theres a normal ship CYOA somewhat like that, it was semi-decent, I could dig it as a airship theme. if handled right.

Better have zepplins as a ship option.

Race: Human
Academy: Vale
Semblance: Ghost
Skills: Precision, Intelligence, Will, Strength
Talents: Tactics
Weapon: Variable Anti Material Rifle/Machinegun (Heavy Duty/Collapsible/Dust Mod)
Dust Mod: AMR: Railgun effect with bonus electricity for looks. Machinegun: Lots of little fireballs, Overheats fast as hell though.
Items: Armor, Dust collection, Parachute and Hook, Dust Charges

I like to imagine the rifle is 2-3x bigger than her. A lot of running away and hiding and then a slug the size of a baseball bat tears a hole in the enemy from nowhere.

Trying again because I was the last post last thread.
Could probably do some tactical leadership in missions, I don't know enough about RWBY really to guess at what to do. Probably appear out of nowhere and startle people a lot.

Hey acheld. Is Temporally Displaced meant to be so hard to achieve? There should be a note saying you may very well not live to the present day, which is a prerequisite for all but one. That and for a lot of them, your work could be completely undone in the last century or even years. Except for an Empire Eternal, but that still requires you living to the present day.

Almost every quest is completed only by the present day, but human lifespan probably caps out at 120. You could very well drop dead before 2016.

Sorcerer Supreme is the only one that seems vaguely viable, and assuming you don't manage to kickstart human civilization and advancement early? Your best shot would be in the last centuries of the 2nd millennium. .

You know, some kind of GPS & compass feature would be very useful for navigation.

I have a laser rifle that can transform between a precision sniper rifle and a shotgun, as well as a retractable Bo staff. No doubt they're a good combo.

My gear is well-rounded and focused on utility to supplement my combat style, instead of amplifying fighting prowess.

Overlord

Undercity
Desert Domain
Advisor: Priestess

Perks: Earth Elementalism+, The Mind, Form Changing, Study, Gold(free), Diplomat, Telepathy+
Immortality:One With Nature
Followers: 4 Earth Elementals, Pet Dragon, Apprentice, Guard Squad, Guard Captain, Knight, Cook, Cleric, Spymaster
Complications:Thieves' Guild, Orc Bounty Hunter, Monsters, The Underdark, Chilled Existence, Thorn of Cold
Pet Dragon: Dragonborn(Brown), Hatchling, Elementalism, Intelligence, Human Form, Scales

I'm a living incarnation of Earth, capable of appearing anywhere within my hold or my domain, made of stone or sand. I am the backbone of my hold's defense, since I command significant power and reach, but I'm assisted by my elementals and dragonborn. We also have some followers in the city itself to help keep things safe and deal with various troublesome sorts.

The Orc Bounty Hunter is basically a joke, since my body is A) encased in indestructible magical ice and B) not even where I live anymore. I honestly only stopped picking "assassin" complications because that seemed a bit unfair.

Anyways, I rely on the Priestess and her assistant to help create a prospering, happy trade city of boisterous miners, while my Rock Team kills baddies and has adventures.

Filthy repost because I'd end up making the same build

>Outlaw (90)
I-I totally couldn't be convinced to join the side of "good" through the Power of Friendship /hot dickings in my girl-vagina

>Girl
>Age 17 (Outlaw)

It's the generalist school, great for everyone. Atlas is a bit too strict for an Outlaw, and I am not an "Allahu Ackbar muh 73 virgins in Heaven" kind of person

>Variable+Additional Weapon Form (500)
Claw/sawed-off shotgun, maybe a spear too?
>Armor (600)
Don't really know what extra to get...
>Targeting glasses (750)
>Shield (850)
Probably a good idea
>Collapsible (Variable) (900)
>Weight reductuion (1000) (Variable weapon)
why not. It's probably heavy.

I'm just your ordinary student.
Really, I swear! Sure, I might be used to be a guy, but that all changed since I was forced to be removed from reality and join this crazy life,
Everything's so strange now.
I have a gun. Who the hell has a gun?

