Dreugh, Breton.

Hard to choose really. As much as I like Altmeri women, they're too tall. Orismer are revolting. Bosmer are pretty, but I wouldn't want my son being a Bosmer, and Dunmer are my favorite, but they're sloots.

Moon Sugar isn't a drug. Skooma seems to be a psychedelic with some sedative effects, maybe like a mix of lsd and heroin?

Moon Sugar is a drug. It's said to send Kahjiit who use too much of it into fits of religious ecstasy.
>It has analgesic and soporific effects; it makes users "happy and stupid." In humans, its consumption causes a euphoric state followed by complete exhaustion.

From in-game texts and other info it seems to be combination of opiate, psychedelic and stimulant high, so it's really unique and no drug like that exists in real life. Basically skooma gives you addictive opiate like euphoria (and a similar withdrawal to opium/morphine if you regularly use it), psychedelic effects (like hallucinations in extreme cases, but more commonly it seems to be limited to altered states of thinking and perception) and makes you speedy like amphetamines.
>>
>>47861038
Play Morrowind. One of the main characters smokes Moon Sugar on the regular, and is said to handle the high better than most Khajiit.

Bretons are kind of messed up.

The thing about the "stereotypical" magical pseudo-medieval setting that many see High Rock as, is that such a place has never existed. It's a setting where every aspect is overdone. The people are extra magical, the knights extra honourable, the land extra full of adventure, the farmers are extra repressed, and the nobles are extra scheming. Mystical Merish high society and downtrodden lowlife. And so much local variety.
Other humans don't act like this, they'd find the society weird.
But Manmer do. Their normal is weird.

The Breton mix of dynamic mannish traits and stagnant merish culture led to a weird mix where there's one aspect of the society that's incredibly rigid, with noble lines, social divides and tradition, but at the same time everyone is magical and prone to seek their own hills, become kings and adventurers. "All" Breton nobles want to be their own king, but their dynamic traits only work within their rigid system. I find this whole mix to be extremely strange, when you consider the fact that this is all normal behaviour for the Bretons.

I can only imagine that the Imperials look at the way Breton society works and finds it weird and rigid, while the Altmer find the Breton system all too dynamic and changing. It's certainly weird.

Then again this comes down to interpretation right now, since there's still unknown aspects of the Bretons. My view is Daggerfall-inspired, mostly.
>>
>Moon sugar is a grainy powder of small white crystals refined from cane grasses of Elseweyr's coasts and estuaries. Used as a spice in Elsweyr, it has modest magical properties, and is also a potent narcotic, and illegal in Morrowind and the rest of the Empire. Criminals have attempted to grow moon sugar grasses in Vvardenfell, without success.
>Over the past couple of months several people across Solstheim have been poisoned...with moon sugar. Someone has been slipping it into their food and wine. They experience temporary euphoria, and then complete exhaustion
>I sat down to some wine, and moments later realized something was wrong. I am a law-biding man, %PCName, and have never experienced anything so...free, in all my life! The laughing, the dancing...it was horrible!
>>
>>47861122
There is also Uncle Sweetshare who makes Moon Sugar candies. In that case the high is described as very strong and quite psychedelic. Confessions of a Skooma Eater and the way it's used to make slaves more obedient in original Morrowind game makes it seem more like that Moon Sugar is more "harmless" with high akin to raw opium and Skooma is like Laudanum or morphine extracts in general, but stat bonus it gives is in line with stimulants, so it's pretty weird drug.
>>
>>47861132
No, in the cornerclub you go to, they say he smokes Moon Sugar, and you find Moon Sugar on his roof, in his inventory, and in dialogue he says he got in trouble with The Empire for smoking so much Sugar.

He smoked Moon Sugar.
>>
>>47861237
>There is also Uncle Sweetshare who makes Moon Sugar candies.
It's legal in Highrock and Skyrim, now. The candies are too expensive, though.

Just feed me more good Elsweyr lore. I want to know how that fucking place functions. Give me politics, cities, rulers and trade. Basically the Daggerfall treatment, where we got tons of regional info about High Rock and Hammerfell.

