Infinity is a 28mm scale skirmish game by Corvus Belli where space knights get into fights with space samurai, space muslims, space gypsies, space werewolves and space aliens.

How would you use a sniperbike? That's one profile where I'd probably stay dismounted, especially if I put her somewhere up high.
I know she has two breaker pistols, but that does not seem good enough to justify forgoing ARO duty.
Spitfire bike would be amazing. Although a 20 pts Spitfire is good on it's own, before a possibility of a bike, additional ARM or Mimetism/ODD. Might be a nice unit for 200 pts.

>>48543713
It really depends, if you want the cheapest route in, it's a starter box, and a blister and that will get you to at least 150 points, so it's around 60AUD. 150 points you can play and have fun with easily. If you have a mate, and you can split a box, grab icestorm or red veil, and that'll set you back 110AUD in total, and you'll both have around 170-185 points. If you want to play 300 points, then you can get there really cheaply, usually around another $50.

So around 110AUD you'll get a 300 point army.
>>
>>48543511
Yojimbo is a very new miniature. He wont be resculpted.

>>48543713
Depending on the faction, an army can cost 100-200usd for a standard size army. Of course, more when you add to your collection.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with deadzone. Also there are no dwarves in this game

>100-200usd
that's... a considerable amount. seriously need to think about this.

thanks for for the answers.
>>
>>48543511
>ninjas and samurai list
That's... not a great idea. Firstly, melee is a suboptimal choice, even in JSA. Haramaki links quite good for a reason. Particularly, I would strongly recommend taking only one between mushashi, saito, and kitsune.

Mushashi's actually not very good; he's very deadly once he gets to melee, but he doesn't have any good ways of getting there. 6-4's a good start, and WIP15 flash pulse is... interesting, but only ARM 1 on an effective 2W unit isn't fantastic. 24 points gets you a TR bot or a MSV2 spitfire bot, or Yuriko Oda. Consider Neko Oyama or a Shikami instead.

Saito and Kitsune have a lot of overlap, and if you're not expecting to cut up a Jotum, it might be prudent to just take Saito. He's a bit less effective, but is still pretty good where it counts.
>>
So it turns out my Aleph starter pack comes out to 160 points and no SWC points. According to 1d4chan I should aim for 300 points and 6 SWC points.

I feel like picking up another Asura might be a good idea? They seem pretty boss.
>>
>>48545855
that is a good amount to start at. 300 points is its for turny play
>>
>>48545855
> I should aim for 300 points and 6 SWC points.
300 points is a standard list and you get 1 SWC per 50 points, so at 300 you get 6 SWC.

>another Asura
While they're quite awesome, they're also expensive. Here are some other considerations that you should keep in mind:

1) At 300 points you need a *minimum* of 10 orders for a full combat group. You'll probably want to aim for a few more (in a separate group). Maintaining your "action economy" through order efficiency is very important. So it's nice to balance expensive units with cheap order-generating ones. For ALEPH that means padding lists with Netrods and Yudbots.

2) Lots of people skip over the generic remotes and robots that (almost) every faction gets. Truth is, they have great value on the tabletop, offering cheap, reliable solutions to various problems and providing orders.

3) If you are thinking of doing tournaments or ITS missions in the future, keep in mind that killing your foe is usually secondary to completing mission objectives. Which means you'll need specialists rather than just killy units. Typically 4 specialists units per 10 orders is fairly standard these days.
>>
>>48544197
Its 100-200 for something you will get dozens of hours of enjoyment out of if you like the game.
>>
>>48546011
This is good advice.
>>
>>48545910
>>48546011
I'll keep reading the rules and finish my 6 starter set minis before I run off and buy more. Thanks guys!
>>
>>48545855
Eh, I normally wouldn't take multiple Asuras. They're expensive and order hungry in a faction with a lot of expensive units. Myrmidons, remotes and/or infiltrators are a good place to start.

