Why are skeletons always human skeletons?
The question is why are humans always skeleton humans?
>opposable thumbs
>relatively easily acquired
>most weaponry and armor is made human-sized

i don't think elven skeletons have pointy ears fampai

Just because you put a statement implied in a question doesn't make it true.
>>47930878
Depends on how lazy the artist is.
>>47930878
Have you ever stopped to consider how terrifying a fire-breathing dragon would be as a skeleton?
Even the most insane, twisted villain has nightmares: and that's what they'd look like.

How do you know they are? Do you have enough knowledge of anatomy to tell an elf skeleton apart from an orc skeleton apart from a human skeleton? I suppose you could discern if something was a dwarf or halfling or gnome skeleton, no one uses those so it wouldn't come up.

Because they're not

>what is a dracolich?

This nigger gets it.

>orc skeleton
larger brow, tusks, generally bigger bones, a bit taller than a human skeleton
>elf skeleton
thinner skull, generally smaller bones, a little taller than a human skeleton

I feel you wouldn't need to be an anthropologist to figure them out.
The difference between caucasoid/mongoloid/negroid skulls is already somewhat obvious.

Silly anon! Skeletons aren't humans, they're skeletons!
Silly anon.

>OP's pic
>Quite human-LIKE, but some distinct features showing that it is certainly not human-human from the skull alone- never mind the claw hands.
Ok Op.

Because humans tend to be numerous and exist in every part of a given game world, so it'd never be out of place to have human skeletons in a given area.
Of all of the types of skeletons that don't get hacked apart to make broth,
human skeletons are the most readily available to necromancers.
Cuz 'umies dies off eazy so'z there iz alot of em
>>47930878
Only humans have bony skeletons, dwarves have metal skeletons that can't be reanimated, elves have cartilage-based "bones" like sharks that are useless for necromancy.

What about Orcs? An Orc skeleton is probably way better for combat than a human skeleton would be.
Another thought is that Humans tend to keep all their dead in one place, other races less so.
