Hey, is anyone familiar with Mage the Awakening? I've been working on a combo for a while and I was hoping someone could check if I've misremembered how spirits grow in power i.e. by eating each other, or whether beings from the Astral Realm behave differently from regular spirits.

And before you ask-I know autocannibalism seems a little unrefined, but I truly can't think of any better solutions for the purposes of upping Ranks. Plug 'n Play is specific to energy sources rather than the direct metaphysical enormity related to Spirit ranks as far as I can tell by the wording, ditto for Universal Adaptor and I'm not entirely sure if Crystals of Power from Dissidia would correspond directly to the conventional means by which Morpheans (from the Astral Realms sourcebook) up their abilities.

>>
>>48183939
I'm not familiar with Mage, so I don't know if Astral Realm beings are different from normal spirits from the Shadow. But eating each other is one of the ways that regular spirits grow in strength. Just be careful not to go magath. I see that you've got a section for modifying them to be more suitable for consumption, but when you're eating that many spirits you could still wind up warped from trace contaminants to unsuitable essence. You're going to want to filter that stuff many, many times.

Also, I don't understand this part
>The Power of Origin unlocked in Fate/Extra is a transcendent increase to Servant parameters, enabling Servants to traverse the distance of the galaxy in seconds. Described as the prototype for all human genes it would normally burn out by itself due to the Servant vessel's frailty. However, by using Elven Enchantment from Lord of the Rings to sacrifice this ability through methodology of the Trigram alchemy from Journey to the West the concept of this ability may be transferred into the Ensouled embodiment of one's Reload ability, which then disperses its' power throughout all aspects of the world-body which are composed of RPIP on a physical-or metaphysical, given its' angelic components-which may then provide even greater space-warping capabilities to this assemblage, in addition to rendering it "invincible" by a factor comparable to BB by retconning injuries and nullifying events at will.

How is Elven Enchantment going to let you do that? That perk says nothing about sacrificing abilities to empower objects. Also, how are you Ensouling the Reload ability? Reload is a technological power, Ensoul only works on magic.

To the questioner last thread. The series as a whole is lower power level. They're not weaker than canon, only weaker vs comics.

They still do all the functions, but constructs aren't as tough, and you're not going to do some the crazy stuff they pull off in the comics.

Anyone else try out Pokemon Go? I found it to be pretty boring.
>>
>>48183939
Can't spirits grow in power just from the passing of time? IIRC.
>>
>>48184026
The Doom.txt jump has a perk that explicitly allows you to modify it based on mods that've existed for Doom 1 & 2.

Go on. You want to jump H-Doom. I know you do.
>>
>>48184026
Minecraft: Botania
Magic flowerpower would be nice and trading out of jump items through the portal to the elf dimension would really freak those buggers out. I really wish the jumpmaker had included a 3-400cp mod import option.

You could just retain one of the fanverse drawbacks across your chain and chose which fanverse you want for each jump. "My modded version of X" would count, but It's super wankery and you should feel bad. That would also put you in the actual game rather than the lore-verse so that could be an issue.

>>48183939

>I'd like to be able to add mods to Terraria

Sorry about that, but before writing it, the last time I'd heard the words, "mods," and, "Terraria," in the same sentence, it was followed shortly by, "Cease and Desist order," so I was unaware that there was a thriving Terraria modding scene.

If I remember right, when it first came out, their stance on mods was, "the code of the game is our intellectual property, and we don't want people modifying it; we want them to play the game we want to make."

I think I still have the RTF somewhere and could add stuff to it. Give me a list you'd like to see and their general power levels compared to the base game, and I'll see what I can dig up.

>>
>>48184372
Back in 2011, they weren't planning on supporting mods, at all and several that directly modified the source code of the game had been taken down. All of the interviews where they talked about it that I can find links to have seemingly been taken down.
>>
>>48184522
Yeah, for as much as I love Skyrim's aesthetic mods, and I'd be down for jumping them, what I'd really want is a suite of magic mods.

There's a really good one that adds in a branch of the 1handed tree that buffs you if you're running spell in one hand weapon in the other. Plus a couple of gish-specific spells. It makes combat more interesting.

I have to save Earth from the assholes that live on it, and also every other planet from the assholes that live on Earth. Earthers a shit, basically.