>>48546011
Yudbots don't generate orders.
>>
>>48546209
Aleph noob here, what rule makes Yudbots not generate orders? Comparing them to Dakinis the only difference I see is they are Support Troops?
>>
>>48546367

>>
>>48546393
A ha! Found it. "The Doctor/ Engineer and the Remote only provide a single Order to the Orders Reserve and both are activated with only one Order."
>>
>>48546367
This Special Skill that allows a Doctor or an Engineer to operate or repair by tele-presence through a Remote. Only figures with the Doctor or Engineer Special Skillcan use Remotes with Ghost: Servant. Before the battle starts it is compulsory to determine which figure will control each Servant Remote, which cannot be used by any other miniature.

The Doctor/ Engineer and the Remote only provide a single Order to the Orders Reserve and both are activated with only one Order. It is mandatory both figures belong to the same Combat Group where they count as a single figure. A Doctor/ Engineer can have more than 1 Servant Remote, but he can only activate them one by one, applying the other rules considerations. Meanwhile, the other Remotes will be inactive.

G: Servant and Doctor
and Engineer Special Skills
Thanks to this Special Skill, a trooper with G: Servant can
cancel the Unconscious state of another trooper, recover
STR points, and perform all the capabilities of the Doctor
and Engineer Special Skills, even though they lack them.
However, when using this Special Skill, it will be the Doctor/Engineer who makes the corresponding Roll.
Players cannot apply the Doctor/Engineer Special Skills to
diffrent targets in the same Order. The Doctor/Engineer
Special Skills can only be applied to one target per Order.
The G: Servant trooper must meet all respective requirements to use the Doctor/Engineer Special Skills remotely

Why wouldn't she be? It's probably her night off and she has a fancy green drink. Although considering she's in uniform maybe she went in with the blonde Moderator and she's just having fun watching her partner trying to restrain Massacre. Like when they went in he, afraid of the mayhem she may cause, said to her "easy girl, I got this", not knowing who was throwing people around.
She might jump in after he admits he needs her help.
>>
>>48550156
>Moderator and she's just having fun watching her partner trying to restrain Massacre.
>Someone from Bakunin trying to restrain someone
>>
>>48550947
I mean, that's literally the Moderators' job descriptions. They restrain the rest of Bakunin so that the ship doesn't violently explode.
>>
>>48546059
It's also insanely lower than the buy-in for practically any other table top game, except maybe X-Wing. If you were playing warhammer or flames of war, that probably wouldn't even get you the minimum, not to mention the costs in rulebook and tools
>>
Speaking of Senor Massacre. Is he actually worth it? I love his model and it might swing me towards playing Corregidor over Bakunin for my first dabble into Sectorials. Was thinking of using that 2 Jaguar Haris he has access to.
>>
why june release didnt up on shop?
>>
>>48551607
Mathematically he looks fun. In a Haris he gets a B4 Breaker Rifle and he's able to cut up most TAGs. In a purely aggressive role he's probably still outshined by McMurrough though.
>>
>>48551607
He's alright with Jaguars, but otherwise McWolfman is a better deal most of the time.
>>
>>48551656
I never see McMurrough hit the table and there are 4 nomad players in my area. I don't play nomads but I would take El Señor more often then McDoggie. Silhouette 2, eclipse grenades, and natural born warrior are nice and the Breaker Combi is really good.

2 chain rifle and regular smoke on a silhouette 6 model just isn't appealling and I think I naturally have 2 aro piece in every list i make that can deal with that and that's not preplanning for McMurrough either.

Haramaki are tough no doubt.

Smoke+MSV or camo within 16 takes down HMGs no problem. Or anything that can engage from outside 32, like a camo or linked sniper rifle. TR bots don't like hitting on 2s or 5s.

The Haramaki are more complicated. My usual approach is to try to ignore them with smoke or drop troopers and gut his army. If I have to engage them for the scenario, I send in hackers. If I don't have hackers I send in assault troopers to kill them, like Dog Warriors or Myrmidons. They die, but it only takes 4 wounds before they lose their SSl2. Then the same things that killed the TR bots can kill them.

