I want my Elves to be influenced by Lovecraftian myth but I don't really know enough to create such a thing by myself. They're going to be a major antagonist and are also non playable. Anyone have any ideas?

Nyarko is nothing like Nyarly and it's always sorta irked me. I love Nyarko but still... Why have a character based off of Nyarly if they aren't an asshole of the highest caliber?

Spooky idea for a monster. Elves that live in your walls, manifesting around the nooks and crannies of your house with bumps and knocks, attracted to the taste of your particularly bad nightmares. Pale as the moon with eyes as inky black as the back of your eyelids, and ratlike, scurrying in and out of sight, never to be seen in full but only in the corners of your eyes and the only to be heard in the far off depths of your house. At first they leave you only creaking boards and taps on the glass and bumps in the walls, but soon, their crafty instinct kicks in as the smell of your fear grows thicker. They begin to leave you little gifts and drawings all around your house, strangely familiar but ultimately strange. At first you are confused by their presence, little sculptures of lint and twine and scratchings in the cracking wallpaper, but as you stare, transfixed one night at a carving in your bedpost, you recognize them; little effigies of your own deepest, hidden fears. Your nightmares worsen and the terror cuts a little deeper, a little more raw each time into your gray matter, and you begin to see them everywhere; what once were fairy gifts of strange charm transform into the striking, clawing, tapping, nibbling hooks that dig into your brain and pull you down and away from body night after night.

Could be fun to put in a campaign as a little side note; as a character goes slowly insane from outside terrors, elves begin to gather in his own house to feast upon his ever darkening dreams.