>most fuggable
Hard to say. I like tall girls, but I don't like Altmer. Bosmer are worst elves.
So probably Dunmer. Or a nice Orsimer lass.

>>47860582
Amusingly enough, in Daggerfall being a female Bosmer means you get no changes to your stats. They're the most average people possible.
>>
>>47861341
Wasn't possession of it (and skooma) technically legal in Morrowind too? I'm pretty sure they banned only the trade, similarly to Dwemer artifacts and Ebony, but really only Moon Sugar ban seems to enforced at all.

Nothing much to tell, I haven't played yet due to scheduling, but I have my character sheet filled out, got the character's personality, backstory, flaws and aspirations planned out, and now I'm waiting.

The campaign from what I was told is going to take place around Old Ebonheart, my character is to be a representative from the Mages Guild seeking expansion into Old Ebonheart where I'll meet the other players, an Argonian Fighter and a Khajiit Thief. Sounds like it's going to be fun.

The best solution is to eat all of that moonsugar in the second they are trying to arrest you and run the fuck away.
From that moment on you need to rely on wild training and exercise in nature, punching kwama with hit and run tactics, eating everything you find in hopes that it makes you stronger, eventually you become Tarzan Nerevarine.
>>
>>47862843
"Diplomatic immunity" is more of an approximate term, obviously the Blades aren't diplomats.
I'm sure the higher up Hlaalu/Imperials know to turn a blind eye to the Blades as long as they aren't hurting anything or commiting roguish acts.

Juggalos are the most fascinating breed of white trash. They're even classified as a gang by the FBI.
If you're into bad movies, I honestly recommend Big Money Rustlas. See it with friends.

As for Tamriel, Juggalos would be a cult that couldn't decide if they liked Sanguine or Sheo the best, so they got high and worshipped both with extremely shitty ritual music.

Molag Bal willingly lose against the Soulless One and allows you to go as far as you do because he wants a paragon vestige as his champion.

By allowing the companions to complete the ritual that embodies the Soulless one with a part of the power of Akatosh he will know if the Soulless is corruptible or not sine Akatosh wouldn't lend out his power to some shitstain who don't know better. Since they complete the ritual and Akatosh bestows part of his power onto you, he kills you. He doesn't do instantly but pretends to lose so he can give back your soul in a way that doesn't raise suspicions. Once you get it back you're no longer a paragon vestige. Meaning your immortality sooner or later will wear off. The Soulless one depleting the amulet of kings of it's power for centuries to come is just a bonus.
>>
>>47869176
Sounds pretty dumb. I like the theory that 'vestiges' are just Nirn's immune system kicking in during a Daedric infection.
>>

>>
>>47869176
> he will know if the Soulless is corruptible or not sine Akatosh wouldn't lend out his power to some shitstain
Except for this WHOOOLE ritual is retarded and makes Martin's sacrifice look like a joke.
WHAT WAS THE POINT OF A DRAGONBORN SACRIFICING HIMSELF AND BREAKING AMULET OF KINGS AT THAT IF THERE WAS A WAY FOR A NON-DRAGONBORN TO PUNCH THE SHIT OUT OF A DAEDRIC PRINCE IN HIS OWN REALM EVEN WITHOUT BREAKING THE AMULET?
Good job on making Martin die in vain Zenimax Online.
>>
>>47869212
That's retarded, where were the vesitges during other Daedric invasions? How about the one Daedric invasion that was successful unlike Molag Bal's, you know, that of a Mehrunes Dagon where he basically own and was seconds away from fully making Nirn his plane?
Vestige would have been pretty fuckin' useful there wouldn't he.
But nope, Martin and CoC had to suck it up and do it like men without shitty vestiges, and the lines of the emperors had to fucking end too.

Why is vestige called a vestige? Always seemed stupid to me.
Vestige is Daedric equivalent to an Anuic Remnant, same way soul is made up of magicka storing body, memory and anuic remnant their soul is made up of magicka storing body, memory and an azure plasm vestige.