I love lists like yours because it punished those dumbasses who say "20 orders hurr durr." 12-15 orders is the sweet spot because it lets you take the sort of tools that can deal with supremely defensive lists.
>>
>>48552182
1. Email CB about the mistake and they will send you a Reverend healer.

2. Enjoy your Father Knight duo, those guys are fucking awesome.
>>
>>48551957
Mc Murder is a hand grenade your opponent has to deal with. Double chain rifle covers a huge amount of space, smoke/grenades on 19s, super mobile, and tough.

He's the kind of distraction that Corregidor doesn't really have otherwise.

Corregidor also doesn't have particularly exceptional ARO pieces outside of a fire team. The easy access to koalas helps assert board control in another way.
>>
>>48552140
Eww.

Just remember you can't put Yuriko in a fireteam while she has a Yaozao.

Personally I am more inclined to put your reaction pieces with your specialists since your HI provide their own orders and are just using them to move into position.

Your specialists are going to be more order hungry by comparison.

>>
>>48553986
Fair enough.

Ariadna definitely has the tools, Paracommandos, Chaussuers, Spetznatz, etc. Plenty of smoke too.

Personally I don't play that way because it isn't effective in a lot of scenarios, and I prefer a more balanced list. But it is by no means overpowered.

Like most things in infinity it is brutally effective until you learn to counter it, which is by taking a balanced list, deploying effectively and using clever tactics to overcome bad dice rolls.

Just copying one of the existing articles and replacing content while keeping formatting tags should be fine. The layout is copied from 40K tactica pages, although it's a bit more brief and some sections could probably be merged into one.

The outline is:
>Title
>Why play [faction]: a very general overview of faction's strength and playstyle written in an encouraging way
>Faction features: Something common about the faction as a whole, some specific most common special skills or abilities and a small paragraph about used style of armour, weapons and equipment

Hey, playing an introductory game with a friend and I had a question.
If a trooper splits their burst between 3 targets and the first target's around hits the active trooper, is the wound allocated before or after the rest of the active trooper's shots would resolve?

*Aro not around

After all shot are made. All shots happen"simultaneously'

So? ISS didn't "need" any resculpts, but they still got a new starter, Su Jian, and Wu Ming. SAA and MO dont need resculpts, but they will get them.

JSA starter needs the resculpts too. IMO those Keisotsu are worse than the Line Kazaks. And I think JSA is more likely to get resculpted before vanilla Ariadna

>>
>>48563189
>Also, if O-12 is UN in space, does it mean that all planets are independent?
Nope. PanO owns Neoterra, Varuna and Acontecimento, as well as parts of Svalarheima and Earth. Yu Jing has Shentang, Yutang, some of Earth and the rest of Svalarheima. Ariadna is based on Dawn but doesn't even control half of it. Haqq has Bourak and a bit of Earth. O-12 owns Concilium. Paradiso is a war zone so a bunch of factions are trying to carve out a piece for themselves. There's also the Human Edge, which is a shitty star system with no habitable planets that nobody cares about.

>Also2, how Nomads exist in this political system, they are totally illegal and none recognize their sovereignty?
They're recognized as a sovereign nation by O-12, a fact that PanO, YJ and ALEPH all fucking hate. The same thing happened to Ariadna, which is the only thing that stopped them being wiped out.

Currently tossing up between Bakunin and Vanilla Nomads.

Anyone got good advice on why I would do one of these over the other?

I quite like the idea of running a 5 girl Moira link headed up by Kusanagi, but when I'm not doing that I find myself going camo/REM heavy so I'm wondering if maybe vanilla would be better for that.

I'm trying to avoid just buying everything so I want to pick either a sectorial, or a subset of vanilla models and stick to them.

Your Lt is obvious, brittle and costs SWC. The Lt options are probably Corregidor's biggest weakness, but an Alguacil is still a bad plan most of the time. I've always liked using Brigada since they're great doorkickers, but Intruders and Wildcats are decent enough as well.

