Hello again, /jc/. Today I got around to working on that notes/rulings update for Cortex Command I promised a while back... and it turns out I was mistaken. It does not, in fact, take 30 seconds to grow a Culled Clone like I ballparked last time someone asked. I went to replay the level where you can see cloning vats in operation, and each vat grows one about every _five_ seconds. You can watch them go from nothing to full-grown and then slough out the bottom. Now, Culled Clones are shitty, zombie-esque rejects with none of the polish that usually goes into bodies which are actually salable, but that's one hell of an aggressive baseline. I'm going to have to redo my estimations of how long more complex clones take to gestate, because _daym_.

While I was at it, though, something else came to mind. Mods. The [Founder] perk handles all the faction-adding mods inspired by other media, but it doesn't take into account some of the original content and added gametypes. Mods have kept this heartbreaker of a game alive when even the devs weren't doing so well in that regard, so I think I'll be including a handful in what is starting to sound like a full-blown CortComm v2. In the off chance anyone still plays this game, I'm taking suggestions now: What CortComm mods (that aren't already covered by [Founder] and don't brutalize the lore) would you like to see, /jc/?

I'm currently looking at Void Wanderers (no longer limited to a single planet), Unmapped Lands (infrastructure upgrades) and Air Support as general additions available to anyone, with the Galan (space bugs with a love of pyrotechnics), House of Suns (combat drones supported by more combat drones) and Biohazard (chemical warfare specialists, predictably) as additional faction options.

Mawaru Penguindrum has been more or less stalled. Maybe this is what I needed to get going again?

It may not be his destiny, but Simon's determined to rescue his fellow villagers from certain death.

This is one of the things that'll be going in the notes. [Founder] doesn't "reduce" tech, but if it's beyond CortComm's tech base (like, say, hard light, magitech or mega-structures) then you'll need other perks to make sense of the information you're getting from it. It's giving you a preternaturally complete set of blueprints (which makes it good for grabbing items that showed up once and were promptly forgotten because plot) but not necessarily making you clever enough to implement them via the infrastructure CortComm provides. Stack a couple relevant perks, though, and that story changes.

>>48394394

>>
>>48394552
Simply put, it connects your will to the universe. This...does a lot of stuff, from creating mass and energy-and "evolving" their properties to be better-out of nothing except your hot-blooded speech about determination, to manipulating probability itself to the point the most powerful users were able to get hit by attacks and simply CHANGE THE PROBABILITY OF BEING DAMAGED by the attacks so no damage was inflicted, being able to attack (and exist) in at least 10-11 dimensions to the point where the time axis itself becomes irrelevant and apparently limited self-ressurection.

What's really crazy is that the antagonists casually create an infinite multiverse to trap the protagonists in at one point. The funny thing is it LOOKS like an illusion or something, but the way it's described it's pretty explicit the thing's an insane exploit of the quantum uncertainty principle to keep people trapped through their own perception of time and space.

And it's not even their ultimate attack.
>>
ID jump update

*Scenarios
*Racial perks
*New drawback

Changes highlighted in green. As always, suggestions will be considered.
>>
>>48394579
That part's actually debatable depending on how powerful a user of it you are. Lordgenome creates his own mech out of sheer force of will near the end. Simon broke out of the multidimensional labyrinth by, well, basically the power of friendship and visualising his drill which did...stuff, to all dem alternate timelines. Swirly combining stuff. And then there's the Anti-Spirals who completely blur the distinction between themselves and their technology, and don't even get me started on Nia. But yeah, early on people seem to need the robots as a conduct to channel the stuff.

It'd be more accurate to say it's hard to tell where tech ends and innate ability begins with Spiral Energy.
>>
>>48394603
Well, I'm glad to have heard of it, now. I'm reading the previews on this guy's website, the stories look promising.

>>
>>48394849
>>48394853

The perks being good or getting fighter girls?
>>
>>48394707
I like this, but I'm not sure how I feel about the alien race table. Are the race perks drawn from something or are they pure OC? Don't get me wrong, I think that having the resistance alien tree in there is good, but I think it should be more . . . well more about leading a resistance against the main aliens and less about the resistance race.

I may be in the minority though.

I like the scenarios and objectives, those are great. Might want to put in a note about how scenarios interact with drawbacks, in particular your zero point drawback.

This is still pretty bare bones, but what you've got looks really good. I hope you keep at this, mang.

Five, my only real combat abilities are from Infamous.
>>
>>48394930

>>
>>48394880
Well, let me think:

-Remember the self-ressurection? A guy actually did that after implicit clinical death by high energy giant robot lance. He stayed alive just long enough to combine with his bro's mech, parry some more robot attacks casually, stunlock the guy who killed him's robot with giant sunglasses (just roll with it) and then blast him apart by conjuring a massive drill more powerful than anything seen before, and which would become the signature attack of the series. He only died when they won.

-A short kid with basically no tactical or combat training starts to hold his own against trained beastmen pilots with suped-up mechs. Near the end of the first season he's blowing them apart without even a fight and casually parrying the antagonist's main henchman's robot's swords using one giant robot hand, without even looking in his direction

-At one point he uh, subconsciously summons his own giant robot? Keep in mind we're not even near the "cap".

