Jumpers, is there any way to get a female Darkseid as a waifu without becoming her slave or damning the entire multiverse to her ambitions?

Which infectious bite perk? pretty sure there are more than one. I think the van helsing one will, but you still need a way to grant control to the ones bitten otherwise they'll just shift whenever the bite forces it on them and not when they want to.
>>
>>48098428
No.
>>
>>48098428
Yes; take gender swapping as a rainmaker power in PS238, get stronk as all hell, get charismatic as all hell, combine charisma with violence until she falls for you.

How many jumpers have multiple chains going at once? If so, what are the differences between them?

Are you okay with mental reprograming? Because scoping out the parts of her mind that want to dominate everything and replacing them with something else seems like the least complicated solution.
>>
>>48098461
The Van Helsing one yes. Also I checked the archives and OAA said that you could choose weather or not people had control.

I could probably tell you one, but it wouldn't be what you want. Also, whats the fun of just telling you. The solution I'm currently thinking of involves science and d&d magic and/or psionics.

I just imagined that infectious bite would stack the forms on top of each other and that by default the transformation is permanent. Like, if you give them vampire and werewolf and dragon, instead of them getting three separate forms as well as keeping their original, that they're just permanently a Vampiric-Draconic-Werewolf.

Do we have any jumps with shield technology that absorbs energy from the attacks it stops? I know Mass Effect shielding and Void Shields deflect or otherwise absorb the particle beam, projectile or what have you, but I'm looking more to gather energy from enemy attacks.

Failing that, anyone know how I could potentially jury-rig my own?
>>
>>48098671
fine I'll tell you what my method was. You can look at using part or all of it at your discretion. Though attempting it on the real darkseid may be dangerous. Step one create a female darkseid clone. Step two implant a mind, mind seed from d&d puts a copy of your own mind in there. Step three, use the spell mindrape(d&d) to modify the implanted personality until it is how you want it.

So it's been made pretty clear by now that, regardless of what comic writers want to pretend is peak human, the MCU version of Captain America is blatantly superhuman. Can someone who knows more about this feats in the books tell me why this might be?

Is the serum better, or is it just this version of Steve that's stronger?

While I'm obviously not going to inject it into random people, I'm always looking for ways to reward and improve people, so I want to know which version I should grab. Beyond the obvious answer of "both".
>>
>>48098805
I think they mean 300 KPH, not leaping a whole 300 kilometers in one step.
>>
>>48098843
Steve's a mutant. The serum merely activated his X gene and changed how it manifests.
>>
>>48098854
But that's impossible since Cap's a good guy and all muties are evil scum
>>

Went Demon as it was a toss up between Demon or Angel. Preferred the Demon capstone as it's more about being a bastard and less about being resistant to things I'm already resistant to.

Greater than Man is a standard boost. Pretty strong one though.

Sins and Virtues means I can more easily obsess about things and empower those things. Probably pretty useful in settings where training one thing a bunch can let you reach ridiculous levels like a lot of anime.

Archetype seems the better choice than Hybrid when you don't really know what differentiates an Angel from a Demon in terms of powerset. Admittedly from what's been explained to me being the Archetype of Demons basically makes me the infernal equivalent to giant photorealistic legs so... not entirely sure what that does either.

I Want You lets me know what people want instinctively and convince people to do things. Pretty neat for something free.

Spirit of Domination lets me bend the shape of people's souls both before and after their deaths. Seems to let you attack people's willpower as well which could come in handy. More interesting than the Angel one which I've already got a lot of redundancy for.

Not sure what I'd go for for Sweet Threads/Weaponized Stylish Clothing. Maybe a blazer.

Demon's Rulebook is free and seems to have stuff in it that can improve my demonic chops so that's nice.

Took 2 lots of obsessed meaning it's challenging for me not to pursue whatever I'm obsessed with. May go for money as at least I'll get something out f it.

Fanservice means I'm going to be leered at which is fine.

Finally Panty and Stocking are after me. Think I'm pretty much the bad guy.
>>

I think that contemporary comic writers have a blender like device, but instead of having settings like fine, pulse or whatever the settings are dumb, really fucking dumb, holy shit that's retarded, and I wonder what bleach tastes like.

They just dump their universe in there, toss in the most vapid pop culture renditions of classic mythology and literature they can find, and randomly hit the aforementioned setting buttons until a comic happens.

Speaking of which, what did people do in the Black Bullet jump? Which offer did you go with or did you just tell the angel/devil expies to go screw themselves? The jump itself is sparse on info and paints a rather bleak outlook. I think the only time I've seen it talked about in jump was when Konata buried the world in acid rain.

Baby Darkseid is not innocent. Ds is a manifestation of the DC universe, much in the same way the Endless are parts of the DC universe, though he isn't as powerful. He is a cosmological constant and can neither be killed completely or changed for good.

No amount of huggy-bearing will make him a better person.

Honestly even comics Cap is way above peak human. He can throw his shield through a goddamn tank.

Also, I'm pretty sure MCU Cap is supposed to be superhuman anyway, so it's probably just a better serum from a Watsonian perspective. And the writers just wanted to emphasize the "super" in super soldier from a Doylist perspective.

>>48099444
Here are my notes. The setting was a bit depressing to writefag about.

