You can also use this to play hot seat matches with a friend, but it is easiest if both teams are made under the same account.

If you and your friend(s) want to play continuous matches with player and team development, then the both of you will need your own accounts and teams. Making "League" teams will be the easiest to manage, as either of you can simply make a room and have the other one freely join it so long as they have the password made for the game.

If you want to play games with friends to practice, create a new team in the [L]eague division. That's the place for random practice and games with friends, as well as more organized private leagues.

A League team can play random matches against any other league team - just simply start a game and PM the game name to the person you want to play with; it's just that doing so may disqualify that team for entry into leagues that require fresh teams (like the /tg/ league, for example), but this just means you can create a separate team for practice and a team for league play.

What competitiveness is there? Most people mentioned in the last thread that Ayy would improve as a coach if he stuck it out with HE or a real team roster, rather than just staying bottom-tier forever as Goblins.

Farm teams will always happen in a league due to differences in skill, TV, or just differences in injuries/outcomes - someone will end up bottom of the barrel every season and be easy SPP pickings. But if a coach picks Goblins he is basically stepping up to be the whipping boy.

That's not what I said, if you actually read my post.

The presence of farm teams hardly ruins a league; in fact, what I'm trying to point out is that having "farm" teams is inevitable due to the random nature of match outcomes. Someone is always going to end up wearing the dunce cap, especially in a season only 6 games long.

However, *if* you pick a lower tier team, expect to be the bottom of the barrel from the very start.

If Ayy wanted to actually win and get good at the game, playing Goblins was not the way to do so. When a coach selects the Goblin or the Halfling roster, he should know full well that he's basically setting himself up for a season full of straight losses, even if he's a pretty good coach. It's pretty unreasonably to select Goblins and then complain you can't win and other teams are farming you - this is the expected outcome when you pick the Goblin or Halfling roster.

As for people giving Ayy shit for picking Goblins, well, that's probably just some banter that got in under his skin.

There's plenty of fairly harsh ribbing that goes in this league - coaches that have stuck with the same team since season 1 get called out on it, jabs get taken at particular players with monster growths, or people rag on coaches that have more luck than skill. No harm is generally intended but if any of it starts to get under the skin, then dropping out and getting some distance/perspective is the definitely the right call.

I actually think Dwarves are a tricky team recommendation for noobs. They punish overcommitment very badly, and really require thinking ahead several turns so as not to get outmaneuvered and using chainpushes or pushes into extra blocks.

If a new player puts in effort to actually learn the team, how to maximize blocks, and how to position to prevent easy dodges out of marking situations, etc., then good for them - but on the flip side it's very easy to fall into the habit of just trying to win via rolling as many 1d blocks as you can and praying for casualties, which is generally a pretty bad way to play any team.

Dwarves are also not very similar to Orcs at all. AG2 and no thrower means they cannot make handoff or pass plays in the same way, which means dwarves rarely try to set up handoff threats or do pass-into-cage plays. You can play Orcs like Dwarves for sure, but you cannot play Dwarves like Orcs.

Similar teams to Orcs are Chaos and Humans (and by extension Norse/Amazon/Slann).

Coaches have the right to pick any team they want from the CRP rosters, and other coaches are free to express their opinion (with or without anal pain) about it. If someone cares enough about those opinions to withdraw, then withdrawing is the wiser choice.

The troll can be a fun player if you have a goblin to throw with. Without knowing too much just have some basics:
Always stand up other players before risky stuff

Gutter Runners are super fast, marking them even if you can't punch them is good.

As Orcs you are slow, so don't be afraid to have a player in the back field, your Black Orcs should let you out bash them anyways.

Smack them down with blocks and blitzs so they can't move. Foul the Gutter runners so they can't move. Most importantly, make sure that when you end your turn that they have no where to move.

You have the overwhelming strength advantage even without the Troll.

If he wants to score quickly, let him. Punch whatever you can get your hands on in the meantime, everything but the gutter runners are only ag3 without dodge which means he's taking a risk any time he wants to try to escape a block on the next turn.

Once he's scored, the ball is yours. DON'T LET HIM HAVE IT. You're armor 9, even when your players get knocked down they will stand right back up. Hold the ball, protect it. Don't make risky breakaways, just keep moving up the field steadily. Eventually he will have to start throwing players in front of you to stop you, but that's just more players to punch.

If you can tie up the score in the first half and he's out several players compared to you, the second half is yours to win. Use your numbers and strength to lock down the Gutter Runners, get them on the ground or preferably out of the match.

Yea, Knights were unfortunate before in that they were the only player you could really use in a blitzer role but never could perform well in either of the blitzer styles. Agi access makes them weird AG3 elf blitzers since they can blodgestep up on normals, dauntless was already a popular skill for elves and they start out with it, and they're more viable as receivers now as they can't as easily be locked down as they used to once they've been skilled right.

