As for why people hire him, honestly a chainsaw is still a relatively TV-efficient inducement, ranging from 110-140k for the chance of brutally murdering an opponent's star player. A chainsaw often will make back it's cost if you can get a single high-level player out, or a couple of rookie ones.

The reason they often see dismal performance in our league is that a lot of players take them and then leave them completely exposed to a turn 1 or 2 blitz. That's just asking for your chainsaw to get knocked out immediately.

The other reason is that players usually end up blitzing with them. Sometimes this is necessary (i.e. to take down a tough ball carrier), but the problem with that is that it ignores the most efficient part about chainsaws - you can foul with them. By keeping the saw focused on fouling, you can blitz with other (preferably Mighty Blow) players, which results in overall more blocks leading to overall greater chances for injuries.

He is survived by fellow werewolf The Warmongrel and Rival Cowboy Tanktop. With 18 CAS in his 21 games, and multiple TDs in ONR's Finals win over AC, The Poundinator has earned the first spot of the Hall of Fame. He died as he lived, fighting against the lizard overlords.

It's a pretty disturbing precedent, in my opinion. Sure, the league isn't super competitive and "just for fun", but if that's the case that's all the more reason to score and play to win, since it doesn't really matter if you get a bad matchup next. Throwing games tactically if anything is far more "tryhard".

It's not like we bar players who are bad at the game or play while drunk either. Playing a game bad by choosing not to tactically stall or tilting after losing a good player is one thing, but deliberately throwing the match when there's a clear way to score doesn't strike me as a good attitude to encourage.

At the same time it's not like it's been explicitly stated you can't do this and most leagues generally include some sort of clause that states the intent to compete - not necessarily at a high level, but an expectation that teams will try to do their best and win.

It's a loophole that's been lacking (mainly because it hasn't seemed necessary) so far and it seems a lot of people are in favour of closing it, but at the same time I don't think it's correct to penalize a particular coach for violating an unwritten and implicit rule.

Just close the loophole and move on is probably the best solution in this case.

I've been having the least fun in this season compared to others for some time. Kind of made me want not to try as hard. If I did I would feel more inclined to win and try to go for the league leader because I still had the chance. Playing the strongest team in the league when my best player that was made to deal with them just died doesn't excatly fit the definition of fun for me. I get stressed out about big games. Scoring just really didn't seem beneficial to me at all at the time.
It's not like I expect you to applaud me for making the best decision. Just don't blow this thing out of proportion, it's probably not going to affect the league much in the long run. Other than spicy memes.

There's no use thinking about this, everything was already arranged before season 4 even started, the money pours in mauled's pockets and our fates are decided. Only those with the bigger stacks will reach the playoffs and there's nothing we can do except to wait and find out who they are so we can make them pay. That's the sad reality of what our league has become, nothing but a money laundering machine for Mauled and his thugs, a perfectly written theatre drama to keep us on the edge of our seats and make us believe so we'll keep throwing money at Mauled and Christer. If you actually want fair and square Blood Bowl, I'm afraid Reddit is the only place left, I know I won't condone this shitfest of a league anymore and this is the last season I play here. If you're any smart you probably already knew or suspected this and you should do the same.