Select neither option.
Use self-duplication to split into two full-powered copies.
Copy into a time-stasis field set "fast" with a bunch of samples and 4 science-type companions.
Task is to program nanomachines to prevent spread of Gastrea genetic material in host and if possible to provide options for complete removal (given this was jump #377, didn't bother rolling to see if it was successful).

Original self-duplicates again, original goes and does Promotor stuff with our new companion fighting Gastrea in the various cities and securing them from attack.
Once we have a cure, original is in charge of wiping out the Gastrea militarily, ramping the LoT up to planetary war production. Spray cure around cities gratuitously.

The half-powered copy goes about locating, sheltering, feeding, housing and educating the Cursed Children with the other 3 companions (V, KS and one of the nechronica girls - Alice, M or Ingrid? shouldn't be as affected as others by the depressing shit)
Smack the Tower Seed down somewhere on the equator, invite them all in, and they don't have to leave. All acquire Honored Guest status and the Tower's automated systems will be able to protect and provide for them, even if I don't come back.
I guess I invite the few non-abusive Promotors, too, if the Initiator wants, they just get Guest status.
Give nanobots to the Cursed Children once that research is done, allowing them to "pause" their infection or remove it and become normal. If they're normal, they can go back to living in the regular cities but I don't think they'd want to.

Once the Gastrea are wiped out (take samples first) and all the Children are either cured or isolated in the Tower, society should eventually stop the prejudiced BS. The Tower maintains a strict no-go zone with full signage and documentation in case any regular humans get stupid.

Marat 100

Calderon
Chala Bond
Partake of Strength 300
High Lord 900
One In All 1200
Weapon and Armour
Collared 1000

Not sure what to go with for Chala Bond. You get the eye colour and some of the powers of an animal. Think there's a terrorbird style one so probably that as I imagine I'd get some speed and kicking power.

Partake of Strength lets me eat people for some of their abilities. Pretty neat.

High Lord gives me a fury of each type and the furies seem to be pretty damn neat. Was difficult to decide between this and Ritualist but I couldn't find as many examples of the stuff Ritualists can do so went for this one.

One In All is totally ridiculous. People get proportionally stronger the more followers you've got as long as you're with them or have given them orders. When dealing with the large armies common in some settings this means you'll be leading people with absurd physical abilities. If you're leading 100,000 people and they're following your orders (say via a comm system) they all work at 610% of their physical abilities. Obviously you're not going to get tonnes of use out of this in a lot of places but it's always at least a little useful and occasionally really powerful.

Weird build for story purposes as I'm an outcast/slave Marat with experience as a noble of another race. Ah well, I'm sure I'll win my freedom/escape immediately.

You know what's always good for a laugh? Using Moloch's Razor to explain why your opponent's gear doesn't work...by shouting the Correspondence at them.

Of course, all of your OWN gear comes with Corresponence sigils on it that explain how they're totally real, you guys. As does having the Jam Semblance backed by all manner of spiritual mojo. And an extensive spirit court of humanised reality aspects is always handy; obviously you're realistic if reality agrees with you.

Dunno about that, but considering what comics Starfire is like I'm incresaingly impressed at how great Teen Titans made both of them. Just. The feat of making such terrible, terrible people into something CN was willing to broadcast.

It was pretty much the first instance of Wonder Woman done well so on the whole that title did actually go over pretty well with anyone who actually reads comics.

Nah, they had the whole enlightening civilization thing forever. That was one of the appeals of the civ for some groups. They were this functioning divine sponsored matriarchal utopia.

Now? Not so much. There was a ton of backlash when those issues dropped.

>>48099941
Google it. It's worth reading those pages and the backlash. The short version is someone takes Diana to school on how the Amazons reproduce and what the Amazons do with the male children.

I should be able to Befriend Wily after the first robot master incident and kick Bass's ass. Then I'll take Wily's place in taking over the world. I don't expect much resistance on that front, since normally one tiny robot is the one who has to save the world single-handedly. I'll probably have to stay content with South America if I want to avoid getting nuked.

I think I'm also probably morally obligated to make a human-like robot master body for Giffany to inhabit.

For people who read them and enjoy the stories? Yes. For people who use them as spring boards and overinvest in them personally? No.

I thought it was interesting and gave Diana something to react against other than Hurr Durr evil man society. Complexity is neat.

>It got nasty because Greek myths usually are.
Agreed. It was a pretty gritty modern take on what greek myths were like.

From a marketing standpoint though? Not so great.

All in all, some of the supernatural stuff from New 52 wasn't horrible. WW had potential at times, it felt like a American Gods / urban fantasy / noir thing for a while.

Don't forget their on Mars, which has left gravity than Earth has. If a person weighed 100 pounds on earth, they'd only be 38 pounds on Mars.

But shit's weird in Terraformars, Mars is like their moon or something, so I could very well be full of it.

I was on board the moment I saw what Poseidon looked like. Art in it was fucking great.

I don't think Wonder Woman has sold a lot of books for ages, she definitely sold a lot more in the New 52 than she was before the reboot and I've heard the TPBs of Azarello's run have also sold pretty well.

Ultimately a single page of rape-happy Amazons being posted repeatedly on tumblr and /co/ probably doesn't really affect sales that much. If something's good people will eventually clock on and buy it when it comes out as a paperback.

It was conveniently pretty self contained as a run as well so it's probably the sort of thing that'll sell in various other forms in the future.