Handoffs are a thing, if you are running more than 2 ghouls and can't get TDs on a wight as a result, you were never going to get TDs on them with only 2. And you have to fill the spots left by not taking extra ghouls with something, so it's not like it will magically give wights more mvps either.

It is a fair argument, ghouls and pestigors are the primary ball carriers for their teams. If a ghoul has wrestle he can't be an effective carrier because he doesn't have block and if someone dies then you may need to make your wrestle ghoul carry the ball. Same for the pest. Also you are never going to put leap on a ghoul. If undead are going to go cage diving they do it with a st 6 break tackle mummy or ramtut, not a ghoul.

A access has nothing to do with it. If your gutters die your storm vermin, thrower, and line rats are all ma 7 and ag3 and can carry the ball. If your ghoul dies only your other ghoul or your wights can carry the ball and losing a wight to ball carryingduty hurts. Same with nurgle, but to a lower extent. Nurgle is going to have 5 players on the field who are ag2 or lower and pestigors are the only ma6 player. Having dodge out of the box doesn't make ghouls good. Free dodge is only good for carrying the ball, screening, and blitzing. Most of the time your wights would be blitzing (and you don't want to blitz with a block less player) so av8 and regeneration are more valuable than av 7 dodge.

I didn't say all rat pieces could cage dive. I said gutters can cage dive and all rat pieces can carry the ball (except the rogre). I was saying wrestle is useful because the gutters cage dive and that the rest of the team has ag3.

Also a access doesn't have shit to do with cage diving. There are 7 cage diving skills, wrestle tackle strip ball break tackle leap and stunty. Only one of the 7 is a access and it relies on again 4 or 5.


Finally you can't control how many ghouls you are forced to field if you have too many on a roster. Same reason why humans only carry 1 catcher. Because it takes up a roster spot that could be used by a lino who could be out there taking the hits instead.

If you take 4 ghouls you will a have a hard time distributing the spp between all 4 ghouls and the 2 wights and b have a hard time protecting the ghouls. If you only carry 2 ghouls then you only need to protect 1-2 ghouls on a given drive, you can hide them on the bench easier if you need, and when the players are on the field you have that many more zombies on the field you can use to screen off your ghouls and wights. Same reason why lizards want as few skinks on the field at a time as possible and why generally they only care about protecting 2. Because it is easier to protect 2 guys with 9 than protect 4 guys with 7

I wish I knew about these before I got the willy humans cause these are so much nicer. But they are like $350 for the team and don't have enough linemen. Lots to do and not much time left. I'm going to try to keep it succinct.

Heckhounds(mc_cloud) vs Jazz Souls(LogicsFate)

First week was a messy win for the Elven Heckhounds, and a dirty win for the Undead Jazz souls.

The first half saw a a quick rise and fall of elven luck. As a failed pass is caught anyway, but the turn ends early anyway due to a failed block. The ball in freed and the Jazz Blitzer FLoS breaks away. but not far enough as a 1d brings her down. A 1-2 fuck up of failed blocks allows the Heckhounds to recover and almost score. The last few turns of the half looked a bit like a pinata breaking at a nurgle party. Hard to watch. A failed dodge, a failed block, and a a failed block, did nothing to stop the elven score. KOs and both downs, it was a good half.

The second half sees a 3TTD for the Jazz Souls via ghoul hand off and break away, partially thanks to Blitzer Brutus taking on the ball carrier alone. Next drive the heckhounds set up for elf bullshit but a failed pickup gives Jazz ghoul Tricky Sam a chance to steal. Tricky Sam, slides out of the pile of elves he finds himself under and saunters in for his second TD of the game. The elves set up again for a chance to even the game up and in the cheekiest move of this week opens a hole in the front line, jams a couple of elves in and punts the ball to the Undead end zone.(Is that even allowed?). Jazz souls collapses on the intruding elves and the lack of rerolls left leaves the elves high and dry. Re-RIP Professor Longhair, the elves turn and chances ended with you.

The most turnovers in one game this week. No elves even kind of hurt. Jazz souls Win 1-2

Walking Talking Fighting Walls(Pizzapocalypse) vs Irritable Republic Aelves(EddyDantes)

First Week was a roll over for Dwarven WTFW crushing their snotling opponents, and a bittersweet victory for the IRA crushing rats at the cost of runner "Bold" Thady Quill.

This game starts with a lesson from WTFW to IRA in the frenzy of the slayers. The elves were not even safe on offense thanks to a Dwarven Blitz. The elves try to push forward but hit the wall at the half field and lose the ball again and again to 1v1 hits from the dwarves. The elves never make it to the Walls half, Sean MacMahon failing a critical block to free up the ball carrier. The next attempt fumbled by Bishop Len "Slick Fingers" Brennan. The final crit failure comes from personal favorite linelf Michael Dwyer. His face plant allowed the Dwarfs to walk it in uncontested and immediately set up for their own drive.

