Hey /tg/, I was thinking about making a WW2 campaign where the PCs are either fighter pilots or a bomber crew.
What system could I use? How would I stat the planes, the weapons and people? How can I make four 30 mm cannons on two jets assisted by rockets absolutely terrifying?

You could also have them being in a maritime patrol plane in the Pacific (like a Catalina for instance). Plenty of opportunity for the unexpected.

Achtung ! Cthulhu have stats for a lot of WW2 planes, tanks, gears,...

They won't bomb Dresden or nuke Hiroshima. The blokes will mostly attack fortifications/dogfight to secure air superiority.Maybe a raid on Peenemünde?

keep that as boss battle with a lots of ME 262 coming at them !

>How can I make four 30 mm cannons on two jets assisted by rockets absolutely terrifying?
...how would that ever not be absolutely terrifying?

Heavy cannon on jets were already terrifying, they were so fast that they were almost impossible to track by a gunner, and the lower velocity of the rounds meant that the fighters had to get significantly closer to fire than with the traditional 20mm. Consider aslo, that just because you have a parachute doesn't mean you're going to escape a mortally crippled plane, you're now in a tight aluminum box that may or may not be on fire, but which is definitely hurtling toward the ground, and you have to navigate through it's tangled innards to escape.
Also check this out, one of the gunners shoots down an enemy plane around the 8:30 mark

And that's if you make it that far. Blasting a people-filled aluminium tube full of holes has a tendency of putting a few holes into the people inside as well.

I thought this was a Warthunder webm until it cut to the actors.