-The main antagonist turns out to be fuelling 90% of his beastman army's need for spiral energy through his personal reserves, because their robots stop working when he dies. This includes a fortress-robot larger than a mountain and an army large enough to patrol the entire world.

-Oh-and it turns out you can apparently extract spiral energy from GL humans...somehow? When he powers up for the final battle these drill-tentacles swallow up his harem(?) and they aren't seen again.

-He's stronger WITHOUT the giant robot. When he starts losing he just gets out of it and beats the shit out of the protags' robot with his bear fists while his eyebrows go flaming.

-And then finally the protag uses his drill to blast a hole in the guy's chest at point black, releasing enough energy to rival an Excaliblast

-And the motherfucker KEEPS TALKING with a giant hole in his chest long enough to warn them about the NEW antagonists before he jumps off a cliff.

>>48394930
Yes.
>>
>>48395003
it has some decent fantasy combat stuff,so if you Haven't taken any of those before it will set you up all right
>>
>>48395008
>The main antagonist turns out to be fuelling 90% of his beastman army's need for spiral energy through his personal reserves, because their robots stop working when he dies.
Wait, really? I thought they were solar-powered.
>>
>>48394252
Probably not alone but that will give you a good basis for the physical toughness and strength you are going to need to survive.
I would also suggest adding innate skill - physical powerhouse and tireless with maybe Defense focused class skill so you can drag the battle out long enough to wear out your opponents.
Ninjas are a lot like wizards they have a reserve of Chakra and when they run out they are kind of screwed. So if you are going for a brute force build then surviving until that point is key.
>>
>>48395088
I think they just say that they are required to go back at night, he might charge them up then?
>>
>>48394966
>more about leading a resistance against the main aliens and less about the resistance race.

Would you prefer the option of choosing to be a Resistance race after selecting a background with a small pool of CP just for racial abilities?

Example: Choose Military background then buying 'Resistance Race' perk for 100CP and instead of being an American fighter pilot you are an alien fighter pilot.

0+ drawback likely to be changed or deleted, I made it when I planned to focus more on the original story.
>>
Important hard questions here.

Can you take the Esper capstone in certain magical index?

Am I right in saying it's not knowing magic of the setting that fucks the Esper up, it's just using it?

Is the updated Overlord jump on drive yet or the version there isn't updated?

Would Null Mystic from Devil Survivor which completely no sells status ailments work against the Overlord world item dress?

How tough are world items in terms of durability, like the dress?
>>
>>48395112
No, they're powered by electricity. The hotsprings Ganmen is explicitly cited as not being dependent on solar power due to being steam-powered, and later when they use the Space Ganmen in the Death Spiral Sea (where Spiral Energy is drained away), Leeron mentions that he swapped them back to running on electrical energy rather than Spiral Power. It's likely that the reason the various Beastmen Ganmen shut down when Lordgenome was killed was because for such a large battle he was powering them with Spiral Energy for a power boost rather than let them run on inferior energy sources. Beastmen terrorist groups used their Ganmen just fine in the years after his death, so they presumably could switch it back to normal functioning.

Argit: Beast (-100), Increase Charisma (-100)

So, the country is constantly at war with an invading army of turtles that hail from... well it can only be described as hell. Constant lava, next to no plant-life, terrifying monsters running around. The Koopas aren't even demonic or anything, but they are trying to use the power of magic to take over a more prosperous kingdom. I can empathize.

It's Bowser I don't get. Adopts kids, decent at rhythmic gymnastics, more or less seizes a country over night, giant fire-breathing monster, still feels the need to abduct Princess Peach every few months. He could have any Koopa girl he wanted, but he let's his xenophilia drive him into abducting a human. She doesn't have much in the way in personality, so it's probably just physical attraction. Or he really wants that crown.

So, the plan is to help Bowser get a real date with a pretty human woman. I hope it works out, and I'm not willing to give it more than three tries. If I never roll higher than a 90, then we'll have more little play wars with Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom.

I'm pretty sure that at this point it's less "abduction" and more "foreplay". Bowser Jr. tells Peach that she's his mother, and she doesn't deny it. Bowser later tells his son that Peach isn't really his mom, but the fact that Peach considered it a possibility implies that they do have a kid out there somewhere. The two of them are probably in a relationship and all this fuss with her being kidnapped is just to keep things lively in the bedroom.

No. You made a selection, you can't change it now, that would be cheating at a single player online imagination game. And that would be terrible.
>>
>>48395175
Well, since we don't know a whole lot about other races in that universe I think that being kind of vague will work to your advantage. I'd say offer two options for race: biological and digital. Then offer short perk trees with a few advantages for each, 1 and 200 points for each I'd suggest, no more, and then have your mid and top tier of the DI tree be about the resistance. You can have a sweet tech perk and maybe a resistance building perk. The DI aliens aren't showing /doing/ anything, they're just building so I'd reflect that.

