Still no release date for the Skorne/Ios/Goreshade novel. Anyone else really want this book to come out already? I need to know what the hell happened with these three groups. Especially since Divine Intervention was mentioned.

Trying to get anons at my LGS into Warmahordes. The LGS owner has a hands off policy of "Until X people ask me to stock something, I'm not buying anything related to it." So for testing purposes, I'm going to have to buy two of the battlegroups to teach people how to play, get them interested.

What would be two good groups to start with? I'd prefer to do Warmachine v Warmachine, or Warmachine v Horde. Not so much Horde v Horde.

I still haven't had a chance to get a Mk 3 game in yet but I recently picked up the Ret BB, a Soulless Escort, Soulless Voidtracer, & Lanyssa.

I really like Hellyna on paper. Anyone have any early mk3 experiences they want to share?

Helynna is a beast, but she needs two things to be the beast she dreams to be.
1. An Arc Node
2. Sylys the Warcaster attachment

With Sylys he upkeeps RoW for her then applies his buff to her every turn

This leaves her with all 7 focus to spend. 3 for Deceleration vs armies it matters on and 4 to spend on an Oblit or on a boosted Hand of Destruction.

Oblit wont always get to shine, but the fear of it will change how your opponent advances and clusters his shit. For example a spread out Strider unit wont be as big a threat because they wont all be in range to shoot a target.

Hand of Destruction+Manticore shooting is fucked up. I aimed, got 3 shots, pointed em all at a crusader, boosted damage on all three, had Hand of Destruction on said Crusader, and broke the movement as well as a good number of hull boxes. It was brutal.

Then Rhythem of war can keep your arc nodes and lower range jacks safe.

Considering a list with 5 heavies, and 3 arcanists to take advantage of shooting. Armor 20 and 21 jacks of doom.

Probably a dumb question but how tall are the PP bases? I'm trying to magnetize the bases of my models so I can just fit them in a toolbox. But I want to be absolutely certain whatever magnets I order will be the right size.

Rhulic is pretty solid especially in the ARM category and Ossrum is probably their best caster. Fact is you can pick-n-mix your mercs in mk3 so there's no need to tie yourself down to one theme.

I believe Denny and the trencher is from the "Courage" story in NQ 1 or 2. Deneghra was still living at the time.

Haley's encounter with Skarre at the pub was in Apotheosis or Superiority. I can't look at the PDFs at the moment but I remember there being artwork of Haley choking Skarre with her mechanical arm.

Has there actually been any fiction about her since her fight with Haley in Mk1? About the only time she's mentioned in Mk2 that I can remember is when Sloan spies on her preparing to receive the Athanc convoy. I love the Satyxis, but they always felt kind of sidelined and ignored in the fluff.

At that point he had been ripped out of his armour and was being kept alive as Cryx's prisoner. She didn't actually want to have sex with him, if that was even possible, she was trying to undermine his resolve and break his spirit. It didn't work and she quickly abandoned it.

Nope, by the last Mk2 book he views her with a great deal of favour, possibly even affection. When she rides out to cover his escape, he's genuinely worried at the prospect of her dying. I mean, he's a Lich, so his emotions are going to be strange and muted, but he definitely feels something for her.

I think they're just doing their best with what they were given (and, in this case, what they were given is some weird fantasy Matt Wilson had when he was 15 and drew a picture of in the back of his trapper keeper).

He's practically been her father since Skarre kidnapped her. She's a powerful warcaster, she's tricky enough to have a Lich Lord killed and make it look like she had nothing to do with it (although not going "LOOK AT ME, MY OLD BOSS IS A SWORD" like Asphyxious did helps sell the innocence), so she's mastered Cryxian life in a few decades and running circles around people who've been doing it for centuries.

On top of that she's legitimately loyal, which is pretty damn rare where Cryx is concerned.

The ending of Collosals is still my favorite bit of Gaspy/Denny fluff. Where she's standing on the Necromanufactorum walls, getting trashed by Cygnar and Khador, utterly convinced that Gaspy has decided to let her die for going behind his back...and then he appears, and he's just like "sorry baby, had to pretend I was mad at you to lure out our enemies. Depends on when you played Mk2.

For Trolls, unless you went seriously meat mountain, they haven't changed that much. With the exception of eMadrak who is now OH MY GOD HE JUST KILLED MY ENTIRE ARMY BY HIMSELF AND IS INVINCIBLE. Burrowers kind of suck now, though.

Circle is also relatively unchanged, although their infantry somehow got worse, and Bradigus went from vying for the best caster in the game to terrible. Wurmwood (the tree is now the caster, Cassius is just his pet) and Tanith (the new Mk3 battlebox caster) are probably the best Circle casters now. The Argus is actually good now. Otherwise, no huge changes to Circle.

He's got game with Morvahna1 (ARM buff + she likes his animus), Kromac1 (ARM buff, and he's happy to have a nice big gun to power Warpath), and Kromac2 (Primal Shock + animus, and Retaliatory Strike on it is... pretty good).

Imperatus has little synergy with Helynna. Drop him for your choice of Disco or a Banshee since Helynna will get more out of them.

Disco has a great troop clearing spray and her Imprint combined with decel is crazy.

Banshee has a 12 inch gun, boost the attack n damage role then use a Manticore to unload d3 boosted pow12s for hilarious long range damage.

There's no doubt Imperatus is the best, but that's somewhat justified by his price tag. Always worth keeping in mind he's as much as a heavy + a light (on average), so he needs to be doing a lot of work to pull his weight.

When a caster can take Imperatus to that next level (and many can), the answer to that question is usually a resounding "YES". But if you can do the same job in a list with a lesser heavy, maybe even a lowly Sphinx or Manticore, then you are just throwing away points.

I personally don't like taking Imperatus in most lists because he's really expensive and with certain casters a Banshee or Sphinx can do just as much work. He's a crutch I don't plan to rely on.

I don't run Helynna as a melee delivery system. More like Eiryss2, 2 Gorgona, and jacks with good guns. My goal is to pincushion enemy jacks before they get close to me then finish them.

They don't *need* it, but with Kreoss1 in particular, adding a little range to Errant crossbows doesn't hurt. It's certainly not the powerhouse it was in Mk2 and you can survive without it.

You don't need it -- keep them as far back as possible and they'll be fine. Not getting a hymn onto every jack doesn't sting as much as it did in mk2
