It depends on the character, really.

I'm using my other laptop, I have all my ladyknight art on the other one, damn.

Full-covering armor is infinitely better. Skimpy is just disappointing character and realism wise. You can be cute, ladylike or sexy in full-plate armor, it's just more nuanced.

I have a definite preference for covering. I like the look of relatively functional stuff, rather than metallic fetish-wear.

Full-covering armor or bust.
I even cringe at particularly breast-accented breastplates or cleavage in armor.

Skimpy armor is just bad in general, beyond raw titillation it's just something that makes you think "yes, this is smutty fantasy."

Full coverage? Let's be honest here, cleavage and the suggestion of form from a fat pair of chest puppies straining against a leather jerkin is better than anything you could get from a chainmail bikini.

I used to enjoy skimpy stuff, but I got overexposed. Now it just seems silly. If you're going to be fighting on the front lines you're not going to be wearing something with a boob window.
>>
>>47897853
Agreed, it's basically the armored version of sweater puppies. Although I'm a fan of the less functional armored short skirt/shorts over armored leggings.
>>
>>47897741
I think a lot of people here would even consider your pic to be too sexualized.
Obviously you need a breastplate to accommodate a dame's chest, but it has to be like >>47897812 or >>47897801
where it is integrated into the armor and doesn't curve down, creating a structural weakness on the underside by having an unnecessary groove. Also breasts should be bound in armor.

In addition, while a certain level of heel is necessary for using stirrups, those are stilletos, and far more than what is necessary to hook into a stirrup.

Also, cut your damn hair, you're begging that to get pulled in a fight, or caught in your helmet.

Lastly, her inner thigh is unprotected, there are several very major arteries that run along the inside of the thighs.

Do you think it's weird for a character in Golarion to be non-religious?
Not an atheist, mind you. Just that the character doesn't give a damn about deities and doesn't care enough to pray to something that won't answer.

Going to start a Kingmaker game soon. Party is a half-orc barbarian, an astral deva, and a succubus. What should I play to round out the party? Rules are 25 point buy, all Paizo and third party allowed.

So agnostic? I can see it happening for Dirt Farmer Frank who's too busy trying to farm dirt to feed his family, although considering how the gods are not only proven to exist but will quite often act either personally or through approved agents, I can't see why you would.
>>
>>47897961

Does this count as a skirt?

Because I just adore the idea of whirling skirts or dresses in the middle of battle (as long as they're wearing reasonable armor otherwise, though.)
>>

>>47897934
There's Rahadoum, which is militantly atheist, but it's heavily implied they are under divine punishment of sorts for it.
>>
>>47898005
I wouldn't even say agnostic, seeing as the gods are irrefutably, factually out there.
Character just doesn't give a shit.
Like, it's a fact that the gods are out there, but this character thinks that praying to them doesn't do shit and doesn't bother.
>>
>>47897965
you have damage, divine magic, a face, and control, so you have all the major stuff covered, except maybe trap stuff, which isn't really a concern in Kingmaker

So go wild and choose whatever. I'd personally go with a crafting character so the party can get the most out of their crap.

I've found that leather is highly overrated as an armor material. It's no better than a few layers of cloth when it's not hardened, and when it is, it's so stiff and noisy that it's not worth the hassle. I wish more fantasy would move away from the idea of leather as a staple light armor.

I brought up leather armor not because I think it's a good material, and more because stuff like plate doesn't lend itself to showing that yes, the woman has a notably large chest, and they *are* pressing against her outfit.

That said, could always go for chainmail.
>>
>>47898129
>Although honestly those are more in fashion with female light armor users like thieves.

Thieves and rogues and Rangers and all those other light-armor types, I feel, can pull off the "cleavage and slightly skimpy" look.

Mages and monks can just go whole hog and wear strips of silk.

Ladyknights need that protection, which means you won't get a lot in the way of form-fitting armor that shows off the goods... Still, that just makes it all the sweeter when they take off their cuirass after a hard day's fight and everyone's surprised to find a nice figure under all that steel.
>>
>>47898119
I don't know about feats, but there's the Rahadoumi Disbeliever trait that gives you +2 on saves vs. divine spells. It forces saves when your allies try to buff you though, so it's not that great.
>>
>>47898119
Faiths and Philosophies has them. The base feat is Divine Defiance (+2 saves vs divine spells and SLAs), and two of the more fun ones are Focused Disbelief (11+level SR vs divine spells) and Seed of Doubt (hexes cause target to make saves against all divine spells, including beneficial ones).

It's really just Focused Disbelief since it seems like 90% of outsiders you would fight are associated with some kind of god.