It's implicit when you use the gravity as a unit of measurement that it's referring to Earth-standard. Besides, the statement wasn't that they could accelerate at 32,653 G, it was that they could go from 0 to 320 km/s in one second. Objective measurements, not affected by local gravity.

>>
>>48100352
I think Blam Blam Blam! from Blame does that.
>>
>>48100352
I think Selective Disintegration from Blame! does that. The text is a bit ambiguous, it might let you be selective on an individual level or selective based on categories of targets.
>>
>>48100341
Roachmen from mars also have scary good durability, which comes from being a roach.

I wonder if it would be worth taking roach as your mosaic organ.
>>
>>48100416
Selective Disintegration just lets you limit your GBE to affecting your targets clothing, it is literally just a rip off of the clothing destruction weapon one nutter in the setting made.
>>
>>48100341
And this is a manga, meaning it runs on Rule of Cool.
>>
>>48100445
No, that's the Anti-Clothing Beam you can get in the Blame Gakuen scenario. Selective Disintegration lets you:

>As the name suggests, you can control the degree to which your shots and attacks damage your foe and allies. Don’t want to injure them fatally? Fatally injure their armour instead! Just remember to be a decent person and don’t do this to humiliate people.

So yeah, it can disintegrate clothes, but the text suggests you can restrain it in other ways.

>>
>>48100508
If being able to use magic is an intrinsic part of their being, then yeah probably.
>>
>>48100508
>>48100531
They gain magic naturally, so, they'd have the ability to cast it, but no frame of reference to learn it from. The spells they'd get would, at best, be random, and at worst they might not learn to their full potential(read: they wouldn't learn as many spells as they're listed as knowing at the age category they are).
>>
>>48100617
If the spells are intrinsic, though, do they even have to learn them? Wouldn't they just know them?

Problem is Orikan isn't just intangible. He's displaced in time and space, so it's not like he's a spoopy ghost, rather he's in different whens and wheres and you're seeing after before and elsewhere images of him.
>>
>>48100508
Doesn't it only let you make things at 1/10 of the form's natural power?
>>
>>48100702
that's Echidna in Darkstalkers.
>>
>>48100672
If their magic is intrinsic, you can't teach them. For all intents and purposes, they learn like a Sorc and so they don't benefit from spellbooks or formal instruction.
>>
>>48100617
You could just take a cue from the aboleths and give them the genetic memory necessary to learn and understand magic. Or use one of those perks that let you teach skills to other people like magic and then teach make instructional videos or something to teach them how for you.
>>
>>48100743
What perks let you teach magic in general to people? Also
>ever taking cues from evil magic sea monsters
>>
>>48100707
So why wouldn't they grow to their full potential if their magic is intrinsic and they don't benefit from instruction?
>>
>>48100650
Since what>>48100690 says is the case. Having the Blame! perk and upgrading the holy fuck out of the GBE is fucking madatory, whether its using Artificer and making your gun a conceptual weapon that affects the person in the future, utilizing Starro Tech Notes from YJ to fuse the strongest Biology (self guided evolution via Evo or Geneforge),Magic(Overlord,D&D Enchantments), and Tech(Graviton Beam, maybe make it shoot antimatter as well) you have into that GBE while you power it up via microverse battery to assure absolute fucking decimation, hopefully.
>>
>>48100818
Is that within the scope of Artificer? I thought it was weaker than item creation EX from Fate.
>>
>>48100633
>>48100672
>>48100707
They progress in power as they get older. The older they get, the higher their effective level of sorcerer. So, it's intrinsic, but its power is also based on age.

There is also a slight problem with the fact that they learn spells derived from cleric domains, which, in some settings, might be different, or even non-existent. Then again, they're not learned as divine spells, so those spells are more than likely just derived from their own physiology, since each color of dragon learns a different set of domains worth of spells. Reds learning fire is probably as good an indication of that as anything.

They can, however, learn to cast like a wizard, or any other spellcasting class, as any creature with an intelligence of five or higher can take levels in any class. So, that might be a way to give them non-sorcerer spells.

>>48100810
General power level/presence or absence of magic in the setting they were turned into a dragon/achieved a new age category during.

Then again, they are basically giant batteries of arcane power, so that might not be an issue. Your fanwank, dude; do as you will.
>>
>>48099465
Could you use Moloch's Razor from Girl Genius to make that happen?
Just shout at the Johj until the square/cubed law tears them to bits?
>>
>>48100818
The question is not power here, if a GBE can hit something that thing is done, full stop. It casually blows apart materials kilometers thick that lolnope nuclear weapons without even the smallest hint of damage.
>>
>>48100839
Artificer from Tsukihime never confirmed a limit. You could probably learn through time how to create stronger and stronger conceptual weaponry since it says your only limit is the time and items necessary to create your craft.
What was the full power of EX item creation again? Was it equivalent to A Rank noble phantasms?
>>
>>48100903
It was A rank NPs yes.
>>
What would you guys say is a fair price to play as a Scourge in the Commorrah jump?
>>
>>48100880
I know the concern isn't power. The concern is making sure it hits the fucker. Thats why we need to cover every angle and make sire this thing hits thus the need to power it up with Magic (you could probably make an auto lock on homing spell that targets the soul or some shit) and making it conceptual so his weird time space fuckery can't save his sorry ass.
>>
>>48100938
Red Hook Alchemization, Self Made Shopkeeper using FF9 Dark Matter, and Observer from Blazblue.
>>
>>48100853
Depends on just how BS the actual setting is compared to the narrative text that accompanies the manga. E.g. the 320km/s in a single step has to be an analogy, not a 1:1 description of the scaling's consequences, otherwise it would take a comics-tier Flash-grade speedster with the firepower of comics-tier Superman to stop the johj.