The additional perks that the DI get can be offset by providing the other trees with greater discounts on more items.

Dropping the 0 sounds fine, but make sure you update the items section to reflect that.

Cortex Command. I shorten it to CortComm sometimes in conversation.

It's infamous for the "Crab Drop" strategy, which involves packing an ungodly amount of crustaceans into a metal shipping container, dropping it from orbit on the enemy bunker, and letting the resulting abuse of the physics/terrain destruction engine do the rest. The pic in your quoted post is a screencap of one such drop in progress.

I don't know what the fuck is going on.

How do gourmet cells work? Just eat, and you get more... what? A higher power level? How does that work? Does it depend on what I eat? If i eat monkey meat, is the effect different from eating iguana meat? What about plants?

How do i avoid getting fucked by the kings of everything? Just don't stir up anything in their sector?

What is there to do? And lastly, what's the upper limit as to what I, Jumper, can accomplish? Should I even mess around with Toriko himself? Does he mess around with the kings that breathe the entire atmosphere or whatever? Is there anything stronger?

Question.

How come that the Downfall of Castle and Country is considered to break all immunities when there is a creature in setting that was unaffected by it?
>>
>>48395965
Who was unaffected by it? Were they holding a different world class item, if so that is why.
>>
>>48395886
A lot of this is actually explained in series. You'd probably know all of this if you read it rather then relying on what you hear from the thread, which is why you have no idea how things work.

Gourmet cells work by growing better when they taste something great or that's suited to them basically. Meaning that eating good food makes you grow stronger and mutate/evolve. Eating food specifically suited to your personal Gourmet Cells gives huge spurts of growth.

It does depend on what you eat, better quality food means more growth and food with more gourmet cells in it is usually going to be better quality. Animals or plants can both have gourmet cells, but the more they have generally translates to them being stronger or harder to collect/cook. Monkey meat vs Iguana meat? Depends on the ingredients. Plants can also be eaten.

The 8 Kings are only in the Gourmet World and rarely leave their homes except to fight with each other every now and then. You start in the human world and you don'thave to leave it if you don't want.

What is there to do in any jump? Enjoy the best meals you'll ever have, hunt some amazing game etc etc. Upper limit? People in series get to planet and possible star busting levels. You can if you want. He's only just gotten to around the levels of the Kings at the current manga chapters, years and years into the story. Yes, there are several beings stronger then the Kings. Several humans like Acacia, Midora, Ichiryuu and Jirou. Also things like Don Slime and Neo/Demon King.

>>
>>48395886
>How do gourmet cells work and what do I get?
Pretty much you keep eating delicious food and you get a higher powerlevel. I think gourmet cells can also evolve and grow by being exposed to different environmental conditions, but I may be misremembering.

>What do I need to eat?
It does depend on what you eat, yes. Certain foods have better comparability with different demons, and it varies from person to person what kinds of food will power you up more. There's extraordinarily sharply diminishing returns from just eating a lot of the same thing or a large variety of low-quality food, however, so you need to keep finding new things.

>How do I not die?
Toriko is the perfect representation of how badly escalation can fuck up a jump, things were much more reasonable when the jump was written. I don't know what kind of growth factor the stuff you can buy in the jump has, but it'd need to get crazy strong crazy fast if you wanted to make a meaningful contribution to the final showdown. Toriko and co. haven't actually managed to do too much in this fight so far. Coco, Sunny, and Zebra are clinically dead, and Toriko only got as far as he did because bigger fish kept distracting the biggest fish. That said, you'd probably be fine as long as you stay in the human world and avoid all the plot.

>The horse
Yes, Toriko tries to fight the horse at one point. He loses. Half his body gets blown off, I think it was the right half. He gets better. And yes, there are things stronger than the horse. Much stronger.
>>
>>48395905

>>
>>48396076
They don't increase in power level, but they do grow and help the body adapt to different environments. It's why Ichiryu's training regiment for Toriko involved a lot of extreme-environmental places.

Taking gourmet cells to other worlds is a really bad idea.

Ainz is incredibly easy to influence. He's all about democratic decision making, and he's been lonely for a long time. If you were to dig into Demiurge's activity and discover what was going on, and you brought that to Ainz you could easily get him to agree to shutting it down. The Tolerance perk would keep you from killing Demiurge, but once he saw how mad you were he'd likely need to be restrained to keep him from committing ritual suicide. No joke, that's how serious they take it.

Steering Nazarick is not hard as a 42d, particularly if you're a mid to late jumper. You can't straight take over, unless you remove Ainz, but you can easily lead and steer him to where you want to go.

Yeah, I get what you're going for but we have canon examples of Ainz getting pissed at the NPCs. He always forgives them, but he's not beyond showing his displeasure and punishing them.

Just look at what happened with Sebas. He was pissed at what Sebas and both demonstrated and acted on that. He forgave him and gave him a way out of it, but that's also because Demiurge threw Sebas a bone.

He was on a mission doing intel work and he got involved with one of the locals. She got tangled up in some badness and he went full Man on Fire. So he made noise when he wasn't supposed to.

