Stromgarde got wrecked after the scourge swept through Lordaeron. A mix of Alterac bandits, Ogres and Forest Trolls took their capital and scattered its people.

During Cata the living prince was raised into undeath by Sylvanas and was part of her campaign to take Arathi Highlands. During Legion we learn through the DK order hall campaign that the Forsaken took over Stromgarde and Prince Trollbane wields Trol'kalar let broke away from Sylvanas and hte Forsaken. When the Dks came to "ask" for his fathers corpse and for him to wield Trol'kalar we learn that the former king from WC2 had him assasinated during the events of WC3.

TLDR, Arathi Highlands is nothing but a undead kingdom that may or may not be swallowed up by Sylvanas' Forsaken at a later date.

Originally, it was going to be right at the reopening of the Dark Portal with TBC, but it's been rolled back a bit to around the tail end of vanilla WoW.

Though it's an AU campaign, so a few details are intentionally changed. The factions aren't as unified, with the night elves, forsaken and Quel'thalas are all separate from the Alliance and Horde, Gilneas having crawled out from behind the wall earlier, and the diplomatic situation being more complicated.

As someone unfamiliar with the setting's lore but familiar with WoW at a casual level (haven't played the RTS games and thus don't have the main storyline and basically gleaned my understanding from playing during BC and WotLK in high school), I've got a question.

So, sun walkers are Tauren Paladins. How does that work? How does blizz fluff plains-tribe-pastiche Paladins? Because the idea appeals to me greatly.

It's ridiculously easy to level alts with invasions. It slows down somewhat at 90+, but it's still worth it.
Also, that sweet, sweet loot; I leveled a MM hunter from 64 to 100 in less than a week, hoarding the rewards chests. Yesterday, I opened all of them at once and, in less than 3 minutes, went from an ilvl of 570ish to 710 thanks to warforged gear and weapon upgrades.

They're not writing it though. A renowned childrens book author is (whose name escapes me admittedly). The story is about a young boy who is shipwrecked and has to find his way home, he has a little book that he draws what he see's in it. WoD Durotan's backstory is one of my favorite depictions of orcs in the setting.

They have a blood rage as a defense mechanism, because they're in a world full of giant monsters and ogres out to kill them, but they work to keep it under control and not give in to it. Durotan not being able to stop himself from killing his mother's wolf is clearly the greatest shame of his life, which he doesn't try to hide or justify.

Which is a hell of a lot better than the brown orc warmongering for justifying Thrall's "noble savage" claims. Such a shame they got overshadowed by Garrosh "SHOULDERS" Hellscream and his love affair with the old Horde.

It's also why I like Saurfang: He clearly doesn't see the first and second war as glamorous, because it fucking wasn't.

Yup, the pre-raid event was the entire server gathering and turning in mats to Org/SW (cloth/ore/etc) until we had enough for an army. Then once someone had also completed a scepter you could ring the gong, and open the raids, but when the gate opened you also had at least 6 hrs, and upwards of 15 on some servers of invasions by the qiraji into Silithus complete with 1 time world raid bosses, turnins that netted massive rep for the time (one was like 1500 Booty Bay) and the server crashing every 5 minutes because everyone was in one zone at the same time. It was basically a stress test they didn't learn their lesson on, made the same mistake a year later with Hellfire, and the fact it had some great rewards that were likely gone because you were asleep at 4am while the event was still going on was shitty. Still maybe the best world event they've ever done, and people ask all the time for more similar to it, but the closest we've gotten is stuff like battlefield barrens, or the current invasions.

You build stacks of Insanity now and get a SSJ2 Shadow Form now, which activates when you hit 100, letting you do cool shit.
It drains more the longer it's active, so you have to struggle to keep it running.
One of the final talents you can pick is Surrender to Madness, which cranks up your Insanity production up through the power of the Old Gods, but as soon as you leave Voidform you die. Horribly.
Haven't gotten a chance to try it yet, but it looks pretty fun.

Not very bright and rather a fan of druidic herbal supplements, didn't lose anyone to the war of the ancients but mom wanted you out of the treehouse and all the cool kids were becoming demon hunters so you kinda succumbed to peer pressure. Got the tats, did the eye thing (ouch) and kinda got wrapped up in the moment then all of a sudden you're in mardum living it up with your buds and the next thing you know illidan is dead, you're breaking out of jail and forced to pick between your two best buds and this funny looking human dude is telling you he needs your help saving other human dudes from evil demon dudes

I'm thinking replacing druidic herbal supplements with bloodthistle will do. And say his folks were high elves that didn't get into the whole mana draining thing that Kael advocated. Samwise already described blood elves as rock stars of WoW, so this should be easy. Your overall idea is exactly what I'm thinking.
