Bullets cauterize entry wounds, too.
Ignoring that the blade would absolutely cool once inside the human body, probably more than enough to prevent perfect cauterization, the victim still has to contend with having a big ass piece of metal stuck through them. If it gets them some where non-vital, no biggy. If it severs a main artery or pierces something important like a liver or the heart or the brain, the person is dead, injuries cauterized or not.

Doing something cool for its own sake is called art (at the best of times). Weapons of war are tools, and tools are made to be pratical. Attaching an induction forge at the base of a blade is not pratical: I doesn't sufficiently improve the deadliness of the implement to justify the added resource costs and unwieldiness.
I mean, you're free to do whatever you want, including calling me the no-fun police, but at the end of the day a glowing sword with an expensive and probably unwieldy induction forge tapped to the not-pointy end isn't at all better than a regular sword.
And before you go "muh science," technological progress in terms of product design nowadays is an entire sector built as a fucking shrine to efficiency.

And when nobody likes you, you just tell yourself that it's you who don't like them, because they're definitely all too stupid for you to relate to, right?
But then if one of those normies walked up and acted like they wanted to be your friend you'd leap at the chance. You may be an introvert, but you're still incredibly lonely, and deep down you desperately need the affection of others - far more than you'd ever admit to yourself.

>>48020408
Yea, like, Ainz's big strength in the new world is that he took a bunch of normally useless shit that no one bothered with for the fluffiness, and some of it is turning out to be insanely good.
Like the skill that makes him immune to damage from low level stuff. Pointless in an end game MMO, but damn if it doesn't make him invincible now.
>>48019858
She wasn't anywhere close to max level, man.

said in the original MMO casters may not have been super OP but in the setting he gets put in, he martials are hilariously under powered. It doesn't help that Ainz can use high level martial gear with better proficiency than almost anyone in the setting.
>>48020550
She was one of the highest in the setting, yea, but that doesn't change the fact that she's like 30 to Ainz's 100, nevermind the fact that Ainz, for all his lack of optimization, is also packing end game gear.
If she'd have been a caster, he'd have destroyed her all the same.
It's the D&D equivalent of a level 20 wizard wandering around in a setting where the highest level is like, 5.
>>48019858

>>48020578

>>48020757

>>48020757

>>48020760

>>48020757
>Undead Dragons
those were explicitly made to counter casters though, they're immune to all magic 6th tier and below, which is the highest that normal humans in the new world can use.
>high tier angle
Well Stronoff was able to kill many angels before he was worn out, and I doubt that any normal human, caster or no, could've killed that angel since the Theocracy treated it as one of the strongest monsters in existence.
>>48020829
It was strong enough to hurt Ainz, and he explicitly has a special skill that prevents damage from low level stuff.
I don't remember if the LN actually listed it's level.
>>48020550
No, it is that Ainz is level 100 with multiple classes contributing to his total level. At best the most skilled magic users can cast 2-3rd level spells with a rare few that are consider major heros able to cast a 4th maybe even 5th but spells of the 8th level are consider mythical and belonging in the age of gods and the power of gods.
Ainz can cast 9th or 10th I think, along with his summoning abilities which are nearly unheard of in the potency of what monsters he can create. A mid level undead he creates form a soldiers corpse is able to solo a group of several soldiers because they would at best be like level 15-25.
In that settings most living creatures cannot get above say level 30, some creatures have a benefit with racial levels but humans basically genocided the vast majority of them in the distant past. Any level 100 character would be obscenely powerful. The reason he can later use martial gear is because they are world specific items that were granted to the World Champion who was his old guild member that when he quit he somehow transferred them to him which lets him temporarily shift his levels into martial levels.A martial of equal level would be able to fight him on a more equal footing, the problem is there just isn't anyone of that level in the stories yet since any player that got sucked in has been scattered throughout the worlds timeline.
Most people are fighting with totally mundane weapons so the fact that Ainz is high enough level to have a huge hp stock pile even as a caster, along with his skeleton races damage reduction, and ability to summon minor magical armor and weapons makes him stand out pretty far from the crowd, it is heavily implied that a lvl 100 caster is still physically much stronger than a lvl 20 fighter. Considering a basic Ogre is a serious threat to a squad of fighters, saying they are in the 20's may be generous

Easy mistake to make.
The focus on the anime isn't supposed to be on how powerful Ainz is in terms of it ever being a good fight, it's mostly about him dealing with his NPCs who are now living people, and dealing with the fact that he's in a weird new world(and the changes it's done to him as a person).
Anime didn't help the concept though, what with the fight scenes getting such major billing, but the scenes where Ainz fights were never meant to be about him being so much better.