2nd half sees potential for the Darkies, as they are playing 2 dudes up and have learned many hard lessons in the first half. The first lesson in the Green Monster deserves the boot for daring to score on them, several times. Some lesson bear repeating though, and the dwarves grind through on the back of a fail block from Father Ted. With a few turns left, the IRA pushes though, do what they do in times of stress and trust in Jack. Ft. Jack Hackett takes the ball and runs into and through the wall to put the Aelves on the board, again. The dwarves having never been score on before take their anger out on Young Hugh O'Donnell. May he rest in piece.

Week 1 saw the Vampire Blood Drive losing in a close match and the human's of ...Funny Team Name getting humiliated by some rat bastards.

I don't want to ruin this one if you haven't seen it. My personal favorite game of the week. From overrated Vampires giving it up to the thrall ball, to an improbible number of failed GFI and dodges. If you need something to do while waiting for rookies to catch up never then watch this.

Blitzers need guard, mighty blow, tackle, and pile on. Order is up to you just don't get pile on before mighty blow. Frenzy is also a good skill, but only take one and only after you have some guard on a player with mighty blow. Take all stat ups. On a 5+5 take the double. Black orcs need guard. So either go block as the first skill on all of them or guard as the first skill on 1 or 2 and block as the first skill on the rest. Block and guard are the 2 most important skills on a blocker so get both of them and then mighty blow as the third skill. Ignore all doubled and only take +st, otherwise take the single.


Orc linos take block. On the second skill take kick or tackle. On doubles take guard and the only stat you should take is +st

So people here were having an autisim race about ghouls but I really got to ask, how do you get the most out of them?

Like Undead is a slow bashy team, so they are the odd man out, do you just protect them until they can make a break for it?

And necro is a bit faster with the yiffs but not by much, is the role of the ghoul differant here?

Where does the wight fit in? Whos a better sacker? The speedier dude or block out of the box?

Necro only run one ghoul. His job is to get sure hands to prevent war dancer and gutter runners from fucking with you. The average necro td should involve a hand off to the wolf because of his great speed and because wolves need spp.

Necro wights are are the roll player who makes the wolves work. Either get 2 guard tackle wights or get a guard tackle wight and a pomb wight. Necro ghouls shouldn't play defense and no one on necro should take wrestle or strip ball. The great speed of the wolves is what you use to get sacks.

On undead you want 1-3 ghouls but never field more than 2 at a time if the can help it. The wights take tackle mighty blow and then the first one to 3 singles takes piling on and then frenzy is a good choice. The second wight can take guard after he has tackle and mighty blow and there is already already pomb on the team.

As for ghouls, one ghoul gets block sure hands and hides in a cage or behind a screen like a dwarf runner. The second ghoul gets block tackle and should he live long enough side step and diving tackle (and mighty blow).

On offense to generally want to either dwarf cage your way up the field or run a screen that involves a hand off to the wights or the block tackle ghoul. Whenever you can score with the wights. The block tackle ghoul on defense uses his great speed to be a safety and with block tackle he makes a good pseudo wight, especially if he has mighty blow. If he can survive to get 51 spp he is a great marker with his diving tackle.

So basically undead uses the wights as the main blitzers/sackers. And you only field 2 ghouls on offense, 1 on defense and keeping a third on the bench doesn't hurt.

Oh and the other thing. Second singles on a mummy should always be break tackle. On a 5 st mummy that means he can dodge into a cage on a 4+ or a 75% with a reroll, and usually throw a 2 die block. On a st 6 mummy that is now a 3+ to dive into a cage and an 89% chance with a reroll.

Because it is stupid? You are still trying to Block the guy in the cage and without Wrestle that doesn't do much. It makes much more sense getting a Agi 5 Ghoul for cage breaking than a mummy that can only walk 3 squares.

I think we gotta work with the tiebreaker system, it seems to favor bash and high AV by counting caus as just as valuable as TDs

I feel that first Tiebreaker should be purely TDs, then Caus, then Sum of the two

Just adding, getting a TD takes a lot more work than hurting players and shouldn't be as valuable. All you need is a few skills or a victim with low armor to get a badly hurt. To score, you need to punch through their line, and get the ball through in the allotted time. You can smash a whole bunch of skaven and not score once, but have a better tie breaker.

While I do agree on the fact that the cas tiebreaker is too high, at the same time our league is small and short enough that generally, the teams that make the cut are the ones that made it with their win scores. That still doesn't make it ok, but it's not the biggest deal, it will be once someone gets screwed by it and then the retarded bullying and memes will begin again.

That said, I do believe it can indeed be a bigger problem in rookies where there's only 2 playoff spots and generally rookies is bigger, so the chances of this problem manifesting are higher