None of this is what I'm used to. Hell, I'm a girl now!
How messed up is that?
And I know I have to share my room with three other people, and maybe they're boys and that's super weird.
I really need to find a team before the initiation ceremony. I am not letting my team for the next several years be up to chance. I need to know I can count on them.

The immortality mechanic sort of takes me out of it.
It's good balance but the spells are framed as learned skills. Meaning immortality would give you more spells not less.
Also, if the reason you lose a spell is because you spend too much time in your life on the immortality that would mean your spending most of your life learning the spells and not able to use them until much later in your lifetime.
It would be better if you had an intrinsic but finite amount of spellslots granted to you by your god or something imo.

Responding to the Blood Mage CYOA
>>48245453 P1
>>48245512 P2
>>48245587 P3

Path: Seeker
---Extra spell school and ability to learn spells outside this point buy.
Location: Quarantine (Straya under a bubble)
---Only one actual enemy and otherwise normal society.
Covenant: Ark
---Escaping the heat death of the universe is literally the most important goal of all time..

Discipline: Esoteric
---Ability to make sacrifices and store the power in advance for double cost. Blends in non-blood magic.

Trait: Eldritch Lvl 3 (cost 5)
---Super intelligence, brain-to-tech integration. Side effects include aberration organs and a tentacle where there shouldn't be one.

Aspects:
---Invocation: Demon calling.
---Negation: Abjuration and antimagic.
---Perception: Precognition a la Nick Cage in Next (2007).

BY THESE POWERS COMBINED, I AM CAPTAIN PREP TIME.

Seriously though, just focus on summoning Demons, using the summoner's ritual and negation spells to bribe and coerce demons into helping me. One of the lesser ones has all of the mind-fucking spells at his disposal, and the Archivist's price of secrets can be fed by secrets gained through perception magic.

Eventually, get some kind of immortality going and work on creating an extra-dimensional escape hatch for humanity. Don't even bother killing the wizard keeping the quarantine up unless it's absolutely necessary. One of the perception spells can even mimic any spell a la wish, so immortality isn't even out of reach.

Think of it as what you had learnt/acquired before the murderhobos showed up to fuck up your day and make you flee your delicious library.

Additionally, the immortality options are not mandatory, and in fact there's options to refuse it for benefit.

But please go on, a fresh opinion is always valuable and I'd like to see if there's anything you can add to the long laundry list of critique i already have saved.
>>
>>48255233
>I think it helped that RWBY has a fanbase and a setting that promotes team oriented structure.
agreed. I was thinking how to even structure it, but my idea fails from either
a) Not having a reason to work together without being FORCED to work together
b) So fucking many words to paint the setting, but things will still end up vague because images > words when it comes to clarity.

>pre-establish setting
Additionally, I don't even think the CYOA mentions "you Work in teams of four, you sleep together and train together".
That's only something you know from the show - we all assume that's how it Works, because that's how the source material Works.

Using a pre-established setting Means you can answer these questions, or make guesstimates rather than needing the "Voice of God" to tell you. I think it makes roleplaying easier, definitely, but everyone WHO isn't familiar with the setting/source material are screwed.
For instance, I don't like Worm and I've only made a build for the first one. I have no clue what's going on, WHO the people referenced are, what their power level is, how dangerous the World is and what to do, and you're assumed to know this.
>>
>>48255499
You'd probably need to hint at a lot throughout the CYOA and that would clutter it up unless you really had a way with words. It would be confusing as fuck either way.

Try making one for an established setting maybe? Get a feel for what things are alluded to and what things need pointing out. Or I guess just start spitballing in-thread and have /tg/ help.

>You'd probably need to hint at a lot throughout the CYOA and that would clutter it up
>It would be confusing as fuck either way.
Exactly. And still it wouldn't be too accurate, I think.
Look at Battlemage and the Detritus. The fuck is a Detritus? How big are they, are they different in size and strength? Do they have multiple forms? What are they weak to?
All the questions about Detritus could be answered by basing the cyoa off an established setting.