I also hate the contrived and retarded idea about how Daedra are created.
Apparently all lesser Daedra are mortal creatures stolen at some point, then they had their anuic remnant removed and replaced with a vestige, after enough experimentation that creature would turn in a lesser Daedra and once it would reproduce it would create a new Daedric race.
This shit creates more questions than it answers, like how the fuck were Atronaches created? Well according to ESO they have their own neutral planes where they are sort of spawned...except for the whole soul shriven/vestige theory fucking claims that since Daedric Princes can't create life the only way for new lesser Daedra to get created is for them to go through the vestige bullshit.
SO HOW THE FUCK DO HALF OF THE DAEDRA THAT ARE STATED IN LORE TO FORM BY THESMELVES ON SOME PLANES WORK? ESPECIALLY ON PLANES THAT HAVE NO PRINCES
>>
>>47869298
>How about the one Daedric invasion that was successful unlike Molag Bal's
Dagon doesn't enslave, he destroys. A vestige is essentially a Daedric soul, and mortals infused with this stuff are also called Vestiges. Molag Bal enslaves mortals wholesale so he isn't in short supply, whereas Dagon seems to rely exclusively on Daedra, letting his mortal servants keep their souls.

Nirn doesn't directly create vestiges, those are products of Oblivion. Rather some mortals born on Nirn that become those paragons, capable of maintaining their personality as well as their physical form, and will directly or otherwise, meddle in and even prevent further Daedric incursions.

>>47869310
What would you call it? I agree it's redundant and confusing.

>>47869377
It's Oblivion. Mortals will never have a truly correct answer on how it works.
>>
>>47869288
>>47869377
That being said I love the implications of Daedric Titans being a Dragons body with a vestige placed in it.
What I imagine is Molag Bal sending Daedric Titans against Alduin, then Alduin just sort of raises his eyebrow and shouts
>Slen Tiid Vo Boziikkodstrun
And all of the Daedric Titans get attracted to each other like magnets. All of a sudden a rip in the veil appears and a Draconic soul enters these bodies.
There are two possible outcomes, a freakbeast gigga nigga Dragon is born, titans become a hivemind controlled by a Draconic soul of Boziikkodstrun or they dissolve and Boziikkodstrun forms out of their flesh.
>>
>>47869396
Fuck ESO for going Daedric Invasion route in general, again I can't shake off the feeling that they cucked Martin now. I really like that poor ol' bastard, one of the only characters I cared about in MQ of Oblivion.
He defeated Dagon, created a new covenant and had to do all this the hard way, but apparently he is a retarded.
>>
>>47869414
Well to be fair, Martin banished a Prince after he invaded Nirn. It gives the impression he gave Dagon a black eye at the very least, keeping him from reforming for a while.

The Soulless One beat Molag Bal in his realm, but a second later, Bal shows up just fine saying
>I let you win because reasons
And even then it was because the Soulless One had the power of Akatosh, and another fucking Daedric Prince on their side to do it.
>>
>>47869428
>And even then it was because the Soulless One had the power of Akatosh
And Martin is an aspect of Akatosh, like being an Aka is intrinsic to his soul.
I mean what's the point of lighting Dragonfires thanks to a Dragonborn emperor if thanks to ESO apparently everything that Amulet of Kings has to offer can be achieved through rituals?
>>
>>47869428
>>47869443
But most important of all I loathe the fact that Veil somehow gets sealed after you beat Molag Bal.
Why? You did not relight Dragonfires, they are still unlit, you did not create a new covenant (thank god you didn't), what gives? What the fuck sealed the veil?
And I've heard people say that you just stopped the invasion of Molag Bal but that's clearly no the case, they fucking state that the doors of Oblivion are shut now.

I also love how now in a 300 year period somehow everyone has to get an amnesia, forget about Amulet of Kings and it also has to get back to Sancre Tor on the the neck of Reman II, the tomb has to perfectly seal itself and again everyone has to for ever forget where the Amulet was found or where it might be by the time Tiber's conquest is a thing.
300 fucking years. especially with implications that Tharn will have that amulet for a while and will try to get power out of it...which it doesn't contain now but I guess new Draconic souls will just magically appear in Amulet of Kings by the time Hjalti gets it.
>>
>>47869473
Did you really expect ESO to make sense? Come on.
>>
>>47869443
> can be achieved through rituals?
Nope. You didn't stop the invasion, just the Planemeld. It's still ongoing, but once you're done, Bal will have to continue his invasion the old fashioned way: dropping Daedra everywhere after cultists tear open a hole.
>>47869473
>But most important of all I loathe the fact that Veil somehow gets sealed after you beat Molag Bal.
It doesn't. You just stopped the meld. That was the point of the Imperial City DLC, his invasion is still ongoing. The main story element in that part is that you are trying to stop him from destroying the White Gold Tower, and generally help the Imperials that didn't join Molag Bal take back their city. Or at least a defensible position.

