Jupiter is a forge world. In that it had vast shipyards orbiting it and its moons are there to support the production efforts.

Saturn (that is, its moons) are the home of the Solar Auxilia. In 40k they're mainly the base of operations for the Inquisition and the Grey Knights.

Uranus has some orbital colonies.

Neptune('s orbit) was a home to a ton of mutants and got purged by the Emperor.

I'm curious. What is the appeal of the Imperial Fists? Is it their scheme? Dorn/Sigismund/Pollux? Their fortress building shtick? I'm only asking as it seems like they get more love here than most legions. Dorn doesn't seem to be a particularly outstanding figure amongst the primarchs. Can someone clear the air for me?

Almost correct. In 'Aurelian' Lorgar is told by a FateWeaver that Guilliman and Lorgar's feud is meaningless as they both believe the other one hates them. Lorgar also states in 'Know No Fear' and 'Betrayer' that Calth and the reaving of Ultramar has a purpose in the grand scheme and is not a personal vendetta against Guilliman.

To be fair, the Thousand Sons were one of the most deadly legions despite being the smallest. It was almost an even playing field. Hell, if Magnus had actually tried to fight from the getgo on Prospero then they probably would have rebuked the SW but Magnus knew they'd be needed.

Actually, this brings up something that pisses me off. Magnus initially keeps from telling his legion that SW are coming and even refuses to fight until the very end because he knows the SW will be needed in the coming war but then what does he do? Gal Vorbak and Ashen Circle seem awesome to me, with great models as well. My only wish is that the Mhara Gal had rules half as decent as it's model, because that is perhaps one of my favorite models FW's ever made.

Headhunter Kill Teams and Lernean Terminators seem pretty decent, though I'm pretty tired right now and can't really remember all that much.

I've heard good things about the SoH's units, but that's it, really.

That's not the whole story though. Perturabo was happy to kill them marine by marine, he enjoyed every moment of it and was in no rush. There was no greater strategic objective and he didn't care that he might not get the chance to finish them off. Guilliman bailed out the ImpFists, and what did Perturabo do? He concentrated on making sure that they couldn't recover their dead. Yeah, I tried to differentiate their political madness with honest regular-issue madness.
Lots of planets think they can run things better than the Imperium can - on 40k's setting I see that as dumbness or naivety, not evil or madness (though those are factors that can, and often do spurr treachery)
As opposed to real madness like the Flawless Host's "WE CAN DO NO WRONG".
Both are bad and of a not too dissimilar nature if one wishes to see it that way, simply I try to draw a line between each.

Niggas, Huron wanted to launch a Crusade against a Warp Rift. Unlike the decent God Emperor fearing Eye of Terror who gave us it's reason to exist, the Malestrom wants to be an edgy rebel and not tell us its origin. Also Word Bears live in there. World Eaters, Death Guard, Sons of Horus, Emperors Children, Ultramarines and Iron Warriors all have RoW which let you do blobs well though, which legion are you interested in?

I should also have pointed out, Blackshields can do blobs well with the ability to ignore morale and pinning tests or get damage output bonuses for having lots of units in close cooperation or field entire armies of guys with S/T 5

How terrible would it be to model sniper vets with actual sniper rifles? I really like the idea of a bunch of Marines with sniper rifles (nor just scoped bolters), but recce squads are terribly expensive when compared to vets.

Speaking of the space sharks, how heretical would a shattered legions combo of loyalist death guard (in dusk raider colours) and terran raven guard (in carochadon colours, although still with a raven emblem on their shoulder) be? Couldn't decide between dusk raiders and RG, then thought why not both, and figured those two scheme colours would look good alongside each other. (Would put all the dusk raiders in Mk III and all the RG in Mk VI to meet the "must be distinguishable" shattered legions rule.) Also would prevent me having to paint a load of marines in black.