Add to that, he made no mention of her or that whole series of events in his reports back to Nazarick. The maid with him had to report those events.

So it made him look compromised and underscored how he was doing his own thing and, potentially, putting Nazarick at risk.

It's a neat little spy-arc Sebas gets.

Makes what impossible? Influencing them? That's incorrect. The perk says you won't stay mad at them, essentially, but that doesn't mean that you have to let them run around doing whatever they want.

The perk is essentially makes you look at the world through the lens of realpolitik, and gives you a soft spot for the NPCs. There are canon examples of Ainz giving them guidance to correct their assumptions and base behavior.

I arrived in the Boombox Gundam, saw some giant robots attacking a village. So, since I have a giant robot, I fought the other giant robots. They were bullies. I had no idea how to use any of the weapons, but I could outfight the other machines anyway.

And afterwards, I emerged in my skintight control suit and they were yelling something about Beastmen, but one person seemed to like it, so I took it off and offered it to him as a way of peace. He was overjoyed and tried flirting, so I decided I wanted him to be happy, and happiness escaped my head and went to his and we both started laughing. I made a friend.

But I had to fight more bully robots. And then some guys arrived and I had even more friends.

It was great.

I'd say that you can access Lv. 100 class skill- abilities when you reach that level, but not be a mid-tier Level 100 with RoH. I say this mainly because the description for RoH+L100 states that you are that powerful because you found a particularly broken class-combination by fiat, while you would have to find these combinations by yourself with training with no fiat guarantee for power. HR, however, would still provide a boost, I would think.

One of perks lets you choose an Esper power from Railgun and train it up to level 5. Can you buy that perk multiple times?

Even if not, buying clairvoyance there and imagine breaker in Railgun should be fun. A new game+ basically for Railgun. Which is good due to drawbacks there being way more dangerous

You can't jump both of those. You won't survive with IB's (heh) required drawbacks, and Esper powers work by having a specific brain structure that imposes your reality onto the shared one.

Why would a jump give you extremely powerful abilities for free if you didn't pick up a capstone booster?

No, if you train up to that level, you'll be a weak-ass mo-fo compared to what you would have been if you bought it; you'll be more versatile probably, but still not have access to the stronger class abilities, and you definitely won't be mid-tier level 100 while naked, that's for sure.

See, Anons.

There are some jumpers who want to be as powerful as they can.

There are those who want to just stick to a theme.

Me? I don't want that. I want to have a way to collect and store all powers in settings even if I can't use them at once.

Remember Eddy's Jawbreaker bank in his story to Johnny in Ed, Edd, Eddy? That's my goal, with powers.

Update on bleach Shenanigans situation.

Due to what Yhwach said, as I said in previous thread, I think he is utilizing outcomes of the affected thing/person in future, the more of outcomes he desires there is, the closer he can come to just forcing the outcome to occur right now. He takes Effect from Futures, taking away need for the Cause when he is doing it.

So he is technically GER + King Crimson, but weaker due to relying on probability. So a person with good fortune and luck perks would be affected less.

And he has that ability only after absorbing soul King, mind you.

Also, Aizen was Ichigo.

I might elaborate on that later

D&D doesn't have too much in the way of magic on that scale. It's more build for smaller engagements, but city-destroying is easily doable with 5th level spells like Control Winds (so 6th rank in Overlord).
Most statted magic in D&D is smaller in scale because of the nature of the game, with a few miles radius being the general maximum.
There are examples of epic spells that cover a whole planet though, like the Dracorage Mythal.in FR or stuff like the Rain of Colorless Fire from Greyhawk that was used to wipe out a whole country.

Perks: Hard Shell, Maneater (-100), Shell Charge (-150), Black Magic (-300)

Mario's that fun sort of weird where you team up with Mario and Bowser to kick the shit out of a sword, because a doll wants you to. So, I'm a turtle that goes fast and does wizard shit. Which is a great combo, I think.

And assholes keep showing up to demolish shit, so I have to go and find Mario and accompany him as he gathers whoever the fuck he can to fight monsters, but mostly I just play minion to Bowser. So, for those of you who jumped SCP which cosmologies do you take to be the "most" canon for your stay? Personally, I went with the Sarkic/Broken God conflict taking primacy because it was the first SCP series to really succeed at tying multiple SCPs into a single continuity, and then the Pitch Haven since it's low-key enough it doesn't really infringe or contradict anything else as well as being easily explainable as an aborted project of Yaldabaoth's.

>>
>>48398972
You can take the Servant option for yourself in both jumps if you want but you only get to use the Supplement once. That means not only do you not get SP in the second time around, you get no freebies or drawback SP or anything else. One use per character. You can get an utterly absurd amount of points, enough to put you far above all but a handful of the most broken Servants in the series. Be happy with that.

>>48399098
Which ones don't make sense? I'll explain any I think might be confusing below.

Gender Bent can apply to you if you choose to become a canon Servant. Same with Saber Again Really?.