>I also love how now in a 300 year period somehow everyone has to get an amnesia, forget about Amulet of Kings
Well there's that big ass alliance war going on. Odds are whoever was keeping track of that shit lost their papers or whatever. There is a theory that some people in game posited: that Cyrodiil is experiencing a Dragon Break, so that is why nothing makes sense, and why there are multiple servers, or 'timelines' in the alliance war, and why the war never seems to end. White Gold's partial destruction plus Molag Bal changing the Imperial City to be more like Coldharbor screwed with the basic laws of reality, creating this localized anomaly in Cyrodiil that other factions fight over. Again, who will keep track of that when the records you may be recording are totally wrong?

Any idea to spice up my playthrough? I have done the usual "Mages Guild and then Telvanni" so many times, but really have no other idea what else a mage could do in Morrowind. Do things get more interesting if you do Telvanni first and then join Mages Guild? Also ideas for cool fighting spells would be nice. I have long experience of playing atronarchs and my way to keep my magicka up is potions. At start it's very hard though, but once you get to Balmora you can buy tons of exclusive restore magicka potions. If you don't have money then just make some potions to sell. After you get better with alchemy and start to get enough ingredients you can make your own super magicka potions and magicka regeneration will never be problem.

t. >>47870120
>>
>>47870155
Also, you don't need to cheese it up, but there's no way to avoid using lots of alchemy when you play atronarch. You can stick to bought potions if making them yourself feels too overpowered.

That is true, but what's important is that Nalcarya of White Haven in Balmora sells exclusive ones and you can get them very early in game due to store being in Balmora. You should buy like 50 or so and they will last for long time yet are still pretty light to carry around.

>>
>>47870228
>Elsweyr is mostly desert
It's a bit more varied. There's fertile riverbasins, jungles, rainforest and groves of sugarcane reeds in the south. In the north, closer to Cyrodiil, the landscape goes from temperate hills and grassland to dry steppes, before you get to the massive interior desert.

>Summurset
Warm, beautiful islands with sandy shores, steep cliffs, and deep inland forests. But the isles can also be mountainous, with the city of Cloudrest being straddeled atop Summurset's highest mountain, buildings built atop each other along the mountainside, like giant vines. Dusk, in the south, may also lie in in a larger coastal highland.
Firsthold is described as being in perpetual spring, with the royal palace built into or onto the cliffs, above the warm Abecean Sea.
I'd say it's fairly Mediterranean.

>>47870318

If it hadn't been for Black Marsh, Valenwood would be the absolute worst province. And even that's disputable. The Second Empire designated Valenwood as a "wasteland province".

I find Bretons interesting as a fairly generic medieval fantasy setting stuck in somewhere far less generic.

In WFB, the Bretonnians are very medieval and scorn gunpowder weapons, but you can see how outside pressure is forcing some to reevaluate their views. Coastal cities are more like Imperial cities than like traditional Bretonnian cities, with canons and more modern mercenaries, and less strength being wielded by nobility. In some sense it's like a tug of war between other human kingdoms encouraging them to push forward, and wood elves and tradition trying to keep them where they are.

Bretons in TES are kind of similar in that regard. They've never had any real isolation of culture like the Dunmer or Bosmer. Their culture is derivative of High Elves in some ways - being some of the few humans to worship Merish gods in any sense, and still have the Direnni elves, and the Aylieds had their last known battle there - but they're also strongly pro-Imperial and worship the Divines, do a lot of trading and fighting with the Redguards, and have a long-standing relationship with the Orcs, who are trying to modernize themselves even as Bretons fight them. You even have Barenziah bringing a little Dunmer into the mix. It's all a mess, but it makes the society feel more real in its own way in how it keeps taking bits of everything else.