So, I'm going to find a way to steal the Pragma Paksis from them and cure it of it's hatred and cruelty. Isaac and I will work together on it, and we'll have to use all three Lighthawk Wings to contain it, as well as some dimensional magics and my stand. And then we're basically going to have to brainwash the thing to get rid of all the hate and stupid that Earth drove into it. After that, I'll leave it in the care of the other Pragma Paksis that lives in the Pirate's ship.

My powers actively undo brainwashing, is the problem. I can't be within 50 feet of them after that. So, I'll fuck off back to Earth and fix all the damage they did to their planet. Captain Planet is not just fun, but useful for lots of jumps.

>>48183894
Mostly tile, actually. It's easier to clean and I can lay on it if I get overheated. I don't mind cold feet so much. Even in real life I go out in the snow barefoot.
>>
>>48184579
I mean, was he planning books beyond his last one? Do we know the potential plot?
>>
>>48184594
I'm pretty sure that the reason was that they weren't planning on supporting the game itself anymore, so they just let them do whatever.

And then Skiphs and one of the other devs decided, yeah, nah, we still want to do stuff with the game and they've been updating it with, mostly, little things.

Question: does the liquid generator bucket upgrade replace the plans, or do you get plans for a bucket version? If you only get the bucket can you buy the plans separately to get both?

Eh, it's not that great. The tails are too skinny for their length.
>>
>>48183894
Hardwood floors whenever possible.
>>
>>48183939
Nope. Runs into the issue that A) Morpheans are Astral Beings, not Spirits, so they don't grow by eating things, B) Rank 6 is equivalent to Archmastery, quit trying to wank your way around the block on that, and C) Trying to view the Fall isn't possible due to it having never happened anymore, even assuming Morpheans were actually around for it and aren't just echoes like some Atlantean ruins, you're not likely to get anything of use. Also you seem to have lost focus on the actual project for a good chunk of the pastebin, instead focusing on an entirely superfluous generator.

It might end with you as an obscenely strong rank 5 being if it weren't for the first issue, but the stuff beyond that is literally a slightly different form of Archmastery, from the same book even.
>>
>>48184641
The plans are for building an actual structure, like the glitch-fueled liquid generators people build when they need a huge amount of liquid.

You get plans for the structure and you get the bucket if you buy the bucket, which is technically a dev item in the game. If you want to rule that you can make more of the dev buckets using a recipe that paying for it gives you, I'd support that, because the additions that the infinite musket pouch and quiver give you also support that.

Not really, no. His son said they were following his notes when writing the new books, but I'm pretty sure that the “notes” they are talking about were something along the lines of I should get around to writing some new Dune books.

So I've got a mecha that, being a companion (got to love the ALICE System) I've given a bunch of the self-evolution perks. The big two are Karma Chameleon from Gunm and Omega Adaptive Evolution from X-Men Movieverse, along with Mutational Mastery from Resident Evil so she can guide the evolutions to fit her desires. She's also got Flesh of the Vajra, ELS-Formed, and Psychoframe from Macross, Gundam 00 and Gundam UC, respectively. So my question is: What cool features can I evolve for my mecha? Anyone got any ideas for what stimuli to expose it to so that it gets useful new traits? Because so far all I can think of is stuff like "better armor" or "faster flight: or things like that, and that's really underutilizing the potential.
>>
>>48184778
A beam fueled by love.
>>
>>48184718
Short answer: Yeah, you get both. If you want to be able to make more dev buckets, I support you making that choice, because other Gear items support that choice as well.
>>
>>48184778
>>48184796

How about a legendary shield that increases her love by the amount of beams she absorbs?

If you take the perk from borderlands that allows you to build the shields from that game its probably possible. Damn I love that place.
>>
>>48184778
Show her the Variable Weapon Emulation System(VWES), from Mega Man X. It's how X can have so many weapon systems and change them between games. At that point, if she knows how to use the code, she can just make her own weapon systems.

>>48184763
The gender planets are a result of the Harvesters. The leaders kept the societies used to be a married couple and they decided that they didn't want to lose any natural born humans. So, they created societies of clone humans so that the Harvesters would take those instead. With the reason behind the separation removed, the information on the Paksis infected ship, and the people they meet along the way to their home system, that problem is free to sort itself out. I'm fine with weird gender politics, the mass genocide and harvesting of humans is more pressing concern.