The only setting I can think of right off the bat that encourages teamwork would be Percy Jackson. You live in the house with the kids WHO have the same godly parent as you, and you go on a quest with two others, WHO would usually have different parents.
That wouldn't really leave a lot of choice, unfortunately
>Pick a God parent
So either we use the pre-Heroes of Olympus setting where you can only be a kid of an Olympic God (minus the Big Three, which will make anon mad he can't be the Mary Sue), otherwise that's gonna be way too much Work.
>Pick items
>Pick companions / people ITT to go on a quest with

Thank you for making me feel happier.
I want to ask, though, is time stopped while I'm in the Cuddle Dimension? I really don't want to have to worry about leaving or wasting my age away in the dimension, otherwise I'd never use it (or use it seldomly).

And personally, I think that the room should come with either the couch or the bed for free. I mean, you *need* one of them, don't you? How else would you cuddle? Lie on the floor? Basically just a necessary point expenditure. Relatedly, why does "bedding" come with such a small amount of bedding? "Bedding" should just give you as many pillows and blankets as you want, because if it's raining and cold like I like it (also pls gib temperature option, I like it like 58F), I want like a sheet or two, a blanket, and a comforter with like six pillows surrounding me and supporting my head.

And just lastly, please give girl option. I always wanted to mutually cuddle a girl as a girl. That would be so cuddly and nice.

Please consider.
>>
>>48255764
>And just lastly, please give girl option. I always wanted to mutually cuddle a girl as a girl. That would be so cuddly and nice.
Not author, but I'd think the whole "anyone you pick will keep their powers if they have any, but said powers can only be used for comfy" would imply the possibility of what you described.
>>
>>48255795
Well, yeah, but I don't know any characters I like that could do that for me temporarily.
Know of any?

And, really, I just want to cuddle with my waifu for like days on end. I'd have to take another person in to be the girl, which would maybe be bothersome.
>>
>>48255825
Why doesn't your ideal waifu already have that power if it's something you want? It's not like you're limited to only waifuing characters as they exist in fiction (or otherwise).
>>
>>48255852
Oh, nevermind. Well it just says "summon your waifu." I didn't think I could be adding anything to her, but I guess I can.

Well that's nice. I love my waifu just the power-less way she is, though. Maybe it would feel like cheating? Well, whatever. I guess that solves it, then.

It doesn't look like you have a single quest to complete before you go back to expanding your power. All enemies and drawbacks are optional.
If I could rebuild my library later I would postpone acquiring immortality until then and choose 14 spells at the start.

It's not that you can't study any more, just that you're starting out. You can of course find spells and books later on, but what you choose is what you have when SHTF.

It's a Blake's 7 knock off where you're a band of escaped prisoners in a stolen spaceship.

Needs a lot of companions so there a few different pilots, engineers, medics etc to choose from, so you're bot forced to always pick the one pilot if you dont take piloting as a skill for yourself.

we have 50 abilities each with 3 ranks, this means 150 points total. Which means 3 possible things. 1 we will have lots and lots of points that can be distributed between using them to improve yourself or companions 2. Set number of points on yourself and set number of companions 3 or number of points you can use on yourself and how many companions are tied to origin. Are there any of those, drawback things ?
>>
>>48256691

Not quite.

Skills are broken into "master", "experienced" and "competant" levels.

You choose X skills to master, which is world class at them, Y skills to be experienced at, which is well above average, and Z skills to be competant at, which is a basic level where you're perfectly passable at a skill, but totally unremarkable.

Actual numbers to be determined, but sat 3 masters, 6 experienced and 9 competant. Something like that.

The tiers are not really distinct skills, just being better at the same one.
>>
>>48256730

I figure since it's a Blake's 7 knockoff, a crew of 7 (so 6 allies) is the way to go.

In the most current version of the DLC I'm actively working on in another tab, there are options to make magic inheritable, but not specifically just you.

You can do one of two things; similar to what >>48257095 suggests, you can use the DLC to make magic run in bloodlines (which will be in the next posted DLC), and then kill all other bloodlines that have that magic.

Or, alternatively, you can use Descendants - Great and select a type of magic that a limited number of your descendants will inherit.

Oh, I actually meant in general. I was considering a cancer survivor who you had cured of cancer through magic for my cyoa. Then I realized that you probably can't cure cancer with healing magic. Then I had a small autistic identity crisis. Now I'm breaking my mind over how you could cure cancer with magic. Currently I'm considering some sort of necromantic magic that would work like chemotherapy in destroying the cells, followed by regular healing magic to revitalize the body.