So basically I feel Bretons are most interesting because in some ways they're a 'safe' sort of fantasy, but they do have a lot of depth to them in the lore, and aside from the Imperials are the most influenced by other races and act as a melting pot of culture. You can find a little of just about anything in High Rock.

That's the problem with lorefags, so wrapped up in finding inconsistencies, they can't tell if something is a joke when it's slapping them in the face.
>>
>>47881567
So I'm still confused as to the intent of this.
Are we supposed to actually consider that item as being canonically Dumac's asswipe as it seems to heavily imply is the true case, or just assume that its a completely disconnected joke by the developers that has no other intent and should not be acknowledge beyond its metahumor? And if so, are we supposed to do the same for all those items, even the apparently fake chip of Lorkhan's Heart (which would make it a fake that doesnt actually exist)?
Also, for the record, there is no obvious joke slapping you in the face with that chip thing. The joke only seems to become apparent when you place it in association with shit like Dumac's toilet paper. With this then considered, the joke if anything seems to be how terribly stupid the very idea is, which is pretty bold of them seeing as they've gathered a pretty bad reputation for having bad lore.
Was it put in for the sole purpose of making lorefags cringe?

Did the Thalmors won? What will be the hero's destiny? Why is he a prisoner? Will Hamerfell rebel against the Dominion? Is the dark brotherhood wiped out? Is Skyrim enslaved? What do you want in the game?

That magic resistance is really useful, even if you never use any magic. And if you do, you might just be a spellsword or a battlemage. They are really the best race in that regard - they can be a little useful with everything, and don't really have any defects.

>>
>>47898194

>>
>>47895771
Only Mer can create Towers.

As it turns out, they're not that important anyway.
>>
>>47898194
The Aldmer are more of an idea than a necessarily true race. They existed ehile Aldmeris existed, which is to say they existed only as long As Elves remained a unified whole. Once groups like the Bosmer and Maormer form, and the Elves "leave" Aldmeris for Tamriel, the Aldmer no longer exist
>>47898320
Mortals could not keep a stable form so Y'ffre became the first earthbone to prevent this.
>>47898451
Y'ffres description in Varieties of faith states that all mortals lived in this confusing wild hunty state until he sacrificed himself. The Bosmers abilities are brought on by their own extensive knowledge and covenant with the force that gives mortals form to begin with.
>>
>>47899094
How are they not important? Don't they keep reality stable?
>>
>>47899141
>Mortals could not keep a stable form so Y'ffre became the first earthbone to prevent this.
Yes, but that's not what you're wrong about.
You're wrong about it being Y'ffre specifically who's responsible for the stabilisation of mortals.

>After these laws of nature were established, mortals had a semblance of safety in the new world, because they could finally understand it.
Laws. Plural. It's the Earthbones as a whole that's responsible.
>>
Welp, it's page 10.

With as many of the precursors to C0DA they keep putting in the games, this crop of Thalmore can't actually suffer any major setbacks before the end of Nirn.

I personally hope they don't go that route because I don't want any gay "ancestroscythe" power handwave erasing the Altmer, and then have Dunmer Jesus(vivec) and his side kick, remake men.

>>
>>47899863
The text makes it pretty clear that the actions were a direct result of that of Y'ffre, which, seeing as the entry is actually for Y'ffre makes
I dont understand where you are getting this idea that a god is strictly defined to establishing only one law. It makes perfect sense that Y'ffre, being pretty much the closest thing we know of to a traditional nature god, would be responsible for establishing the laws of nature, which could be summed up into a singular 'Y'ffre's Law' regardless.
>>
>>47899593
That used to be the theory. Common opinion has deviated.

Think of the Prolix Tower, drachochrysalis and Auri-el the ancestor, Auri-el the god.

Each of the Towers was built by a society of Mer, distinguishing them from the others, in imitation of the first Tower at Convention. Those wouldn't reinforce the world, Magnus built it and the Earthbones filled it.

If anything, they only reinforce or influence the local reality, but that's another theory.