I'm not sure about that Hellcat. An ADHL is always nice, but generally if your drop troop is packing a rifle you'll want to put it in suppressive fire or take objectives with it.

To be honest that second group probably doesn't need so many orders in it. When you're packing quite a few expensive dudes it's better to keep any second group small. You'll want to spend orders on Bandits, especially if you scavenge something good, so dump him in the first group. AD units are popular in second groups since you can drop them after you take a casualty and transfer them into the first group.
>>
>>48560800

Yeah it does seem like Corregidor suffers when it comes to LT's. If it wasn't the only way to run Senor Massacre I would have gone down the Bakunin route. Their stuff is more my style. I would have fit a Brigada in there as the LT but he felt off to me. Dunno why.

Ok, guys. We are a bunch of friends starting Infinity. We're pretty much new to the system and bought some models we liked and now we want to play some 150pts games.

I have Haqq starter and Nazarova Twins. Probably not the best start but those models are gorgeous and I'm looking towards Khanate sectorial....

Basically I have something like that:
CwBgjAPmCsIVBSAzOBYQDZoIIRmautNngfkSQEwHXoYAcujKjY6+eIy6ab1OlfEkG8kAdlyVqw2mCSMAAkqA
16 points short. I know I can make Ghulam a doctor or use Naffatum as the one with heavy flamer but it still lacks points. What more should I buy/add/change? I really like BASHI BAZOUKS (BOARDING SHOTGUN) model and it's exactly 16 points but adding yet another irregular is probably a bad idea. Help me /tg/.
>>
>>48565796
I'd replace one of the twins with a Regular Order solid ARO piece or two. Even a Ghulam sniper is not a bad idea. Or take two 8 pts Remotes for some cheap regular orders. Kum Bikers are supposed to trade with more expensive units and at 150pts there's not much to trade favorably with.
>>
>>48565839
>a Regular Order solid ARO piece or two
Like what?

Switched one sister for a hassassim from Dire Foes box, upgraded one Ghulam to medic.
CwBgjAPmCsIVBSAzOBYQDZoIIRmautNngfuhgEy7UrUUAcuTKTY6+eIy6a71OYPiRC0lXjkq0pfJEwACioA=
Better?
>>
Am I the only one who misses the old Kum Bikes? I know they were janky looking but they had charm. I love the new bikes but there's something about the unicycle of doom
>>
>>48565929
Hunzakut sniper is okay, but does not provide an Order, so a Ghulam with Sniper Rifle or a Missile Launcher can be good. One of the best ARO pieces is Shihab. But since you seemingly only have the starter box and the twins, I suggest using that SWC you have left (at 150pts you have 3 to spend) to give the Janissary HMG and a sniper rifle to a Ghulam. As you'll probably be playing annihilation type games at first, to get a knack of the basic rules, you can forget Doctors and other specialist and get varied weaponry instead, to learn how range bands work.
>>
Hey guys, I'm new to the and finally able to get into Infinity due to a change in my work schedule. A while back I happened to get the USAriadna Army Pack, the Hardcase, and the 112 Doc. I really like the USA theme and would like to expand in the sectorial, any tips for future purchases/lists? It seems like picking up Van Zant is a no-brainer, and maybe the other USA Grunt box would be helpful?
>>
>>48566178
SWC Grunts box is good.
Mul + Dozer is decent.
Van Zant is alright cause he can be VZ or a Airborne as you like.
Also you'll probably want more foxtrots eventually as they do pretty much everything and come cheap.
>>
>>48566178
Your choices are pretty much limited to the Grunt Box and Van Zant right now. Not until some Marauders or Minutemen come out.

I think a redesigned unicycle would work well for a Nomad bike unit. They'd be better in a cramped environment like a ship, and it's just the sort of thing those fucking space gypsies would use.

Half the goofiness was in that the old female Kum's absolutely retarded pose anyway. The bikes (unikes?) themselves weren't too bad.