It's consuming my mind. I don't even remember what that cyoa was going to be about.
>>

Thanks. What do you think of this build? I wish I had more points. This is focused around becoming the Roman God-Emperor and uplifting the fuck out of humanity. I tried to prioritize not dying over other superpowe

I can now easily claim to be Vulcan, or choose another point and be a different Smith/Fire God. I didn't want to go too far back so I wouldn't have to literally start proper civilization.

Origin: Rome, 340BC
Quest: God-Emperor of Man

Actually, to elaborate on this; if you have to explain how healing magic heals people, then it arguably stops being "magic that heals people" and becomes, at best, "magic that is being used to heal people." It reminds me a discussion about Panacea - before I got bored of talking about Worm - where it was suggested that she can't really be considered a healer. The argument went that her power was editing biological structures, so even if people decided that they were "healthy," it's because she changed the structure of their bodies into something that wasn't leaking all over the place. It actually came up, I think, when we were talking about powers, and somebody mentioned taking one of the Final Fantasy games and slapping people with White Magic. How does White Magic heal you? It makes you better, and it gets it right every time, because it's function isn't to change your structure until you stop leaking, but to make you healthy.

Yes, Blessed One can work on yourself. It's just that if you're bleeding out it will probably be difficult to muster up the concentration to use the magic.

The build looks good; the CYOA is such that it's honestly difficult to make a bad build. I think Imperious 4 is overkill, myself, and temperature 3, unless surviving nuclear bombs dropped directly on you is *really* important to you. Frankly, you should be able to have better ways of not having nuclear bombs dropped on you in the first place. BUT, it's not wrong by any means.

I DO like the theme of you being a smith/fire god, teaching mankind to smith metals, and giving them enchanted blades of fire. Nice imagery.

>>
I'm absolutely loving the AlteringHistory CYOA.

My pre-Myth&Mystery build involved travelling back to the Jurassic era. I spent all my points on as many companions as possible and Diet lvl 1 for everyone. Sure it would be lonely and very difficult to advance teh without as abundnat sources of fossil fuels, but giving humanity several million more years before the heat death of the universe seemed worthwhile. Not to mention all the geological, botanical, zoological, and astronomic data that could be gained.

I think the latest changes to the inheritance system are a step in the right direction, although I think the point costs and numbers of descendants affected still need fine tuning after Myth and Mysteries is completed.

It would be nice is several lower level, mostly harmless, effects like beauty could be made available to all descendents.

I'm still wavering on whether the 5 purchase limit makes sense for great heroes/descendents.

I'm not sure increasing the number of individuals affected is worth repurchasing a trait several times over, especially at the expense of either improving yourself or increasing the variety of traits that can be given out.

I also fail to see how affecting 10 million people breaks the setting more than affecting 1 million people, so I'm not sure why the limit is set where it is.

Maybe make it so that only a certain % of the population can be affected in total? Or remove the purchase limit entirely?

That *is* an interesting idea. However, I'm concerned that that would make enchanting way too powerful compared to the other magics. So, the answer is "no" for now, but I'll think about making that possible.

>>48257934
Sure; it would be a time consuming process, but as I note in the CYOA, you have plenty of time. Now, it wouldn't last long once they left the building, but you could make a sapient zoo. Maybe a bit cruel, but tastes vary.

>>48257939
So, vibration blades create kinetic energy by vibrating at great speeds. Let's say you have a vibration blade that vibrates at 100 times a second, yeah? Impervious 3 reduces things to 4% speed, so now it's only vibrating at 4 times a second (for purposes of its effects on you). Combined with the fact that any force with which it is pressing against is reduced extraordinarily, it would take quite a vibration blade for you to even notice it; perhaps stinging for really nasty ones, as suggested by >>48257967. Impervious 2 would probably still leave you vulnerable to them, at least as I'm seen vibration blades characterized in fiction. It really depends on "how fast is this blade going".

I can't find good numbers on the speed or pressure of a water cannon, but similar logic applies. You certainly have my leave to consider Impervious 3 as making you fully invulnerable to them, and Impervious 2 is probably enough in most cases.