It's a meme of Aldnoah.Zero. It's an okay mecha anime, not the best, would be better if Inaho wasn't the only character allowed to use his brain. It sells itself as scrappy real robot-types defeating OP super robots using clever tactics and knowledge of physics, but when Inaho's the only one figuring out the incredibly obvious solutions it just feels insulting. Don't ask us to applaud this character for figuring out that the beam-spamming mecha can only shoot direct fire and is therefore weak to artillery, or that the electricity-manipulator's attacks don't do anything if you're grounded. Anyone with a high school education could figure that out, as evidenced by the fact that Inaho is just some punk with a high school education.

Yup. I mean, only roughly the same amount of people will have the potential genes to awaken them in the first place, but if you want to grant powers to people, this is a way of doing so. Also, their kids are likely to get powers as well, so you can make a sustainable superhuman population.

Magitek Mastery from FF6. Literally lets you impart the beginnings of letting them learn the magic system and eventually they can get to full strength if you give them time and teaching.

Passing the Torch from Kairos can also pass magic systems off if you feel like doing it in a more personal way.

So this may be a weird question, but are there any settings like an adult version of Adventure Time? Oh? I would've thought the ability to make substitutes for materials that defy local universal physics would be top tier? E.g. artificial eezo from ME usable in Halo, artificial hypermatter from SW usable in Stargate, etc?

>>48102151
It's baby's first conceptual magic, it's actually incredibly powerful if used like any conceptual magic system should be; creatively, and in tandem with other systems to do terrible things to universal metaphysics.
>>
>>48102223
Oh, it's definitely useful. But in theory you can make even better materials with hypertech perks. Artificial Alloys still serves as a nice base to build your new materials out of, though. That's my preferred use of it.
>>
>>48102204
This should be included in the first post of every thread, there are a lot of settings that you would think would have jumps by now that don't likely because people think it is precluded from being made by an existing generic.

http://thaumcraft-4.wikia.com/wiki/Thaumcraft_4_Wiki

Thaumathurgy is the actual magic, though it's reliant on wands. Note that only advanced foci can throw fireballs, make shit Capital-U Unbreakable, and do Weird Space Shit to open holes in solid objects for you to walk through. Lost interest and didn't read the rest of that bit.

Alchemy is... my eyes glazed over that page, but it seems to be the usual "make shit, transform shit, etc" alchemy. Sorry.

Artificing seems to be usual enchanting and magical item creation. Something I noted for my own interests were goggles that let you see magic and Brains in Jars that absorbed Experience from nearby. Probably a lot more I'm missing because I haven't actually played it.

Golemancy is... I shouldn't have to explain what that is.

Enchanting seems to be the same as bae Minceraft but expanded. Meh.
>>
>>48102266
Conceptual magic is magic that works on abstract concepts rather than physical principles. So you're not setting something on fire by adding energy to it, you're imparting the concept of "on fire" directly to it. There's a lot of tendency to conflate conceptual magic with absolute magic, thinking that because something works via concepts that it's unbeatable. But unless otherwise said it should be assumed that it can still be avoided or defeated like other magics, just in a more unusual fashion than you might otherwise have to due to how it targets you.

At least one of the authors of a generic jump is pretty unhappy that their jump is seemingly preventing others from making less generic jumps on the subject matter, generic jumps were never meant to replace or prevent jumps made on specific material of that subject matter.

>>48102348
and a pair of transports.
>>
>>48102266

Thaumcraft lets you work with literal Ideas as Forms as the fundamental building blocks of reality, and other conceptual systems likewise work similarly in that you work directly with universal concepts.

A better example of conceptual magic than the nasuverse is any WoD setting, actually.

Thaumcraft is dependent on Aspects of things, which everything in the universe is made of, even the absence of things like the void between worlds has the aspect of Void, and with sufficient research into how to apply them, you can basically do all kinds of stupid shit. Aspects are generated by freely by Nodes, which can be altered and even created using Aspects.

Mystic bs compared to equivalent exchanges sciencey bs.

It's kinda like mystic chemistry as everything is made up of elemental aspects. You start with the main 6 Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Order, and Entropy then combine the aspects to get more and more complex ones until you eventually end up with stuff like Eldritch, Magic, Darkness, Undeath, etc.

Practically it's mostly focused on creating things or working through tools. Staffs can channel aspects to strike at enemies, Scepters are used for enchanting, and wands are the middle man. You can make some cool armour and equipment like a sword that lets you fly and call down lightning bolts to paving stones that increase the walking speed of people that travel upon them or prevent enemies from crossing them. You can enchant things to various effects including being virtually unbreakable. Mystic chemistry to transform stuff into other stuff. You can also make golems out of various materials that are decently intelligent depending on the core used to make them.

It has a lot of utility and it can be used to do almost anything if you have the ingenuity and don't mind extrapolating how a magic system would work across worlds.