Well, there's a kind of Noble Phantasm that's assembled from disparate components and used by the Servant. Semiramis and Avicebron have one (links related) and I think there's a Servant in Strange/Fake with that kind of NP too, so you're effectively transforming something else into your noble phantasm.

http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Hanging_Gardens_of_Babylon

Incidentally Elodie's EX NP is of this kind to supplement Unlimited Bird Works. It's based on being a sort of gestalt LLTQ Good Ends, being themed around a utopian kingdom where Lumen magitech has become widespread.

>>
>>48399097
For Outlaws maybe an ambush skill for stage coaches or trains, as long as you wear something to act as a mask no one will recognize you, or 'honor amongst thieves' if one of your posse is captured they won't reveal anything about you in fear of death.

I don't know about Strange Man being a companion, he seems more like a passive observer then someone who'd help.

Undead Nightmare DLC would also be cool, could turn that into a drawback.
>>
>>48399164
Well, I am trying to determine if making something a noble phantasm is a multiplier or rather an amplifier up to a certain level of strength,

If former, it is fucking useful. If latter, it is... Moderately useful depending on number of jumps jumper jumped and crafting perks they have.

If I take drawbacks in the fate jump I become a servant in, so they apply to me or my master?

Lancelot's Knight of the Round was A, right? How would it work at EX?
>>
>>48399164
Can a servant still get a reality marble due to twisted view of reality, without the perk, just like a non-servant jumper could as you once said?

I recall such reality marble starts off weaker. How were we supposed to boost it up?
>>
>>48399225
You can't have any NP that can inherently, permanently make more NPs. Stuff like Unlimited Blade Works where they're just temporary projections is fine. if you use out of jump stuff to make them permanent, also fine. If you make an NP where you just permanently create new NPs then you'll need to change it.

Golem and Hanging Gardens aren't really the same, since they're just existing NPs that need some set up materials in the same way something like Excalibur needs mana to be activated. That said, if your NP is basically just Item Creation EX, in that you can make NPs of any sort you want that are permanent and just need crafting, then that's also too far.

>>48399235
What do you mean multiplier or amplifier? A bit of context would be useful.

If you take drawbacks they apply to you.

Lancelot doesn't have Knight of the Round. Do you mean Knight of Honour? If so I spoke on it a few threads ago, shouldn't be hard to find if you search the archives or something.

>>48399246
...I don't see any reason why not.

Self experimentation on your soul seems to be the way to go, we don't get much detail but I'd suggest looking into Nrvnsqr and Roa since they both did it. That or use out of jump perks.
>>
>>48395911
>This doesnot make you evil and you don’t actually have to tolerate evil that you see

Late though I may be I saw no one pointed out the perk /lets/ you tolerate evil, it doesn't force you to do so. Looks like it's a way to be able to stomach evil acts when you normally couldn't.
>>
>>48399164
>>48399235

I meant Knight of Honor
>>
>>48399273
I believe they're also talking about one of the limits mentioned in 42nd Supreme Being.
>>
>>48399268

Ah, with noble phantasms I meant it like...

Let's say I were to make a nuke a noble phantasm. Are its effects boosted up up to a certain level of power, according to its rank, or does the rank serve as indicator of how much multiplied is the power of object.

What I mean is: if through combination of item creation and other crafting stuff from other jumps I take something that could match raw power or abilities of A rank noble phantasm, and THEN have it be a noble phantasm too, how much is the power increased, if at all?
>>
>>48399288
Oh, my bad.

To me that still looks like you /can/ deactivate Tolerance for Evil it's just harder if you were doing so to stand against an AoG NPC.
>>
>>48399183
>>48399226
I'm planning to do undead nightmare as another jump. The Strange Man will definitely be more of an observer than help, he might drop some hints about future dangers and stuff though. Definitely adding some of those ideas for outlaws. Having difficulty with the drop in part though, can't really think of anything to base it on.
>>
>>48399268
Also, beyond noble phantasm creation, what exactly would EX item creation help me do
>>
>>48399325
Wait, it says you'll always have a blind spot. Well stuff that then.

While I am looking at this, how powerful is Overlord compared to other settings? People have been talking about it a lot but other than one guy fighting an army I don't know how tough or fast they really are.

I thought it was Epic D&D level but some of what thread has been talking about makes me think it is much higher.
>>
>>48399318
If you're making an existing object a Noble Phantasm, then what power that thing already has is part of the rank of the final thing. So no, it's not a multiplier. You cannot for instance, give Gae Bolg's effects to the main cannon of your Light of Terra, because that would be a NP far beyond EX rank in power.

>>48399359
Nothing that the lower levels wouldn't except maybe on a bit higher level. The EX boost is what lets you make NPs, below that is just varying levels of mystic codes (Essentially enchanted items and weapons) or magical items like potions.

Gotcha. I envisioned Nova Dominatus as scaling with the quantiy and quality of set up materials that go into it so I...think that barely passes? Will amend it to clarify there can only be one of it around at a time.

>>48399372
As far as I can tell it is, in fact, Epic D&D levels as interpreted by munchkins and if melee fighters could potentially rival caster supremacy with the right attributes and race options.

