Hey /tg/, would there be a good system for over the top gun combat? I'm planning on running a wild west monster hunting campaign, planning on having some fantasy elements involved with it. Would GURPs or Savage Worlds be good for this, or is there a better alternative?

Interesting idea OP, I've been toying with a similar idea for a campaign. I'm sure someone could tell you how to make it work in GURP's but good luck getting your players to try it. Savage Worlds could probably work (it's what I was looking at) but I feel it needs something extra to make it really over the top, some sort of feat like special moves.

GURPS has a literal Gun-Fu book.

Theres a free game called Wushu where your encouraged to describe what your doing for more dice to roll on. It was made to help emulate eastern martial arts movies.

Deadlands is the game for that exact tone (though it's less Tolkien fantasy and more Amerindian folk stories). If you want generic gun fu, Feng Shui, though you'd have to excise a lot of the archetypes to make it work.
Maybe even mutants and masterminds if not deadlands
I enjoy the combat in nWOD.
Firearms can be extreemly deadly using these rules as you have no base Defense against them and only apply your Armour.
>GURPS
yes

no
Savage Worlds: Deadlands is the most underused popular game and system on /tg/, it is a great setting and system but sadly very few people play.
It is my favorite.