Let me think on this and I'll add a note about what I decide. For now, I'm leaning toward it varying based on how much of a role genetics plays in it; in HP it wouldn't do much of anything, in D&D it might affect a Sorcerer's bloodline abilities but not their spells, would probably be a pretty straight buff for Dresden Wizards, etc.
>>
Okay, catching up with the last few threads, can I just say I'm having an aneurysm reading through the discussion about Mage the Awakening? You fucking idiots can't talk about this fucking setting for a single thread, whether you like it or hate it, without degrading into retardation. Whining about paradox, or subtle vs vulgar magic, or consensual reality, or any of this other bullshit that doesn't matter at all because jumpers are a walking outside context problem...

Magic from other settings don't have the same issues, and there are tricks to circumvent the setting's limitations entirely with even the slightest creativity, not least of which being to just not use the setting's own magic directly; have a proxy without any freewill do it. Same solution to the problem presented by the fact that you can't achieve Gnosis over 5, have a proxy without any freewill do it.

Or, have perks that interact with magic in a way other than just boosting your power.

Or resort to using Crimson Saint to create real technology capable of the same effects of the setting's magic without need to deal with Paradox. Technology in Mage isn't even real, it's all magic, how a jumper with real/clarketech would work let alone someone with Crimson Saint is anyone's guess, but it's probably stupid and broken.

Or mind control/brainwash/kill all of humanity simultaneously to manipulate the consensus of what reality is. Or spit out a fuck load of humans/human souls into the world with the desired understanding of reality, mind-slaved to you so that you can basically decide what's reality and what isn't if you don't want to kill anyone.

Or kill the demons as they come out as a result of your magic, it's not like you're even allowed to do anything that would attract the attention of anything too big, considering you've been disallowed from anything that could summon the really, truly dangerous shit, so it'd be trivial for a jumper to kill the motherfuckers.

I don't even like the setting.

Any chance we might see an Omega level option for Technopathy? It's already great as is but out of all the powers in there that don't have one I think it's the one I'd consider the coolest contender. Even if it was just a range extension.

Nah, you're good. I thought it was kinda BS, but the anon who claimed it DID ask the other guy - who apparently got asked over Twitter to intervene - for him to back off.

I just wish the first anon hadn't disappeared.
>>
>>48102774
No, I don't give a shit about your arguments, I only give a shit about you being retarded fucks one way or the other whenever the arguments come up.

I'd be happy if the arguments happened as long as the participants weren't completely debasing themselves as much as they usually do.
>>
>>48102800
Eh, like I said it's cool as is, and building networked tech is a good way to expand it. But sometimes having the larger base range would be nice. Figured there was no harm in asking.
>>
>>48102767
Not gonna lie, the main reason it doesn't have one now is I forgot about it when I was making the jump. Though most upgrades seem a little redundant anyway - especially range, since it works over the internet and wireless networks.

I did mean to clarify before that it wouldn't let you instagib something like Skynet, Ultron, or a TARDIS, so I guess I could say it would improve your ability to overcome more power computer systems?

I really kind of regret letting people upgrade powers, since it kind of defeats the purpose of the tiers in the first place. Has anyone not bought their powers at Omega level?
>>
>>48102716
So, what I'm hearing is, there isn't a jump because when one was made for us, we kicked it off, and the person for whom we kicked it off left anyway, in the process driving away one actual jump maker to protect one who never really made a jump to begin with?
>>
>>48102868

>>
>>48102853

>>
>>48102868
Here's what I remember: someone was saying they wanted someone who does quests to do it and messaged said quest guy on Twitter, who didn't actually know much about jumpchain. So the quest guy shows up with a quick mock up of an intro (that looked like QS's jumps, because that's what he was using for reference), but the thread tells him someone already claimed it and we only allow one. The guy was pretty cool about it and I think he offered some notes from where he was working on a separate MK CYOA or something to the the guy who claimed it and left.

No idea what happened after that.

It's tempting but honestly a lot of the perks I feel gave more long-term benefit. If you know what Equivalent Exchange can do on its own, and have the imagination to employ its unique functions and workings in tandem with what Thaumcraft is capable of on a base mechanical level, it isn't really much of a stretch. Also, speaking of Arrowverse Flash, something that annoyed me is that the writers apparently have no idea how fast lightning is, seeing as he saw a bolt of it moving in slow motiom back when his too speed was still under the sound barrier.

His speed from Apocolypse is even more absurd.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5S5u60eeNg

I haven't checked their math but regardless he casualy got shit done in the middle of an explosion. This can only be resolved with his feats in the movies as a form of super speed combined with a form of time manipulation.
>>
>>48103229
While the comics version is usually stronger Quicksilver is noted as being hilariously more powerful in the movies than he is in the comics.
>>
>>48103057
It really isn't wanked, no matter how much you insist it is, because extrapolating base mechanics away from feats isn't wanking.

No one calls it wanking to claim you can use Recipe Mode to learn how to build shit outside of Minecraft that weren't in the game, or to say that our tech and science perks work at all to let us make things that aren't explained to us outright and explicitly in the text, or in feats from where ever it's from.
>>
>>48103229
Quicksilver's.
>>
>>48103094
Were gonna need something for this
Gotta Go Fast Setup
Friction Manipulation(Worm)
Speedster(Arrowverse)
Omega Super speed(X-men)
Gift of the Legendary Hero (Negima)
Healing-Factor Gestalt+8 Gates (Naruto)
Soft-Cap (Elona)

At this point, there is a low limit on how fast you could go given time to train. Speedster physiology should actually allow you to move at FTL safely as a human if you actually ever get to that speed. If you really wanna go fast pick up "Limit-Off" from Blame! to straight up double your capabilities and remove your limits in exchange for each of your actions draining your health.