Why are people on the internet always the type to take any statement as if it's meant to be a definitive statement? No matter how many vague terms or riders, people will always act like another poster was making a divine proclamation and jump in to say "but that's not true!".
Except that it is true. No, everything discussed on the site is not required to be the most weeaboo thing ever. But this entire site was explicitly created for Japanese things. /a/ came first. /tg/ is literally the traditional gaming subforum on a site for anime. Saying you don't want to remember anime exists on 4chan is and always has been a stupid, asinine statement. You're *aware* of this fact. It would be impossible not to be aware of it. >would not have wanted people to have puckle guns
Except this is false.
He, especially out of all the founding fathers, fucking adored our guns.
It's a sad state of affairs when you think that back then you could legally own a fully armed warship by the constitution but now these lefties want to make it hard to own anything.
"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
- Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776
"The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed."
- Thomas Jefferson, letter to to John Cartwright, 5 June 1824
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
- Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Constitution, Draft 1, 1776
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, August 19, 1785
So, sorry, but to say Thomas Jefferson or any of the founding fathers wouldn't have fapped over the concept of people having puckle guns is just wrong.

Short pew-pew-tubing means that the recoil's fairly light - probably not got much more noise or kick to it than an obrez, probably less so given the placement of the flippity-shell-hole and a likely lack of a decent seal on the gun's bang-room.