It's hard to tell because the nature of the story is such that Ainz has never gone all out. The closest he has, IIRC, was when he summoned 5 Shub-Niggurath spawns using a vortex that sacrificed people it sucked in, which routed an entire army mostly through sheer terror. He was happy about it because the previous record for summoning the things was 2 at a time.

I think it was also said that the arrival of the original 8 Kings into the world somehow sabotaged the local magic system, forcing its' primary users (the Dragon Lords) to have to sacrifice spiritual energy to use it. The exact mechanism of what places YGGDRASIL players in the New World is still a mystery.
>>
>>48399376
Ah, so if a thing would be comparable in power to high rank noble phantasm, it would just grant it ability to hurt Servants since noble phantasm and that's it?

It's so cute that you think anything but the most powerful World Items are even close to that. And even that's only because of the "Rewrite the game's rules" World Item.
>>
>>48399411
Essentially. Though if it's that powerful it would likely still deal at least some level of damage anyway.

Most of the populace: Commoners/Experts/Warriors/Aristocrats/low-level classes
Some of the populace: low-to-mid level D&D chars.
Minority of the populace: mid-to-high level D&D chars
Top of the populace, Nazarick NPCs: high-to-epic level D&D chars
Ainz, Plat Dragon, etc: epic level D&D chars.

That's my ballparking anyway.

I'd treat Drop-In like Clint Eastwood as Man with No Name in the old spaghetti westerns. Lightning quick draw, always seems to stumble on people needing help, always cool as ice, never has to give name (even to military), and is so stoic the villain realizes torture won't work on him and instead offers a cut of the gold.

Kind of difficult with Generic Western jump being similar.

Darkseid.

>>
>>48399831
Hmm, tricky one. I'm tentatively putting my money on Darkseid's baritone because Batman can sing the blues and Darkseid can beat up Batman-who trained Robin, who was like 1/4 of the reason why Trigon was stalemated long enough for Raven to get her mojo back-therefore that means he's the stronger singer.

That's how singing works, right?

Anyway, shouting that at a police station got me a ticket from some weird box. What do boxes even know? And then the cops started yelling at me, so I went underground for Dennis Leary to make jokes about how people like me usually get eaten around here.

We burnt through a ton of cocaine pretty quickly.

I don't think either of us can remember the plot of the movie, but I learned Cocteau did die by 438 lightning strikes that spelled out "Divine Punishment" in ashes and Simon Pheonix was beaten into unconsciousness by a giant rat wielding a pair of keys, and put back into cryo for 60 years.

So, the underground was made into a paradise and the aboveground got occasional visits telling them when they were fucking up. Some of those visits were from a spaceship.

For starters-I'm not entirely sure how else this utopia is being run but a world where the only choices are Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are the only choices is a culinary living hell. So my first city planning project will be a food franchise so fresh, it will use wormhole technology to cook things straight from the farm.

In fact, portals are gonna solve half the inefficiencies here. The other half will be solved with quantum computing.

Also maybe we should phase out this whole defrosted criminal idea? I know this God-Machine who can build a better killing machine to take care of both loose ends. This years' angels come
in Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert Patrick, Jason Clarke and Kristanna Loken models-but I personally recommend the Summer Glau model for the element of surprise.

Anyway, I'm going to completely utopiafy San Angeles until nobody sensible's gonna want to live in a hole in the ground when they can have everything they want just by following the rules. Which in practice is going to mean a lot of desk work punctuated by occasionally releasing a divine Terminator at someone.

Heck, I could probably even design a better kind of sex simulator simply by using the Defragmentation Device technology to improve the code's quality.

As someone else mentioned most of the well-known D&D spells aren't designed for truly wide-scale damage (though there are exceptions) but one should consider the reasons behind that:

(1) in most D&D campaign settings the only serious threat to high-level beings are other high-level beings

(2) per lore, the spell lists in D&D are the "common" spells, the ones that every bob and jane caster have heard of - which means there are _uncommon_ spells out there, that aren't well known

(3) based on the spell creation rules, any archmage or archpriest worthy of the name would be capable of researching something with only low dps but an AoE measured in miles, and that's _before_ we get into Epic Spells (or in Overlord terms, Over-Rank spells).

Speaking of lore, "Army killer" and even "country killer" spells do exist and are closely guarded secrets of magically-advanced empires. For example, The Rain Of Colorless Fire and the Invoked Devastation were used in the Greyhawk setting by two respective magical empires when their cold war went hot, wiping each other out and turning large chunks of the continent into glass and desert respectively.
>>
>>48400310
There are actually army and country killer spells in regular D&D, too, which are castable by PCs. They're just found in splats.
I remember seeing a spell somewhere that rained fire down from the sky, literal fire rain, which did something like 1d6 damage per round to everything underneath the storm for something like 24 hours, and had a city wide radius. It was a 9th level spell.

I just found that interesting.

So where can I find the Rain of Colorless Fire and Invoked Devastation spells? I want to look those up, now.

>>48399472
Almost all the NPCs are stronger than Ainz. And they're even stronger than him if they're in their floor, since they get min/maxed minions and tons of buffs that make them become raid bosses.