Well shit, I actually looked up speed calcs when making the jump, and then another when after seeing Apocalypse, and they seemed fairly credible.

Oh well, fuck it. I'm not changing it to let people go Mach 2000+. Can you imagine? I bet someone would have an aneurysm.

>>48103252
Can't Comics Quicksilver actually go lightspeed, depending on who's writing him?
>>
>>48103254
>No one calls it wanking to claim...aren't explained to us...explicitly in the text, or in feats from where ever it's from.

Actually, I do, and will. All of those things are wanking.

In fact, even if a perk says you can do something, if it's any greater than what a small country or army is capable of, then it's exaggeration or joking from the jumpmaker, because at some point we were better than we are now and didn't have to resort to legalese in perk text, and you can't actually do the things described.
>>
>>48103330
Comics quicksilver is more in line with the mach 4 in the un-upgraded perk, he is sometimes faster but pretty much never more than mach 20.
>>
>>48103254
Except that the perks in Minecraft don't give you technology or magic. They give you specific systems that you can make work. The idea that you can extrapolate out underlying principles from them is stupid, because there's no actual rules there. It's not science, it's reality-warping pretending to be science.
>>
>>48103330
I know there's at least one version/era of the 616 where Quicksilver can just straight up time travel.

Dragon and Changeling honestly seem over-priced. Dragon is 'some' kind of increase to overall power (you might want to clarify approximately how much of your power is sealed off or whether you can unlock it over decades-centuries). Changeling is 600 cp for what is basically magic plastic surgery, and doesn't seem nearly as useful as Birdwatcher.
>>
>>48103330

Best part about it you don't even need to get the speed perk anymore. Get Jar of Blood from Codex Alera which replicate the blood of anyone you encounter, Jurassic Park geneticist perk, and now thank to the update Omega Self-Molecular Manipulation and Gene-ius and your able to copy all of mutant powers in the setting.

What do you think is reasonable then? Maybe twice the power of the Rook 100, 200 and bishops 100, the rest of it is sealed away? I don't like putting numbers of these things, I'm more inclined to leave it up to the reader to go "Well it's 800cp and I get a powerful alt form, _______ seems reasonable"

>Changeling is 600 cp for what is basically magic plastic surgery, and doesn't seem nearly as useful as Birdwatcher.

>>
>>48103485
No I'm not. The Minecraft jump makes frequent reference that crafting recipes are fiat and don't actually follow any real logic. It also explicitly states that Equivalent Exchange does have a maximum of what it can do, and in that same passage implies that so do the other crafting perks.

Honestly, you'd be better folding them into each other, considering how both of them are implicitly themed after infiltration and misdirection.

Maybe bring Dragon down to 600 cp, or better explain how strong it is compared to canon characters?

You mentioned before that Dragon would probably let you merc Issei before he boosted to much, but Issei's powerlevel varies pretty dramatically over the course of the show, being a shounen protagonist. Maybe something more concrete?

Maybe also emphasize your ability to train and grow?
>>
So, if I'm remembering the early threads right, was there, or was there not, shall we say, "a spirited discussion," about what counts as an object for the purposes of being brought along in the Warehouse, vis a vis corpses, and the interaction between said objects and revival magic? And the end result of said, "discussion," was basically, "yeah it works, for most settings, but you're an absolute dickbag for repeatedly killing and reviving someone, with no real indication as to whether or not the physics of the next world you go to will allow them to be brought back to life, just to bring them along," wasn't it?

I had a thought relating to it, but with 100% less brutal murder-revival looping that I wanted to ask about.

And I feel like, even with that, I'm going to regret asking.
>>
>>48103536
Wow, and now you're claiming that crafting recipes only exist for minecraft items, and that recipe mode only works for minecraft items.
What's next, we can't go to the nether or something because it's a part of minecraft cosmology that only works in that particular jump?
>>
>>48103645
I'm pretty sure you can't without the Nether Eye Perk.
>to ‘safely’ use Nether Portals as ‘shortcuts’ between distant parts of the overworld. Additionally, Nether Portals will work in nonMinecraft worlds, guaranteeing you access to Nether only resources like Glowstone and Nether Wart.
>>
>>48103645
You can if you buy the perk that says "you know how to make Nether portals". Said perk states that the things you learn from it only work outside of Minecraft if you take the perk. Seriously, did you even read the jump before you started complaining about the mean old nerfer trying to ruin your fun?
>>
>>48103668
Yep.
>It is notable that all these effects work generally in this world, and anyone can learn them here; you just know it all from the start, and will be able to apply these effects with confidence in other worlds, or to things not normally found in this world.
>>
>>48103572
Interestingly enough based on what you see in the movies his power is a limited touch range time manipulation rather than super speed, that is how he is listening to music and easily manipulating things without always breaking them. When he throws someone they don't just keep flying at the speed he threw them, they slow down relative to him because they left the influence of his time bullshit.
>>
>>48103731
And yet in Days of Future Past he says that he needs to support peoples' heads or they get whiplash, and he generally holds true to that when moving people throughout. So I guess it's not a perfect inertia-manipulation interface. Some acceleration forces bleed through, just much lesser than they should be.
>>
>>48103758
Not really that was likely said due to in experience, he was causally carrying and throwing people at much higher "speeds" without any such concerns. All of his feats can be explained by a powerful but limited in function form of time manipulation, if he was really moving so fast he would have rolled Apoc alone.
>>
Does the immunity to what beat the last speedster apply to mundane methods of killing them? Would they start becoming immune to vigorous stabbing?
>>
>>48103815
Sorry, Arrowverse.
>>
>>48103645
Minecraft things only work exactly how they worked in the game and you cannot use them in any other way other than how demonstrated outright in the game.