Did this companion go through Evo search for Eden yet? Because lets say, you pick up Science of Evolution and External Influence(To basically hand wave why you can get perfect results fairly and to allow you to straight up evolve your mecha with your own evo reserves), and then your companion picks up Invasive Species, the multiverse is your oyster. Introduce her to Symbiote tech for BS level shit

Because now you know the science of evolution to a talent, and your mecha can essentially evolve traits of beings they encounter with either their own Evo or your Evo points.
Your Psychoframe crystals are now organic and can hijack living beings via nanoswarm bugs? Your mech can now collect gravitons and deploy them like a gravity beam emitter?she can shoot anti-matter missiles by brewing odd matter in a fabricator within herself? She starts producing wierd humanoids that she commands as a central hivemind that continually evolve and are peak human?
All that shit and more is within her purview given time and effort on both of your parts.

... honestly? I don't. They don't fit the aesthetic I'm going for.
Research stations and the warehouse are metal. I always imagine research stations as being rust coloured and very thick plated, whereas the warehouse/Tonelico is more polished, reflective, with an Undertale's CORE / TRON aesthetic. Other outposts generally use stone or wood, depending on use and feel. Occasionally living wood.
If there's anything on top of those, they're generally like big throw rugs and stuff.

Mods should never have gone to console. A bunch of assholes have been harassing mod makers to port their stuff to console, they have stolen mods from the nexus often taking credit for making them, and then harassed the mod makers even more when the PC mods broke their console save files. Now a bunch of mod makers have taken down all their content and we have no idea if any of it will ever come back.

Killing Alduin leads to an absolutely fucked universe though since the kalpas can't renew anymore through the King/Rebel/Betrayer enantiomorph. Now I play FO4 off and on, but I don't use any body mods for that, because
1) They seem kindof plasticy and low quality to me from screenshots?
2) I'm not really a fan of GIANT BOOBS
3) The custom wardrobes for them are largely terrible
4) I'm too dumb/lazy to figure out bodyslide.

Soon enough, I shall bring safety to the Commonwealth by my revival of the Minutemen -- now staffed by 98% Junk Robots!

Mods simply Modify a game and in no way steal credit from the makers of the game, or even money. They simply enhance or change the product someone already purchased.

The console stuff is people stealing other people's hard work and claiming it as their own.

>>
>>48186943
No, the original game has its own engine the mods are piggybacking off of. The modders did NOT make a game, they just did a bit if tweaking.

They are not special snowflakes. If they want to get pissy of someone doing to them what they did to the original game, fuck em.

The purpose of a mod is to make the game better, NOT to give the modder creative exclusivity. They did not do that for the original game, they cannot claim it for themselves. And face it, consoles need all the help they can get.

Moreover, no one is getting mad that someone "doing what they did to the original game" There are dozens of mods that all do the same thing in slightly different ways.

They are getting mad people are wholesale taking the work they did, using the same name for the mod, and the same images, and the same description, then claiming they did the mod, and not the actual person who made it.

238. Primal Rage
Location: The Tomb
Origin: Neutral
Primal Form: Natural Origin [Rat], Magical Aura (-100), Lithe Lightweight (-100)
Perks: Consume the Weak, Hear Our Cries, Inspire, Avatar Of Balance (-400), Hallow Lands (-200)
Items: Treasure Horde (-200)

I have a cult on the Civilization I drag around with me (hereby known as Jumpland), but that's like 5 weirdos jerking off to me in a storage closet of the Orange Julius until they grow rat ears. I'm not that important to daily life, being the traveling god. My companions have much more fervent groups of followers, being much more active among the populace, or at least physically present.

So, I've got next to no worship power, but I can still fight gods on my own, I suppose. And, in my journeys, I can gather the will of the people behind me. I have the godhood benefits from Wakfu, so my followers are empowered by me, and I am empowered by them. It also means that with enough followers the people will all become super-strong, super-tough, and super-agile magical ratmen, on top of an extremely small fraction of the rest of my perks.