I agree it looks muddy, but that's part of the appeal. That picture there looks bad. I'm not sure if it's the bland colours, the highly pixelated linework (despite being a png, which makes me think it was blown up), the symbol is all out of whack, or that she has two one-handed swords and no shield, and her scabbard is over her shoulder.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to sheathe a weapon over your shoulder?
>>
>>47898487
Yes I do, its fucking impossible.
>>
>>47898487
I'm willing to let the over the should scabbards and artwork alone on that picture. It looks more like someone practicing and learning. Not that I enjoy the art, though, or even that I have room to talk because I'm even worse.

Also over the should scabbards are "cool." Definitely not something I'd hold against someone for trying to do in game.
>>
>>47898524
That's fair, I shouldn't shut someone down if they are in their early stages and are dedicated to improving.

I've just seen people stick to a particular style their entire life well into their forties and it's terrible.

Are guns available? if so, do you have a blunderbus or shotgun? if not, get one; spread shotting is excellent for helping you against swarms and hordes of smaller enemies.

Pick up some Drow poison so you can make people with low fort saves pass out for easy pickup.

Do you have a hat of disguise? That'll help you get into places where your marks are, and hide your natural weapons under an illusion.

Robe of infinite twine is also a good investment; cheap but useful, as every adventurer wants rope.

Traveler's Any-tool is in the same position as the robe.

I've watched a lot of comic artists progress their art over decades long webcomics.

Dresden Codak, Gunnerkrigg, EGS. It's always better in the long run.

>>47898793
>>47898800

I just reflexively check it along with the other two dozen webcomics I read. It'd be nice if he ever advanced the plot.
>>
>>47898487
If you have a minute where you're not distracted by a fight, you can generally do it without much trouble. It's mainly just awful for drawing in combat. Over-the-shoulder scabbards are fine, but as traveling sheaths, not combat-ready ones.

>>47898156
That's fair. And really, my complaint wasn't so much directed at you, as it was a tangential complaint that your comment reminded me of. No worries!
>>
>>47898810
>Dresden Codak, Gunnerkrigg, EGS
Don't disagree with the first two, link to the third, please. However, sometimes people value consistency for their art. Personally I don't think the art is bad, but it's definitely not as good as the first two you listed. It could also be stylization to help create a mood for the comic.
>>

>>
>>47898838
egscomics.com

It was...pretty weird for the first few years. It's levelled out a lot, and it's pretty evident the early plots were when he was much younger.

Still, for art progression, definitely the case.

>>47898832
Yeah, you can sling it over your shoulder like a rifle for marching, so it's not bumping against your leg, but you don't actually sheath it there. You normally steady a sheath with one hand, to draw it by feel or phantom coordination.
>>
>>47898855
Use the same guy multiple times
>>
>>47898810
The thing about Gunnerkrig is that Tom has had a lot of it planned out since the very beginning. He likely has more time to work on developing his art since he has the plot laid out.

With Misfile, Hazelton likely wasn't planning long term, so there was no need to work on his art.

+1 to hit from a trait with a damn good weapon is about as badass as it gets. Go half-elf, swap skill focus for EWP, and you're already on the way there. Options at that point are
> (a) ranger with favoured enemy human
> (b) Fighter
> (c) any class that would not normally have a sword but benefits from it.

Heck, if you want to be less metagame about it, go Elf and just use the bonus for the longsword - but a Finesse weapon that you can Two-Hand is pretty nice for the whole power attack deal. You wouldn't be the first elf to pull out a longsword and make the enemy hesitate.

Not to argue that commoners AREN'T total shit, but they still get feats as normal. A level 1 human commoner still has two feats.
>>
>>47899177
Problem is that training thing.
You're going to be made to adventure or otherwise interact with the world as a commoner.
You won't get to actually "apply" to get training from any but specific classes decided for you by the DM.

This will end up as one hell of a clusterfuck.
>>
>>47899292
What even would you spend your feats on? You're competent at nothing. The best use of your time is to put all your feats / skill points into making money so you can just buy level reassignment surgery.
>>
>>47899250
I wouldn't mind playing in Pathfinder. Me and my players have toyed with the idea of playing dirt farmers who eventually becomes adventurers to protect their little hamlet.

The issue is that Pathfinder is designed to have characters be competent at a few things, to have the rolls meaningfully do anything.

Without pretty decent bonuses, you're completely at the whim of the dice, and your meticulously crafted character has no consistency in the things he might actually be capable in.

That town sheriff is lucky to be a Commoner 3/Fighter 2. Good luck grappling a thug with any consistency.