>>48257958

I'm probably with you on the things like Beauty being available to all descendants; I was conservative that time around, because it's easier to give people more options later than to take options away.

The five purchase limit is because I don't want all of humanity to be comprised of people with Diet 2. Or Invulnerability. Things like that. 1 million people who don't need to eat is useful for those people, but doesn't allow humanity to expand without limit. If you could buy even Diet 1 ten times then humanity can overrun the earth easily. Of course, that *does* force you to spend 30 points, so maybe it's not as huge a problem. I'll think about increasing the limit. The percentage of the population that can be affected doesn't really fit with the idea of you giving out parts of your personal power.

>>48257977
Oh?

>>48258040
Yup; Major Divination is, in my opinion, the most powerful option for the price in the CYOA. But I don't want to make any one magic more expensive than any others, and I can't nerf it without making it kind of sad, so it is what it is. It's not *complete* invulnerability by itself, because it just makes you aware of threats, not necessarily able to react to all of them if there are a large number at once. But it would certainly be enough to not be in the vicinity of a nuclear bomb going off. Barring a Fallout scenario where everything is in the vicinity of a nuclear bomb.

How would you feel, anons, about picking, for example, 40 points worth of other powers when you chose enchanting? Any you could enchant things with those powers? So, for example, you could pick Wellspring of Harmony as 5 points worth of those 40, and then enchant things with that effect? Or pick super strength 2, and make bracers, etc? (I would probably limit it to level 2 of perks).

This would allow it to be flexible, without letting you enchant *any* power you had, which I feel would be way OP. Would that be annoying, or cool?
>>
>choosing enchantrooneys
what are you minecraft scum?
>>
>>48258245
> Major Divination is, in my opinion, the most powerful option for the price in the CYOA

Divination is certainly great but it's entirely focused on predicting threats and adapting to them which stings plenty of people, because they want to be bulldozing gods. They should never be the one to adapt so to speak.

That's my theory as to why it's an unpopular choice despite it's blatant power.
>>
>>48258286
Way too limiting. In RPGs enchanting always lets you imbue things with whatever you know, not x number of things you know.
>>
>>48258286
Sure why not.
>>
>>48258286
Annoying. It'd be a cyoa within a cyoa. "use these 40 points to pick enchantments for your enchanting skill".
>>
>>48258338
Hmm... I could give you the option of choosing one of:
* Enchant with any magic you know
* Choose 40 points of magic and/or non-magical abilities to be able to enchant.

That would be, by definition, less limiting than it is now, because now it's just the first one.

Thoughts? Unlimited access to enchant any powers that you have is not going to be an option.

I'm not going to tell you you're playing your game wrong, but in my mind enchanting currently lets you do two things:

* Add magical powers you already have into items.

My followers are largely guards, heroes of destiny, gladiators and the like. They show no mercy on the battlefield but are surprisingly receptive to diplomacy all the same. I don't make plays for power against other gods unless they take a hand in war against me.
>>
>>48258489
But then he's playing it wrong.
>>
>>48258418
Yeah, that's totally irreconcilable. It's just that when I hear Enchanting, I jump to a court wizard, spirit/god, or somebody with Craft Wondrous Item, so something like a pair of shoes that let you step half-out of reality or a bow that shoots lightning instead of arrows, or condense a wind storm into a sheath, or yes, just generically a sword that's better than a sword is supposed to be. I admit I wanted to slap on everything in the DLC for a much higher level game, if that helps you not look down on me. If it doesn't, that's okay too.
>>
>>48258457
I hardly think that being able to enchant any magical power that you have into an item is "a bunch of minor powers", but mileage may vary. You're under no obligation to make use of it, but it's one way, for example, to give out magical powers to those you wish to without having to spend a lot of points on imbuing. Granted, it's less flexible than what they know themselves. If you're not interested in giving power to others, then no, Enchanting isn't a very useful skill. It's not designed to make you, personally, more powerful, it's designed to make followers/armies/friends more powerful.

>>48258461

The CYOA rules are what they are; I will clarify how I interpret the rules and abilities when anyone asks, but at the end of the day, it would be hypocritical of me to go all 'YOU MUST ABIDE BY MY INTERPRETATION'. There are plenty of CYOAs I've done for my own pleasure in which I bend the rules.