So, first things first, I have to evade or kill the Goddess of Insanity, which shouldn't be hard given my size. I can take a few potshots before leaving to gather my own band of traveling worshippers, and I will train them to be happy traveling nomads, avoiding the destructive gods while we can. If I get 10000 followers, I go to war against the destructive gods. Any less, we spend the jump constantly on the run.

>You're the kind of person that would advocate people being able to modify a jumpmaker's jumps, without permission I take it?
I think Jumpchain is not a multiplayer game. And blocking all other versions of a jump once someone makes one is dumb.

The Drive has folders for a reason. If someone thinks they can do better than an existing jump, let them.

Jumpmakers don't own the setting of the jump.

What are some good ways of symbolically dividing up magical/spiritual properties? Preferably ones with a large number of categories. I'm trying to think of a parallel system to Personas to introduce in Persona, and I want something that has the potential for a similar number of Social Links. All the ones I can think of (chakras, sephirah, zodiac signs) would max out either once the party is full or soon after.
>>
>>48187412
Zodiac Signs was a good start, but branch out, go with other Star Constellations as well, include ones from different cultures.
>>
>>48187412
You can subdivide the 12 zodiac signs into 36 decans, which should be enough for you.

Yeah, that could work. Though another problem that just occurred to me is that I'd need a system that has a clear beginning category and end category. Otherwise what are my Wild Card-equivalents going to start out wielding and later get as a reward in the True Ending?

>>48187567
36 might be too much, ironically. Also, it looks like this still has some connection to Tarot, and I kind of want to eliminate as much similarity to that as possible. Maybe I should go with some divinatory method from fiction, so there's no connection at all. Sure, it wouldn't have any historical precedent, but A. Neither do Tarot cards if we're being honest, the first recorded use of them for cartomancy was in 1750; and B. I plan on using a combo focused around the Making of Myth to backdoor this system into the Collective Unconscious anyway, so it's not that big a deal.

Perks: Rock Candy (-200), Quick Learner, Telepath (-200), Radiant Personality (-200), Engine Specialist, Silent Running (-150), Shield Specialist (-100)

Hull: Stealth 1, Piloting 1 (-50), Rank 1 Cloaking Systems, Rank 2 Engines, Rank 1 Medbay (-100), Rank 2 Shields, Starting Pack

I send the ship off to the Kerykeion for analysis of it's systems and mostly just traveled using my Lantern Rings. It takes them mere days to get anywhere in the Milky Way, and they don't require warp beacons or outside technology. I'm mostly just hoboing around the galaxy and sending samples of whatever space scrap I pick up to the Jumplands.

It's pretty fun, honestly. I have perks that just give me an instinct on where to go for adventure, luck perks, and foresight and intuition perks. Chilling with strange aliens, drinking strange beers, and just enjoying life for awhile. I shut down rebels when I cross paths with them, but otherwise it's all just a neat little roadtrip.

For the King Arthur jump, can we just choose to go back to the time of real world King Arthur or does it have to be a fictional one with magic? Also, can you only pick settings where King Arthur or some part of the Arthurian legends (Merlin, Excalibur, the works) are flat out mentioned as existing/directly play a part in the story or can it be ones where it's very likely they did but not explicitly part of the current setting?
>>
>>48188379
There was no real world King Arthur, his legend is based on a mix of the stories of two unrelated people, and complete fantasy. But you can pick any King Arthur world that is "Realistic" and without magic.
I would assume it has to be ones where they outright exist.

The Cabbitship and Treeships you can buy with CP in Tenchi Muyo can be treated as items or as companions since they are sentient. Import one as your ACU.

Either way, you now have an ACU Companion. Import them into Worm...

There's also the Harden Object spell, which does exactly what it says. Research a high level version to increase the cap, and you could make a sheet of paper tough enough to bounce bullets off it.

There's also the Indomitability spell, which allows the target to survive the first damage-based attack that would normally kill it (someone just hit you with a broadside from an Iowa? you run away with 1 hp).

Spells: Convert (-100), Landbridge (-50), Swamp (-150), Flatten (-100), Erode (-250)

I AM A GOD! Like, habitually now.

