Are Model Railways /tg/ worthy?

As soon as you get fun YES
No rules for it so it would fall more under toy even though the crowds are mutually exclusive.
I remember trying to have some RC discussions but toy is nothing but action figure and lego central

or dead but hey whatcha gonna do
Remote controlled tank battle wargames getting popular when?
That's an interesting question because modeling is quite related to /tg/ if by miniature war gamin alone, but the funny thing is that those who participate in this hoppy often refuse to admit these miniatures are "toys". Yet you are being told that your motorized highly detailed and probably self painted hobby items are not /tg/.
There's is a crossover, but I guess untl you figure out how to be competitive or cooperative in a train building game model trains can't be /tg/.
However your models are much cooler than a 20$ grey unpainted unglued together plastic piece, and they probably are self motive.
Do this, roll a dice to determine what car will be attached next, then make save checks against a derailment, you /tg/ nao

Miniatures have a lot of distinctions compared to toys. Same way you don't call your grandma's tiny figure collection miniatures.
The intent and market is way different
RIP Grandad. Still miss you.
I dunno, but I love this shit. I've been trying to restore my dad's old electric train for the last ten years or so.
I finally repaired the motor, and the coal tinder (Old lionel, the whistle is in the coal tinder) Cleaned the old smoke pellet heater, found smoke pellets, and properly lubricated the drive, it's loud as shit, but it runs for the first time since I was maybe six years old (and when it ran then it barely did so)

>Buying drastically overpriced miniatures
>Spending hours locked in a dark room assembling and painting
>Moving them in circles as a form of childhood nostalgia
Has GW heard of this?
>>48848375
Yes, it was called specialist games
So wait these guys buy plastic, spend hours painting it and miss out on the two hours or arguing over rules?

There are all kinds of model train competitions, from the fastest, to most torque/power, to best scenery and design. Hell there is even a committee in my state that holds a garden scale competition judged at contestants homes to see how the train and scenery fit the entrant's property and the theme for that year. A dude by my parents house has a massive town I his garden complete with a scale size railyard and car barn.

More tg than the Jojo threads that are just anime discussions that pop up sometimes.
>>48846265
I'm pretty sure it's fair game for the /wip/ threads. Not sure about what there really is to talk about it though
>>48848453
Well, see then it is /tg/
>>48848026
don't bully
>>48848212
I miss you too.
>>48846265
/tg/ relevant? Yes. A lot of /tg/ is only tangentially related to gaming.
But I wouldn't expect a ton of enthusiasts here.
>>48846265
It's /toy/ senpai
Lots of doddering old retards trying their hardest to make sure no one too young or "casual" develops an interest in their hobby while the industry that supplies them slowly chokes to death around them? Sounds very relevant.

Why is that guy painting his model train while it's still on the tracks? If he fucks up, he's getting paint on his scenery.
>>48850832
Are you talking about trains or GW?
>>48846265
>I'm going to be playing a Monorail, Cargo Subtype
>I get a model bonus of +5 to moving cargo
>I can't take a caboose for the extra AC but my class let's me move 50 extra mph a turn
It is now

I use my Model Railway as a Wargame Board for my Flames of War. It's deliberately built to be a 15mm WWII Battlefield as well as a Model Railway. My trains are from the Deutsches Reichbahn as well.
