart Pharaoh
Maybe if it was "Kordis" or "Korazon," but the lone syllable "Kor" for me is not in itself evocative of positive feelings. It brings to mind names like "Melkor" and words like "corrupt," possibly just because of the hard consonant usage. Combined with the surname "Phaeron," it sounds very much like a Saturday morning cartoon villain's moniker even without knowledge of Warhammer.

Kor means “ember” in Turkish, “sightless” in Zazaki, an obscure language found in part of Turkey, and if you spell it with a c, cor means “heart” in Catalan. I don’t think it was picked based on meaning – just sounded cool. And maybe a little evil. Star Trek named a Klingon “Kor”.

The Wikipedia article on “Urizen” left me dazed and confused.
>>
>>48958880
I quite enjoy Colchian names.

Doesn't it?
Maybe they did simply pick it for the evil K sound.
After all, it'd be weird to hear about traitor Magneric and loyal KalKator.

Anon, that actually makes sense when used in the context of Lorgar.
>>
>>48958955
>In the complex mythology of William Blake, Urizen /ˈjʊrᵻzən/ is the embodiment of conventional reason and law.
>In Blake's original myth, Urizen, the representation of abstractions and an abstraction of the human self, is the first entity.
>In terms of Blake's Orc cycle, Urizen serves as a Satanic force similar to Milton's Satan.

Those sound contradictory to my feeble mind. But if you read the rest of the article there are a lot of parallels to Lorgar and 40k's rendition of Chaos.

Incidentally, for you BFG players out there:
>Urizen has clear similarities with the creature called the Demiurge by Gnostic sects
Demiurg!

They must have. There's just too much in common: he writes a book of sins, Los appears to watch over Urizen and oppose him (Guilliman?), he imposes his laws on a tribe and their society crumbles (the Israelites, oddly enough).

>He is said to represent the Heavenly host, but he experiences a Satanic fall in that he desired to rule. He is motivated by his pride and becomes a hypocrite.

>Within the early works, Urizen represents the chains of reason that are imposed on the mind. Urizen, like mankind, is bound by these chains. Additionally, these works describe how Newtonian reason and the enlightenment view of the universe traps the imagination. The poems emphasis an evolutionary development within the universe, and this early version of a "survival of the fittest" universe is connected to a fallen world of tyranny and murder.

>Urizen is described as having multiple books: Gold, Silver, Iron, and Brass. They represent science, love, war, and sociology, which are four aspects of life.

Were all of the Ultramarines stuck inside the Ruinstorm's borders due to the Calth muster or is it plausible for a few companies to have gotten caught outside due to being tied up with other campaigns outside Ultramar?

It's a WIP, m8. I'll get it done. I still need ideas though. The personality trait table should probably include automatic results due to the legion of origin playing a part in it, but I don't want people to always get egotistical EC or sadistic NL. Maybe some NLs just flay because Curze is around and its potato salad day at the mess hall. Can't get potato salad if your dad flays you instead.

I'm looking at Tempest now and some of the chapters didn't show up at full 10,000. Tempest accounts for about 180,000 of the supposedly 250,000-strong smurfs. Some may have been elsewhere in Ultramar, but to be missing 70,000 seems a bit off. That's 7 full chapters' worth of dudes missing or dead at the time of the muster. Would the smurfs need that many to just hang around garrisoning the rest of Ultramar?
>>
>>48959975
It's all cool mate! I'd say don't go for automatic results, because then you'll have your outliers in the fluff like the Brave NL guy, or the Cowardly IF guy.

Maybe something like Legion Preferred result that auto defaults to one option? Like say you roll on the table and you end up with Legion Preferred or whatever you want to call it, then you look at the chart and see which one your legion is listed as having a preference/default for, if you know what I'm trying to say?
>>
>>48960132
>Cowardly
>marines knowing fear
I have using the tables from the humbling KE generator as those are needed for this. Maybe add a science table so people can roll up marines with knowledge on physics? Maybe something trivial like does your legionary just know when there is potato salad in the area?

Yeah, cowardly. Besides, marines only have ATSKNF in 40k.