Now, that being said, if you post a build in which I disagree with your use of a power, then I will say so, mainly because I don't want other posters thinking that is the "official" interpretation. But it's not something that would make me upset.
>>

>>
>>48258564
Ah, sorry, that's just a misunderstanding. I meant *in addition to* being able to enchant with your magical powers. Here's my guarantee: I won't be changing enchanting to be *less* flexible than it currently is.
>>
>>48258561
Yeah, I guess that's true. Although, the examples I gave, there are three matches and two half-fits anyway. Two storm powers, a default function, and the boots could easily describe something to cover large distances quickly, as although I had a clear image, that's not the most concrete description, and I just realized you could probably enchant something with your enhanced durability, after that comment about Beauty, which fits the original comment.

If you were wondering at all, the boots were some kind of ethereal/ghostly deal, or something like Reimu, Obito, or the Flash. Likewise, the initial nuke comment was mostly about the Starmantle Cloak from third edition, though I really can think of some random mythological items that could work instead.

I am considering adding the capability to enchant things with your physical or mental enhancements, but I'm not sure whether I will or not yet.

By increasing the costs involved in performing the magic.

Theres a couple of different ways it can be done.
1) Require multiple branches of magic for different kinds of effects. Unfortunately this method becomes very complicated, very quickly.
2) The alterations can only reach the magnitude of level one effects or lower.
3) Make the spells much harder to perform. Maybe it requires blood sacrifice, several different mages working together, difficult rituals, or very rare ingredients.
4)Dresden files magic. The more people who try to use a ritual, the weaker that ritual becomes for all of them.

Its basically a question of high fantasy versus low fantasy. There are a lot of ways that the powers can be balanced, but it is difficult to do so while keeping the cyoa light.
>>
>>48259134
It's undeniably the best school of necromancing. The whole scroll is centered around making you an immortal god-pharaoh. The curses are incredible, the methods of immortality are extremely hard to kill, and even the minions are ridiculously strong. There's a literal instant death spell for fuck sake. This is even more obvious when looking at the companions section which contains nothing but extremely powerful ancient beings with big ambitions.

The school is basically so over-the-top powerful that most of us ignore it and make a more interesting build that does not immediately give you the means to conquer everything.
>>
>>48258850
As it is, it feels like that is way too much overlap with the "imbue heroes" thing under companionship. It's also not very interesting. What I mean by that, is that there are many different ways that you can "interpret" imubing items with Stormsage, for example. Whereas there's really only one way to imbue physical/mental attributes.

Weather Report was a Stand from Part 6 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It had weather powers, like X-men's Storm, so it could do things like electrocute people who touched its master, rain poisonous frogs from the sky, or create rainbows that, through the power of subliminal messaging, turned people into recursive snails - snails that turned people who touched them into snails as well. I think that if you physically passed through a rainbow instead of looking at one, you turned into a pile of snails, because several parts of your body began processing the messages at once and turned into snails independently.

Once we settle a little south, we practice our magic. We summon earth elementals to find and dig up iron. We make some iron golems for protection (which look snazzy with my artistic prodigy perk), and upon asking the spirits to prevent inbred diseases, we start making babies. Lots and lots of babies.

Eventually we'll finish our main project - enchanting 6 iron golems with Major Binding so the iron golems can reproduce. If we finish in time we'll send them across the Beringia land bridge. If not, we'll have to wait a thousand years later until there are boats large enough to carry them.

Once the golems are in the Old World, they seek out materials to reproduce themselves. They'd probably start off with simple materials and work their way up. They are forbidden from attacking humans unless out of self-defense. They all bear my symbol, and once enough golems are built that wiping them and the original 6 out are unlikely, additional golems are sent to wander the world and help humanity where they can. Difficult due to the language barrier (which I assume they inherit from me), but not impossible.

People will come to recognize my symbol. When the population strikes 100,000,000, it is likely most people would recognize me and my symbol.