It's not as addicting as it appears to be in movies, but that may be because the only people who ever follow me are stone age tribes and I only really like attention in extremely small amounts. I do like helping people, though. So, this jump is more about amassing followers than victory in battle, but they tend to go hand-in-hand if I put on a grand show and demoralize the enemy before things get too dangerous.

The tribes are, for the most part, fairly easily swayed once you kill all their Shamans. I won't claim a 100% conversion rate or anything, but my starting world was the only one that ended in anything close to the total destruction of the enemy armies. Inferno was probably not meant to be a happy place, but it is for the Matak, now.

The rest of the worlds saw the fall of the enemy Shaman and the rise of the Matak. Rebellions were put down, people were moved and forcibly integrated, and a system of farms and places of education were established. Ten years of constant societal unrest and war wasn't too bad, really. I mean, I've had worse.

So, to be clear Astral Beings are unable to be modified by any possible means save that one Morphean loophole? It's been a while since I've looked at Astral Realms but I thought going by their statline they basically are the same thing as spirits but for the Astral Realm.

>B)

The point is that the spirit abilities are technically /not/ Mage magic in the conventional sense. I don't see how it's "wanking" to approach a similar level of control by utilising and improving abilities which are SIMILAR rather than those governed by the jump.

>C)

For the first part I was thinking more in the way of analysing how the inverted onoiroi actually works and reverse engineering/extrapolating based on other magical theories rather than trying to directly view events happening before the Fall using other mystic study abilities. I felt the need to refer to the generator to justify the existence of limitless Rank 5 spirits.

>>48184133
From what I understand a spirit's power directly corresponds to the extent/wellbeing of its' domain so improving said domain naturally enhances the spirit and they feed on Essence emitted by said domains, but they can only go up Ranks by consuming other spirits. >Elven Enchantment

Curious-I distinctly remember talking to Marvel Anon about this but I can't seem to find a quote in the archive. But the technique of Elven Enchantment was supposedly the same as the one used to forge the One Ring and the other rings-unless I'm /critically/ misremembering a previous conversation, but I swore some other folks used it to forge objects of similar puissance-so I figured I'd use it to sacrifice the power of the Origin into an artifact. Namely, the recursive spirit energy reactor. Val reluctantly cleared it when I talked to her about it in thread a while ago.

http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/47946813/#47950665

>Origin

The concept of the original prototype of human genes, from which all other humans originated from. And because older=better as a general rule for conceptual primacy in Nasuland, it's apparently on-par with the sum total of the reality warping AI BB's mother goddess wishing authority. In Extra all humans contain it but it requires special access rights from the Moon Cell to unlock them-and even then it's seemingly only possible for Servants since they're essentially archived digital constructs to which those rights can apply to in the first place. In the final battle of CCC your Servant's Origin's power is unlocked in order to enable them to stand a chance against the Servant Route's final boss.

Jump 99: Battlestar Galactica
>Ace of Swords (An opportunity to bring reason and intelligence to bear in the pursuit of justice and truth. An excessive power that must not be abused.)
This is going to be one of those "may you live in interesting times" things, isn't it.
>Age: 33
>Location: Gemenon (orbit)
Wait a god damn minute, I thought the attack was supposed to happen a year from now, not an hour ago with the dust not even settling on the planetary surface.
Bloody hell.
>Identity: Scientist (-50)
Well, if I'm stuck on a wagon train to the stars, they're going to need someone who actually has the brains to help.
>Species: Human (0)
Deus vult!
>Scrappy (Free, Human)
Sounds like a good perk to go tubthumping with.
>A Mind That Burns Like A Fire (Free, Scientist)
It doesn't hurt to have increased flexibility in imagination, not to mention the aspects of making functional theories that much more quickly.
>Omnidisciplinarian (850, Scientist)
"But I must save the scientists!"
>No, Jumper. You are the scientists.
And then Crux was the Colonies' version of Stephen Hawking.
>Promotion Orders (x5: Flag Officer) (600)
I have every intention of using this, and then promptly dodging most responsibility that comes my way, just so I can pull this out when the plot demands it to prevent stupidity.
>Jumper's TO&E: Special Duty/Detatched (500)
This is how I dodge responsibility. Besides, using jumper powers to convert one hangar pod into hydroponics and the other into a manufacturing facility is probably a good idea, yeah?
>Battlestar Import: Sajuuk (0)
When a problem comes along, you must BRING SAJUUK TO BEAR. Before the cream sets out too long, BRING SAJUUK TO BEAR. When something's going wrong, BRING SAJUUK TO BEAR.
>>
>>48189806
After the opening credits, I began on the command deck of the Battlestar Sajuuk, a Mercury-class battlestar which has been pencilled into the books but otherwise has no assignment nor record of crew. Which is rather relevant, because there is not another soul on board. Of course having just jumped into orbit during the attack after the Cylons left orbit, it raises some flags. I know what is happening, and the command navigation program is removed from the systems while I start working on coming up with something of my own creation as quickly as I can. It will take a good long while to create something that will be fully functional on Colonial hardware without overtaxing it, but there's time enough to worry about that later. After all, I can bypass it thanks to shenanigans.

