Is there any good homebrew for playing a Kobold in the Fifth Edition of Dungeons and Dragons?
I remember seeing resources in a Google Doc at one point for balancing your own homebrew races, at the very least. Can anyone offer a helping hand, here?

Just re-skin Gnomes, granting Draconic instead of Gnomish.

+2 int? That doesn't fit my image of kobolds at all.

Unearthed Arcana has a Kobold race if I remember correctly.

They're great at designing and building traps. Wouldn't the design be INT? Or is it closer to WIS?

iirc there's a UA planned to be released by the end of the year that will include beast races. Hell, it might be in Storm King's Thunder.

Then the fire cutebold I like to do as a fire mage would fit it even less.
Basically he is a very cute dog man that looks like a five year old dog kid cause small race and charisma bonus.
He razes a whole town, the party still doesn't take him seriously.
Worse, the cute bonus is a race thing due to being breed hundreds of years ago by a crazy dog themed witch.

It would most likely be INT now, coupled with artisan tools proficiency instead of a skill bonus. Crafting is a bit open-ended compared to earlier editions and there's no specific suggested roll for trap-setting. My personal rule would be if you're setting a trap as a way to out-smart an intelligent adversary, I would add your INT bonus to the trap DCs 8 + tool prof + INT mod, WIS to notice, INT to deduce method of disabling, and DEX to disable. I'd put traps solely intended to gather food as an aleady included part of a Wis(Survival) check, though.

dogbold pls go
op wants real kobolds
OP, in the mega in the 5e general, there's a 3rd party pdf called Midgard Heroes. It features a kobold playable race. From what I understand kobold press stuff is extensively playtested, so it's probably your best option right now.

There's a few choices on DM's Guild, but hopefully the Volo's Guide coming out will include them.