Moira links are of somewhat dubious quality these days. While they can be strong offensively, they're actually quite fragile and expensive; 1W and no NWI means that visor units or direct template weapons will be very deadly. And yes, you should assume your opponent has ways of dealing with ODD.

If you do go Bakunin, Riot Grrls are a strong fireteam alternative.

>>48563255
Get a junk brush to mix your paints, don't let any paint near the furrel of your good brushes.

Thin paints with flow medium/improver. Not water.

Focus on being as tidy as possible, lay down block colours starting with the deepest parts of the model. For a newbie laying down smooth base colours neatly is your most important skill. Do that right and you can always go back and highlight later when your brush control is better.

Make a wet pallet with a Chinese food container, a sponge and baking paper.

Don't leave your brushes in the water.

Clean your mould lines nicely with files and your knife before any painting.

Besides rebasing, most people won't bat and eye if you use those guys as different troops such as Janissaries or Asawira.

Similarly any of the old Yujing Invincibles can sub for any other S2 HI.

Exrah are a bit harder, but the Vector and Void operators could easily be unidrons.
>>
>>48570602
You get 1 SWC per 50 pts. It's better to use it.
>>
>>48570602
I usually shoot for 10-16 regular orders starting on the board (not AD/TO hidden etc). I wouldn't go above 16 models either, bunching up models is deadly if opponent has indirect fire or templates.

Try to max SWC.
>>
>>48570712
I use my old Vector as my HVT.

I want him to still be useful, he won me so many games singlehandedly.

Got one of these off of eBay. Wonder what I can do to turn him into the Unknown Ranger.
Any ideas?

I got a bucketful of assorted 40k bits (skitarii, IG, CSM, and some Forgeworld) and a pack of green stuff.
Maybe replace one of the hands for one holding a scrap shield?

yu-jing, ill maybe recommend to wait until the next expansion comes up, so the invincible sectorial comes up, but knowing corvus, it will take ages...

I think you would be better off sculpting a shield than using any 40k pieces.

Plenty of power armor in the sectorials right now. Wu Ming and Haramaki are fantastic links.
>>

If you want raw shooting power, characters, or a knight theme, Pan O.

Otherwise Yu Jing. They have an HI for every task short of chucking them out of a plane. Not as much raw shooting as Pan O, but lots of versatile loudouts.

Right now Yu Jing with ISS in particular, PanO with Military Orders or, if you want to be especially fabulous, ALEPH Steel Phalanx. The latter is much more close combat focused though.
Yu Jing has the most versatile HI, some really fun ones like a transforming tigerbot or a bunch of nameless convicts (pictured) as well as cheap, explosive order monkeys,

Actually Mavericks, Minutemen and Marauders, hell, even Grunts have this kind of kneepad. But the way the knee is bent suggests Maverick. Which is cool too, because people wanted those as well. Not as much as a Marauder box I presume, but right now anything new for USAriadna is good.
They hardly can make a second Army Pack for it. It has to be drip fed, as frustrating as that is.
>>
>>48574799
>anything new for USAriadna is good
I'd rather have something else non-USAriadnan, please. They've had more releases than anything else for ages.

I wouldve prefered the Marauders, but I'm fine with Mavericks. My expectations are so low, that any of them would do at this point.

Mud spalter, angle of knee, shirt color. It is pretty clear it is a Mav, unless it something completely new.

>>48574863

That is because their faction didn't exist really until last year. Problem is none of the releases were key releases. All you have are Grunts everything is secondary flavor choices. You need either Mauraders or Minutemen to form the back bone of your army.

If they released one of those two core boxes people wouldn't be complaining so much.
>>
Personally I never run MM and only run 3 marauders, so I am happy with more mavericks.