She is theorized to have been build from a World Item that was crafted after AoG having held 7 mines during a long time.

If you're lucky and start hoarding World Items you can pretty much fuck the balance of the game. But AoG was defeated more than once and wiped-out. For example, they lost control over some of those mines after another guild used another WI on them and were unable to fight the guild to regain control of the mine.

>>48400630
I would say something about what you can get, that probably would make Worm_Anon nerf the jump even harder, so I will refrain myself from doing so.

And Toriko's Jump doesn't puts you on the level of NEO right away. It just gives you the tools to do so over the course of decades/centuries (depending on the available materials). Which is basically the same that getting technology perks and jumping into high-tech jumps.

Aside from that, there are some other jumps where, unlike Toriko, you start being a high-tier with a high-destructive potential: Overlord, DMC, Touhou, Digimon, Tenchi...

Wish has a clause about wishing for anything above the guidelines i.e. anything truly broken being at the GM's discretion to backfire on you. >say something

Oh, it's you. Ugh. Well, all I can say to that is having actually read Worm I still stand by my position that it's not as good as it's wanked to be accounting for the non-jailbroken Shard powers you can get.

>gives you the tools

I'll...have to concede on that point though; I don't think NEO's been explained wholly at the moment so I can't really make a position to argue there. I will say I'm pretty sure it's firmly at DBZ-level regular combat shenanigans, which I thought was supposed to be a benchmark for endjumps.

Meh. As other people said, I really don't think Epic Level D&D is that bad.

>DMC

Dante's canonically weaker than Bayonetta and Bayonetta's a jump. Nah.

>Touhou

>Tenchi

Which also has an endjump condition

No. There's plenty you refuse to consider because you're an entitled moron: Subtle uses of Mind to influence decisions, discrete uses of Space to collocate when nobody's looking, almost everything involving Fate and Prime's free game in any world where people believe magic exists.

You, however, are not denying you're deliberately disparaging a jump solely based on your personal preferences and that you think nobody else's opinion is valid except for yours.
>>
>>48400734

To a certain level. There's a limit to how much mana you can spend to mitigate it.
>>
>>48400638
The Elder Evils are barely epic as statted, if that. A well build level 20 PC can take most of them solo if you know what you're doing.
For the really tough enemies look into the Epic Level Handbook. Some of those eclipse the elder evils by an order of magnitude.

>>48400683
I'm not going to dig out my books, but canon epic spells i remember include summoning hundreds of tornadoes over a several mile radius, causing permanent winter in a similar area, killing everything within several hundred feet of you and adding their lifespan to your own, doing massive damage to everything in a city-sized area and animating it as undead, shielding an entire city from detection or removing it to a personal demiplane and similar stuff on that level.
The biggest statted epic spell i can recall is the Dracorage Mythal, which periodically drives dragons over the entire world insane and has been active for millenia.

So yeah, it's pretty similar to Overlords overrank magic, and that's without counting the fact that you can design your own epic spells with even more powerful effects.
>>
>>48400789
>Dracorage Mythal
Don't forget that the dragon empire, in its last ditch effort to stop that, built a magic cannon to try and hit the comet.

It missed, clipped the moon, and shattered part of that, just by a glancing blow.

>>48400774
There's also all kinds of uses of Life or Matter, especially if you have access to ultratech. Can you tell where the fractally-structured carbon ends and the magic begins? Neither can reality. "Yeah, I totally spent that time doing nothing but training Earthbending. Watch me throw a continent."

There are always things that will, despite every sense in the world and more, hide from you. Strike at you from the dark. Steal your icecream sandwiches from the fridge. Dolls watching you never stops being creepy. There is always some dark god or ancient evil that could end the world in every small, out of the way village that you come across.

Aside from the whole dimension ascension, you can get a treeship with light hawk wings. Which can can tank and deal a ridicolous amount of damage. Clearly above 8 eight kings and DBZ-levels.

>Meh. As other people said, I really don't think Epic Level D&D is that bad.
Instant-death magics that bypass inmunities is really something.

>Dante's canonically weaker than Bayonetta and Bayonetta's a jump. Nah.
Is that so? I remember them being close.

>I'm aware of the powersets you can attain and while they're strong, none of them are anywhere near 8 Kings level
I'm inclined to believe that conceptual bullshit > physical strength

>The last time
Kind of. A lot of megas can do pretty bad things to dimensions and the space-time continuum.

I want to use Language Violation to troll the hell out of Umbridge. Not much to add other than that, except maybe add a second 200 CP drawback?
>>
>>48400995
I was just going to add that stuff like toon physics and the sting can pretty much solve any fight against any Toriko creature.

My point being that exotic powers > physical power house like the ones from Toriko or DBZ.

Not very? They could just set a filter for popular phone User Agents. Phones already send that information to sites, it's all in place.

Of course, just because they can doesn't mean they will. Also it wouldn't stop anyone from spoofing their user agent and getting past it.

For reference, here's a list of all the phone user agents that they could just grab and set a no-posting filter for.