Fact of the matter is that Australia isn't comparable to the United States.
Far less than even 1/10th the population, and even less history behind it, and even less crime to start off with.
Not to forget the fact that Mass Shootings are incredibly ambiguous, and really don't matter for shit in the grand scheme of things.
A mass shooting is when 4 or more people are shot. Not even killed. Just shot.
57% of """mass shootings""" happen within the family, and are therefore not public and dont effect the general populace.
Another good chunk is gang-related including gang wars and drive-by shootings between gangs.
Actually, a majority of homicides are gang and or drug-related. Few have to do with innocent civilians.
Just about 1,600 or so people die of them.
They make up at most 4% of deaths via firearm.
Now take what I mentioned earlier, that 57-60% shouldn't matter anyways since they're in the home, and do some math and...
Mass Shootings make 1.9% of all gun deaths.
Stop using Mass Shootings as a measurement. They don't matter.
Do you think I care that around 33k people die in total from firearms when the CDC study obviously shows that at the very LEAST 500,000 innocent people avoid victimization by using their firearm?
Cuz I don't.
Far more people protect themselves than are harmed by firearms.
That is all that matters.
If you read the fucking CDC study like a good boy you'd know this.
Unless for some reason 33k people dying is significantly more important to you than 500,000 people (if we're being modest here, I could easily say the upper range as well) avoiding death/rape/theft/assault.
Then I just have to ask where YOUR heart is, if you'd rather see 500,000 people victimized than have 33,000 people (who are mostly thugs anyways) kick the bucket.
>>48027135
>at the very LEAST 500,000 innocent people avoid victimization by using their firearm?
That is an incredibly spurious way of reading that information, especially with all that other "you can't compare them!" shit you just said. Even then, basically no one ever is actually asking for a ban on all firearms. You don't need an assault rifle or military sniper or a flame thrower to defend against home invasion.
(Flamethrowers are actually legal for some reason)
I'd like common sense gun control and people like you to not make the argument that better regulation of dangerous weapons will somehow lead to more dangerous weapons.
>>48025569
>Nevermind that if you own a gun the person most likely to get shot with it is yourself.
This summary is misleading. The results are actually almost uniformly that guns dramatically increase one's rate of death by suicide, as you know if given a means to kill oneself easily you dramatically increase the risk of suicidal people kicking the bucket. Hence why banning guns immediately causes a drop in gun related deaths, you're taking them out of the hands of depressed people.
>>48027461
>Flamethrowers are actually legal for some reason
>for some reason
do u even flame pest clean m8?
>>48027461
Flamethrowers are used for ice removal in Alaska. Though such a use has vastly different fuel than military flamethrower use. Hence why the flamethrower ammo used during wartime is illegal for private use.
Assault rifles are damn necessary as a deterrent if you live near cartel territory on the southern border. Though I'm not some idiot redneck that dreams of reinacting Zulu with cartel goons. If the cartel wants you dead they generally have enough people to make you dead with or without an assault rifle. The point of the rifle is to make noise and let them know the risk/reward of storming your ranch.
These both basically come together to show that it's a very bad idea to have national gun control laws in a country as big an varied as the US. Keep those laws on a state or local level and use common sense on the sorts of weapons people actually need. In bear country you need high powered rifles. In the midwest normal hunting rifles need to be available for the occasional cougar, etc.
>>48027461
>(Flamethrowers are actually legal for some reason)
They aren't even regulated, m8, you can buy one at a hardware store. Almost like it's some kind of tool.
>>48027498
They're talking solely of homicides where the victim had a chance to defend themselves (because they were packing). Actually drawing your gun makes you more likely to get shot by someone else.
>>48027589
No one is talking about hunting rifles.
Although, really, in addition to things like better background checks, waiting periods, restricting fully automatic weapons, etcetera, we really just overall need a better gun culture. Switzerland has tons of guns, but they're also mostly in the hands of trained people with licenses (and more restrictions than the US) who don't have boners for Rambo movies.
>>48028407
Yeah the implication I was going for was that outside of bear country there is no need for what are essentially light anti-vehicle rifles, but there is a need in those areas. So outlaw them where they aren't necessary, but don't do it by having a big ass national law with tons of exception clauses. Do it by having comprehensive state gun laws that cover the legality or illegality of each type of gun within that state. Hell if there were the funding for it I'd want this down to the county, but I know that'd be way way too expensive.
>>48028407
Switzerland also benefits from not having massive amounts of poverty and a huge inequality of wages. Most violence in the US is directly tied to the drug trade and systemic poverty. If you treated folks better and rewarded them with a basic living wage for working within the system they would be far far less likely to rebel against the system with violence.
Obviously you still need better background checks for guns to filter out the crazies, but the on the ground everyday violence is caused by forcing people to be poor.
>>48028766
You don't really need "anti-vehicle" rifles. I mean, I don't really think anyone is saying get rid of all guns period, even the hunting rifles (except maybe people who think you shouldn't be hunting anyway). Frankly if we had better tracking and restrictions, I don't care what guns get sold. If you really need to shoot an AR-15 too get your dick up, whatever, keep it on the range and don't let your emo son know where the key is.

That image is so whiny and stupid. It's like saying people break laws because laws take away their freedumb.
Also, most of the country is in favour of common sense gun control. Gun control in America is going nowhere because the entire democratic republic system is broken and run by capitalism, and the NRA has a lot of money. That is literally it. I think statistically 90% of Americans think more background checks would be nice, but 90% of Americans don't get to vote, their representatives get to vote. And often those representatives have very little accountability, and at the local level they often end up completely unopposed.
>>48029487
I'm educated enough. You act like only /k/ should be allowed to talk about it. Knowing which guns are which has next to nothing to do with having an opinion on what should be done. It just triggers you when people get these things wrong.

Ok, so you started this convo by saying that fully automatic weapons should be banned.
However, it's entirely possible to buy fully automatic weapons right now, provided you jump through all the hoops, and practically zero gun violence comes from those weapons.
So why are you trying to ban them? You're fighting shadows and your own fear, instead of actually attempting to address gun violence issues.
Instead of attacking ghosts, why not attempt to address actual gun issues?

But half the time people aren't even being ridiculed. The examples given in that post have very clear reasons why they're not equivalencies. Also, again, the country itself actually wants stricter gun control. The representatives don't. That's because the way the government is set up, it doesn't really matter what the country wants.