A bigger issue is, as anon above had mentioned, you get none of this shit before training as a wizard or cleric, and none of this shit at all before BAM: SORC/ORACLE 1st. The latter in particular have nothing, and one day now they have it.

Same with nonstandard classes; once you've got your soul-weapon you're a soulknife variant.

It's said Aegis require training, but what is undefined.
>>

That wouldn't be a strength check, that would use your carrying capacity.

>>
>>47899177
I've played pathfinder a stock goblins attacking a farm filled with stock commoners. The commoners have pitch forks and other farm implements at random. The goblins have shitty knives.

Every time you die, you take a shot, become the GM, and the GM enters the field as a new stock goblin.
>>
>>47899343
You should be able to lift 14,720 pounds over your head at that strength. And twice that off the ground.

Fuck the cart, you can lift fourteen horses off the ground over your head.
>>
>>47899343
Your lift overhead load at 46 strength for a medium critter is 14720 pounds. With an anthaul spell it would come out to 44160. There's absolutely no reason you had to roll anything unless it was made out of bullshitium.

The thing is, that Commoner isn't representative of the NPC classes.

Commoner is to the other NPC Classes what those other NPC classes are to PC classes.

It's the NPC Class's NPC Class.

Adepts get divine casting and a familiar. Good will save.

Experts get to choose their 10 class skills and get 6+Int ranks a level. Good will save.

Warriors and Aristocrats get full Martial proficiency, shield proficiency, and armor proficiency. Warriors get a good Fort save and a d10 HD, Aristos get a good Will save, a scad more class skills and more ranks, with only a d8 HD.

Commoner gets SHIT.

I can understand the struggle.

Being commoner for more than one level is outrageous though.

If, for some reason, I was inclined to do this kind of thing, people spend maybe the first session as commoners. Level Zero.

Then, after that session, something happens, and they swap over to their choice of Not-100%-Shit NPC class. Then something more significant happens, and they swap into a proper PC class.

Like how in some RPGs you have the intro sequence where you're playing a kid armed with a stick.
>>

I would play this.

An Adept could be a minor follower for a shrine, a Warrior could be in the town guard and Aristocrat/Expert writes themselves.

The DM apparently has a thing for girl/girl and used my character's tough knight fiancé to scratch his itch.

Because *apparently* a girl decked out in full plate and enough strength to slay a Minotaur can't POSSIBLY love the dick! Nope! Can't happen at all!

He had the gall to try and excuse the girl/girl by telling me it "doesn't count" because it's not another guy.

Worst part is the character was written as a spunky action-girl tomboy from my character backstory. Half his reason for adventure was to fight by her side and become one of those cool power-couples with Leadership taking her as a cohort.

He took liberties he should not have and the only thing for him to do to not look like a tool is to undo the damage and apologize.

How could you "accidentally" bring a girl to bed and already have her all prepped and ready to go when your lover-boy walks in? That's hot as hell yes, but that's such a flagrant breach of the character I wrote it's just absolutely infuriating.

>>47900008
>I don't see how that's relevant.

It was a classic adorable love-story, my character was the one that helped her through the hard-times during childhood and the path to becoming knights. The whole idea behind the character was being able to convey feelings through expression and body language, very sappy.
>>

It's basically the standard doppelganger plot.

Replace you, and do shit things that everyone blames you for.

The alternative being that it killed you and took your place. In which case maybe his waifu has been dead for a couple weeks and the doppelganger just fucked up the ruse, or thought he'd throw her out so it can go back to its doppelganger business.

Then he has to resurrect the waifu.

So Fool's Errand looks kinda cool (reminds me of an old Brawler Fighter I played in 4e, I might have to work on rebuilding him), but I have a couple of questions.

First, does Lesson V: Expression increase my effective reach for the purposes of maintaining a grasp? Being able to keep people grasped at a 50 foot range would be really nice.

Also, since grasps count as melee attacks for the purposes of targeting, if I use Fool's Errand Style to make grasp attempts in place of melee attacks while I'm using Lesson V: Expression, do I also grasp creatures in a 15 foot cone from my target? That would be pretty badass, especially if the stance does increase my effective reach for maintaining a grasp.

Oh, forgot one, just a clarification: can boosts be initiated in the middle of other actions? Many boosts let you initiate them on a trigger, which is likely to happen as part of another action, so it seems like that's the case. I'm thinking of something like initiating Flowing Dance of the Fool while using Lesson IV: The Ladder, grasping an adjacent target, leaping 50 feet into the air, then initiating To the Skies to throw them another 50 feet straight up and follow, then using the attack action/strike granted from Flowing Dance to finish them off (probably with Snapping Turtle Rush to push them another 20 feet up, since Iron Tortoise is my second discipline). That combo hinges on me being able to initiate To the Skies after the movement from Flowing Dance, but before the attack action/strike that Flowing Dance allows me to make.