This is important because an intact battlestar would make Cylons worry. An intact battlestar that just jumped right back out makes them worry more. An intact battlestar that jumps to the mouth of the nebula that Ragnar Anchorage is in, in order to clear the way for the Galactica to jump away... now they're probably in a mild panic. Mine would be the third one, and even if Galactica may not have picked up on it, I definitely picked up on THEM and proceeded to follow them out from there, despite that I should not have been able to follow.

The Cylons started following, jumping in every 33 minutes. I let this go on for a short time before I decide enough is enough, get Adama on the horn, and ask him if he had anyone doing anything while they were decommissioning it. Devices in the CIC that don't belong, and so on. And once everyone starts looking... they realize that, hey, there IS in fact a Cylon device there. Suddenly, after the next jump, no one is jumping in after them. Good sign!

Galactica's water reserves get sabotaged a matter of days after that, but you've got a second battlestar with all kinds of water reserves, and I'd be happy to help out; after all, I have no crew needing it.
>>
>>48189817
>"Did I hear that correctly? No crew?"
>"Correct, Commander Adama."
>"How, exactly, is it that your battlestar is functioning without crew?"
>"A great deal of automation. Not Cylon, Fleet wouldn't be willing to give that sort of thing a chance to stab us in the back twice - quite different. Sajuuk is a test bed of sorts, it's a stroke of luck that she was armed, but the skeleton crew was on leave and I was watching the ship when the nukes dropped."
>"But no crew at all aside from yourself."
>"No, Commander. Completely scrapped the CNP in order to make it work, but work it does."
>"Completely scrapped the- do you even sleep, doctor Cross?"
>Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies. Though I've been meaning to mention, I DO have a full crew's worth of supplies over here, not just the water - send over a raptor, if you like, it'll do more good on Galactica than over here. Hell, if things calm down, I'll head over there and bring a bottle of ambrosia with."
>"...you're an odd one, doc, but I won't say no."
>"Oh, I do try. Speaking of which, I'd like to talk to you about search and rescue operations if and when we do meet face to face..."

And so Adama and I got drunk together, I passed him my paperwork saying that I was TECHNICALLY holding an admiral rank but outside the normal chain of command, we spoke with the acting president the next day and I passed my pips to him just so we could be certain that he wasn't outranked and to ensure I wouldn't pull any shenanigans. And with me being what I was - a scientist first and foremost, but with military rank - it provided an interesting counterbalance to the William Adama/Laura Roslin dynamic. And it also meant they got to let their hair down a little bit once in a while.
>>
>>48189820
I convinced Adama to lend me crew in order to do search and rescue operations; I wasn't insane enough to muck about the colonies, but charting probable outbound courses, sending raptors to check the area (and what a coincidence that the testbed-of-a-battlestar had raptors with upgraded scanners on them!), and jumping Sajuuk to any ships we found. And we did find many - some were already destroyed by Cylons, some were floating dead in space, some... had been stripped, and we heard nightmare stories about another battlestar. The Pegasus. Everyone was brought onto Sajuuk and given the option to go to the civilian fleet, as we were hardly going to press-gang anyone, and some very frank discussions were had with the newly-minted admiral and president. To wit: if we found Pegasus, we'd bring her to the fleet (without civilians present), go over there, and relieve her of command immediately.

