So i guess prowess is the new U/R evergreen?

Will U/R prowess become tier 1 standard?

Welp modern delver is suddenly a thing again.

This and Sin Prodder is kind of cute

Lack of playable burn or cantrips is kind of damning
>>
>>48143091
It can make a good U/R deck into a great U/R deck. But I don't think U/R has the tools to be even a semi-decent deck in standard.

>So i guess prowess is the new U/R evergreen?
Ever since Origins, yeah
>>
>>48143123
Slip through space is fun

Expedite can be useful as a cantrip and on creatures that don't have haste inherently and can work as a cheap prowess trigger
>>
>>48143115
I'm expecting a preemptive ban in Modern, ala Treasure Cruise.
>>
>>48143048

I think this is more of a Burn card than Delver one. The fact that you can, essentially, draw 3 cards for RR on turn.

3/4 Prowess is a decent body for Modern, but it loses to many of the staple big creatures, unless your prowess it twice or so.
>>
>>48143292
Delver doesn't really care about the body, it only cares about the discard hand draw three etb ability.

This thing is literally a walking treasure cruise for two red, with the added benefit of complementing snapcaster mage shenanigans, its going to see play in delver because it basically gives delver a fresh hand on turn 4 and onwards.

Yes, as stated earlier.

Spell Queller enters, Trigger goes on stack to exile spell.

Essence flux the creature in response, 2nd trigger goes on stack and resolves before the first trigger does. First trigger then resolves exiling a spell.
>>
>>48143686

Permanently exiling? I think they do if you cast in response to the ETB trigger.

>>

Technically, couldn't you use this to exile multiple spells as well? Assuming they play more than one, you could get the normal Ring style counter as it enters again.

Do you know WHY those cards are bad though anon? Because they have full info of what they're chosing between. The reason Fact or Fiction is good is because the other player has no idea how to place the piles well because they don't have constant info of your hand.

The actual version of this card is even WORSE than ones where your opponent picks, because your opponent can game you with hidden information.

No idea why you're even calling me out on being a shitter. The card is LITERALLY unplayable as is, might as well have made it fun and let you mind-game your opponent.

>it has two separate triggers, though!
Yes, but neither are may triggers. Let's walk through what happens with this card specifically. Opponent casts let's say abrupt decay. You respond with ghost guy and target abrupt decay with him. Holding priority you then cast blue cloudshift targeting ghost guy. It exiles him and then he immediately comes back with a counter. Then, his leaves the battlefield and enters the battlefield abilities trigger. You have to target abrupt decay with enter and leaves references nothing so nothing happens. If ghost guy dies after decay gets exiled, they get to cast it. If you just bounce him to your hand or kill him then your idea works, but not like this.

You're wrong, because of how the game deals with creatures leaving the battlefield. I think the right term might be something like 'instances'? Point is, by the time the spells gets exiled the return ability that would give it back is tied to a separate 'instance' of the spirit. One that isn't on the battlefield so therefore it will never leave it.
>>
>>48144395
Arent they just being renamed to bundle or some shit and having thier price jacked up?
>>
>>48144313
They should make an elf that prevents creatures from using mana abilities.
>>
>>48144381
As the preview article points out, you can use this card to just kill a creature for B if you already have a board. Your version doesn't allow that, and yours don't even net more zombies than the printed version until 8+ mana.

but there's also a new exile trigger on top of the return and original exile trigger, so unless there's a second spell on the stack you still have to exile your original choice, making the blink moot. this works better with o-ring because there are generally more than one permanent in play at a time
>>
>>48144425
>You're wrong
Nope. Let's go through the stack one step at a time.

>Collected Company

Flash in Spell Queller.

>SQ's ETB trigger, targeting Collected Company
>Collected Company

Essence Flux Spell Queller. The "new" Spell Queller's trigger will be labeled SQ2; the original's will be SQ1.

>SQ1's "leaves the battlefield trigger"
>SQ2's ETB trigger, targeting Collected Company
>Collected Company

SQ1's LTB trigger resolves and does nothing. SQ2's ETB trigger resolves and exiles Collected Company. When SQ2 leaves the battlefield, your opponent gets to cast Collected Company.