You can't craft anything other than in-game items with the crafting bench, and you can't use Recipe Mode to know how to produce other items, you can't do anything with any of the 'tech' or 'magic' perks other than create the fiat powered machines and magic which only work exactly as demonstrated and can't be extrapolated to do anything else.

Because they work on fiat and aren't really technology or magic, neither tech boosting perks or magic boosting perks will work on them, and you can't use Conjoined Conjures or Crimson Saint on them either.

Now shut the fuck up about it and stop wanking this jump and its perks already.

Conjoined Conjures(Card Captors), Delineated Crafting(Terraria), and common sense stating that the upper limit we see in the mod itself is the only cap to its power are the only limiting factors in what it can and can't do.

Jumps based off of game logic are commonly assumed to function on real-world logic in-Jump, with game logic only being a limitation of the medium, not hard-set limitations of the world presented.
>>
>>48103867
>>48103888
No, I've just got the common sense to read the jump and understand that there's nothing to indicate the perks are capable of anything other than what they are in the game and by the perk text, they simply function by jumpchain fiat and can't be used to do anything else.
>>

There's nothing saying that they cannot be used to do everything else.

Can you point out where this is stated, either in Jump or in Minecraftanon's posts? Because so far I've found him saying that you can use crafting to make things that don't exist in Jump:
>You'd need to derive the recipes for non-Minecraft things first, or at least have an example handy. NEI: Recipe Mode may help, there.
That you can have factories produce things from outside Minecraft:
>Yes, in mods. Factories can be set to automatically produce anything you can normally make in-game.
>Mostly, that means automatically processing and refining your ore for you, but you could make a factory that automatically built train tracks, and use those tracks to send tanker carts to and from an automated oil refinery.
>In general, if you can build it not-in-Minecraft, you can probably figure out how to build it in-Minecraft, and if you can build it in-Minecraft, you can set an automated factory to build it for you repeatedly, given parts and power.
and that he probably has a Transformation Fetish (Confirmed within the next few pages), within the first page you get if you look for Minecraftanon as a Username and have Oldest posts first.

>Those limitations/mechanics are gameplay abstractions, you can go outside of that to do other things if you engineer it differently

This argument's been presented before and I've refuted it before; it remains the case that there is no evidence anything given by those mods are capable of anything outside what they can do in the game. There's no evidence that you can do anything with them other than what we've seen them do, and it's best said that they can't do anything else, as they simply function on jump fiat and aren't actually giving you access to a system of mechanics and functions.
>>
>>48104036
I think thats part of the point. I mean, why else would they make the jumps if they didnt want to jump it?

>Oooii! Shinigami-sama!
>SHINIGAMI CHOP!
Repeat ad nauseum for 10 years.
I explained that I was alien to the universe, and that my alien nature somehow made madness flow through me and fucked with my blood. I needed to be kept under control, and he agreed to do that. Every time the voices started making me crazy, he was more than happy to knock me into place. And it happened often. Hanging with Shinigami also meant hanging with Spirit, which earned me on odd sort of friendship with Maka, which gave me access to the plot when I needed it. I also explained how my companions had avoided the issue by incarnating into the universe, and special attention was given to those students.

I killed Medusa when she was the school nurse. Anti-magic from Generic Magical Girl, Soul Perception, and a million sense enhancement perks lets me track her pretty freely. Roberta has Dust Release and Lava Release from Naruto to actually kill her once I was able to keep her in one place. Shinigami was not happy that I melted the nurse, and I recieved many bops for that. And Toby ate her soul to become a Death Scythe.

My powers outside of the Madness of Whimsy made me a perfect replacement, though they had to leave people to monitor me when I was at my dayjob. Students were afraid, for some reason?

Thaumcraft's method of making magic is centered around research and discovery. You're basically sitting there saying, "No, you can't use the thing that's focused around research and discovery to research stuff from other dimensions and discover new things, because that's badwrongfun, and I don't like it!"

Add to that that Jumpchain is a single player game, and no one else's experiences with it will ever - ever - change your experiences with it unless you specifically allow them to, and you come across as an arrogant knowitall of a prick who needs to just fuck off.

>>48104112
I maintain that Thaumcraft has limited research and that you can't actually progress any differently with it than you would in the mod.
>>
>>48104037
Here's another quote from the Jumpmaker that I found that might apply to to this situation.
>Fanwank if you must. Rules of thumb are hardly immutable, and I'm not the fun police. If it makes for a better story, feel free to interpret conditions and rules as you see fit.
>When doing so, however, you should be aware that you are acting on non-standard suppositions instead of commonly-assumed rulings, and that might result in some people calling you out for playing bullshit games with your numbers, or the jump creator making a ruling that invalidates your build. If neither of these things is concerning to you, of course, feel free to disregard any and all rules in their entirety.
>It's your story, and your imagination, after all; we're just providing a common frame of reference.
>>
>>48104141
And I maintain that, if you have access to magical things that the mod doesn't provide you with, which, as a Jumper, you probably would, that there's nothing stopping you from scanning them and trying to figure out how they work so you can try to replicate them or their functions via thaumic reactions and discovering a few research-worthy ideas that branch out from there in the process, because that's the entire thing that Thaumcraft is based around.