That didn't happen for months, though, despite me trying to move the timeline along faster.

What did happen, however, is a riot on the prison ship. Tom Zarek instigated things, and then he had a most tragic heart attack. Can't blame that on anyone except the will of the gods, for the more superstitious members of the fleet.

>"...but for you, the people. The survivors of the holocaust and the children of humanity's future. I am Tom Zarek, and... and this is the first... f-first day of... a new... nngh..!"

Asserting control over the prisoners was a lot easier with their ringleader dead of natural causes. I was on Sajuuk and completely uninvolved, of course - if I'd been involved, I would have had to board that ship via some sort of strange magic, and use that same magic to induce cardiac arrest, then escape back to my ship all while evading anyone's notice.
>>
>>48189826
Duties necessitate me running back and forth between Sajuuk and Galactica periodically, and there are basically rotating staff manning it by this point; while it's largely automated, having people come over there and on Galactica for training under more experienced officers is definitely a plus. Of course, my fighter compliment was sent over to Galactica, and the hangar pods were converted - one is dedicated to hydroponics and the other to manufacture and fabrication of parts for the fleet - and these things give the dedicated civilian population useful work, to boot. Of course there are always other things, but with an empty battlestar, it means more breathing room throughout the fleet.

And then I get to meet doctor Gaius Baltar. Oh the fun I had trolling him.

>"Well! It's good to see that you managed to survive the bombing of Caprica City. Some might say God is watching out for you, Gaius."
>". . . w-w-what did you say?"
>"Oh, sorry, I must have overheard something that friend of yours said."
>"A f-friend, yes ... er, to whom are you referring, exactly?"
>"Oh, you know. Blonde, long-legged, red dress, standing over your shoulder running her mouth and thinking that I can't see her because she's only appearing to you and if she opens her mouth and says one more thing I'm going to bisect her because I'm not playing her frakking games."
>"Y-you-- you can... s-see..?"
>"Oh my, yes. That's why I'm speaking to you in your office rather than somewhere that others will overhear. She does like to hear herself prattle on, doesn't she? Blah blah twelve models blah blah god has a plan blah blah I'm an angel. He doesn't like being called a god, because he isn't one. She has delusions of grandeur - she's no angel, either."
>"What the frak... how do you..?!"
>>
>>48189829

>"Gaius. You are a scientist, are you not? Use that brain of yours. Let us suppose an intellect grows sufficiently advanced - as in, a sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. You know humans are essentially walking, talking, biological computers; Cylons are lower-tech emulations of such. With the right technology, you can write bits of data to a computer remotely, yes? Further advancement means that they can do that to peoples' brains as well."
>"Oh my gods. The implications-"
>"Yes, doctor Baltar, every bit as staggering as you think. You, for your failings, would not have done what you did without outside influence. Their problem is that they finally attracted a sufficient outside force that is frowning upon their shenanigans. Ah, and now she has heard enough and disappeared. Smart girl. If she reappears, give me a ring, will you? Consider the implications, after all, of what I've told you. Don't you think it's rather convenient that an off-the-books, empty and nigh-autonomous battlestar showed up in the fleet's hour of need?"
>"I... think I need to sit down."

It pretty much went off the rails from there. To make a long story short: it turns out that while Cylons share group memories, each has an individual soul. I tested that theory on Cavil while he was still on Galactica and later found that when his clone was activated on the Resurrection Ship, it was brain dead. He was the only one I used a killing curse on - this was all his fault - but I quietly rounded up the Cylons throughout the fleet, took them over to Sajuuk, sat them all down in a briefing room, and told them everything. And I do mean everything. The war was immediately called off, they dedicated their time to helping survivors (they had barely started the internment camps), and they gathered up their people and worked to clean up the damage they'd caused, before leaving in disgrace and swearing a pact never to return. The Ones were boxed.

Admittedly I don't know much about The Witcher, other than a) there's some sort of genocidal Elven eugenics conspiracy, b) Geralt lays more witches than he slays in the games according to Yahtzee and c) there is a surprising quantity of generic-verging-on-low fantasy and dearth of witchunting in general.

I guess I just sort of spent my time there as a glorified sidekick to Geralt? In a meta-sense, the guy in the tutorial who teaches you how to get started with the game. Except since this isn't a game I actually spent it comparing notes re: anti-magic with Geralt, and occasionally opening convenient portals.

