Hello /tg/. I'm wondering who you think would win in a war between the Tau Empire and the Covenenant Empire at its height. Both use powerful technology, and incorporate other races into their empires, but I'm not sure who would win in a hypothetical war between the two.
One and only bump

Nobody knows, that's why its hypothetical you silly goose.
>>48870594
Space Marines eat brains to absorb memories.
>>48871694
That's what your mom told me when she ate my dick.
>>48871731
I'm sorry you're now dickless because my mom was hungry. I hope you enjoy having to sit to piss.
>>48870594
All the Tau have to do to win is hand the Covenant the keys to a Halo array and let them set it off. Bam. They just genocided themselves.
>>48871749
Jokes on you i always sit when i pee. Ha. Ha.
>>48871820
Of course you do, you're missing a dick.
>>48871851
Yeah, but this one is on you. Why didn't you told me that your whore of a mother is also a eat dicking Striga.
>>48871895
It's your fault for failing at necromancy so hard you forgot she'd follow orders literally when you'd say "eat my dick".
>>48871806
Covenant can't set them off without humans involved, which was why they were butthurt and killing humanity
>>48871946
>failing at necromancy so hard
YOU SOUND LIKE MY FATHER!!! I HATE YOU!
>>48871991
I can't believe you didn't even manage to dispel the spell keeping your father undead.
>>48872031
And to think i could become a Bright Wizard.
Fuck.
>>48870594
/tg/ for the most part hates Halo, so any Halo OP is going to be trolled on sight.
I'm guessing the Covenant get owned.
>>48870594
Probably the Tau. The Covenant explicitly are playing with toys they don't understand, whereas the Tau developed their shit from the ground up.
One-on-one an Elite would curbstomp a Tau, though. Elites probably have statlines p. similar to a Space Marine.

>not realizing that modern science suggests this may actually be possible in the future
They've discovered that memories can actually be "imprinted" on a brain to a certain extent, even after death. Theoretically, you can view the last few moments of a persons life after they've died (if their brain is in good enough condition) but we have yet to do this at any meaningful level. It's being worked on, though.
Also, even in 40K that ability is very rarely used, poorly understood at best, can sometimes take up to a week to work, and almost universally viewed as extremely taboo (barring Blood Angel successors).

I'm inclined to agree, though I think the Covenant would have an edge in space. On the ground, the Tau would win more times than lose, because they have adaptive tactics and better vehicles. Elites would outclass your average fire warrior though.

Yeah, my understanding is that the Tau fleets are still *mostly* upgunned merchant and colony ships, with true warships being a relatively new development. They have relatively impressive missiles, and output in the 40k universe is grossly exaggerated, but their most-impressive weapons are basically the spinal-mounted MAC guns humanity has in Halo.