We were chilling on Kiuchūsen when Chimmy woke up for the first time in 3000 years. It had started as meditation of some sort, being an epic level monk meant you could meditate pretty well. In the end, though, snoring is not conducive to good meditation. Still he was suddenly up and at 'em. I would have cried if the first thing he did was literally anything other than flirting with my son. A fistfight is as good a reunion as any, really.

They seemed to make good partners, though they mostly fight as separate beings. When they do get together, things tend to break in grand explosions of light.

Roberta
Meister, Weapon Partner Proficiency, Wavelength Communication, Soul Perception, Strong Soul (-200), Anti-Demon Wavelength (-400)
Toby
Demon Weapon [Bow], Mundane Weapon Form, Energy Amplification, "It's A Texture Thing", Partial Weapon Manifestation, Alternative Ammo, Soul Resonance Finisher (-600)

These two are demonbreakers and I couldn't be more proud. Roberta is specced for ranged combat and Toby's Finisher is trapping targets into a life-draining tree primed with Anti-Demon Wavelength. Thief of Life, Wood Release, and Green Ka'Karifer are a great combination. If they're tough enough to survive that, it's followed up with simply bullshit levels of damage that Roberta can put out with Fire, Lava, and Dust Release. They gained a reputation for killing clowns.

Demon Weapon [Repeating Crossbow], Mundane Weapon Form, Energy Amplification, "It's A Texture Thing", Partial Weapon Manifestation, Alternative Ammo, "Don't Wanna Walk" [Strap] (-100), Elemental Manipulation [Lightning] (-200), Mechanical Weapon Form (-300)

Falco is... well, her powers have left her pretty fucked up most of the time. As in, leave her in a dark room with a newspaper, she'll figure out and start screaming the secret names of Satan levels of fucked up. I should really get a power bestowing ability and give her Toggle. She's usually borrowing my jacket from Resident Evil to keep her powers suppressed to healthy levels. She also, unfortunately, can't wear clothes that as a knife. Asriel has been trying to help her from his palatial dollhouse estate, but he could really only do so much. Now that he can basically pump her soul full of anti-crazy, things seem to be going better. She still really likes eating souls, though. It's apparently a texture thing?

Isaac is his primary combat weapon, though. Asriel is a god-tier Heir of Heart, and has a notably strong soul (given to him by a human, if you remember the conditions under which you get him). He rains lightning down in a manner that impresses me, and I have Omega Weather Manipulation. It's even Anti-Demon lightning to boot, supercharged and melting evil left and right. Isaac for his part seems to enjoy bringing justice to the evil humans, to the point where he was the first of them to gain 99 evil souls and had to be persuaded using bribery to hunt a witch rather than start over.

With out looking at a specific Perk, probably not. They would need to already have a form (or alt form) that could become infected, and that form would become vampiric.

Depending on the type of vampire they are becomeing they might now be able to shapeshift to resemble a human externally though.

The Perk you are looking for to give someone an human alt form is "The Ultimate Disguise" from Unholy Heights. This is what is does, specifically.

Kerbals
Demon Weapons [Finger Blades], Mundane Weapon Form, Energy Amplification, "It's A Texture Thing", Partial Weapon Manifestation, Hybrid Weapon [tiny rockets](-300), Mechanical Weapon Form [tiny rockets](-300)

The Kerbals will attach themselves to anything using their blades and attempt to ascend into the stratosphere. They can't get very far on their own, though, so the sisters help them out by pumping them full of energy. As weapons, they aren't too effective, so the Choir has to use the Anti-Demon Wavelengths to actually do much more than scratch damage. The Kerbals are easily swayed by madness, but they're cute, so it evens out. It also helps that the Choir has other combat abilities. If they do get into melee, they won't hesitate to scratch any evil thing's eyes out.

There are a couple sentence cutoffs, like in the Sub-terrestrial origin. Also, is Got Game free to an origin? It's listed alongside the other freebies, but doesn't have one listed.

Goggles -> Handguns.

> Stocking: "Careful it doesn't go off in your eye."
> Me: "That only happened one time!"
> Panty: "Yeah, it stings like a bitch when it does that."

This is just fantasy.

No. Everything you see is just a shadow of reality, and you can't tell the difference because you have never seen the truth. Wake up.

If we have X-Men Telekinesis and Three Pounds of Dreams from Psychonauts, could we eventually reach the same level of ability as comic books Jean Grey?
>>
>>48105474
Jean Grey? Sure, TPoD is already an uncapped perk, X-Men TK will just make it happen quicker.

Jean Grey _with Phoenix Force_? I'd be stacking plenty of immortality perks to ensure I lived long enough. Phoenix boost be bullshit, yo.

Now that the next season is starting in a few hours, how is that D. Gray-man Jump coming?

What will happen if I take both angel and demons as companions?
>>
>>48105843
Probably a lot of rivalry and in-fighting, I would imagine.

Even if you somehow manage to unite them behind jumper, they're so different in personality, style, and general outlook that they'd be constantly at each other's throats.