Also, building giant magical cannons and firing them into space is just generally the kind of thing you do if you're an insane sorcerous lizard of vast arcane might. They were practicing to get in character.
>>
Is there any perks that can make an ability appear to be totally different to observers every time it's used?

>above DBZ-levels
DBZ at the end of the original, they could blast apart galaxies. A light hawk wing is a planetary weapon, and the 1st gen has 3. Only thing exceeding the original DBZ is if you pop out more than 5 somehow, because that unravels the universe because it can't contain that kind of lhw energy. Not sure how that works.

Now, Super? The only things in Tenchi that live up to DBZ Super are the Chousin and Tenchi at his full potential, because now we have characters that can blow up universes. One that can do so completely casually and took out 6 in a brief fit of childish rage (the Omniking.)
>>
>>48401115
Also wrong quote there.
>>
>>48401094
>>48401101
Er, I should clarify my response by explaining that the dragons built the cannon to try to blow up the comet, which would stop the madness spell from driving them insane.

They failed and went insane, and dragon civilization collapsed.
>>
>>48401162
Tenchi's a total outlier too, being the maximum overgod the Chousin were looking for. Isn't he literally omnipotent?

Also it takes 10 LHWs extended by one individual to unravel the universe from what I remember
>>
>>48401162

Where did DBZ started blowing galaxies? I mean entire galaxies, not just Buu teleporting from planet to planet blowing them up.

And three wings can defend you from an attack obliterating a huge portion of a galaxy in an instant.

>Now, Super? The only things in Tenchi that live up to DBZ Super are the Chousin and Tenchi at his full potential, because now we have characters that can blow up universes. One that can do so completely casually and took out 6 in a brief fit of childish rage (the Omniking.)

You still have the Ds, Z and other high level entities.

>>48401167
Ops.
>>
>>48401191
Z is literally just a shitty failed Tenchi who can never actually reach overgod status and is pissy about it.
>>
>>48401199
That doesn't mean that he is weak by any means.

As if being weaker than an omnipotent being puts you on a bad place.

Yes, but unfortunately like this anon >>48401130 I can't remember which jump.

>>48401177
He's... well if in D&D terms the Chousin were just gods instead of being the three creator-goddesses of an entire 11-dimensional multiverse, he's kinda-sorta the local proxy of their overgod they managed to get the attention of by rattling the pillars of heaven in a metaphysical morse code enough to be noticed.
>>
>>48401224
>the Chousin as three chibi-goddesses rattling the bars on their play-pen while calling out for daddy

Yeah, I can picture it, and it's adorable.
>>
>>48401115
Just so you know-neither of the people you're currently replying were me.

>depends of what you do

My point is more that doing something with them is about as stupid as teabagging Azathoth, so I'd honestly consider anyone who interacted with them to be committing suicide by Jumpchain.

>'invincible' sphere + level 30 wizard

...yes, you do? Don't see why that's relevant

>Who?

I remember one guy who was really vocal way back about not posting builds, for Worm specifically, out of paranoia.

>stupidly broken

I'm aware of them. And I genuinely don't think any of them can immediately field the same level of power, and more importantly any of them are INCLINED to on a whim.

But at this point I feel likes we're just gonna be saying "Yes" and "No" in more elaborate ways so I'll agree to disagree.

>endjump condition

Other guy seems to be fielding that point well enough so-what he said

>Instant-death magics

Don't they have something called a reflexive save or sommat, that basically means they can be theoretically dodged or tanked by things with ridiculous stats? And since anti-magic fields are a thing presumably other out of context problems can stall them surely.

>Is that so?

Yep. Kamiya said so a while back. Besides I definitely don't remember Dante punching anyone across the solar system, playing frisbee with a satellite, using his hips to hurl a space station back at the person who tossed it or headbutting a building so hard it got reflected back and smashed the thrower.

>conceptual bullshit > physical strength

I'd say it depends on the levels thereof for each, respectively. And apart from the fact I think the Kings are OP even without accounting for that, the backchannel stuff seems to show Toriko does have a conceptual element to its' bullshit

>megas

Eh, I've heard worse happening in other jumps

You can buy Paradox down to a chance die with mana, and then if it manages to get any successes you take it as resistant bashing damage instead of letting the Paradox happen. In the game taking a point or three of resistant bashing is bad because you only have around ten boxes oh health, or '20 hp'. Jumpers with a few durability perks could tank a huge amount of resistant bashing damage before they even notice it has to heal naturally.
>>
>>48401221
I would think that your "health" would directly tie into how much of your body is left that's viable for regeneration. So if half of your body is incinerated, then you'd have 50% health.
>>
>>48401361
I think the point is that CEF makes you take no physical damage, just HP loss, then AP makes you survive as long as there is anything left of you.

>>48401221
Personally I think that you get the full benefit of CEF until you run out of HP as normal. Then you go unconscious, your injuries return, and someone can /try/ to deliver a death blow but AP makes that really hard. Assuming you have some regen (I forget, does AP give regen?) you will be back on your feet before they can full kill you.