In that case, the result will be one spell exiled permanently and one spell exiled until it leaves the battlefield.
>>

The trick is to cast it after casting a spell you own that you would lose to a counter then exile the counter then bounce it then exile the spell then kill the creature then cast the spell exiled for free.

Did you read the thread? The post that was in response to is about jumping through assinine hoops for little to no benefit. Yes, you could permanently exile their counterspell and recast you own spell for free by stacking triggers with a flicker effect and a sac outlet. But why? If you have a sac outlet anyway you can permanently exile their spell without bothering with the flicker, or, since it is a counterspell in the cited example, it will often not have any targets on the stack when Queller dies anyway, unless they use instant speed removal in response to you casting a spell.

Definitely Noosey. Its a creature, so it has immediate battlefield presence and you can have several copies in ypur hand without them being dead cards, doesn't need you to discard to be relevant and when you do you can discard one by one, so you can select exactly what you want to discard, while Zombie Infestation might make you discard something you'd rather keep in your hand.

Really, the only way I could see Zombie Infestation being more efficient and thus "better" than Noosey is in very dedicated graveyard decks, but even then I'd rather run the Snake for the flying hate.

lulz

At least that's how the fandom perceives him

Honestly the backstory we have on Tibalt is barebones. He was an apprentice stitcher but was too clumsy to make proper Skaabs. Instead of working on Skaabs he started working on humans, experimenting with pain tresholds and shit. Somehow devils noticed this and started hanging out at his place, giving him ideas. He slowly became madder and better at inflicting pain. Inquisition kicked the door in, he used some ancient devil spell, became half devil and ignited the spark. Then at one point he came back to Innistrad to torture the people a bit (seriously that was all we found out) and Sorin slapped him around for a while (not sure how that turned out but I assume Sorin won)

Obviously, Tibalt is a huge blank sheet, but if Wizards creative / writing team is only pretending to be incompetent, I can see him becoming an interesting, noteworthy character without resorting to ripping off Joker or Deadpool.

On Innistrad, devils are characterised as sadistic, crafty and stupid, much like goblins. It's also worth noting that they're bossed around by demons. I would totally be up for Tibalt who is a squire or a manservant of Ob Nixilis, being the Bladrick to his Blackadder.

Its good in stompy decks as a sort of removal
Were it a 1/2 it would be great in legacy 10-land

Anon, I said I already tried tineye and google reverse search. Both with no usable results.
Thanks for the hint though, appreciate it.

Thinking Peregrine Mask at the moment. I'm just looking for an effective way to get as many of these onto the board as possible for maximum funtimes. At higher cmc's, Infinite Reflections and Progenitor Mimic could be fun.

sorry hit submit by accident. its all based on the stack, and resolution order

Long boring example

Opponent casts spell A, in response you flash in your creature triggering the first ability and put it on the stack

Top of stack
Spell queller enter trigger
Spell A
Bottom

Before the trigger can resolve, both you and the opponent can cast instants, so lets say you use any sort of spell to bounce spell queller back to your hand

Top of stack
Bounce spell
Sell queller enter trigger
spell A
bottom

Nobody plays anything else allowing the bounce to resolve. This causes the 2nd ability to trigger and go on the stack.

The stack now looks like this

Top
Spell Queller leaving trigger
spell queller enter trigger
spell A
bottom
The next thing that has to resolve (because of stack order) is the leaving the field trigger. It resolves, but with no cards exiled nothing happens.

Stack now looks like this

Top
spell queller enter trigger
spell A
bottom

Spell quellers trigger enter trigger finally resolves exiling Spell A and emptying the stack.

I'd pay to see this
>>
>>48146440
Sorry anon, maybe I'll explain in depth some other time I'm not hungry.

Let's just say that a devil planeswalker was a good idea because Devils are a rare tribe and thus there would be a point to having a recurring character of that race that would give us insight of what devils are truly like, their customs and their similarities and differences with demons.

Tibalt is not just a devil though, he is a reject and a failure academically-speaking, which is a trait that gives him character since he's full of shortcomings and its their faults which make a character interesting and endearing.

On the technical department, two-mana walkers are very innovative and though Tibalt is shitty that doesn't mean 2cmc walkers need to be shit.