The final five Cylons - that is, the Tighs, Tyrol, Anders, and Foster - had their memories restored. And then I promptly punched each of them in the face. Fools who thought they could play god, directly responsible for this mess. Their penance was to help restore the Twelve Colonies to better condition and live out their remaining days as humans.

Once things calmed down there... we ran into Pegasus, which was very confused by the Cylons all but disappearing. Helena Cain tried to pull the expected nonsense. I had already grown tired of the dramatic bullshit, told Adama that I would handle it before anything happened, and then teleported onto Pegasus' command deck, turning their radio on and transmitting to Galactica.

>"Helena Cain, you have been convicted in absentia of piracy and high treason. You and your staff will stand down immediately, or face execution."
>"How the frak- shoot him!"
>Gunfire is heard for about thirty seconds while the radio channel remains open.
>"Cute. I will tell you once more, Helena Cain, stand down or I will execute everyone in this room who fired on me. You killed dozens. Condemned hundreds to die in space. It would have been thousands had they not been rescued. Aaand you've reloaded despite every single bullet failing to strike me. Are you really that dense?"
>"I will not stand by while some... civilian, threatens my crew! No matter what trickery you're using!"
>"Admirable, but misguided. And the rest of you? ...Despite that you idiots saw her shoot her XO in the head? You realize that you were within rights to relieve her of command?"
>Gunfire is heard again for about fifteen seconds.
>"Well, I gave you all a chance."
>The channel cuts out for about five minutes, then resumes.
>"Admiral Adama, Pegasus CIC is secure and is powering down non-essential systems at this time. Please send over the appropriate personnel to pacify crew and assume command, but keep in mind that half the crew at this point was been press-ganged."
>>
>>48189858
Other than that? The 'angel' versions of Six and Baltar never bothered anyone else again. It may have something to do with the fact that they couldn't figure out where the hell I came from, nor how I managed to track down their source. It turns out that a jumper is much closer to a god than their 'god' was, and when a jumper makes a threat, they will happily remind whomever they threaten that they are fully capable of carrying out that threat.

I politely suggested they get hobbies other than repeatedly fucking over human civilizations for their own amusement and offered to befriend them should they decide to go back to their old ways.

And then, when my time was nearly up and the colonies were cleaned up, I mass-resurrected all the humans who were willing to come back to life after having died in the attacks (and wiped their memories of their deaths so they could remain sane). There was a rather impressive percentage of people willing to do so; let's hear it for epic spells.

2k post limits are bullshit.

/not sure if blog, just wanted to get this out there

I've noticed accusations relating to this to be kind of a recurring trend and so I've had to make this kind of announcement in the past before but I think it bears repeating: My first instinct has always been to explain my point of view, not attack others'. Even in the case of MtAw above I'm just discussing it here because I can't find Zediekel anymore so I just want to has out some ideas with some second opinions before I feel satisfied, and I do listen and I probably will bin the whole thing at this rate since I appear to have operated under some misunderstandings

But I'm rambling and getting off topic and what I'm trying to say here is: Please give me a chance to explain myself, because sometimes I misunderstand things and I do make an effort to listen to reason/fiat ruling. Irrational though it may be it hurts my feelings worse than anything when people accuse me of "wanking"

That was a fun read. Albeit the kind I normally would've associated with pastebins, but to be fair-pastebin sucks donkey dick and starts moving like treacle after too many words, on my browser at least.

I imagine the survivors were...somewhat intimidated by the impromptu Cylon Red Cross. About as frightened as the Citadel witnessing all the Reapers turn around and go WE FRIENDS NOW in the Synthesis ending, I imagine.

Also that must have been one big briefing room. Or one well-timed space enlargement spell. Or maybe since I've never watched BatGatt that's just a lot fewer Cylons than I'm imagining would be needed to crew a fleet, or the Sajuuk is just a lot bigger than I imagined.

Well, except-

In the game the protag needed some genius hacker girl-either Rin/possibly Rin's descendant or some new girl called Rani-to look for a backdoor in the Moon Cell after it kinda got all messed up from being hijacked by multiple people.