Slutty "armor" is fine as long as it's that kind of setting, or everyone accepts it doesn't serve as armor.

Realistic armor is good, and there's no reason why girl (or guy) couldn't look sexy while wearing something practical.

But what I hate are bullshit cleavage armor or boobplate or horribly bulky male armor that pretends it's still supposed to be effective and practical in a setting that present combat as somewhat realistic. Do one or the other, but don't try to combine it.

I dunno what kind of GM you are or play with, but my GM always asks us for permission if he wants to do anything to our characters' families, friends or loved ones.

Your next line will be "But what about the surprise factor?"
In response I say: as a mature adult I can play the 1-2 sessions before the reveal as if I didn't know.

There's this thing called GM/player trust, and the GM fucking up one of the backing NPCs of your character without asking is a clear breach of that trust, no matter the reasoning.

Your next line will be ">Nothing bad should ever happen to my character or any NPC he likes!"
In response I say: as a mature adult I can see when an unfortunate event befalling one of those NPCs would be a great story element, and have no issue allowing it if I am comfortable with the circumstances. For example, if the GM wanted to turn my character's wife into a lesbian that then divorces him, I'd obviously not agree. If the GM wanted that same NPC to be kidnapped, I'd have no issue with it. Meanwhile, having my character's cousin turn lesbian is perfectly fine by me.

That isn't how charm works, if you cast charm on a person that isn't sexually attracted to you then they, at most, see you as a very close platonic friend.

Aside from that I can only see two things. (a) they're smart about it and fill their sorceror spells with damage spells while their wizard uses evocation as a prohibited school (b) they get out paced by always being behind on higher level spells.

Even with that in mind, a factor bisexuals are fairly keen to remind people of to get rid of the "all bisexuals are sluts" cliche is that a bisexual person can still be in a monogamous heterosexual relationship (or a monogamous homosexual one) without being gay or straight. They're still bi, that doesn't mean they can't be monogamous.

Besides, unlike real life, there's no guesswork in this. You can write down for each character what their orientation is if for some reason that's important.

That said, jesus, I have never seen a GM mess with an NPC love interest like that. I'm a foreverGM and I work with what my players have in mind when they end up waifuing an NPC or have a backstory love interest. I've never heard of a GM so moronic he'd fuck with that and expect the player to take that lying down.

I agree with you, but I'm also pointing out even if she WAS bisexual it wouldn't matter because she was already in a committed relationship with anon's character.

Real life bisexuals don't typically wander around with a woman on one arm and a man on the other having threesomes all the time. The GM should take the player's word for it that their love interest isn't bi, and fucking NOBODY should assume a PC and an NPC that are engaged are going to be OK with polyamory unless the PC is into that.

So here's my GM's (been playing with him for 20+ years) list of character creation for his homebrew game. It's his first time GMing Pathfinder, we used to play 2nd ed for years and years before we made the switch to PF 3 years ago.

15 pt. buy, gain 1 point buy point every level starting at 1st (so effectively a 16 point buy at 1st, at 2nd your character would be a 17 point buy, at 10th your character would be a 25 point buy. You can save points to upgrade ability scores later on).
Gestalt for classes, but one class must be able to cast or use curative magics, combine skill points of both classes.
Gestalt becomes the character's 'class' in that it's use the combination you pick at 1st level or you can select just one class if you want to multiclass.
Full and partial caster classes can't use the same caster stat as another full or partial caster if taken as part of a gestalt combination.
No 3rd party books and no prestige classes.

I've got a few ideas for a full arcane caster, partial something else, probably bard. Any ideas anyone for something 'Wizardly' that can also have a healing type added to it realitvely easily?

That's why it became how I described it, anon.

San Fran used to be the city of poor artists and gays, it's always had a large homeless population but it was largely well-known for being more about being queer and loving it.

Since Silicon Valley went from "successful" to "world-shaking", the rent has gone up but only the middle-aged white guys coming in to work at Google or Apple can keep up with the rising prices. People who have been living in San Fran since forever are starting to go from "fashionably poor" to "actually poor" and the technocrats coming in do little but give them a pat on the shoulder, say, "I feel your struggle" and go home to what is essentially a conservative-valued home.

If you want to do Lore: Forest-dwelling Monsters, you have to go further and specify the region, like Lore: Mosswood Forest-dweeling monster.

>And? Insane bigots are part of all movements and most social groups. For every off-their-nut activist there's a preacher talking just as much shit. Extremism is its own problem.

