Technocyte Plague
A Blood borne pathogen that is transmitted through infected material exposed to the blood stream, through cuts, bites, or blood transfusion.
The first few symptoms, are head aches, itchyness, fever, and highly increased metabolism.
Within the first hour the infected individual beings to develop a metallic crust on their skin. The process is extremely painful, so much so that that most go insane from the pain alone.
Following that is a period of increased aggressiveness, and active mutation of the body. The mutations in question vary wildly and are generally unique to the person infected.
Rarely do individuals become more than raving creatures, lashing out violently at anyone who isn't already infected.
The sole exception have been individuals who have been able to ignore the pain of the constant transformation. Such as individuals with congenital analgesia.

There is no known cure of Technocyte Plague. Though infected individuals have developed an allergy to Enferon. A substance that to healthy humans is only a mild irritant, to the infected it causes paralysis and halts respiratory functions until death.

The changes continue untill death, and individuals going on several years typically no longer resemble anything human.
The aesthetics of the world become gorgeous but the system used to run it become so bland that we give up after three months of doing the same thing everyday in hopes of a new supplement making it better.

While the game itself was borning I love the concept. I want to see what would happen if you make the sort of atypical zombie horror scenairo except now the zombies are partially made of metal and some of them still retain enough of their personality (twisted through insanity) to be even more dangerous.
Bonus points would be that the survivors themselves are infected and have powers to.