However, the way WotC handled him, making him the designated bad guy and how we got cockblocked in his fight vs Sorin plus a terrible card did ruin him.

I wouldn't be opposed at all to see Tibalt again though. He would probably make a more entertaining red than those boring Mary Sues of the Gatewatch.

First in, last out.

When Spell Queller first enters the battlefield, you cast Essence Flux in response to it's ETB trigger. Essence Flux is on the stack first, so it exiles Spell Queller (then returns it immediately with a +1/+1 counter). Since each instance of a permanent is not tied to its actual physical card, we'll call these SQα and SQβ, unless 4chan won't display Greek characters.

SQα's ETB trigger still has not gone off, but now that it's left the battlefield, the second trigger goes off. Meanwhile, SQβ's first ability goes on the stack. You can place these however you like, it doesn't matter. We'll put it like this:
>SQα second ability
>SQβ first ability
>SQα first ability

SQα's second trigger is AT THE TOP OF THE STACK. It goes off, and the spell exiled by SQα is cast. There IS NO SPELL EXILED though, so nothing happens.

SQβ is a SEPARATE INSTANCE of Spell Queller, despite being the same physical card. It can exile a second spell, if the opponent was casting more than one spell. This was really just to highlight that other than the physical card, it has NOTHING IN COMMON WITH SQα

Now everything ABOVE IT ON THE STACK is cleared out, so SQα's first ability will trigger and the spell that was targetting will be exiled. SQα is no longer on the battlefield, but the ability remains. The analogy I've found useful is this: "If you throw a grenade and get shot, the grenade still goes off".

Considering colour change is nearing obsolete nowdays, trading it for reach seems like a good deal. For all intents and purposes this is the new mongrel.
>>
>>48146746
Why does the extra toughness make it bad tho?
>>
>>48146234
Will they ever learn? Next we'll see another madness 0.
>>
>>48146883
>typing this much and being wrong
>>
>>48146915
Because it turns enemies it blocks into copies of itself which now have an extra toughness
>>
>>48146883
So Essence Flux won't ever let you exile a spell permanently if there's only one spell on the stack, because SQβ's ETB trigger will always resolve first and stick the only legal target under it?
>>
>>48146946
essence flux wont, but any spell that bounces, or exiles for a longer period of time (until endstep) can
>>
>>48146946
No. Triggered effects are placed on the stack when state-based actions are checked (and there is no checking of state-based actions during the resolution of effects, only before and after). Since Essence Flux' leaving-and-entering happens in one step, without checking state-based actions, both the leave trigger and enter trigger are put on stack at the same time - and because of that, YOU get to choose the order in which they resolve.
>>
>>48146875
It is ok anon.
>>
>>48143686
>>48143542

So I get essence flux wouldn't work to permanently exile the spell, unless there are 2 cards on the stack.

But wouldn't long road home work if you cast it before the ETB effect resolves, and you'd permanently exile that card, and gain a +1/1 counter?

>>48144191
>The card is LITERALLY unplayable

I feel I answered the wrong question. Maybe I should have slept longer. >>48146969 is right. I was focusing on why SQα still goes off and treating SQβ as an after thought.
>>
>>48146969
I mean, SQβ's ETB will always resolve before SQα's if you flicker your SQ, because SQα's ETB ability hits the stack before you get your chance to flicker it. Doesn't matter how you stack the other triggers - SQβ's ETB will ALWAYS be the top ETB and will stick the only legal target (your opponent's spell) underneath SQβ, with an LTB trigger yet to go off.
>>
>>48147047
>>48147028
Oh, I see what you mean. Yes, the exiled spell will still be subject to the leaves-the-battlefield clause because the LTB effect tied to the permanent whose ETB exiled the spell hasn't resolved yet

I was too busy considering how abilities were stacked to think what was actually asked

Odd, because I've been rooting for her and Emrakul since they finally revealed that it was Emrakul.

Something of consequence needs to happen during this blocks story that isn't Emrakul being destroyed or Liliana joining the Gatewatch. However knowing WotC the Gatewatch will drive off Emrakul, Sorin will regret not being able to save the plane himself and will survive, and Emrakul will be destroyed.

Meanwhile we already know Liliana joins the Gatewatch and Nahiri gets away