The continental US and surrounding areas will be quickly colonized by my descendants. Golems are extremely useful in pre-industrial societies due to the automation of labor. Their strength and endurance is also useful for moving heavy materials and construction. Humans primarily serve as skilled workers. With proper cultural norms limiting population growth, my empire should remain well-off and able to support a large number of thinkers (of which there are many with limited genius).

Sooner than later the industrial revolution will spark in my empire, and the modern world blossoms again in this alternative timeline. With sorcerer supreme completed I can grant most everyone indefinite lifespans. When humanity catapults itself to the stars, the intergalactic empire will be supported with (rare) enchanted FTL communication/portal devices to make it viable.

>That *is* an interesting idea. However, I'm concerned that that would make enchanting way too powerful compared to the other magics. So, the answer is "no" for now, but I'll think about making that possible.

Really it depends.

For Minor/Major Enchantment: How many hours does it take to make a "plain artificer" (blade is sharper because magic) item, a Minor Magic item and Major Magic item?

Remember that people may end up taking Great Inheritance/Imbue Hero or even pay for DLC options as an alternative to making Minor/Major Magic items.
>>
It's probably best to leave enchantments as they are. It has all the same problems as inheritance does with balancing.
>>
>>48259297
Yes, provided you have both Major Shapeshifting and Major Enchanting

>>48259317
That one I'm a bit more iffy on. I didn't really intend shapeshifting to let you become things without a brain, but the wording doesn't disallow it, I admit. My interpretation would be "no", but, again, not going to be upset if you go in that direction. It's not as if being able to shapeshift into a tree is game-breaking. It's *definitely* limited to organic creatures, though; that I will add a line clarifying.

My understanding of the power, as I wrote it, is that it only lets you create "real" weather that can do real weather things. It just lets you create that weather where you want to, and have it exist in places where it really should not.

>>48259352
Nice. You're not going to find anyone your mental equal, but given Wellspring of Harmony that shouldn't cause too much angst.

Given "Region Locked" you're going to want to *start* further south than the Eastern United States.

To accomplish the population requirements for Sorcerer Supreme, you may have to technologically uplift. The main problem I see for you is that given your region you don't have a huge population base to work with. It's going to be iffy to get to the world population you need. Or, you can just wait until it normally would, but that's going to be about 1,000BC. So you'll be old. It's not exactly a "problem", but you may not like the idea.

I love the idea of combining Binding and Enchanting; just imaging the bad-ass killer golems that you can create, infused with all aspects of your magic.

All in all, it looks like a fun build, even if some would call it sub-optimal for leaving you "vulnerable". Your physical resistances are enough that you're very unlikely to die by accident, though you can still be killed. Spirit Singer will help provide protection against that possibility.

Same person as the one I'm quoting. I interpreted Enchantment to:
1. Let me make different magic items ala D&D. At minimum, things like a "+1-5" sword depending on whether it's major or minor enchantment. Maybe some minor cantrip-tier stuff that WOULDN'T make a post-scarcity society, so no Create Water From Nothing Traps.
2, Imbue a minor magic on it that you know.
3. Imbue a major magic on it that you know.

For #2 and #3 I assumed they were not versatile as the Major Magic itself. So a Major Stormsage wand would only let me shoot a lightning bolt or hurricane.

A Master of Motion belt could either let me teleport (minor), create a portal (major) or effect how easily I can escape/avoid being grappled.

I figured that the more powerful an item was, the

I agree with your interpretations of number 2 and 3. Again, I don't intend enchantment to create wondrous items in general, so I disagree with your interpretation of 1 being able to do "cantrip" stuff.

They are not really loyal or easy to make like any other books, you need many years selecting right people to turn into eremities or mummies in small numbers while, for example, purple just goes on the cemetery and rises 7000 skeletons

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/03/070320120440.html

It is theorized that climate change will increase the intensity of storms; would it possible to create, say, a super hurricane that dwarfed Katrina & Hugo? It does count as "real" weather after all. It's just not necessarily on the scale that has ever occured before.

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2002JD002726/full

On the sidebar hit conclusions.
>>
>>48259690
Yeah, but create mummy let's you make every single type of mummy you want. They are also stated to be "loyal servants that carry out every command of the one who created them". It's an intensive process but you basically get an extremely high-tier servant out of every corpse. Unlike the other tomes which have a handful of different spells you need to buy to make servants. Orange buys "create mummy" and optionally "create eremite" and uses all his other slots to make himself a powerful magical juggernaut.