>>
Honestly one of the factions desperatly in need of resculpts have to be Ardina. Their stuff has a lot of old sculpts, kazaks, some of the caldonians, the french,
>>
>>48576322
Kazaks and MRRF are in the pipeline. Probably not too far off either, given that ISS stuff should be slowing down towards the end of the year. And Zhanshi got their resculpts, so that's nice, though probably no SWC box anytime soon (not that anyone would take them)
>>
>>48576735

I'm just hoping to see new Veteran Kazaks (and Moblots) soon. They really need it.
>>
How do I know which models are at the old scale vs the new scale when buying online?
>>
>>48576735
I really hope Minutemen, Marauders and Blackjacks get done first.
>>
>>48577781
If there's 2 versions of them, the grey background picture ones are new scale
>>
>>48578051
Not necessarily, lots of old sculpts have those too.
>>48577781
What faction are you looking at?
>>
>>48578070

Haqqislam. I bought a box of Ghazi and a box of Naffatun, noticed the difference right away. I would like to buy things at new scale from now on if possible, for consistency.

>>48578051
I noticed that too, but I bought a Djanbazan (hacker) blister, and the picture online is blue background (on gamenerdz anyway), but the model is clearly at the new scale.
>>
>>48576322
And when CB finally makes USARF playable, we'll probably see some Ariadna resculpts. I'm sure we'll see resculpts as we get closer to the next book. I wonder if they'll save one of the ariadna starters for the next 2-player set

>>48577781
Some of the old miniatures like the male fiday are tall enough to pass. Heck, even the NCA starter is a mix (bolts are new. rest are old). If you're not familiar with all the miniatures, your best bet is to just ask someone on specific items.
>>
>>48578172
Ghazi and Naffatun are both CAD sculpts, they're both new scale. But they're just from different ends of it.

The Sekban box was the last non-cad sculpt the Haqqislam, everything after that is CAD.
>>
>>48578172
None of the Djanbazans are new or in the new scale, but the Muttawiahs and Naffatuns are new
>>
>>48578266

So the differences I'm noticing is just a difference in sculptor? The Ghazi seem to be taller and have bigger heads.

Honestly, most of the scale stuff isn't as bad as some people make out, probably just try to avoid the old Heavy Infantry because there's been a drastic shift there, other than that there's definitely been a bulking up but it's not that big of a deal IMO
>>
>>48578850

As some anons have pointed out, I clearly can't tell the difference. I'm just trying to find an excuse to not use my Ghazi since I fucked a couple of them up. Guess I'll get creative with some green stuff.
>>
>>48579199
>I'm just trying to find an excuse to not use my Ghazi since I fucked a couple of them up.

That sucks, but there's no excuse not to use Ghazi, they are fucking amazing.

QK is my reason to not use ghazi or naffatun...though between them, maggie, and fiday vanilla looks more and more enticing everyday.
>>
>>48579581
Given enough time there'll be the Caliphate and Khanate sectorials.

Though I always encourage vanilla play just for the increase in possible unit interactions.

Lol, I've been using Kotail proxies, so I don't need them right away.
>>
>>48582181
I don't think so. All the Djan look pretty good, there are way more important reculpts in Haqq, like Daylami, the basic rems or the support pack.
>>
>>48580362
The sniper doesn't have dropbears. Or Albedo. Or Biometric Visor.
>>
>>48580119
Not a blister, and is a special edition box.
>>
>>48584459
>All the Djan look pretty good
They really don't. The hacker and sniper are passable, but the HMG Djan has aged like a fine bottle of milk.

A Daylami box would be nice, but there's loads of good Ghulams that could work as proxies. I don't see anything wrong with the support pack other than them not fitting the new Ghulam style. It's nowhere near as bad as PanO's or YJ's.

Totally agree about the basic rems though. Most factions' standard remotes are outdated, but Haqq's are especially bad.

The only reason to take the sniper version is when you play sectorial and can't access the Nisse sniper, or if you are REALLY tight on points for some reason.

Mods to look freaky aren't illegal, per say. IIRC, the problem is just the pupnik fighting rings: seems like that kind of business would involve a lot of disappearing people and dangerous (read as criminally negligent doctoring) implants. I think a piece of fluff even says that the visual/aesthetic aspects of chimera-izing is popular among up and coming 'stars'