I think what the anon is pointing out is that there's no attempt to actually say the extremists are wrong.

You get called a FUCKING WHITE MALE? Just grin and bear it, because nobody's going to say that's not actually true.

You get called a FUCKING QUEER? Congratulations, because you've just got a movie on Lifetime and a small army of people on Twitter saying how beautiful you are.

I think he's talking about background skills anon
>>
>>47901508
Lore is one of the two new skills introduced as part of the Background Skills section of Pathfinder Unchained. It's basically a super-specific version of a Knowledge skill... one of the examples given is Lore (Elves).

The other skill is Artistry, by the way, to represent things like being able to compose (but not play) music or something similar.

Yeah, but while the preacher gets called out on their shit the off-their-nut activist is given a pat on the back.

When's the last time you've ever seen a crazy activist get stopped?

Read the damn skill?

> Lore skills normally can't be used to identify monsters the way Knowledge skills can, unless they refer to a specific type of monster (such as owlbears or vampires). If Lore involves a common, broad category of race or monster, it needs to be more specific. Lore (elves) would be too broad, as would Lore (dragons).
>>
>>47901594
Oh wow, that's even more specific than I remembered. So yeah, Lore (Oozes) is right the fuck out.

I feel like you're setting up a boogie man, or are somehow conflating SocJus Diversity issues with welfare in order to fuel a narrative.
>inb4 mean mr whity is keeping us out of STEM
No. As someone who is in a STEM field and has known people from different nationalities and walks of life enter these fields (one of my mates in my field lab is French-Panamanian and another is a lesbian, and that's not to mention that around 50% are some variety of Latin American), the answer is because most of the heavily SocJus supportive people tend to focus more on Liberal Arts and English degrees than actual STEM degrees, and rather than being the change that they want to see, to them its easier to whine about it since that doesn't require them to study biology and math
>>
>>47901610
I'm >>47901553, and I wasn't trying to support using Lore the way that other guy was, I was just pointing out that it is, in fact, a skill that exists in Pathfinder. I was using Lore (Elves) to point out how specific it had to be... but even then, I misremembered the example, and it turns out it'd have to be even more specific than that.
>>
>>47901610
>>47901616
Meanwhile, you could, if you were so inclined, put ranks into Lore: Black Puddings.

If you really super-wanted to.

And this would probably get you stuff beyond just knowledge. Things like their diet, facts about how fast they can melt through certain objects, reproductive habits, how they were first created...
>>
So since we're on the subject of Lore, how specific would I have to go?
Lore (Azlant)?
Lore (Aroden)?
Do those have to be more specific?
>>
>>47901649
If that city was only an occasional stop off in the campaign, sure
>>
>>47901649
Nope.

> If Lore involves a common, broad category of race or monster, it needs to be more specific.

This pretty much mean Lore skill can only use to identify one specific monster specie.
>>
>>47901539

That said, it's fairly rare for anything worse than being called names to happen to a white dude being discriminated against while there is still a pretty alarming murder and assault rate for minorities being discriminated against.
>>
>>47901689
Aroden would work since it is a specific person/deity.

Azlant is too broad, gotta specific it down to Azlant's history or Azlant's technology and such.

>it's fairly rare for anything worse than being called names to happen to a white dude being discriminated

I understand where you're coming from, Anon. My character had a wife and some new player joins, first thing he does, rapes her.

Claimed it was in-character, and the GM said it was a-ok. Punch that fucker right in the jaw and left. Found out afterwards the GM invited him specifically to do that, since I had gotten on his bad side lately by dating his older sister.

I went to his apartment to apologize, asked to take a shit, went into his room, found his phone on the charger, swiped it, and while I was on the shitter, sent out a quick mass text that he had contracted herpes and I sent a quick text to his girlfriend, calling her a fat, ugly, good for nothing NEET camwhore.

Left, gave him a hug, and now he hates my guts. Feels good though.

What are some good maneuvers for a Zweihander Sentinel? I haven't used PoW before so I have no idea what I'm doing. I know I wanna tank, which means Iron Tortoise is gonna be good, and Scarlet Throne seems like a good backup since a lot of it's strikes allow me to move my heavily armored ass around.

Also, please post more ladyknights. Preferably with greatswords. Cheesecake is welcome.

>>47901352
gestalt in Bard, I've thought about it in the past and it's pretty dang awesome for the varied spell list. I think Inquisitor is like the cleric-y version of a Bard, if you want to go more smitey.

as to what wizarding type? Enchanter or Illusionist would make sense with Bard, or I hear good things about the Summoner. Alchemist might be neat for really diving deep into something that hasn't been done before.