Also, if Purple raises 7000 skeletons at once they each 6990% weaker than an individually raised skeleton, let alone a mummy.
>>
>>48259479
>>48259352 here, I honestly forgot about low population in most parts of the world when I picked 20,000BCE. So really sending those reproducing golems to the old world is unnecessary because most people would live in the new world.

One wouldn't have to necessarily technologically uplift to reach the population requirement, although great technological progress is near inevitable with 6 immortal super geniuses and their descendants being above the modern 90th percentile. Since imbuing Major Binding automatically gives mastery of Minor Binding, so long as there is a large source of mud and clay nearby, everyone imbued can construct golems. Golems can, under human supervision, perform most food-related tasks. Automating food-related tasks means more specialization outside of food production.

Really my bigger concern was the population growing too quickly and falling into a Malthusian trap and or me losing political control. My descendants may not be able to make iron golems, but enough clay golems and human bodies would overrun our relatively small amount of iron golems. That's why it's important to pound into the heads of my descendants not to have too many babies. Commit infanticide if they have to; ethically it is arguably better than letting a Malthusian trap occur.

>>48259810
Yes, it's a quality vs quantity thing. That doesn't make Orange overpowered. It means it operates differently from some schools. The way to fight Orange is overwhelming force from swarms of cheap units, support with specialized tactics against individual mummies.
>>
>>48259842
Do Eclipses count as weather patterns?
>>
>>48259838
That's up for debate. I personally don't think Undying Servitude works on most of the living dead, those who have already been imbued with necromantic magic, since those bodies already house their own spirit. Even if that's possibly there's still the question of whether the Spirit can overrule the body's servitude.

I think that's something for Scientist to explain.
>>
>>48259856
I was more thinking of really dense darkened clouds to cover large cities for the Vampire Lord quest.
>>
>>48259805
I would visualize those kinds of storms as possible, but more difficult to create. Like, a proper magical ritual, or something thematically cool like that.

>>48259811
All makes sense. In the next version, one of the small tweaks is that it's going to be possible to master an imbued magic in ten years, IF you have a master teaching you. So this means that you can have a smaller population of those you most trust making more iron golems, if you wish.

>>48259842
In terms of an eclipse, no. You could maintain dark storm-clouds indefinitely, though.

Ah, I meant to finish my post with "The more powerful the item, the longer it takes".

So #1 would be +X to performance basically. I guess in D&D terms a Minor Enchanter would start at making +1 items and cap at +3, whereas maybe a Major one starts the same (or at +3) and caps out at +5? I guess enchanted boots would be varying levels of comfort/resistance to mud/water, stuff like that.

Maybe a Computer +1 would be somewhat more efficient than it ought to be with its parts.

Arcanum Discors could maybe have a note on it being possible to harden high-technology with Enchanting, maybe? You could harden it from working weirdly around magic/disrupting magic at the expense of any enhancement you could have given it, maybe.

I think it should be left to the writer/QM/GM but "technology" for that drawback could be electronic/electrical devices invented by or after 1800? That leaves some technology working but it's the most consistent you can be with hard-and-fast rules. Otherwise you have to be very arbitrary like the Emberverse. It still removes a lot of technology so you'd end up with some weird schizo-tech where modern (probably no synthetic materials and no electronic sights, so think 1960s and earlier) firearms and relatively modern automobiles are used alongside musical instrument/flag/mirror signaling. Photography, though low-tech and without snapshots would exist too.

>>48259732
I'm kinda curious what a 6 point powered character ought to look like.
>>
>>48260063
I'm liking Orange more and more. I used to think they were useless toilet paper tier but now that I've actually given their spells a real good look, I have to admit they're pretty great. Quest: Empire Eternal

Gonna have a hell of a lot of time to prepare to create my empire, Once I work my way into a position of leadership I can snowball across the lands and start implementing improvements to the quality of life across the board.
The only problem is that I'm relatively limited in where I can personally go, I'm hoping that my leadership and planning can cover the rest. Regionlocked sure limits your potential to complete most quests.
