I don't know man. I thought Shadows and EMN were pretty OK in terms of flavor. The Jacetice League didn't need to be there, but it would have been a good set even without them.

I'm pretty sure Momir Vig is getting a reprint in FTVL and I'd bet money that Nicky B will be there in at least some form. Maybe Mishra? Crovax / Mirri?

I guess what I'm saying is that it'll be legendary creatures that tend to be significant in multiple story arcs. OR major events from a given block, like Conflux or Night of Soul's Betrayal

It could be a collection of cards representing events in Magic history. Say, stuff like:

In retrospect, FtV Realms was amazing. Ancient Tomb, Boseiju, Dryad Arbor, Maze of Ith, Urborg, Vesuva, Grove of the Burnwillows.

Ehhhhhh, as an EDH player, what do you mean by that? In particular, I found Eldritch Moon to be a very strong set for commander, and if they follow that trend, I can see this "lore" FtV coming with some good reprints, like maybe Yawgmoth's Bargain if we're super lucky.
